I PURCHASED THIS HONDA ACCORD FROM AUTOMAXX OF SUMMERVILLE IN GOOD FAITH FROM DEALER STATING THAT VEHICLE PASSED ALL THEIR INSPECTIONS (INCLUDING BRAKE SYSTEM). I FOUND OUT WITHIN 2 WEEKS LATER BY TAKING IT TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP, THAT THE BRAKES, BRAKE LINES, CALIPER, EXHAUST SYSTEM ARE ALL AFFECTED BY SEVERE, DAMAGING RUST. DURING INSPECTION, INCLUSIVE WERE STICKING CALIPER. I HAD FRONT BRAKES REPLACED; BUT DUE TO RUST, TECHNICIAN HAD TO BAM & FORCE BRAKES LOSE. I WAS INFORMED OF THE RISKS WITH SEVERE RUSTING CAUSING PARTS TO BRAKE AND FAIL. NEW BRAKES WOULD NOT INSTALL PROPERLY AFTER OLD, SEATED BRAKES CAME OFF. WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND STOPPING, THE BRAKE SYSTEM MAKES NOISE, AND SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING COMING APART DUE TO THE INSECURE FITTING OF BRAKES/ROTORS/CALIPERS, WHICH ALL HAVE A GREAT BUILD UP OF RUST. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH AGO IN THESE CONDITIONS. IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO SELL SUCH VEHICLES THAT POSE SAFETY RISK IN BRAKE SYSTEM. HONDA INSPECTION SUGGESTED THAT RUST WAS SO SEVERE THAT CAR COULD HAVE POSSIBLY BEEN DAMAGED BY SALT WATER/SNOW/ICE OR FLOOD. CAR ORIGINATED FROM UP NORTH. RE-SALE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.
TAMARA RECALL HAS BEEN NEEDED FOR MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD SINCE 2015. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER, OCEAN HONDA, IN VENTURA NUMEROUS TIMES TRYING TO SCHEDULE REPAIRS. EACH TIME, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS. NEWS REPORTS ARE URGING PEOPLE IN HIGH HEAT OR HUMID AREAS SUCH AS THE AREA IN WHICH I LIVE TO NO LONGER DRIVE THEIR RECALLED CARS UNTIL REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED DUE TO THE SERIOUS HAZARD. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED REGARDING THE CONTINUED DELAY. I TRANSPORT MY GRANDCHILDREN OFTEN, AND FEAR FOR THEIR SAFETY AS WELL MY OWN. THE RENTAL CAR OPTION BEING OFFERED IS EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT. I AM ALREADY ON A LONG LIST OF PATRONS WAITING TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR WORK. I AM CONCERNED THAT AS THE DELAYED DELIVERY OF REPAIR PARTS IS EXTENDED THAT MY ABILITY TO HAVE THIS WORK DONE WILL BE FURTHER DELAYED, EXTENDING THE TIME OF RISK OR INJURY TO MYSELF AND PASSENGERS. I WISH TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AS TO THE SERIOUS NATURE OF THE RECALL PROBLEM AND THE CONTINUED DELAY DUE TO THE INADEQUATE SUPPLY OF REPLACEMENT PARTS AT LOCAL DEALERSHIPS. THIS SITUATION NEEDS PROMPT RESOLUTION.
WHILE SITTING IN THE CAR THE INTERIOR SUN VISOR MOUNTING UNEXPECTEDLY CAME LOOSE AND THE VISOR SUDDENLY DROPPED. HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WAY THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM ON SOME TOYOTA VEHICLES AND SEVERAL OTHER HONDA OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES.
MY CAR HAS 21,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT THE NOISE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR WAS MY BRAKE PAD WEAR SENSORS. THEY STARTED SQUEALING 1,000 EARLIER BUT I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS THE WEAR SENSORS MAKING THE NOISE BECAUSE THEY SQUEALED WHILE DRIVING. THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY BRAKE DRAG UNLESS THE CALIPERS WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I DID FIND OUT ON THE INET THAT THE SLIDER PINS WERE REVERSED AND THAT WAS WHY THERE WAS DRAG ON THE BRAKES. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND ALSO CAUSES LESS FUEL EFFICIENCY SINCE THE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED ALL OF THE TIME. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AT THE REQUEST OF HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT I HAD NO BRAKE PADS LEFT. I CALLED HONDA BACK AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT ON A RECALL LIST ACCORDING TO MY VIN BUT ALL OF THE ARTICLES THAT I READ ON THE INET SAID THAT OVER 750,000 OF ALL 2008-2009 AND EARLY 2010 ACCORDS AND ACURA TSX HAD THE SLIDER PINS REVERSED. THERE IS A DOCUMENT ISSUED BY HONDA THAT COMES WITH THE NEW FIXED BRAK PADS FOR THE REAR WHEELS STATES THAT THE SLIDER PINS NEEDS TO BE REVERSED AND THE SMOOTH PIN SHOULD BE ON TOP. MINE WERE ORIGINALLY INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY REVERSED. TAKATA RECALL NOTICE IN JULY TELLING ME NOT TO HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. I HAVE A LARGE FAMILY, WHEN WILL THIS BE RESOLVED? THEY SEND A LETTER TO COVER THEMSELVES FROM A LAW SUIT BUT THAT'S IT.
TAKATA RECALL - CONCERN THAT THIS RECALL IS NOT BEING ADDRESS IN A TIMELY MATTER AS IT IS A DIRECT PERSONNEL SAFETY CONCERN. WARNING OWNERS DOES NOT ELIMINATE RESPONSIBILITY. THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN SOUTH FLORIDA WHERE LIKELIHOOD OF DEFECT IS GREATEST.
WE TOOK THE CAR IN ON 7-27-16 FOR THREE RECALLS, ONE WAS PERFORMED. AT THIS TIME WE ARE TOLD NO PASSENGERS IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. WE WERE TOLD THE PARTS WILL BE IN 2-3 WEEKS, IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO MONTHS. WE CANNOT GET ANY RESPONSE FROM ROCK HONDA IN FONTANA, CA. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA - CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY INFORMED THE NEXT UPDATE WILL NE IN LATE FALL 2016 - POSSIBLE THE END OF DECEMBER 2016. WE CANNOT SELL OR TRADE THIS CAR IN - WE PURCHASE BRAND NEW IN 2008. IT HAS BEEN WELL KEPT AND KNOW WE UNABLE TO USE AS INTENDED. WHO WANTS TO RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT WHEN ONLY TWO PERSONS IN THE CAR. THIS IS EMBARRASSING WE HAVE LEFT THE CAR PARKED MORE THAN USED. ONE OF THE RECALLS IS IF YOU SLAM THE DOORS WHEN ENGINE IS ON THE AIR BAGS CAN DEPLOY. THE OTHER IS IF AIR BAG DEPLOYS IT MAY CAUSE METAL FRAGMENTS TO INJURY PERSONS IN CAR. THIS IS OUT 4TH HONDA - WE OWN A 2016 PILOT NOW, JUST TRADED A 2011 HONDA CRV. HAD A 2009 ACCORD WE TRADED FOR THE 2008 ACCORD WE HAVE NOW. THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 52 MPH. THIS RESULTED IN THE DESTRUCTION OF THE ENGINE AT 119000 MILES ON A CAR THAT HAS HAD ALL RECOMMENDED SERVICES PROCEDURES PERFORMED. THIS VEHICLE HAS A TIMING CHAIN NOT A BELT.

YELLOW SAC SPIDER BLOCKING VENTING OF FUEL TANK YELLOW SAC SPIDER BUILT NEST IN EVAP SYSTEM CAUSING BLOCKAGE AND TRIGGERING A DTC CODE P2422 (EVAP CANNISTER VENT SHUT VALVE CLOSE MALFUNCTION). THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR 2008 AND 2009 HONDA ACCORDS AND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 08-087 HAD BEEN ISSUED TO DEALERS. OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERS, NOTABLY MAZDA AND TOYOTA, ISSUED RECALLS TO DEAL WITH YELLOW SAC SPIDER PROBLEMS. HONDA TREATED IT AS A WARRANTY ISSUE AND MIGHT MAKE A PARTIAL PAYMENT FOR OUT OF WARRANTY CLAIMS. THE FIX IS TO INSTALL A SPRING IN THE VALVE TO PREVENT SPIDER NESTS. A BLOCKED VENT LINE CAN CAUSE EXCESSIVE PRESSURE IN THE GAS TANK LEADING TO LEAKAGES OR WORSE. UNLESS A SPRING IS INSTALLED, ANY HONDA ACCORD MODEL YEARS 2008 AND 2009 CAN HAVE THIS PROBLEM. YELLOW SAC SPIDERS ARE FOUND IN 49 STATES, CANADA AND MEXICO.

FOR THE PAST YEAR WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SEATBELT LIGHT HAD BEEN APPEARING AND DISAPPEARING. HONDA HAS DONE ALL MAINTENANCE ON MY CAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN 2011. ON 6/14/16 I TOOK MY CAR IN BECAUSE THE LIGHT WASNT GOING OFF. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT IT WAS A SRS WARNING AND MY VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I WAS DISTRAUGHT TO FIND OUT THAT I HAD BEEN DRIVING AROUND ALL THIS TIME WITH MY SON AND OTHERS IN A DEFECTED CAR. BOMMARITO HONDA IN HAZELWOOD REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED MAY OF 2015. I COULDN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT MYSELF. SADLY THEY EVEN HAD A NOTE IN THE SYSTEM FORM FEBRUARY 2016 THAT THE SRS LIGHT WAS ON BUT NO ONE EVER INFORMED ME OF THE DANGER I WAS IN. SO I AM AGAIN DRIVING IN A UNSAFE VEHICLE BECAUSE HONDA AND THE SHOP MANAGER MATT FAIR DID NOT FEEL THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE.

THE DOOR PANELS OF ALL ACCORDS IVE NOTICED THE INSIDE DOOR PANELS PEELS VERY BAD. I TOOK MY CAR TO MAACO AND HE SAID HE HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW LIKE THAT. IT COST ME 572.00 TO REPAIR IT WITH REAL LEATHER. AND THE LEATHER SEATS PEELS ALSO. I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT MY CARS UP INSIDE AND OUT.IT UPSETS ME SO MUCH BECAUSE THESE CARS ARE SO PRETTY AND EASY TO MAINTAIN AS FAR AS MAINTANENCE
