TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 GMC YUKON EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL CROSSCONTACT LX20 TIRES, SIZE: P275/55R20 111S. AFTER THE CONTACT RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16T016000 (TIRES), EXCESSIVE TREAD WEAR AND VIBRATION FROM THE WHEEL NOISE WERE PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16T016000 (TIRES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000. *TR
4 WEEK OLD 2016 YUKON DENALI XL, HAS STALLED 3 TIMES IN LAST 4 WEEKS, ENGINE CUTS OFF AFTER A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, AND IT HAS TO BE RESTARTED! COULD HAVE EASILY HAD AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, 3 TIMES. 1ST TWO TIMES, ALL OF SERVICE DEPT. COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. TODAY, AFTER A STALL, CALLED ONSTAR, RAN A DIAGNOSTICS, FOUND NOTHING OF VALUE , I LEFT IT AT DEALERSHIP AND CONTACTED DISTRICT MGR. MATT TILLSON . I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD ESCALATE THE ISSUE. I DID TELL DEALER THAT GMC AND DEALERSHIP WOULD BE AT FAULT IF VEHICLE IS IN AN ACCIDENT AND DIES WHILE I AM DRIVING. I DID NOT WANT THE VEHICLE BACK WITHOUT THE PROBLEM HAVING BEEN FIXED.
THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION UNEXPECTEDLY SLIPS OUT OF GEAR BETWEEN 20 AND 35 MPH. WHEN THIS OCCURS, PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR MERELY REVS THE ENGINE, WITHOUT FORWARD MOTION. THIS OCCURRED 4 TIMES IN THE FIRST 600 MILES OF OPERATION. WITHOUT POWER, I CAN'T NAVIGATE OUT OF A DANGEROUS SITUATION.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS) IN 2016. COURTESY AUTOMOTIVE CENTER (2520 COHASSET RD, CHICO, CA 95973) STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW. AFTER ONE WEEK I NOTICE MY CAR JERKING WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP I BROUGHT IT FROM, THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THATS HOW IT CHANGES GEARS FROM 4 CYLINDER TO 8 CYLINDER. SO ME BELIEVING IN THE SERVICE MANAGER, I WENT ALONG WITH HIM. WELL AFTER HAVING DIFFERENT PEOPLE RIDE WITH ME THEY ASKED ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR NEE CAR? WHY IS IT SHIFTING GEARS SO HARD. SO I TOOK IT BACK IN TO DEALERSHIP I TALK TO SAME SERVICE MANAGER THAT MY CAR IS JERKING AND MAKING A LOUD NOISE . WELL LETS JUST SAY I GOT THE RUN AROUND. THEN 6 MONTHS LATER I TOOK IT BACK AND FORTH MULTIPLE TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM. NOW THIS TIME MY TURNING SIGNALS WE BLINKING ON AND OFF, WHENEVER I WASHED MY CAR OR IT RAINED. THEN MY FRONT HEADLIGHTS WERE DOING THE SAME THING, THEN THE BACK TAIL LIGHTS WERE GOING ON AND OFF. NOW ONTO MY HEATED AND A/C SEATS WERE NOT WORKING. THEN MY INTERIOR LIGHTS WETE STAYING ON, MONITOR DISPLAY WAS SHORTING OUT. NOW IT 2020 AND MY HOOD AND TOP OF THE CAR ARE OXIDIZING. I THOUGHT I PAID $80k FOR THIS CAR AND THIS WHAT HAPPENS!! I PARK IN THE GARAGE TOO! THERE IS ALOT MORE PROBLEMS TO ADD, BUT NOT ENOUGH SPACE TO PUT DOWN. IM DEALING WITH THE GMC HEADQUARTERS NOW. MY CAR IS A LEMON!!
MY 2016 YUKON DENALI HAS A VIBRATION PROBLEM, WHICH I BELIEVE IS CAUSED BY THE MAGNETIC RIDE CONTROL. THE VIBRATION DOES NOT SPEED UP, NOR SLOW DOWN, DEPENDING ON SPEED. IT IS, HOWEVER, MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN THERE IS ANY ROAD IMPERFECTION. THE GMC SERVICE DEPT. HAS BALANCED AND ROTATED TIRES, EVEN SENT IT TO TWO OTHER BUSINESSES TO TRY AND FIX -- ALIGNMENT, ETC. VIBRATION CONTINUES. I'VE HAD PASSENGERS WHO ASK "WHY DOES YOUR CAR HAVE THE SHIVERS?" GM DEALER DID GET AHOLD OF A GMC TECHNICIAN WHO FLEW IN, AND DROVE THE CAR AND SAID -- YES IT HAS A VIBRATION, BUT IT IS IN ACCEPTABLE PARAMETERS. MY DEALER HAS PROVIDED ME 3 DIFFERENT RENTAL CARS WHILE WORKING TO TRY AND FIX THE "SHIVERS" ... ALL THREE WERE FAIRLY NEW, SMALL BUICKS, AND ALL 3 RODE BETTER THAN THIS NEW $75,000 DENALI. I LOVE THE VEHICLE, HATE THE VIBRATION. GMC ITSELF HAS NOW TOLD ME -- YOUR CASE IS CLOSED! THE VIBRATION IS WITHIN ACCEPTABLE LIMITS. THE DEALER HAS LET ME DRIVE TWO OTHER YUKON DENALI'S ... BOTH HAVE SIMILAR VIBRATIONS... JUST NOT AS BAD AS THIS VEHICLE. VIBRATION IS NOTICEABLE AT 25 MPH, AS WELL AS AT 80 MPH; ALTHOUGH IT IS MORE NOTICEABLE ON ROUGHER ROADS. I AM HAPPY TO SHARE THE REPORTS FROM MY LOCAL GM DEALER, WHO COMPLETELY AGREES THAT THE CAR SHIMMIES. WE TRIED THE GMC BUYBACK PROGRAM, AND I WAS TOLD BY GMC THAT PROGRAM IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ME, EVEN THOUGH I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHEN I HAD LESS THAN 100 MILES ON IT. AND HAVE BEEN TAKING IT BACK REGULARLY SINCE.
ON FEBRUARY 27, 2016 PURCHASED A BRAND NEW GMC, YUKON SLE, 2016, AND VIN# ([XXX]). ON FEBRUARY 28 2016 I NOTICED A RUMBLE IN THE ENGINE, A VIBRATION OF THE ENTIRE VEHICLE, A LOUD HISSING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE AND AN EXTREME JERK WHEN TRAVELING UPHILL. ON FEBRUARY 29, 2016 I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO CLYDE REVORD MOTORS, 7900 EVERGREEN WAY EVERETT, WA. 98203 FOR THE MECHANIC TO TEST DRIVE. MECHANIC CONCLUDED THE NONCONFORMITIES DID EXIST. ON MARCH 3, 2016 I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO CLYDE REVORD MOTORS, 7900 EVERGREEN WAY EVERETT, WA. 98203 FOR REPAIRS. MECHANIC COULD NOT FIX THE NONCONFORMITIES AND ORDERED A TORQUE CONVERTER. ON MARCH 8, 2016 I CALLED CLYDE REVORD MOTORS, 7900 EVERGREEN WAY EVERETT, WA. 98203 AND WAS TOLD INCORRECT TORQUE CONVERTER WAS ORDERED AND CORRECT TORQUE CONVERTER REORDERED. ON MARCH 14, 2016 WHEN TORQUE CONVERTER ARRIVED I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO CLYDE REVORD MOTORS, 7900 EVERGREEN WAY EVERETT, WA. 98203 TO INSTALL. ON MARCH 15, 2016 VEHICLE RETURNED TO ME WITH THREE OF THE SAME NONCONFORMITIES REMAINING A RUMBLE IN THE ENGINE, A VIBRATION OF THE ENTIRE VEHICLE, A LOUD HISSING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. ON MARCH 22, 2016 I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO CLYDE REVORD MOTORS, 7900 EVERGREEN WAY EVERETT, WA. 98203, FOR REPAIRS OF THE THREE REMAINING NONCONFORMITIES. ON MARCH 24, 2016 VEHICLE RETURNED TO ME WITH THE SAME THREE REMAINING NONCONFORMITIES. ON MARCH 30, 2016 I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO CLYDE REVORD MOTORS, 7900 EVERGREEN WAY EVERETT, WA. 98203 FOR THE MANAGER TO TEST DRIVE. MANAGER CONCLUDED SAME THREE REMAINING NONCONFORMITIES. MECHANIC REPLACED EXHAUST FLEX JOINT. VEHICLE RETURNED TO ME WITH TWO OF THE SAME REMAINING NONCONFORMITIES, A RUMBLE IN THE ENGINE AT 1300 RPM ROLLING AND A VIBRATION OF THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TRAVELING UP HILL. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES 40-60 MILES PER HOUR A VIBRATION OCCURS... OFTEN SOUNDS LIKE A WINDOW IS DOWN AND CAN CAUSE NAUSEA AND HEADACHE...
VEHICLE HAS VIBRATION & NOISE WIHEN IN 4 CYLINDER MODE OF OPERATION. GIVES HEADACHE ON LONG DRIVES. GM SAYS THAT THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. MOST AGRIVATING.
HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM AND DO NOT PROVIDE APPROPRIATE VISIBILITY FOR SAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT, PARTICULARLY WHEN NAVIGATING CURVY ROADS AS THE LIGHTS DO NOT PROJECT AN ADEQUATE DISTANCE. FACTORY BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH ANOTHER BRAND WITH MINIMAL IMPROVEMENT.
