Rear passenger running lights just stopped working. I have seen several people with the same issue. I think there should be a recall for GM to fix the issue they are clearly aware of.
My brakes went out and a “service” message came up and said “brake assist”
THE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM DISPLAYS ON DASH EVERY 10 SECONDS, KEEPS ON DINGING LOUD AND WILL NOT CLEAR WHILE IM DRIVING.. IT JUST STARTED OUT OF KNOWHERE AND I NEVER USED THE TRAILER SYSTEM OR TOWED ANYTHING SINCED I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK. I SAW SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE/PROMBLEM. i JUST SPENT NEARLY $800 ON FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET TO GET THIS RESOLVED. GM NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM!!! LIKE I MENTION, I NEVER USED THE TRAILER SYSTEM AT ALL AND NEVER WILL. I DRIVE A 2015 YUKON DENALI SUV, BEEN HAVING PROBLEM ALSO WITH THE JERKING OF THE VEHICLE WHEN ITS PUT IN DRIVE. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THIS IS NORMAL, SOAGAIN SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT.
Transmission failure. Remanufactured transmission installed at 160,000 miles. Transmission started shifting abruptly and failed completely on interstate 26 in South Carolina. Had to limp home in a lower gear. Towed to a repair shop for complete replacement with a remanufactured GM transmission Total repair $4500. No warning indication of the problem, thankfully my wife was not driving this vehicle at the time. No inspection except by mechanic who stated based on his experience we got 10,000 miles more than normal for a GM 6L80 transmission. He also stated his shop replaced 5 of those transmissions in the month of August 2022. Documentation available on request.
The engine turns off when driving. This has happened at least 50 in the 2 years I've owned the vehicle. It has been serviced at Garland Shelton GMC in Temple, TX. The issue is not fixed. The battery and the negative cable have been replaced. When the engine dies none of the electrical works until I open the hood and wiggle the negative battery cable.
I just got my vehicle into the dealership because it's 115 degrees outside and the air conditioning stopped working. I am 8 hours away from home traveling with 6 children so I begged them to squeeze me in the same day for repair and they did. The dealership is saying it's a Crack in the air conditioning condenser and it's $1,600 to repair. This is unbelievable. 80,000 miles on it. This should be a safety concern. Sitting in stop and go traffic for hours in 115 degrees is unacceptable. GM needs to fix the problem and do their customers right.
Trailer break system warning keeps appearing.
Trailer brake system service keeps displaying
Pulling out onto busy road the vehicle make a loud noise and then failed to accelerate and lost power. It was three seconds before the vehicle then slowly accelerated. This continued to happen while driving. The dealer then advised that GM was aware of this issue and has not issued a recall to date. This loss of power was dangerous.
" Service Trailer Brake System" 5 times a week and sometimes more than that ....on average 5 times
6.2L engine, collapsed hydraulic lifter AFM failure, required $7400 in total repairs. All lifters, camshaft, high pressure fuel lines, high pressure fuel pump, intake manifold & miscellaneous parts and gaskets replaced by selling Dealer at 94000 miles. No help of any kind from GM or Dealer. This is a WELL KNOWN FAILURE FOR THESE ENGINES!
A message keeps popping up, “trailer brake system” it is poor wiring on GMC part. I did research on this and looked it up and other people had similar issues which can be very severe if driver continues to use after this message pops up. The message is so continuous that it could distract the driver, which could lead to a fatal accident.
Rear warning won’t maintain staying on. Keeps turning itself off or something.
My taillight has blown and I read online that several other vehicles like mines had this problem. The bulb itself can not be replaced. The whole LED box need to be replaced and one side onlybis roughly $800. Being a single mom of 3 boys, how can I afford that? I need my car inspected but with this issue I dnt know what to do. Please help.
While I was in line at the gas station to get gas, I moved up because the car I front of me had done so. After moving up a bit, I pressed my feet on the brake but the pedal was very stiff and the breaks did not hardly engage. I almost ran into the vehicle in front of me. This was very scary. So I called for a tow truck to pick me up but after a while they didn’t show. I started my car up to see if the the brakes engaged and they did. So I slowly and carefully drove myself to the GMC dealership in Southaven, MC which was 0.3 mile away from the gas station. The GMC dealership said that it was vacuum pump that was at fault and admitted it was a recall for this. But they said since my truck has already been serviced for this recall that I would have to pay to get it fixed. This is absolutely absurd. If the issue was not fixed properly in the first place, why would I be responsible for getting it fixed the second time?
The bolt connecting the lapbelt to the frame fell out as my adult daughter was buckled in the seat.
LED brake light wiring comes undone causing brake lights to go out.
The contact owns a Recaro car seat, Model Type: Young Sport Hero, Model Number: N/A, Manufactured Date: N/A. The car seat was being utilized in a 2015 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that her child was able to climb out of his car seat since there was no clasp on the harness to restrain him. The contact had to use the vehicle’s seat belt to restrain the child securely. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to not let her child climb out of his safety seat. The car seat was not repaired or replaced.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, he had to depress the brake pedal with extra force to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the brake assist warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where the repair was being performed. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.
Transmission Code P0700 and P0796 ( pressure control) I was on the Interstate and my 2015 GMC YUKON SLT Engine locked up and shift down to 2nd gear. Causing other cars to almost hit me from behind and possibly causing an accident. I had to quickly veer off on the side of the road so that they wouldn’t hit the back of me. Immediately my engine light came on. Didn’t have this problem prior to the breakdown. Brought it to GMC dealership they told me my torque converter was bad along with Computer TCM and Valve body. They said I need a new transmission. My SUV have 132k miles. I called around at other transmission shops and they ALL said they are getting 3-4 GMC YUKONS in to fix a week and knew exactly what the problem was with SUV. They couldn’t understand why GMC wasn’t correcting the problem. Also, last year had to replace the Cam Shaft, Lifters and Catalytic Convertor that’s was $6000 now they tell me $5500 for Transmission. That’s $12000+ in repair in lease than 1.5 years. Never have I had this much major problem on a vehicle. This is a major safety issue especially on interstate.
Driver Rear brake led light not working
Last week, the power brake assist began fading away intermittently at low speeds, and caught my wife off guard in a grocery store parking lot when she pulled into a parking space and the brakes were not available. She had to plant both feet on the brake pedal in a panic stop before crashing into the car parked in front of her, and has since never driven the vehicle. This is a danger, and is potentially life threatening.
Transmission failure at 167,000 miles. Transmission failed during a 100 mile trip initially slipping and eventually would not engage. Vehicle traveled on I 26 and could have resulted in accident on this 80 mph interstate. This vehicle is typically driven by my wife. No warning and GM Onstar provided vehicle diagnostic check in days prior to failure with no issues. Technician advised this was the 3rd vehicle this month in his shop with 6L80e transmission failure and said they normally fail around 150,000 miles. This is a known failure on numerous general motors vehicles across the product line. Repair required replacement of 6l80e transmission with a factory rebuilt transmission. Cost $4,100.
Break like when out and only solution iam being given is to replace the whole housing at 800$ and it seems this a faulty component.
I almost died today. My brakes failed pedal went hard still is. Had to drive home with a stiff pedal and almost no brakes. Just paid $50,000 for this truck
I was driving my 2015 GMC Yukon a light illuminated on the dashboard. I pulled over at a Convenience store. Got my children out of the car. Once out of the vehicle I noticed smoke. Within the matter of 2 mins the truck was engulfed in flames.
Air conditioning stopped working.
Brakes are not stopping the vehicle on short distances as it should. They are doing a clicking kind of noise and can feel pulses in the brake pedal as though ABS are trying to activate. I know there is a recall out but is saying my 2015 is not listed yet is doing the same thing that is described in the recall.
Right brake light and tail light quit working for a few days, then returned to normal operation, both worked fine for a week then the left side went out and also returns for a few days. Now both are out except for one led per side per cluster. No brake lights except for the one over the gate. And turn signals work as they should.
Tail Lights don't work. Have seen several complaints about this problem. There is currently a lawsuit concerning this. GMC will only cover replacement if car has less than 72,000 miles. The replacement lights cost about $800 each. Having it looked at now. Fear that I will have to pay replacement costs.
The problem initially started around August 19th when my daughter was driving the SUV. It started suddenly flashing multiple service problems ex trailer brake service, park assist service and stability track service. It started flashing them over and over every second and the engine would rev up then slow down which continued even after she was able to pull over and get it into park. It was terrifying for her. We had the vehicle towed to GMC. GMC felt the electrical problems were due to the fuse box so they replaced the entire fuse box and changed all the fuses. Last week, my daughter again was driving home on the highway and the vehicle started doing the same warning but also displayed several more warnings and the car was lurching forward and slowing down over and over again despite trying to maintain a safe speed. She was close to home and thankfully made it safely home. I drove the car the next morning a few miles to see what was going on and it started doing the same thing with alerts, servicing cycling through the dashboard and the speed and rpm kept revving up and slowing down, I could not maintain a steady slow speed as it seemed like the car was braking every few seconds so it kept lurching forward out of control. We had the car again towed to the same GMC. This time GMC changed out all the battery cables going to and from the batter itself. My husband picked up the car a few days later after being told the problem had been fixed. Within a couple miles of leaving the dealership (and thankfully before getting on the highway) the car started again with the lurching, revving and continuous flashing of a multitude of service alerts/failures. GMC had the car towed back to the service center where it has remained as they run more diagnostic tests. We are concerned that there is a serious electrical problem that they have been unable to figure out on this vehicle which has put each of us at serious safety risk when trying to drive it.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle started to vibrate abnormally. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 120,058.
THE TAIL LIGHTS FLICKER AND SOMETIMES DON'T WORK AT ALL.
STOP AND TAIL FUNCTIONS INSIDE THE TAIL LAMPS HAVE BECOME INOPERATIVE. PURCHASED VEHICLE USED AND FALLS JUST OUTSIDE OF THE SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT; N182180270. THIS IS STILL VERY MUCH A SAFETY ISSUE, EVEN THOUGH IT'S 1 MONTH LONGER THAN THE 6 YEAR CUTOFF.
REAR BREAK LIGHT . INTERNAL WIRING OF THE TAIL LIGHTS CRACKS LEADING TO TAIL LIGHT FAILURE. THE FAILURE DOES NOT TRIGGER ANY WARNINGS AND THE DRIVER IS UNAWARE OF THIS FAILURE UNLESS THEY PREFORM A PRE TRIP INSPECTION.
ONSTART NOT WORKING PROPERLY. CANNOT ACCESS GPS AND/OR CERTAIN FUNCTIONS IN THE GMC APPLICATION DUE TO NO ANTENNA SIGNAL BEING OBTAINED THROUGH INTELLILINK SYSTEM. ONSTAR MIRROR HAS A RED LIGHT AND GPS HAS A CROSS HATCH THROUGH IT. WE HAVE ACTIVATED ONSTAR PROFILE AND SUBSCRIPTION. I KNOW THEIR HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS ANTENNA IN THE PAST BUT WE JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WERE INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT BY TAPPING ON THE LIGHT HOUSING. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER BEN MYNATT BUICK LOCATED AT 289 CONCORD PKWY S, CONCORD, NC 28027 WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,800.
FIRST NOTE THAT OUR RECALL FOR INCREASED PEDAL EFFORT WAS DONE ON OUR 2015 GMC YUKON 2 MONTHS BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. OUR VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED COMING HOME FROM MAMMOTH ON THE 15 FREEWAY. WE HEARD WHAT WE DESCRIBE AS A 'BUZZING' NOISE BUT WE COULDN'T TELL IF IT WAS OUR CAR OR ANOTHER ON THE FREEWAY IT ALMOST SOUNDED LIKE TIRE TREAD BEFORE YOU HAVE A BLOW OUT. WE SLOWED DOWN A BIT (65-70MPH) TO CHECK OUR SURROUNDINGS. A FEW MINUTES LATER WE STARTED TO LOSE CONTROL OF OUR YUKON. I STARTED TO UNBUCKLE AND CLIMB TO MY HUSBANDS DRIVERS SEAT BECAUSE HE WASN'T RESPONDING TO OUR SCREAMS AND HE LOOKED ILL. AS I WAS SCREAMING HIS NAME HE FINALLY SAYS INTO MY EAR WE HAVE TO CRASH! I PANICKED AND SCREAMED WHAT IS HAPPENING. HE REPLIES 'WE HAVE NO BRAKES'! THE PEDAL WAS AS HARD AS A ROCK LIKE A BRICK WAS UNDERNEATH IT AND OUR CAR WAS SERVING BACK AND FORTH. AS TRAFFIC SLOWED AND WE PREPARED TO CRASH INTO THE CAR IN FRONT THE CENTER DIVIDER OPENED UP AND WE WERE ABLE TO CRUISE DOWN IT UNTIL WE SLAMMED E BRAKE ON. THESE MODELS SHOULD NOT BE ON THE ROAD AND WE COULD HAVE VERY EASILY DIED OR KILLED ANOTHER FAMILY IN THE PROCESS! ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE ON GMS PART! TERRIFYING! THERE HAS BEEN NO VACUUM PUMP RECALL PLACED ON OUR YUKON AND IT WAS THE VACUUM PUMP THAT FAILED WHICH MADE THE BRAKES FAIL THERE WAS NO BACK UP ZERO BRAKES WITH A FAMILY OF 5 IN THE CAR ON THE FREEWAY! EVERY OWNER WHO OWNS A 2015/2016 SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN TO THEM. IT'S NOT JUST AT SLOW SPEED. WE HAVEN'T STEPPED FOOT IN OUR CAR SINCE OUR KIDS ARE SCARED TO DEATH TO RIDE IN ANY CAR THAT LOOKS LIKE IT.
THE POWER STEERING LOCKS UP AND THE DISPLAY ON DASH READS POWER STEERING LOSETHIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES AND EACH TIME I'VE HAD TO GO RESCUE MY WIFE THIS IS HER CAR. I FOUND OUT THAT I COULD REMOVE THE BATTERY CABLE FROM BATTERY TO RESET THE PROBLEM BUT IT ONLY LAST FOR A SHORT WHILE
BOTH REAR TAIL LIGHTS ARE INOPERABLE AND THE DEALER WANTS OVER $800 TO REPLACE. I'M OVER THE MILEAGE LIMIT FOR THE RECALL SO I'M OUT OF LUCK.
BOTH REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES WENT BAD. THE LEFT ONE IN APRIL OF 2019 AND THE RIGHT ONE IN JANUARY OF 2021. SERVICE ADVISORS IN THE 2 DEALERSHIPS I DEAL WITH CLAIM THE DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. YET A NUMBER OF REPAIR SHOPS ON THE INTERNET KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM IN 2015 TO 2019 YUKON'S BECAUSE THEY REPAIR THEM. FUNNY THAT GM DOES NOT. I SENT THE 1ST ONE OUT AND IT WAS REPAIRED FOR WELL UNDER THE COST OF A NEW ONE. I COMPLAINED AGAIN TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT THIS ONE TO NO AVAIL. GOING TO SEND IT OUT FOR REPAIR AS WELL. INCIDENTALLY THEY COVER THE REPAIR WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY.
Tail lights keep going out and have been replaced
Trailer Brake connection gives errors. Has been fixed multiple times with dealer with error still occurring
PURCHASED A 2015 YUKON DENALI BACK IN NOVEMBER 2019. SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY, TRANSMISSION, AC COMPRESSOR AND EXPANSION VALVE (WHICH STILL ISN'T WORKING CORRECTLY, BECAUSE IT DOESN'T BLOW COLD AIR), AND THE BLACK PANELS THAT ARE IN BETWEEN THE WINDOWS. ALSO, BOTH TAIL LIGHTS HAVE DECIDED TO QUIT WORKING.... WHICH CONCERNS ME GREATLY BECAUSE CARS BEHIND ME DON'T KNOW WHEN I AM STOPPED OR APPLYING THE BREAKS. STOPPED OR HAVE MY FOOT ON THE BREAK.
AT 38,000 (2018) THIS VEHICLE REQUIRED A FRONT LEFT AND REAR RIGHT SHOCK REPLACEMENT DUE TO LOCKING UP. AT 61,000 MILES BOTH REAR SHOCKS LOCKED AGAIN. THIS TIME NOT REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AND COSTING $1500 TO FIX. GMC CARE OFFERED ME $100 SERVICE VOUCHER AND NO ASSISTANCE ON THEIR FAULTY PRODUCTS. THE GMC DEALER OFFERED ME A $1500 COUPON GOOD FOR MY NEXT PURCHASE OR POSSIBLY $1500 TOWARD WHEN MY FRONT SHOCKS HAVE ISSUES. WHAT??? THE $1500 COUPON IS GOOD FOR 1 YEAR TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF A NEW GMC. EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALL GMC CARE TO COMPLAIN.1-866-790-5600 SO WE GET REIMBURSED FOR AN OBVIOUS RECALLABLE ITEM. NO VEHICLE LESS THEN 5 YEARS OLD SHOULD NEED SHOCKS REPLACED TWICE. THIS IS MY THIRD GMC YUKON DENALI AND MY LAST DUE TO GMC NOT WORKING WITH ME. DOES ANYONE THINK A VEHICLES SHOCKS SHOULD NEED TO BE REPLACE TWICE IN A 5 YEAR LIFE??
SO MY BRAKE LIGHT ON REAR ALL HAVE GONE OUT DUE TO BAD LED LIGHTS OR SOME KNOWN COMPONENT GOES BAD. #2. FUEL PUMP IS BAD. #3 RADIATOR HAS A CRACK IN IT. THIS IS A 2015 YUKON
WHEN I GET TO A RED LIGHT OR A PARKING SPOT SOMETIMES THE POWER STEERING GETS HARD AND IT GETS HARD FOR ME TO STEER IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT I HAS DONE IT MORE THAN 3 TIMES AND SCARED VEHICLES POWER STEERING MIGHT STOP WORKING ONE DAY
MY PASSENGER BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. APPARENTLY THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IS TO BUY A WHOLE NEW UNIT WHICH COSTS $300-$500.
THERE WAS A RECALL FOR LOW BREAK FAILURE IT WAS RECALL 19V645. I HAD THIS DONE LAST YEAR AND TODAY I ALMOST HIT A CAR IN THE DRIVE THROUGH SIDE THE BRAKES ARE STILL DOING THE SAME THING GOING TO THE FLOOR. THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE FAULTY VACUUM PUMP. I EXPERIENCE THIS WHILE BACKING OUT AND STOPPING AT SLOW SPEEDS.
PASSENGER REAR BRAKE LIGHTS QUIT WORKING. APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN THAT CAUSES A BREAK IN THE CIRCUIT ON THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. REPAIR CAN BE MANUALLY DOWN BY CUTTING THROUGH PLASTIC OF ASSEMBLY AND SOLDERING BREAK, OR REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. NO ACCIDENTS - JUST NORMAL DRIVING.
