MY DAUGHTERS CAR WAS PARKED AND RUNNING WHEN HER FRIEND CLOSED THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I CONTACTED A LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE SIDE CURTAIN SYSTEM BUT THERE WAS FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG(TAKATA). RECALL #16V-056
2008 HONDA ACCORD EX-L V6. ENGINE FAILURE. HEADING HOME AND CAR CUT OFF. PULLED OVER AND CALLED MY MECHANIC FOR A TOW TO HIS SHOP. HIS DIAGNOSIS WAS ENGINE FAILURE AND HE STATED A NEW ENGINE IS THE ONLY FIX. MY MECHANIC RUNS A SMALL SHOP IN A SMALL TOWN AND HE TELLS IT LIKE IT IS. HE RECOMMENDED SELLING THE CAR FOR SCRAP RATHER THAN INVESTING IN THE NEW ENGINE. I WAS UPSET. THIS IS A NICE CAR AND IS QUITE CLEAN. BUT DURING MY FIVE YEARS OF OWNERSHIP I HAVE ADDED OIL EVERY WEEK TO KEEP IT TOPPED OFF. SPARK PLUGS FOULED OFTEN ENOUGH TO CARRY EXTRAS IN THE TRUNK ALONG WITH A RATCHET AND SOCKET. WHEN THEY FOULED I WOULD PULL OVER, CHANGE THEM AND GO ON MY WAY. I STILL OWN THE CAR. BUT IT IS HAS TOO MANY MILES AND IS TOO OLD FOR INCLUSION INTO THE CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT. THIS ISN'T RIGHT AND IT'S THE FIRST AND LAST HONDA I WILL EVER OWN.
PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AFTER CHILD EXITED VEHICLE AND CLOSED DOOR. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND RUNNING. CHILD CLOSED DOOR WITH MORE FORCE THAN NORMAL.
THE VTC ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS NOT MERELY DEFECTIVE, BUT WAS A DESIGN DEFECT, FOR WHICH THERE HAD BEEN RECALLS FOR OTHER/LATER MODELS YEARS. I CONFIRMED THIS WITH A GOOGLE SEARCH. I WAS TOLD THAT, WERE THE PART NOT REPLACED, THE DAMAGE COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. COST - OVER $600. I COMPLAINED TO HONDA OF AMERICA, AND SOUGHT REIMBURSEMENT. THEY DENIED IT, SAYING IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. CAR HAS ABOUT 88,000 MILES AND WARRANTY WAS FOR 5 YEARS AND 30,000 MILES. HOWEVER, HONDA OF AMERICA REPRESENTATIVE SAID HE WOULD SUE HONDA IF IT WERE HIM. I SHOULD RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT, AND THERE SHOULD BE RECALL ON THIS PART.
DEFECTIVE VTC ACTUAFTOR. HONDA & DEALER KNEW BY 2011 THAT THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE AND DEFECTIVELY DESIGNED, AND SHOULD HAVE RECALLED IT. NOW, IN SPITE OF BEING "OUT OF WARRANTY," THEY SHOULD REPLACE OR REIMBURSE. I DID REPLACE AND AM SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT, SO FAR DENIED.
I HAD TO CRASHES AND NOONE OF THE TWO ACCIDENTS THE AIR BAGS CAME OUT THE SUPENSION DONT KNOW WHAT ITSACTALY HAPPEN ITS REALLY DAMAGE.AND ALSO THE BRAKES OF THE CAR
THE FRONT HEADRESTS ARE UNBEARABLY UNCOMFORTABLE BECAUSE THEY STICK SO FAR FORWARD THAT THEY GIVE YOU A NECK ACHE. WE HAD TO TURN OURS AROUND IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO STAND DRIVING THE CAR OR BEING A PASSENGER. ALSO, THE POWER ADJUSTABLE SEAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS DESIGNED SO THAT YOU CAN'T ADJUST THE FRONT OF THE SEAT LOW ENOUGH TO TAKE PRESSURE OFF THE BACK OF YOUR THIGHS. THE SEAT PADDING ALSO COMES UP TOO MUCH ON EACH SIDE OF YOUR BODY CAUSING HIP PAIN. IN ORDER TO TRY AND BE COMFORTABLE YOU HAVE TO TRY AND PUT THE SEAT BACK, BUT THE BACK OF THE SEAT IS POORLY DESIGNED TOO. THERE'S JUST NO COMFORTABLE POSITION WITH THIS SEAT!!!!!!! THIS SEAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND ANOTHER MORE COMFORTABLE ONE INSTALLED INSTEAD...BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. MY 1999 ACCORD HAS A SUPER COMFORTABLE SEAT AND HEAD REST...WHY DID THEY DO SUCH A BAD THING IN CHANGING THE DESIGN SO DRASTICALLY. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS..IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET. IF I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR, BUT ONLY FOR THAT REASON. OTHER THAN THAT, IT'S A REALLY NICE MODEL. SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!
FROM READING ONLINE, IT APPEARS I'M ONE OF MANY WHO HAVE A VTC ACTUATOR ISSUE. HONDA SERVICE PEOPLE NEVER KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT EVEN THOUGH IT'S IN A BULLETIN 09-010 FROM HONDA. ENGINE HAS LOUD COUGH SOUND UPON STARTING THE CAR, AFTER BEING OFF FOR 6 HOURS OR SO. THIS SHOULD BE PART OF A RECALL & CUSTOMERS SHOULDN'T BE CHARGED FOR THIS BUT THAT'S OBVIOUSLY WHAT THEY WANT TO DO TO US.
TAKATA RECALL - HONDA SENT A NOTICE INDICATING THAT THE PASSANGER AIRBAG RECALL REPAIR WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES TO COMPLETE. LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ARE STATING THE REPAIR TAKES 5-6 HOURS. HONDA IS NOT OFFERING OWNERS ANY ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORATION (I.E. RENTAL VEHICLES). BBB HAS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FILED BY FRUSTRATED CUSTOMERS TO THIS END. HONDA NEEDS TO INCUR ALL REASONABLE EXPENSES TO MAKE THESE VEHICLES SAFE FOR CONSUMERS.
"TAKATA RECALL" - HONDA MAILED A NOTICE OF AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL TO HAVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED. THE LETTER STATES THAT IT TAKES APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES TO HAVE THIS REPAIR PERFORMED; HOWEVER, MY NEAREST HONDA DEALER STATED THIS REPAIR WOULD TAKE 5-6 HOURS. OWNERS ARE THEN FORCED TO FIND MEANS TO PERFORM THEIR DAILY COMMUTE WITHOUT THEIR VEHICLE, WHICH SHOULD NOT BE THE OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FINANCE.
I BOUGHT A USED HONDA ACCORD LX SEDAN WITH 55000 MILES AFTERWARDS I SEARCHED FOR RECALLS AND I HAD 3 2 FOR AIR BAGS 1 FOR NOSE MASK BUT NOSE MASK DIDN'T COME ON CAR. I CALLED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER FOR AN APPOINTMENT APRIL 24 2017 I CAME IN AT 815AM THEY SAID THEY COMPLETED THE 2 AIR BAG RECALLS AT 1PM MY PROBLEM IS THE NEXT DAY I LOOKED UP MY VIN TO SEARCH TO SEE IF MY RECALLS WERE GONE AND EVERY WEBSITE I TYPED MY VIN IN STILL SAYS MY RECALLS ARE DUE? I RECHECK TODAY APRIL 26TH AND IT STILL SAYS I HAVE OPEN RECALLS WHY HASN'T IT UPDATED IF ON THE WEBSITE IT SAYS IT'S UPDATED BUT HONDA DEALER REPAIRED IT 2 DAYS AGO ?

THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUES. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT AND VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
3.5 V-6 ENGINE RATTLING LOUDLY
SON DRIVING AT SPEED OF 30-35 MPH AND DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED. ROAD WAS SMOOTH, NO POTHOLES OR DEBRIS. TOWED CAR TO HONDA DEALERSHIP WHO INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY RECALLS OR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES EVEN THOUGH SERVICE TECH FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE DEPLOYMENT.. COST TO REPAIR $8500. CHOSE TO TRADE CAR IN AND PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE (NOT A HONDA).
CAR SPORADICALLY DYING (ELECTRICALLY AND ALL) WHILE IN DRIVE OR IN MOTION OF FORWARD DRIVING (WHILE GOING 30 + MPH) AND THEN JUST AS SPORADICALLY TURNING ITSELF BACK ON. MAKES CHAIN DRAGGING SOUND SIMILAR TO WORN BRAKE PADS BUT THE SOUND WILL CHANGE PITCHES WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 0-43MPH. AFTER 43 MPH IT NO LONGER MAKES ODD SOUNDS BUT AS SOON AS DECELERATION BEGINS IT IS AT RISK TO EITHER TEMPORARILY "DIE' OR SLIGHTLY JERK AND ALMOST "DIE". THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING UP TO 20 TIMES WITHIN 3 MILES AND THE FIRST TIME IT "DIED" WAS WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND FULLY STOPPING. IT HAS NOT DONE IT FOR THE LAST COUPLE DAYS AND LOCAL MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE IT AS THE BATTERY WAS IN GREAT CONDITION AND EVERYTHING APPEARED TO BE PLUGGED WHERE IT SHOULD BE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE SPEED SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT THE VSA MODULATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE YAW RATE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

ENGINE IS BURNING OIL, AMERICAN HONDA STATES I AM NOT IN TSB #11-033, BUT THEY JUST TOLD ME MY PASSENGER AIR BAG IS INVOLVED IN THE TAKATA RECALL, TRANSMISSION 1-2 SHIFT DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, A TRACTOR TRAILER CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE, WHICH THEN CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BRUISED SHOULDER, HEAD, FOOT, AND CHEST THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V346000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
LOSING BRAKING POWER AND PEDAL NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY CONTINUALLY GETTING AIR IN BRAKE LINES FROM FAULTY ABS VSA MODULAR PUMP THIS HAPPENS WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WHILE IN MOVING TRAFFIC
MY SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHEN I HIT A VERY DEEP POT HOLE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT THEY SAID THEY CANNOT HELP BECAUSE IT'S NOT ON A RECALL BUT THERE APPARENTLY IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE AIRBAGS ARE NOW HANGING IN MY CAR. IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THESE WILL OBVIOUSLY NOT WORK. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THESE FIXED AS IT CLEARLY IS A MALFUNCTION ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH OVER A SPEED BUMP, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING THE DRIVER TO HAVE HIS VISION IMPAIRED AND STRUCK A PARKED VEHICLE WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES BUT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED PER THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V346000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V056000 (AIR BAGS). THE LOCAL DEALER (CARZONE USED CAR SALES BALTIMORE MD LOCATED AT 5928 REISTERSTOWN RD, BALTIMORE, MD) WAS INFORMED DURING THE PROCESS OF LOOKING FOR A NEW VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
NO PROBLEM YET, BUT I'M TOLD ON THE RECALL WEBSITE THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN THE SAME SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2016 AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED. I THOUGHT THIS RECALL REMEDY WAS SUPPOSED TO OCCUR IN THE FALL OF 2016. WHY AM I NOT GETTING THE OPTION TO FIX THIS?

AFTER FIXING TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL FOR HONDA ACCORD 2008 SEDAN, SRS AIR BAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON AND STAYS ON EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS IN DRIVE MODE. GILLMAN HONDA (SAM HOUSTON PKWY, HOUSTON TX) WANTS TO CHARGE FOR DETECTION AND FIXING OF THE ISSUE. I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO TO HONDA MOTORS AMERICA TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE SINCE THIS IS A "SAFETY" ISSUE BUT THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED YET. I REQUEST NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE SINCE SO MANY HONDA CARS HAVE "SRS LIGHT COME ON" ISSUES. IN MANY CASES AS I HAVE READ ON ONLINE FORUMS AND BLOGS THE DETECTION IS 1. DRIVER SIDE WIRE HARNESS PROBLEM 2. DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE SENSOR. HONDA MOTORS SHOULD COVER THIS ISSUE AS A PART OF LIFETIME WARRANTY AND A SAFETY RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY ON HONDA CARS WITH SUCH KNOW PROBLEMS.
ENGINE SEIZED....MECHANIC FOUND NO OIL IN ENGINE....OIL LIFE STILL SHOWED 40%....NO OTHER WARNINGS REGARDING LOW OIL.

I HAVE A 2008 HONDA ACCORD EX-L WHICH I BOUGHT NEW WITH 153000 MILES. IT STARTED USING OIL SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. AFTER MY LAST OIL CHANGE I CHECKED THE OIL AT ABOUT 1000 MILES AND IT WAS OVER 2 QUARTS LOW WHICH I REPLACED AND CHECKED IT AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 600 MILES AND FOUND IT TO BE OVER A QUART LOW. I HAVE THE OIL & FILTER CHANGED EVER 5000 MILES AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
TURNED INTO A PARKING SPACE IN A PARKING LOT, IN MOTION AT SLOW PARKING LOT SPEEDS, WHEN BURST OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OCCURRED. PUSHED DOWN ON THE BRAKES, BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT END UP STOPPING THE CAR OR EVEN SLOWING DOWN THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. THIS MADE ME THEN GO TO TURN THE CAR OFF WITH THE KEYS, BUT NOT BEFORE THE CAR ALREADY HAD WENT BEYOND THE PARKING SPACE BUMPER AND INTO THE WALL. A WALL WINDOW WAS BROKEN AND THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS RUINED. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. INSURANCE DID NOT CHECK THE CAR FOR ERROR CODES AND FILED OFF THE SITUATION AS A TOTAL LOSS, PAYING OFF THE REST I OWED ON THE CAR WITH THE DEDUCTIBLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV EXCESSIVELY AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR FAILED DUE TO THE TIMING CHAIN BEING DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
THERE IS A SHARP METAL EDGE THAT I ASSUME IS PART OF THE INTERNAL SEAT FRAME THAT HAS SLICED THROUGH THE SEAT FOAM AND THE SEAT FABRIC ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT AND PRESSES AGAINST THE BODY OF THE DRIVER. NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURED YET, BUT I DON'T RELISH THE THOUGHT OF THIS BEING SHOVED INTO MY SHOULDER BLADE IF I WERE TO GET HIT FROM BEHIND.

I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON 11/22 IN REGARDS TO AN SRS ECU RECALL AND WAS INFORMED THAT REPAIR WOULD ONLY BE COMPLETED AFTER A UNIT FAILURE. ACCORDING TO THE HONDA RECALL NOTICE THE REPAIR SHOULD BE COMPLETED ON 100% OF EFFECTED VEHICLES AS A PREVENTIVE REPAIR. HONDA STATED PARTS WOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE IN FALL 2016 FOR ALL EFFECTED VEHICLES. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT FOR VEHICLE SAFETY AND DO NOT WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES WITH THE SAFETY OF ME AND MY FAMILY.
TAKATA RECALL, WE BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR OVER 16,000 AT GORMLEYS AUTOMOTIVE. AFTER GETTING IT HOME THERE WERE CERTAIN REPAIRS THAT WE NEEDED ASAP. THE CAR WAS DEFINITELY IN A PREVIOUS ACCIDENT AS WE COULD SEE WHEN THE PAINT CHIPPED THAT THERE WAS THE ORIGINAL HONDA WHITE UNDERNEATH. THE CAR HAS 3 RECALLS. LIGHTS COME ON THAT DO NOT MAKE SENSE AND EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T RECEIVE A MANUAL, I LOOKED THINGS UP ON THE INTERNET. THE ENGINE BELT RUMBLES, THE SUSPENSION IS WAY OFF, THE LEATHER SEATS AND SIDEARMS HAVE RIPPED BECAUSE THEY WERE REPLACED BY CHEAP PARTS. THE CAR LOAN IS FOR 331.00 MONTHLY AND STILL IS OWED A SIGINIFICANT AMOUNT ON. STEWARD FINANCIAL HARASSES WITH PHONE CALLS IF YOU ARE AN HR LATE ON A PAYMENT. UNACCEPTABLE. I AM DISABLED AND CAN BARELY MAKE ENDS MEET. I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR A CAR THAT RUNS LIKE A HOOPDEE WHEN ITS SUPPOSED TO RUN LIKE A HONDA. TURNING IT DOES NOT GRAB THE ROAD, STATIONARY THE ENGINE RUMBLES. I AM A FEMALE SO I DO NOT KNOW TO MUCH ABOUT CARS. DASHBOARD VCS LIGHT IS ON AND ENGINE SYMBOL. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND IF VEHICLE IS OPERATING CORRECTLY, SERVICE TECHNICIAN CAN'T FIND ANY FAULTS. THIS CONDITION IS FRIGHTFUL THIS PROBLEM EXISTS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS OVER CITY STREETS AND EXPRESSWAYS. I'VE OBSERVED THAT WHEN ENGINE IS IDLING, DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR WILL MAXIMIZE THE R.P.M. HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION AND ENGINE COLD MAKING NOISE. HONDA REPAIRED THIS ISSUE 2 TIMES IN THE PAST UNDER WARRANTY, ISSUE A EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT EXPIRES AND THE ISSUED HAS HAPPENDED A THIRD TIME.HONDA KNOWS THE ISSUE IS HAPPENING TO THE CARS AND ALL HONDA DOES IT FIX IT UNTIL THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY
CAR LOST POWER AND NEARLY STALLED WHEN SITTING AT A RAILROAD CROSSING INTERSECTION. THIS WAS LATER CONFIRMED TO BE A OIL LEAK INTO THE PISTONS THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO MISFIRE. CAR WOULD NOT RUN SMOOTHLY AND NEARLY STALL WHEN DRIVING UP TO 50MPH.
