CAR HAS BEEN WITH MECHANICS FOR DAY 3 NOW THEY THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS AT 1ST TIMING BELT WENT TO REPLACED IT FOUND OUT IT WAS NOT THAT ISSUE THOUGHT IT WAS A SENSOR WAS NOT THAT AS WELL NOW TOLD BY HONDA THAT IT IS CAMSHAFT, I'VE ALWAYS MAINTAINED MY VEHICLES AND OIL CHANGES ONLY A 150000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. THIS IS EXTREMELY STRESSFUL I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR FROM DEAN HONDA IN 2017
OIL IS ENTERING COMBUSTION CHAMBER CAUSE BLUE SMOKE TO COME OUT OF EXHAUST AT TIMES. SEEING OIL CONSUMPTION UNDER 1000 MILES OF TRAVEL AT LEAST 1QT OF OIL CONSUMPTION.
MY CAR HAS A HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM, WHICH IS CAUSING RATTLING SOUND TO COME FROM THE ENGINE. I'M AFRAID THAT MY ENGINE MIGHT CATCH FILE BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, AND THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL AS WELL. I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM TO THE HONDA DEALER FROM PAST TWO YEARS, BUT THEY NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT THE RECALL AND WERE ASKING ME MONEY IN THE RANGE OF $3000-$4000 TO FIX IT. NOW WHEN I KNOW THAT IT WAS PART OF THE RECALL, THEY ARE SAYING THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I'VE TO PAY EVERYTHING FROM MY POCKET. WE, AS A CONSUMER, DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE VEHICLE INTERNAL WORKINGS, SO HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO AGREE TO WHATEVER THEY ASK TO CHARGE.
RECENLY PURCHACED THIS 09ACCORD EX COUPE AUTOMATIC 5SPEED 4 CYLINDER FROM A USED DEALERSHIP WITH NO WARRENTY. 3 OR 4 DAYS LATERI NOTICED A BRIEF BUT LOUD RATTLE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ONLY ON COLD START UP. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF POSTS ON THIS ISSUE AND I DEFINETLY CAN BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFTY ISSUE IF THE ENGINE BECOMES DAMAGED WHILD DRIVING WITH THIS ISSUE WITH THE VTC ACTUATOR. I SHOULDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AS THERE IS A TSB ON THE ISSUE THAT CLEARLY STARES IT AS A DEFECT.
MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A FENDER BENDER AS WELL AS AN ACCIDENT AND BOTH TIMES THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR HAD A RECALL IN 2016. THE CAR WAS TAKEN IN FOR THE RECALL AND THE REPAIRS WAS SUPPOSEDLY MADE. THE CAR WAS TOTALED IN THE ACCIDENT. AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING INJURY'S TO MY WIFE AS WELL AS HER BROTHER IN THE CAR. THE INSURANCE DID NOT WANT TO HELP WITH THE MEDICAL BILLS, CAUSING US TO BE IN DEPT AS WELL AS MY WIFE IS STILL AFFECTED BY THIS. IM *TR
AIR BAG WAS REPLACED
DRIVER'S AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER SAID THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE COMPUTER/RECEIVER THAT CAUSES THE AIRBAG TO OPERATE. THEY CHARGED $700 TO REPAIR. MY QUESTION IS WHETHER THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL THAT HONDA SHOULD HAVE PAID FOR.
TAKATA RECALL AIRBAGS ETC
HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR INSPECTIONS OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM WHICH CAME BACK WITH NO ISSUES. REPORTED TO OWNER/CEO OF COMPANY AS WELL. BRAKES DO NOT WORK WHEN USED IN AN EMERGENCY. THE PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR WILL NOT STOP EVEN AFTER PUNCHING THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES. WORSE WHEN ON A DECLINE OF A HILL. I HAVE HAD THE BRAKES REDONE AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED AND ENDED UP IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAULTINESS OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I'M GLAD IT WASN'T WORSE THAN IT WAS BUT THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF CLOSE CALLS. *TR

THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR IS GOING OUT, BUT MAIN COST IS SOFTWARE UP DATE AFTER INSTALLING NEW SENSOR. I FEEL IF YOU GET THE SELL OF SENSOR AND INSTALLATION THE SOFTWARE UPDATE SHOULD BE FREE. BEEN MESSING UP FOR 2 YRS OF THE 3 YEARS I HAVE OWNED IT
SRS LIGHT WENT ON AND STAYED ON. HONDA DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE SRS COMPUTER SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDS REPLACING. STTED THAT THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY UNLESS IT'S REPLACED.

THE VEHICLE STATIONARY WHEN STARTING MAKES LOUD NOISE CAUSED BY THE VTC ACTUATOR IS THE DEFAULTED PART WHICH CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO MALFUNCTION.
COULDN'T GET TRACTION ON LIGHT SNOW-COVERED ROAD. VSA LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND MY CAR WASN'T RESPONDING TO BRAKE TO VSA. I APPLIED MY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN (TO NO AVAIL). NOW MY CAR IS OUT OF CONTROL AND PROCEEDING DOWN A SLIGHT INCLINE TO A STOP SIGN...PICKING UP SPEED ALONG THE WAY.MY BRAKES ARE "TO THE FLOOR" THE WHOLE TIME AS I SLIDE THROUGH INTERSECTION I HAVE MY STEERING WHEEL TURNED RIGHT. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE ENDED UP CRASHING INTO A STREET SIGN & TELEPHONE POLE. I WAS TOLD BY POLICE THAT A CAR THAT SWERVED TO AVOID ME MADE CONTACT WITH MY REAR FENDER AND MY CAR THEN SPUN RIGHT INTO THE POLES. ALSO, NEITHER FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE CONTACT CALLED JIM COLEMAN HONDA AT 443-535-0500 (LOCATED AT 12441 AUTO DR, CLARKSVILLE, MD 21029) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE PER AN UNKNOWN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER REGARDING THE AIR BAGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WANTED THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO INITIATE THE INVESTIGATION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION IS MORE AND CAUSING BURNING OF ENGINE OIL VERY FREQUENTLY. THIS IS CAUSING RATTLING NOISE WHEN ACCELARATING AND WOULD CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO ENGINE AND CAN BE HAZARDOUS IF DRIVING ON HIGHWAY.

I HAD STOPPED AT THE END OF A PRIVATE ROAD AND THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. I WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND ADULT GRANDSON WAS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. HE GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SHUT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HARD. THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. AS WELL AS THE SIDE AIRBAG FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,741.
VTC ACTUATOR IS BAD AND REQUIRES REPLACING ALONG WITH PISTON RINGS, ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. THE COST IS $2400.00. WHILE I KNOW THERE WILL BE THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO AGING VEHICLES, THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF 2008-2013 HONDAS.
RECEIVED A TAKATA INFLATOR RECALL ON MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WHICH WAS FIXED BY THE DEALERSHIP. MY AIR BAG LIGHT STARTED TO COME ON (WHILE VEHICLE IS PARKED OR IN MOTION) AFTER THE REPAIR. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST IS READING ERROR CODE 92-20 WHERE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL GO OFF DURING AN ACCIDENT WHETHER OR NOT A PASSENGER IS IN THE VEHICLE.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM) & CAR STALL AND ENGINE IS SHUDDERING NOW. HONDA WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL BASED ON A VIN #, MY CAR IS DOING WHAT IT STATES IN THE RECALL. SO I GUESS I'M ON THE HOOK FOR A TRANS REPAIR / REPLACE.

I HAVE HAD INTERMITTENT SHORTING OUT WITH MY RADIO AND LOCKS WHILE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE STOPS RUNNING. TOOK IT IN TO GET CHECKED OUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH BATTER OR ALTERNATOR. BRAND NEW BATTERY 2 MONTHS OLD AND IS STILL DOING IT. DIED THIS TIME AFTER ARRIVING TO WORK AND WILL NOT START.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
EACH TIME WHEN I START UP MY CAR, MY CAR STALLS AND MAKES MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. ITS BEEN HAPPENING ALOT SINCE I GOT THE CAR IN JULY.
DRIVER IN 4TH GEAR DRIVING ON A STREET WHEN FRONT PASSENGER TIRE BLEW AS A RESULT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED... IMPACT FROM THE BLOWOUT WAS LOW WITH NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THE CAR OR UNDERCARRIAGE... AIR BAG SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED IN LOW IMPACT SITUATIONS CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES AND POSSIBLY HARMING SLEEPING INFANT IN THE BACK SEAT... CALLED HONDA ABOUT THE ISSUE AND FILED A CLAIM... CLAIM WAS DENIED AND WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAG DID WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOT DAMAGE TO THR RIM OR ANY OTHER PART OF THE CAR OTHER THAN THE BLOWN TIRE. DEBRIS FROM THE AIRBAG AND CEILING COVERED SLEEPING INFANT IN REAR FACING SEAT THAT NEVER WOKE UP BECAUSE IMPACT WAS SO LOW.
The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, noticed the vehicle loosing motive power. The contact stated the check engine and ABS warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, however, it was no diagnosed since the contact refused to pay for it. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, however no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.
OIL CONSUMPTION IN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT.
MY CAR'S SUNROOF EXPLODED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I WAS DRIVING ON AN UNCOVERED STRETCH OF HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60-65 MPH, AND SUDDENLY THERE WAS A LOUD BANG ON MY ROOF, FOLLOWED BY WHAT SOUNDED LIKE GRAVEL BEING DUMPED ON MY CAR. A FEW MINUTES LATER, I OPENED THE SUNROOF SHADE AND SAW THAT THE SUNROOF HAD SHATTERED. THERE WERE NO CARS OR TRUCKS IN FRONT OR ALONG SIDE MY CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED - SO IT WASN'T DUE TO GRAVEL SPUN UP BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WASN'T ANYWHERE NEAR AN OVERPASS - SO THERE'S NO CHANCE SOMETHING WAS DUMPED ON MY CAR. THE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 74 DEGREES - SO NO EXCESSIVE HEAT FROM THE SUN.
UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. HAS OCCURRED 6 TIMES SINCE MARCH 2018. NO COLORATION WITH AMBIENT TEMPERATURE, WEATHER CONDITIONS OR SPEED. SYMPTOM: DRIVING & BRAKING HARD TO SLOW DOWN, PLACE INTO NEUTRAL AND ENGINE REVS UP TO 5K RPM. RESTART CAR AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND ENGINE RUNS FINE, IF SOONER ENGINE REVS BACK TO ABOUT 5K RPM. TAKEN TO SHOP - NO PROBLEM FOUND. HAS ONLY HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS COMING TO A STOP. WAS TRAVELING IN A STRAIT PATH 4 TIMES, TWICE WHEN TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT. NOTE: I TRAVEL BACK ROADS MOSTLY. CAR HAS OVER 110,000 MILES.

THE DRIVER WAS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HIP, LEGS, A TEAR IN HIS LUNGS, HEART DAMAGE, AND MEMORY LOSS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT AND WAS UNINJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE LOCAL DEALER. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.

OCEAN HONDA IS WHERE I TAKE MY HONDA FOR SERVICE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD BEEN COMING ON OVER A YEAR OR SO. I WAS TOLD MY CAR IS USING TOO MUCH OIL AND NEEDED PISTONS, RINGS AND VALVE REPAIR. THAT COST ALMOST $6000.00. FROM RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE GENERATION. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS TOLD BY OTHER MECHANICS THAT I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A NEW ENGINE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS EXPENSIVE. I FOUND INFORMATION THAT THE NHTSA ISSUED A NOTICE TO ADD YEARS TO THE WARRANTY WHICH WOULD COVER MY SITUATION. AS OF THE REPAIR I HAD OWNED THE CAR FOR 6 YEARS. I NEED THE INFORMATION ON TSB A12-087.
THE SRS UNIT HAS FAILED WHICH IS AN ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM IN SOME 2008-2010 HONDA ACCORDS BUT MY PARTICULAR MODEL IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. CONSIDERING THE FAILURE AND THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT FROM HONDA ON THIS EXACT ISSUE, MY CAR SHOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL FREE OF CHARGE. I CAME TO KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT BEING ON.

THERE WAS A LAWSUIT IN 2013, BUT HONDA SAID I DIDN'T QUALIFY TO GET MY ENGINE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS VIN # SPECIFIC AND STATE SPECIFIC. WHICH IS CRAP. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA. QUALITY HAS WENT WAY DOWN..

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (HONDA CITY, 501 GRUMMAN RD W, BETHPAGE, NY 11714, (516) 717-4766) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
CALLED THE CAR PLACE SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE WHAT I NEEDED TO DO IN CASE LATER ON MY AIRBAGS DOES NOT DEPLOY IN A CAR WRECK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, ANOTHER VEHICLE TURNED UNEXPECTEDLY IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT 'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STRUCK THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONLY THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A WHIPLASH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED BRUISING FROM THE AIR BAG, AND THE REAR PASSENGER SEATED ON THE RIGHT ALSO SUSTAINED A WHIPLASH. NO ONE RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE INSURANCE COMPANY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DEEMED IT A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER TO DETERMINE WHY THE OTHER AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE SUPPLEMENTARY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT CASE NUMBER: 06594835 WAS OPENED WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V346000 (AIR BAGS). THE RECALL HAD NOT BEEN SERVICED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
AIRBAG RED LIGHT STAYS ON. SHOWED DEALER FOR RECALL. DEALER GOT NO CODE. CHARGED $120. RED LIGHT IS STILL ON! DID NOT FIX IT BECAUSE NO CODE WAS FOUND AND CANNOT REPAIR. RECALL WAS DENIED AND I HAD TO PAY $120 FOR DIAGNOSIS. LIGHTS ARE ALL THE TIME WHEN RUNNING.
