SRS LIGHT REMAINED ON AND THE DEALER INDICATED IT WAS DUE TO THE COMPUTER FAILURE. THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG MIGHT NOT DEPLOY INCASE OF ACCIDENT AS THE RESULT OF MALFUNCTIONING. *YH
WHILE DRIVING BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR, AND HAD NO BRAKING ABILITY AT ALL. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
MY 1997 ACCORD HAS HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER EVERY YEAR ATLEAST TWO TIMES, I NEED TO HAVE SOME PART OF THE AC REPAIRED OR REPLACED, CONTACTED HONDA USA AND ALL I GOT WAS A SORRY, THIS IS THE 7TH HONDA/ACURA VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED AND NEVER HAD THIS TYPE OF ISSUE W/ ANY OTHER ONE. HAVE A SPENT WELL OVER 3,000 DOLLORS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR ON AC ISSUES ALONE. *AK
CONSUMER WAS REAR ENDED BY SOMEONE AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER FEELS THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED BODILY HARM. *AK
EXHAUST PIPE HAD A HOLE AND RUST, AND MUFFLER WAS COMPTETELY HOLLOW TOO. YH

CRUISE CONTROL FAILED LIKELY CAUSE OF SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED 5/97. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 99V069000 RECALLED SIMILAR MODEL FOR DEFECTIVE BALL JOINTS, FOR UNITS MANUFACTURED FROM 7/97 TO 8/97. I BELIEVE MY MODEL, MANUFACTURED 5/97, HAS SAME PROBLEM. CAR MAKES "GROANING" NOISE WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED AT STARTUP, AND AROUND CURVES. FEAR UNSAFE CONDITION COULD LEAD TO ACCIDENT. PLEASE IMMEDIATELY EXTEND RECALL #99V069000 TO COVER HONDA ACCORD 1997 MODELS MANUFACTURED IN MONTHS PRIOR TO JULY 1997!!! I ASKED DEALER TO CHECK BALL JOINTS DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, WAS TOLD THAT MY MODEL WAS NOT AFFECTED BY RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON & DID NOT GO OFF. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP & WAS INFORMED TO HAVE THE AIR BAGS IN VEHICLE REPLACED.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 30MPH ON A PAVEMENT ROAD, AND FRONT PASSENGER'S TIRE POPPED OUT, AND VEHICLE RAN OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH. *AK
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. CONTACTED DEALER WHO SAID THAT THE AIRBAG COMPUTER HAD GONE BAD, AND THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THEREFORE, COULD NOT FIX THE AIR BAG COMPUTER. *AK
DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHEN A PARKED VEHICLE WAS BEING STARTED AND INJURED THE DRIVER, AT THE TIME OF THE DEPLOYMENT THE IGNITION SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING. YH
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT 35MPH, AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN MINOR INJURIES. MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED. *AK
WATER LEAKED INTO FRONT FLOORING, CAUSED BY "LEAF BUILDUP" IN A/C.
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HEAD ON COLLISION AT 40 MPH, NO DEPLOYMENT OF BOTH AIR BAGS. MJS
I SPENT OVER $800 IN EIGHT MONTHS ON NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. THE PARTS REPLACED WERE ORIGINAL FROM THE DAY BOUGHT MARCH 1, 1997. HONDA OF SCOTTSDALE, HONDA OF TEMPE, AND HONDA OF MESA ALL HAVE KEPT REQUIRED MAINTENANCE RECORDS. AT ABOUT 32K MILES I ASKED SCOTTSDALE HONDA TO CHECK A RATTLING SOUND. THEY SAID I STELL HAD 7500 MILES ON THE BRAKES. AT ABOUT 34K I TOOK IT TO ECONOLUBE N' TUNE BECAUSE I WAS GETTING NO SATISFACTION. HE CHARGED ME $350 AND SAID THE ROTOR COULD NOT BE TURNED ON HIS LATHE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MARY CUTBIRTH, CUSTOMER RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE FOR HONDA IN COLARADO (303-696-3935) SAID TRY TO GET THE CALIPERS BACK BECAUSE THEY WERE UNDER THE 36K MILES WARRANTY. ECONOLUBE N' TUNE THREW THEM AWAY. HONDA WOULD NOT HELP, AT 45K MILES HONDA OF MESA DID THE MAINTENANCE INSPECTION. I TOOK THE CAR BACK BECAUSE I HEARD RATTLING. THEY DID NOTHING. AT 50565 MILES I WAS FEELING SHAKING WHEN I STOPPED. HONDA OF MESA SAID THE ROTOR NEEDED REPLACING WITH BRAKE PADS. IT COST $450. *AK

WHEN STARTING UP VEHICLE CONSUMER CAN SMELL FUEL OR VAPORS WITHIN THE VEHICLE. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE THE SMELL GETS INTO VEHICLE, AND CONSUMER CAN'T DETERMINE WHERE FUEL OR VAPORS ARE COMING FROM. DEALER IS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
NOTICED WATER ACCUMILATION ON BOTTOM PART OF ALL DOORS AFTER RAINSTORMS. WATER ALSO ACCUMILATE DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS, ALONG THE ENTIRE PLASTIC MOLDING. ALSO CAN HEAR WATER DRIPPING SLOWLY WITHIN THE DOORS. ALSO NOTICED HOLES ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH DOORS, THEY SEEM TO BE THERE TO LET WATER ESCAPE. WONT ALLOWING WATER TO BE INSIDE THE DOORS DAMAGE THE SPEAKER, POWER WINDOW MOTOR, AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONANTS?
POWER WINDOWS(ESPECIALLY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE) OPERATE VERY SLOWLY AFTER RAINSTORMS. THERE IS ALSO SOME SORT OF STICKY FILM THAT DEVELOPES ON THE INNER TOP PART OF ALL THE WINDOWS WHERE THE GLASS COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE WEATHER STRIPS. A LOUD , UNSTICKING SOUNDS COMES FROM THE WINDOWS WHEN THEY ARE FIRST LOWERED. TRIED TO CLEAN WINDOWS AND WEATHER STRIPING WITH A MILD CLEANSER, BUT NO LUCK! THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS ALREADY.
I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE ON MY DRIVEWAY TO GO TO WORK. I GENTLY PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL LIKE I DO EVERY DAY. THE CAR JUMPED LIKE A BULLET SPUN 180 DEGREES HIT A TREE IN MY FRONT YARD SPUN AROUND FOR ANOTHER 180 DEGREES AND LANDED IN MY FRONT YARD. THE TRUNK OF THE CAR WAS TOTALY DESTROID AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS BADLY DAMAGED WHEN THE CAR SPUN THE SECOND TIME AND HIT ANOTHER TREE IN MY FRONT YARD. I THINK WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL SOMEHOW IT GOT STUCK AND CAUSED THE RAPID UNCONTROL ACCELERATION OF THE CAR. I CALLED THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO REPORT THE ACCIDENT BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT MAKE A REPORT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN A PRIVATE PROPERTY AND NOBODY WAS INJURED. I ALSO CALLED THE DEALER.
TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP AFTER ABS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. DIAGNOSED PROBLEM IS THAT ABS MODULATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. PART COST $963.50 AND LABOR AT DEALERSHIP IS $189.60. THAT IS IN ADDITION TO $59.00 I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. *AK
EXCESSIVE TIRE AND WIND NOISE ENTERING CAR AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45MPH. CAN HEAR EXCESSIVE TIRE NOISE FROM BACK SEAT AREA. CAN HEAR EXCESSIVE AIR NOISE FROM FRONT PASSENGER AREA. MUCH NOISIER THAN 91 ACCORD COUPE OF SAME STYLE.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION COMPUTER FAILED. YH
WHILE DRIVING HEARD A POP AND HIT A BUMP AND REAR GLASS WINDOW STARTED TO SHATTER INTO THE VEHICLE, THE REAR DEFOGGER WAS ON. DEALER NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. LEASED VEHICLE. PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
OIL PLUG THAT ON THE OIL PAN FELL OFF, CAUSING THE OIL TO SPRAY UNTO ENGINE, RESULTING IN DAMAGES AND ALMOST A FIRE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION AND VIN#. *AK
ST1100 CARBURETOR ICE HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES ON THIS VEHICLE WHEN OUTSIDE AIR IS BETWEEN 35 AND 40, AND FOG OR RAIN IS OCCURRING. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS ON FEB 6 1999, AND CAUSED A TOTAL ENGINE SHUT DOWN ON A BUSY ROADWAY WITH NO PLACE TO PULL OFF. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY TRAFFIC BEHIND ME, AND HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 5 MINUTES TO RESTART AFTER THE ICE MELTED. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED SEVERAL MORE TIMES THE SAME DAY AND CREATED HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS IN WHICH THE ENGINE WAS BARELY ABLE TO RUN AND WAS VERY ROUGH. UPON REACHING AN AREA WHERE THE AIR WAS DRY, IT RAN FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERYTIME, I HAVE OPERATED THE VEHICLE IN COOL/MOIST CONDITIONS, YET HONDA CLAIMS THAT THEY KNOW OF NO PROBLEM ON THIS MODEL WITH CARBURETOR ICE. MY CONTACT WITH OTHER OWNERS OF THIS MODEL VIA INTERNET, INDICATES THAT MANY OWNERS OF THIS MODEL HAVE CARBURETOR ICE PROBLEMS UNDER THE CONDITIONS I HAVE DESCRIBED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC AND VERY INCONVENIENT AT ANY OTHER TIME. *AK
A SUDDEN SURGE OCCURS WITHOUT APPLYING GAS PEDAL. IF THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE WILL REV VERY HIGH. VEHICLE HAS TO BE TURNED OFF TO GET IT TO STOP REVVING. DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *AK
HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN 4 TIMES AND THEY JUST RESET IT. THEY KEEP ON TELLING THAT THERE'S NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM YET. THEY CONTACTED THE HEADQUARTERS, AND THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO SATISFY ME. I DO NOT FEEL CONFORTABLE ABOUT MY CAR BECAUSE I HAVE TO MISS WORK AND SCHOOL SO MUCH FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND YET THEY DO NOT DO ANYTHING. THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I THINK I HAVE A LEMON AND I DON'T LIKE THE WAY THEY ARE TREATING THIS SITUATION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH SUDDEN ACCELERATION OCCURRED, FULL THROTTLE, THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL, NO BRAKES, CRASH OCCURRED. DEALER NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH DRIVER'S SIDE/ PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. THE DEALER DOESN'T KNOW WHY THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
JUST FINISHED WASHING CAR AT THE TOUCHLESS CAR WASH. PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, WENT OVER A METAL BUMP AT THE END OF THE CAR WASH AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WASN'T EVEN GOING 1 MPH.
CJONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35-45MPH WHEN THE SRS LIGHT CAME ON . CONSUMER HAD THE RECALL #98-V-321 FOR AIR CONDITIONER WIRING HARNESS, REPAIRED EARLY IN NOVEMBER 98. *AK
WHEN STARTING UP THE VEHICLE WILL OVERHEAT, AND THE CONSUMER CAN SMELL WIRES BURNING. WHEN TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP THE DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE HAD A SUDDEN ACCELERATION OF 60 TO 70 MPH. CONSUMER DID NOT LOSE CONTROL, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWED DOWN AFTER RUNNING OVER AN OBJECT THAT FLATTENED THE TIRES, AND CONSUMER SHUT ENGINE OFF. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK *NLM
THE DEFECTIVE DEFOGGER SYSTEM CAUSES THE WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP, RESULTING IN VISIBILITY PROBLEMS. ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHEN DRIVING AT 65 MPH TO 70 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOORBOARD, AND THE CONSUMER REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID'NT DEPLOY. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN OCTOBER OF 1998 AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT RECALLED. HOWEVER, CONSUMER RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE (98V-231) ON MAY OF 1999 AND CALLED THE 800 NUMBER ON THE RECALL AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED. THE RECALL WAS FOR A WIRE HARNESS THAT COULD SHORT CIRCUIT, AND CAUSE POSSIBLE FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. POSSIBLE INJURIES MAY HAVE OCCURED DUE TO FALSE INFORMATION FROM DEALER. *YC

FRONT AND THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS KEEP WEARING OUT. CONSUMER HAS TO KEEP REPLACING THE ROTORS. *AK CONSUMER STATED HE HAS SPENT OVER $800.00 IN 8 MONTHS REPLACING REAR AND FRONT ROTORS.*JB
VEHICLE FIRE DUE TO FAILURE OF RECALL COMPONENT (WIRING HARNESS) PRIOR TO NOTICE.
BATTERY WENT OUT, AND TWO FUSES HAD TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE AIR CONDITIONER IS BLOWING OUT HEAT, MAKING THE VEHICLE HOT, AND THE DEALER CAN'T FOUND THE PROBLEM. *AK
HAD VEHICLE IN DEALERS FOR OIL CHANGE, MECHANIC NOTICED LEAKAGE FROM STEERING RACK & PINION (FRONT END), PANEL LIGHTS FAILED TO COME ON FOR WARNING FOR MAINTENANCE. *AK *JB
CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO TURN OFF WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON TURNED OFF. BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED TO SLOW OR STOP VEHICLE. ONLY WHEN PARKING BRAKE WAS APPLIED DID VEHICLE SLOW.
