The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, an abnormal sound was coming from the engine with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with oil consumption failure and that the piston rings need to be replaced. The oil was replaced however, the failure recurred. The contact mentioned NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V004000 (Electrical System) as a possible solution to the failure however, the Vin was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,357.

PASSENGER AIR BAG KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF . THERE IS A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT AND BACK LOCKS . THE VCT ACTUATOR HAS GONE BAD ON THE CAR WHICH CAUSE IT TO MAKE A LOUD RATTLE NOISE . THERE IS ALSO SOMETHING UNDER THE CAR THAT'S LOOSEN UNDERNEATH THE CAR WHEN YOU MAKE A TURN YOU HEAR A KNOCKING NOISE . *TR
THE STOCK STEREO WILL MAKE A POPPING ELECTRICAL NOISE AND THE STEREO WILL STOP WORKING. SOUNDS LIKE A PERSON IS BANGING ON THE TRUNK. IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON THE RADIO WILL WORK UNTIL THE NEXT EPISODE. THE RADIO STATIONS USUALLY STOP BEFORE AXILLARY JACK. THE CD PLAYER STOPPED WORKING IN 2018. NEVER HAD THESE ISSUES IN MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD.
140000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION WHEN GOING UP SLIGHT HILLS, ON FREEWAY 65 STRUGGLES OR SLIPS. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THE REQUIRED SERVICES DONE WHEN SUGGESTED. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AROUND 135000 MILES AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE.

I HAVE A RECALL LETTER TO FIX MY CAR ABOUT AIR BAG SEAT
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT, THE CAR WAS HIT HEAD ON, THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY AIR BAGS THAT WAS FIXED A YEAR AGO. I NEED TO KNOW WHY THEY WERE NEVER DEPLOYED AND IF THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED TO THE DEALER THAT THE OIL NEEDED TO BE TOPPED OFF SOON AFTER THE VEHICLE RECEIVED AN OIL CHANGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE VALVE COVER GASKET AND SERPENTINE BELT WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PISTONS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
IN THE PAST 2 YEARS I HAVE REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AND IGNITION COILS TWICE! I HAVE HAD TO TOP OFF MY OIL WITHOUT HAVING OIL LEAKAGE. I HAVE REPLACED MY BATTERY TWICE, AND NOW NEED TO REPLACE MY ALTERNATOR. APPARENTLY, THERE IS A CORRELATION BETWEEN THE OIL AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES.. IT MUST BE GETTING PAST PISTONS SOMEHOW. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE ADDRESSED!

THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS CONFIRMED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO DEFECTIVE PISTON RINGS WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
I TURNED ON MY CAR AND THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A ROUGH SPUTTERING SOUND AND WHEN I STARTED DRIVING, IT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO CUT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPENED I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADDRESSED IT FOR FREE. THE SECOND TIME I PAID A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO HAVE PISTON(S) REPLACED AND HAVE IT CLEANED OUT. ONE OF THE SERVICE MEN AT THE DEALER SAID THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS IT WOULD COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. THAT WAS 3-4 MONTHS AGO AND NOW IT IS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. IN THE APPROXIMATELY 5 YEARS I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR I HAVE REPLACED 2 ALTERNATORS AND AT LEAST 2 BATTERIES. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THIS CAR PREMATURELY BURNS OFF THE OIL IN THE ENGINE. IT IS POOR OIL CONSUMPTION. I WAS TRYING TO TOP OFF THE OIL REGULARLY IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES BUT NOTHING HAS HELPED THIS. PLEASE HAVE HONDA ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH CRUISE SET AT 60; BRAKED & SLOWED TO EXIT ONTO ANOTHER ROAD; WHEN MANUALLY ACCELERATING TO GET UP TO SPEED INITIALLY THE CAR WAS UNRESPONSIVE. SUDDENLY IT TOOK OFF OUT OF CONTROL, AS IF THE CRUISE RESUME WAS HIT (IT WASN'T) AND THE BRAKES WERE NON-RESPONSIVE. ACCELERATION CONTINUED UNTIL REACHING SPEEDS OVER 70 MPH. NOT ONLY WERE THE BRAKES NON-RESPONSIVE DURING THIS UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION EVENT, BUT THE CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO HANDLE. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW AND IT IS IMMACULATELY MAINTAINED.

I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35-40 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN A CAR IN FRONT HAD NO LIGHTS IN FRONT OF ME WAS SLOWING DOWN. I MADE IMPACT WITH THE CAR CAUSING MY HEAD TO HIT THE STEERING WHEEL KNOCKING ME OUT. MANAGER SAID NEEDS AXELS ($1,413) TOO MUCH MONEY. I TOOK IT OTHER PLACE TO CHANGE AXELS. SAME NOISE CONTINUES. 05-2019 - 97,386 MILEAGE TOOK TO DEALER BECAUSE NOISE AND LIGHT ON DASH DEALER SAID NO OIL AND BASED ON WHAT I TOLD SERVICE ADVISOE - ERICK GOMEZ- CAR MISSED THE RECALL DATE FOR BURNING OIL AND NEEDS PISTON RINGS THAT COSTS FEW THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. SINCE THAT DATE I HAVE TO CHECK THE OIL TWO OR THREE TIMES A WEEK AND POUR OIL IF NEED IT BEFORE THE 2,500 OR 3,000 MILEAGE I TOLD HIM THAT EVERY TIME I WENT TO HONDA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THEY LIED TO ME IN REGARDS OF DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM AND I WAS SPENDING MONEY, TIME, STRESS, FRUSTRATION WITHOUT RESULTS. THE HONDA DEALER HAS BEEN NEGLIGENT AND PROCASTINATES IN REGARDS OF THE RECALL ON THE CAR FOR BURNING OIL. THE PROBLEM WAS THERE AND THEY WERE GUESSING ON SOLVE IT, BECAUSE THEY KNEW ABOUT OTHER CARS. ON 10-10-2020 MY FRIEND WAS HELPING ME TO CHECK THE OIL, I TOLD HIM ABOUT MY HONDA PROBLEMS AND WE DECIDED TO LOOK ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE RECALL. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST HONDA, ON 2008 I BOUGHT AT THE SAME DEALER A HONDA ACCORD; I DO NOT RECALL BUT I THINK WAS A 2007 THAT I DROVE FOR FEW YEARS AND I SOLD IT WITHOUT THIS KIND OF PROBLEMS. FOR WHATEVER REASON SINCE I GOT THIS CAR THERE IS SOMETHING EXTREMELY OFF WITH THE LACERATION BEING A BIT DELAYED AND THE CAR STEERING US EXTREMELY DELICATE KEEPING THE CAR NOT STEADY DRIVING IN A SINGLE LANE STRAIGHT WITHOUT GOING LEFT OR RIGHT IS IMPOSSIBLE. VSA AND ABS LIGHT CAME ON OUT OF NOWHERE. CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED
DURING A COLD START, AND CAR IS STATIONARYTHE ENGINE RATTLES FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. I HAVE FOUND OUT PER THE DEALER, THAT THIS PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY THE VTC ACTUATOR. APPARENTLY THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL HAS THIS PROBLEM. HONDA HAS ALWAYS BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND CLAIMS THAT THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR AT A COST OF AROUND 900.00 DOLLARS.HOWEVER THEY CLAIM THAT THIS MAY NOT EVEN CORRECT THE PROBLEM. HONDA WAS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT ANNOUNCED A SO CALLED RECALL KNOWING THAT THIS RECALL WOULD NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT WAS STRICTLY TO COVER THEIR LIABILITY. I FEEL THAT HONDA SHOULD CORRECT THIS PROBLEM FOR MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD AT NO COST TO CONSUMERS. HONDA CORPORATION WAS ALWAYS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT AND STILL CONTINUED TO SELL THIS PARTICULAR MODEL TO CONSUMERS.

there is a rattling noise at start up. it started only when the car would sit over night. now its everytime you turn it off. so it seems to be getting worse. found out that its the vtc actuator. not sure if they have issued a recall for this yet.

TAKATA RECALL..I'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING AND VSA LIGHT. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON BUSY I95 WITH MY INFANT IN THE CAR NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS AFRAID AND I CALL HONDA IMMEDIATELY AND TOOK IT TO HONDA IN DE THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG, THE SECOND TIME IT ALSO HAPPENED ON THE ROAD I RETURNED TO HONDA AND THEY SUGGESTED THAT IT WAS LOW ON OIL WHICH WAS STRANGE BECAUSE I ONLY GET OIL CHANGES FROM HONDA, THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I RETURNED THE CAR BACK TO HONDA AND THEY SUGGESTED THAT IT WAS THE ENGINE AND IT WAS LEAKING OIL AND THE COST WOULD BE $3500. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A FEW HONDA OWNERS AND I FEEL IT SHOULD BE RECALLED BECAUSE THIS IS A OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE OIL LEAKING AND ENGINE AND BEFORE THERE IS A SERIOUS INJURY BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM IT SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY
HAD TO REPLACE THREE IGNITION COILS WITHIN ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS. THEN, ONE OF THE ONES HAD BEEN REPLACED (#1 CYLINDER), DEVELOPED A PROBLEM. MECH TECH INFORMED/SHOWED ME THAT PLUG HAD FOULED - DUE TO POSSIBLE PISTON RING PROBLEM. LEARNED FROM CARS.COM THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH PISTON RINGS OF 2008 - 2012 ACCORDS AND HONDA HAD OFFERED A SPECIAL EXTENDED WARRANTY TO CORRECT THEM. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY HONDA OF THIS CORRECTIVE ACTION, ERGO I MISSED THE EIGHT YEARS AND UNLIMITED MILEAGE FROM THE ORIGINAL VEHICLE-IN-SERVICE DATE DEADLINE (CAR WAS PURCHASED IN JUNE 2010). THE CAR BURNS A LOT OF ENGINE OIL. THERE ARE NO LEAKS, NO ISSUES BUT ITS BURNING SO QUICKLY THAT I HAVE TO PUT 1 LITER OF OIL EVERY 2000-3000 MILES. THE MECHANICS SAY ITS A FACTORY ISSUE AS ALMOST EVERY CAR OF 8TH GENERATION DO THAT.
SRS LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA AND WAS TOLD NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. I HAD AIR BAGS REPLACED LAST YEAR. I HOPE NOTHING HAZARD HAPPENS TO ME OR OTHERS WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
ROOF MOULDING PREMATURELY WEARING OUT/DAMAGE. ALLOWING WATER TO SEEP INTO SEAMS INTO HEADLINER NEAR A-BEAMS OF PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE. WATER ALSO DRIPPED FROM HEADLINER AND STAINED IT, POTENTIALLY DISTRACTING DRIVER FROM ROAD. SIDE AIRBAGS POTENTIALLY EXPOSED TO WATER. PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED AFTER CAR WAS LEFT OUTSIDE DURING RAIN STORM ALLOWING WATER TO POOL ON ROOF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED TWICE IN THE LAST YEAR. THE CONTACT HAD THE SPARK PLUGS REPLACED TWICE, BUT THE ENGINE STILL CONSUMED A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL. THE DEALER (TOM KADLEC HONDA, 3333 WILDER RD NW, ROCHESTER, MN 55901, (507) 281-2500) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE THE RESULTS OF A MONTH LONG OIL CONSUMPTION TEST BASED ON 1,000 MILES. THE DEALER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF ANALYZING THE RESULTS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,857.
CROWN HONDA AT SOUTHPOINT WOULD NOT HONOR APPOINTMENT TIME FOR RECALL REPLACEMENT.
EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING - VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 100K MILES IS BURNING OIL. NO DIPSTICK READING FOR OIL IN ENGINE (FOR EVERY 3,000 MILES DRIVEN). CAR PINGS AND NO OR LITTLE POWER FROM ENGINE DUE TO OIL LOSS. DEALER TEST STATED 1/2QT OF OIL USED EVERY 1,000 MILES. TYPICAL HONDA OIL CHANGE IS EVERY, 7,500 MILES (PER THEIR MANUAL) - IF WAITED THAT LONG NO OIL WOULD BE IN ENGINE. DANGEROUS AND SIGNIFICANT ISSUE - HONDA STATED IT WILL NOT FIX AND STATED 1/2 QT OF OIL BURNED EVERY 1,000 MILES IS NOT EXCESSIVE OR SIGNIFICANT !! - FROM A CAR OWNER, IT IS VERY SIGNIFICANT. COMPOUND THIS WITH THE MONTHS AND MONTHS WAIT FOR THE TAKATA RECALL FOR AIR BAGS ISSUE - THE HONDA 2010 CRV HAS SIGNIFICANT ISSUES. I HAVE A CO-WORKER THAT HAS A 2010 ACURA WITH 300,000 MILES AND OIL LOSS ISSUES.
OCTOBER 2017-CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. VEHICLE WAS SHAKING AND HARD TO DRIVE, PULLED OVER TO SAFE AREA. UNABLE TO MOVE VEHICLE ONCE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF AND ON. TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER. RECALL WAS PREFORMED; COMPUTER UPDATE AND SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED. MAY 2010-CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ONCE IGNITION TURNED ON. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND AIR BAG RECALL. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE KICKED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. HONDA STATES OIL WAS 3 QUARTS TOO LOW. OIL INDICATOR WAS AT 30% AND NEVER WARRANTED LOW OIL. OIL WAS ADDED AND I WAS INSTRUCTED TO COME BACK ONCE I HAVE DRIVEN 1000 MILES TO SEE IF ENGINE IS BURNING OR CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. IF SO, SERVICE STATED AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT MAY BE NEEDED AND COULD BE COSTLY.
TAKATA RECALL. FIRST HONDA RECALL LETTER IN FEB, 2018. "I-79" HONDA SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE PROBLEM ON MARCH 5, 2018. SECOND CARD-LETTER RECEIVED MAY 20, 2018. I CALLED THE DEALER (I-79 HONDA), AND THEY SAID YES, INFLATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (AGAIN!!). WHAT'S GOING ON HERE???
AIRBAG SIGN IS ALWAYS ON EVEN IF NO PASSENGER OR ANY OBJECT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE . THE SIGN COMES ON WHEN THE DRIVER IS SEATED AND THE DOOR IS LOCKED BOTH IN STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS CLOSED WITH FORCE, THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA NATION (1175 E, I-65 SERVICE RD S., MOBILE, ALABAMA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH WHEN THE SUNROOF SHATTERED. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS NOT CROSSING UNDER ANY BRIDGES.
