NEW 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID MAKES LOW FREQUENCY "BUZZING" NOISE WHILE PARKED IN GARAGE SEVERAL HOURS AFTER 30 MINUTES OR MORE RIDE. BUZZING NOISE NOT HEARD IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGINE SHUT OFF. NOISE NOT HEARD UNTIL SERENDIPITY ACCESSING GARAGE AT LEAST TWO HOURS AFTER ENGINE SHUT OFF. MULTIPLE OCCASION "BUZZING" SOUND LOCATED IN TRUNK WHERE LITHIUM BATTERIES ARE!
FIRST 7,000 MILES GOT 47 MPG, HONDA DID BACK UP CAMERA SOFTWARE UPDATE, AND MPG DROPPED TO 42, THEN 38, AND NOW 34, ON ALL THE SAME TYPES OF DRIVING. ELECTRIC ENGINE HARDLY RUNS AND NOT NEARLY AS MUCH AS EARLIER. SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE TEMPERATURE, THE COLDER THE TEMPERATURE, THE LOWER THE MPG.

BOUGHT 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID NEW JULY 2018. INITIAL TANK OF GAS MPG 56! EVER SINCE MPG IN 30S. GAS ENGINE RUNS CAR 90% OF TIME! EV MOTOR RARELY COMES ON! ESSENTIALLY NOT A HYBRID! GAUGE FOR HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY ALWAYS AT (3) OUT OF (10) BARS - NEVER FULLY CHARGES! OWNER'S MANUAL SAYS LOW LITHIUM ION BATTERY CHARGE CAN SHORTEN LIFE OF LITHIUM BATTERIES! HONDA DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE PURCHASED SAYS, "WE DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE HYBRIDS."!!! HE SAYS "WINTER GAS" LOWERS THE GAS MILEAGE"! I SAID ITS A HYBRID, 'WINTER GAS' DOESN'T AFFECT THE ELECTRIC MOTOR! HONDA DEALER SAYS AGAIN THAT THEY DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT HONDA HYBRIDS! 1. IS MY NEW 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID HIGH VOLTAGE LITHIUM BATTERY DEAD OR DYING ALREADY? 2. WHY DOESN'T THE EV MOTOR COME ON? ISN'T IT SUPPOSED TO BE A HYBRID? 3. WHY DOESN'T HONDA INSTRUCT DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ON HOW HYBRIDS WORK? 3. WHY DOESN'T HONDA SUPPORT ITS OWN HYBRID MODELS?
PARKING SENSOR DESIGN FAILURE. THE PARKING SENSOR ALARM INTERMITTENTLY GOES OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING 5 MPH OR LESS, SOMETIMES EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING. THIS FAILURE IN THE SYSTEM IS A DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER CAUSING THE DRIVER TO STOP WHAT HE/SHE IS DOING TO IDENTIFY THE ALARM. NORMALLY, THIS WOULD NOT BE AN A MAJOR ISSUE, HOWEVER, WHEN STOPPED WAITING TO TURN LEFT FROM ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC WITH LITTLE TO NO MEDIAN, ONCOMING TRAFFIC WILL CAUSE THE SYSTEM TO CONSTANTLY GO OFF DISTRACTING THE DRIVER. THERE ARE ALSO TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY STOPPED AND SITTING BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE, THAT THE SYSTEM WILL AGAIN GO OFF INDICATING THE DRIVER IS ABOUT TO HIT AN OBJECT EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS COMPLETELY STATIONARY. I TOOK THIS VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM AND THE SYSTEM WAS DESIGNED THIS WAY. THIS SYSTEM IS A DISTRACTION TO DRIVERS AND VERY LIKELY COULD CAUSE SENSORY OVERLOAD TO DRIVERS IF NOT CORRECTED.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) WILL UNEXPECTEDLY SHOW THAT A TIRE(S) ARE UNDERINFLATED WHEN THEY ARE NOT. THE TIMES THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLES WERE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH SPEEDS.
I have had issues with the display turning off while vehicle is in motion. I have had this issue since I purchased the vehicle and have addressed the concern each and every time it has been serviced. They "reset" the software and say that will take care of it, but it never does. This has been a hazard from the beginning. Now, my car won't turn on but all the lights come on including every warning notice on the panel. I see now that there is a recall which I am taking it in for tomorrow. This vehicle is proving to be a lemon.
I DON'T KNOW IF MY PREVIOUS REPORT WENT THROUGH, SO THIS IS A SECOND ATTEMPT! WITHIN A WEEK OF GETTING THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE WE NOTICED A SEVERE WINDSHIELD PROBLEM! WHEN WE TURNED INTO THE SETTING SUN, THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD LOOKED LIKE SHATTERED GLASS! IT SEVERELY HAMPERED VISION TO THAT SIDE. WHEN WE TURNED THE OTHER DIRECTION, IT LOOKED NORMAL! IT HAPPENED AGAIN, UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY. THE HEAD OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT IN 30 + YEARS! HE COULD SEE THE PROBLEM WITH A FLASHLIGHT! HE SAID WE NEED A NEW WINDSHIELD, THAT THE ORIGINAL ONE IS DEFECTIVE . I WILL ENCLOSE PHOTOS.
A LOUD DRONING NOISE OCCURS RANDOMLY. NOTICEABLE NOT ONLY BY DRIVER BUT FRONT AND REAR PASSENGERS. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION SINCE PURCHASE. THEY SAY THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE NOISE. ORIGINALLY HAPPENED BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH BUT NOW OCCURS AT VARIOUS SPEED.
