NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2017 Honda Accord. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Data synced from NHTSA on May 4, 2026
When a passenger is on the car the airbag light will turn on on red like showing that the bag is off os is not working.
ALTERNATOR FAILED AT 35,106 MILES-IT WAS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE
Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are no longer operating as designed. LF Drivers is partially lighting, and RF Passengers has completely failed and no longer lighting.
[235/40R19 96V XL] **I AM IN CANADA, NOT NEW YORK, BUT SINCE YOU ARE THE FOREMOST AUTHORITY ON RECALLS, CANADA USUALLY FOLLOWS*** Tires came with car, brand new, September 2017. In year 2, I noticed a repeated noise coming from the tires and assumed it was the brakes and had them serviced. During my research, I found many articles and complaints from Honda Accord drivers with the similar model and tire set-up as me complaining about this persistent noise from the tires and it was determined that the steel belt inside the tire has loosened or something and is free within the tire, causing this noise. I stumbled upon a NHTSA recall notice on Continental tires for this exact reason, however the year of my car is not included within this recall. This is my request, to have the 2017 model year, where Honda mixed between Michelin tires and Continental tires - and for owners like me to be reimbursed with a new set of tires, free of cost. Per the NHTSA recall, this overheating during the manufacturing process causes the steel belt to become free and could cause a blow out. I would like my car and model of tire and the YOM to be included within this recall notice. https://www.consumerreports.org/car-recalls-defects/continental-general-barum-tires-recalled-for-blowout-risk/
There is currently a recall for 2016 to 2017 honda led lights going out. My led light has gone out and I am being told my vin is not on the list. How is it determined which cars fall under the recall if my car is having the same issue. My car was manufactured with 2016 parts or what ever parts that affect the recall. I was told by honda Corp to pay for diagnostic which I don't think is fair.
If the car sits idle for more than 4 days, the battery dies. The car has 60,000 miles and we are replaced the battery once and it continues to die if it sits for more than 4 days. The car pulls to the right side regardless of how many times I have it balanced. The LED day running light on the driver side front died when the car only had 50,000 miles on it.
When a passenger is on the car the airbag light will turn on on red like showing that the bag is off os is not working.
In 2017 I purchased a new Accord Touring. Shortly after purchase, I noticed the car would stall. I have taken the car back on several occassions to have it checked. Each time I have been told they can not detect anything and can not reproduce the issue. I have nearly been hit on a few occassions. I have also complained about the lane departure feature. It too has automatically and without reason over corrected, nearly causing collisions because it abruptly and without reason self corrected. The automatic breaking system has also enacted and caused unwarranted stopping. When the brake notification warning flashes on the dashboard, has caused me to react by applying pressure to the brakes even when it was unneccessary. This feature seems to wear down the brakes with the sudden and unwarranted stopping; even producing the smell of brakes and tires burning. All of these issues are extremely dangerous and can cause serious injury and even death nearly causing cars to hit me in the back. The lane departure and auto correction has caused the car to over correct and veer into other lanes or even off road. This is extremely concerning as it the auto correction can lasts for seconds and I was unable to stop it or regain steering control of the vehicle. These incidents have happened on several occassions and were reported to the dealership.
My 2017 Accord infotainment system's Apple carplay constantly freezes whenever I use it. This is posing as a safety risk because the infotainment unit would randomly freeze up and require shutting off the car and turning it back on in order for it to work again. There are multiple people experiencing this. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/2016-2017-honda-accord-carplay-issues.2287310/ https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/2016-accord-ex-l-apple-carplay-screen-freezes.554208/page-3#post-6821377
The backup camera on this vehicle stopped working during the summer of 2021 with fewer than 15,000 miles on the vehicle. The failure of the camera was noted on an invoice for an oil change dated July 1, 2021, which I have retained should you want it. At the time, I learned that about 600,000 Hondas from the next two model years had been recalled because of a defect with the backup camera. Attempts to obtain informal accommodation from Honda proved useless, and I ultimately decided to have the camera replaced at a cost of over $550. The service tech verified that the original camera was not working before having it replaced. The invoice is attached and I have retained the original camera should you wish to inspect it.
Backup camera shows black screen with grid lines when engaged. Started out with grainy camera view, then ultimately went completely black. Started around 60k miles.
Fuel rail low pressure. Low miles on this vehicle I bought for my wife. The two fuel pumps they run on 2017 Honda break a lot. Vehicle is now in limp mode until I can get it fixed.
The rear backup camera does not work when the vehicle is put into reverse. The screen goes black and only shows the grid lines of the backup camera viewing area. There are no other issues with the Navigation system, radio display, or other car features and controls displayed on the navigation screen. I took the car into my local Honda Dealer, and they tested the unit and found no electrical shorts or open circuits. Their recommended fix was to replace the entire Navigation System. I researched this issue on the NHTSA web site, and there are two recalls issued for this safety issue of the backup camera screen going black and not working when put into reverse. A NHTSA recall was issued for 2018 Honda Accords and 2019 Insights indicating that faulty software may cause the backup camera to fail. A NHTSA recall was issued for 608,000 Honda SUV's for years 2018 through 2021 that covered Piolts, Passports, and Odysseys indicating that faulty software may cause the backup camera to fail. There are multiple complaints listed on the NHTSA website for 2017 Honda Accords for this backup camera issue but no formal recall has been issued by NHTSA.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the contact became aware of a spare tire in the middle of the roadway. While attempting to avoid driving over the tire, the contact swerved and was struck by the vehicle on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver’s side seat air bag failed to deploy properly. The contact stated that there were holes in the air bag. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and call 911. The contact was later told that no emergency service was available. The contact was informed to drive to the residence. There was no medical treatment at the scene however, the contact did see a doctor for pain in their upper left arm and left hip, and side. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
When Driving the car it will occasionally Brake when another car is passing in the opposite direction My local Honda Service technician can find no problems. When we deactivate t he CMBS(Collision Mitigation Braking System) the problem goes away.
REAR-BACKUP CAMERA WENT BLACK AFTER I DROVE CAR TO PICK UP SON AT FRIENDS HOUSE AT NIGHT CAMERA WORKED, PARKED CAR OVERNIGHT, WENT TO USE CAR NEXT MORNING REAR CAMERA INOP, I THOUGHT IT WAS FUSE SO I CHECKED FUSE, NOT BLOWN.TOOK CAR IN TO HONDA DEALERSHIP 2 DAYS LATER STATED IT WAS P&A DUE TO FAILURE, EST. AT OVER $700 TO REPLACE. VERY UNHAPPY SINCE CAR IS ONLY 4YRS OLD AND ONLY 40K MILES. HOW DO HONDA OWNERS KNOW THAT THIS YEAR CAMERA WAS NOT AFFECTED LIKE THE RECALL ON THE 2018'S. WHAT IF SOME 2017'S HAD THE DEFECTIVE CAMERAS INSTALLED, SO I CALLED HONDA WAS TOLD NO RECALL ON CAMERA, BROUGHT UP THE 2018/ RECALL TO THE REP AND SHE STATED THIS DID NOT AFFECT MY VIN#. I WAS NOT SATISFIED AND WANTED THIS ISSUE TO BE REVIEWED SINCE THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE CAMERA. I FEEL THIS IS AN ISSUE HONDA SHOULD RECTIFY DUE TO IT BEING A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE RECALLS ON OVER THOUSAND OF OTHER CAMERAS IN THEIR OTHER VEHICLES. HONDA SHOULD STAND BY THE OEM PARTS THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE AND CORRECT THE SAFETY ISSUE REGARDING REAR CAMERAS THAT STOP WORKING. THIS IS A MULTI-DOLLAR INDUSTRY BECAUSE OF THE EVERYDAY PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF THAT PURCHASE THESE VEHICLES AND THAT IS WHY I FEEL HONDA SHOULD BE MORE CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF THEY DRIVERS AND OTHERS AROUND THEM AND ADD 2017 MODELS TO THEIR RECALL LIST INSTEAD OF MAKING THE CONSUMER PAY TO AN ABSURD AMOUNT OF MONEY TO FIX AN ISSUE WITH HONDA PARTS. HONDA NEEDS TO STAND BY THE CRAFTSMANSHIP OF THEIR PARTS AND VEHICLES JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BUSINESS AND MAKE IT RIGHT TO THE CONSUMER. I ALSO HAD ISSUES WHERE CAR WOULD FEEL LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE WHILE TURNING AND ACCELERATING, TOOK IT IN AND DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP, MADE IT SEEM LIKE THEY WERE DOING ME A FAVOR TO REPLACE IT SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY ONLY A FEW HUNDRED MILES WHEN IN FACT IT WAS A RECALL ON MY VIN#. IT HAS BEEN FIXED, DID I GET A LEMON?
I have a 2017 Honda Accord, which I purchased new from the dealer. On May 8, 2021, when pulling into my parking space with my foot on the brake, the car suddenly, violently accelerated, jumping the parking curb, crossing the sidewalk, knocking down (1) bush and crashing into another bush when the car finally stopped. I narrowly misses a large tree, the A/C unit in front of my condominium and was very close to running into the exterior wall of my unit. I was pressing the brake the entire time. I immediately put the car in reverse. The bumper needed to be repaired and I was terrified! I researched online to see if anyone else had experienced this sudden acceleration event (SAE) and found a list of 35 other drivers who had experienced the identical SAE while pulling into a parking space. The other incidents indicated that Honda could not find anything wrong with the vehicles, even though this has been a continual complaint. Failure dates were indicated from 2013 - May, 2021 for 2012-2019 Honda Accords. I notified Honda.com of the incident and was assigned a case number but have not received any other communication from them. I made a service appointment at the Honda dealer and was told that I had to wait until June 10th when a Honda engineer would be available to inspect the vehicle and see if they can identify and correct this potentially lethal automotive defect.
BACKUP CAMERA QUIT WORKING. BLACK SCREEN WHEN USING REVERSE. EXCEEDINGLY COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. DANGEROUS TO PEDESTRIANS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN. FUSE IS INTACT. WIRING IS INTACT. NO DAMAGE TO CAMERA.
2017 HONDA ACCORD SPORT SE. HAS BEEN LOSING POWER AND STALLING RANDOMLY. RESTARTS FINE AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING ENGINE OFF.. WHEN IT STARTS TO LOSE POWER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT, AND TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM LIGHT ALL TURN ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED NEARLY 10 TIMES ON THE CITY STREETS GOING 30MPH AND THE FREEWAYS GOING 65+ MPH. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!! IT HAS HAPPENED THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS AND AGAIN EACH OF THE LAST FEW DAYS.
The rear camera system/speaker periodically gives a screeching static sound which was so unbearable until Team Honda (Lafayette, LA) had to disconnect the entire system. I researched this issue and conclude it must be a factory defect because 1) due to the low mileage and infrequent usage of this vehicle 2) the commonalities among other 2017 Honda Accord Drivers with the same issues who are from different regions, and because the speaker works when I plug in my iphone. Team Honda wants me to pay $1200 to install a new one because the original factory system is out of warranty. Should the manufacturer be liable for any parts of this system ? Should I have to pay the cost for a defective vehicle and jeopardize my safety and be left without a radio for safety information, camera, and a GPS? This is not my first Honda and had no issues with the previous one which is another reason why I know this is not human error. Can you please investigate this and share with me your findings. I paid $99 for them to disconnect my audio visual system on my car and received no explanation about the error. Thanks.
THE BACK UP CAMERA JUST QUIT WORKING IT'S A BLACK SCREEN WHEN YOU PUT TO REVERSE
The rear view backup camera blacked out and stopped working with only 40,000 miles
THE REAR CAMERA HAS STOPS AND STARTS WITHOUT WARNING WHEN I PUT VEHICLE IN REVERSE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN SITTING STILL.
PAINT IS PEELING AROUND THE REAR WINDOW
VALVE COVER GAGE STARTED LEAKING MULTIPLE TIMES EVEN AFTER BEING FIXED. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION SHORTLY AFTER IT WAS PARKED
BACKUP CAMERA DROPPED WORKING.
REAR CAMERA DISPLAY WENT BLACK EXCEPT FOR THE YELLOW LINES. WHEN SHIFTING INTO REVERSE, THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2018 BUT NEVER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW.
WHEEL BEARINGS SQUEEK NOISE IWHEN TURNING FRONT LEFT WHEEL AND SQUEAK NOISE PULLING OFF AND DRIVING EXPERIENCING AND THERE IS A YOUTUBE VIDEO ABOUT THIS MATTER. HONDA DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DIAGNOSE
All wrong lights came on the dash and all components had failed. Took it to the dealership and they weren't able to diagnose, they reset the system and said that if it failed again I would need to purchase a Honda battery as it had recently replaced with another brand. Everything worked for about two weeks until I was on the freeway with the cruise control set at 75 and suddenly the brakes took me down 35. Very frightening experience. Took it in again and they said I needed to replace the camera in the windshield at $1,900.00: my car only had 42,000 miles and 4 years old. Reluctantly, we replaced and paid for the camera and once again the cruise and lane assist failed a week later. My screen also appears to be defective as it goes black and pixilated and the dealership simply resets it and the problem persists. Took it into the dealership for the 4th time and they reset system and once again it worked for about week... again the forward collision warning slammed on the brakes on the freeway. I do not feel safe driving the car with all the failures happening so abruptly. Honda is not being helpful with this problem and the severity of the problem doesn't seem to be a priority.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HER MOTHER WAS DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF ANY WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO EL PASO HONDA LOCATED AT 1490 LEE TREVINO DR, EL PASO, TX 79936 (915) 591-6100 WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED, JUMPED THE CURB AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WAS NO REPORTED FIRE. THE POLICE REPORT HAD NOT BEEN FINALIZED. THE DRIVER WAS PROVIDED MEDICAL ATTENTION HOWEVER SUCCUMBED TO HER INJURIES. A WITNESS INFORMED THE POLICE THAT THE DRIVER WAS SPEEDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,517.
REAR BACK-UP CAMERA FAILED ON CAR WITH LESS THAN 28,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED WITH A HIGH REAR, SO UNLESS THE BACK-UP CAMERA IS WORKING, THERE'S BLIND SPOTS WHEN REVERSING THE CAR. FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER RARE DEEP FREEZE/ICE/MOISTURE EVENT IN LATE FEB 2021. WONDERING IF MOISTURE GOT INTO CAMERA SOMEHOW.
MY CAR BATTERY KEEP DYING IF I DONT DRIVE CAR ONLY FOR 2 DAYS
BACK UP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING. IT ONLY DISPLAYS ORANGE LINES. WHEN TRYING TO ADJUST THE IMAGE THE SCREEN DISPLAYS STATIC LIKE LINES AND ALSO THE LIGHTS ON DISPLAY SCREEN GOES DIM. UNABLE TO GET CAMERA TO WORK. OWN CAR ONE YEAR WITH A LITTLE OVER 17,000 MILES AT TIME I PURCHASED. IT ONLY HAS 29,000 MILES ON IT NOW. NOT HAVING BACK UP CAMERA WORKING CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS.
MY CAR WAS PARKED, AND I SWITCHED TO THE R GEAR TO BACK OUT, BUT MY REAR CAMERA WOULD NOT WORK. MY SCREEN WAS ALL BLACK BUT MY YELLOW PARKING GUIDELINES WERE STILL VISIBLE. I TRIED TO CHANGE THE CAMERA VIEW TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP. MY SCREEN SHOWED SOME STATIC. I SWITCHED BACK TO MY ORIGINAL CAMERA VIEW AND THE STATIC STOPPED, BUT MY SCREEN IS STILL BLACK ON REAR CAMERA MODE. I'VE BEEN SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS MANY HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE. REAR CAMERAS ON OTHER MODELS OF THE HONDA ACCORD HAVE HAD RECALLS. GIVEN SO MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, IT WOULD ONLY BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE 2017 ACCORD TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS.
REAR BACKUP CAMERA HAS FAILED. THERE IS SIMILAR NHTSA CAMPAIGN 18V629 THAT COVERS 2018 HONDA ACCORD BUT NOT 2017 HONDA ACCORD. THERE ARE SEVERAL USERS REPORTING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE REAR BACKUP CAMERA ON THE HONDA ACCORD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
My 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid was having an issue where several warning lights would light up on the dashboard, so I took it in to Auburn Honda, located at 1801 Grass Valley Hwy, Auburn, CA 95603, to get the car serviced under warranty. They made the necessary repair, which was the replacement of a battery component and I picked up the car on 2/2/21. After about 45 minutes of driving the car with no stops immediately after picking up the car, the warning lights returned and the car suddenly shut off. When I tried to restart the car, smoke billowed from the rear. Shortly thereafter, the entire car was engulfed in flames. This incident occurred more than a year ago and ever since I have been trying to get the proper individual or individuals to accept responsibility for this incredibly dangerous and costly incident, for which we have still received NO compensation. My insurance provider, Atlantic Casualty, and Auburn Honda's insurance provider, Federated Insurance, both sent out fire inspectors of their own accord and they concluded that the battery malfunctioning caused the fire. At this time, the car was at Auburn Honda and the inspection was conducted there. My most recent step and what has led me to file this complaint is that I made a claim months ago with American Honda Motor Corporation on the advice of Auburn Honda to find a resolution to this incident. They have been uncooperative and refuse to accept that the fire was caused by the battery. After the car was moved to a junk yard and almost a year had passed from the date of the incident, they sent out their own fire inspector who concluded that the cause of the fire was not the battery. This is on a car that has already been inspected and changed hands and locations several times at this point. They refuse to accept responsibility despite the fact that two independent fire inspectors already concluded that the cause WAS the battery, which is supplied and approved by American Honda Motor Corporation.
SUDDENLY MY CAR WINDSHIELD START BREAKING AND MOSTLY IT IS FROM 9TH GEN ACCORD TO 10TH GEN ACCORD. IT COSTED ME THOUSAND DOLLAR TO FIX IT AND MY CAR ONLY HAS 52 THOUSAND MILEAGE
2017 HONDA ACCORD SPORT , I GET ENGINE LIGHT THE CAR STARTS ACTING UP , TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC THEY REPLACE PLUGS AND A COIL THEN KEPT ON DOING IT . TOOK IT TO HONDA IN MODESTO . COULDN'T FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON . JUST DROVE IT AND STILL GIVING PROBLEMS
PART NUMBER39530-T2A-A31 REPAIR COST $550 HONDA DESIGNED A DEFICIENT PLASTIC CLIP TO HOLD THE REAR CAMERA IN PLACE ON THE CAR TRUNK. AFTER NORMAL USE OPENING AND CLOSING THE TRUNK THE CLIP BREAKS AND THE ENTIRE UNIT MUST BE REPLACED. AFTER 23,000 DRIVEN MILES (44 MONTHS) THE CLIP BROKE AND I SPENT $550 TO REPAIR IT. A GOOGLE SEARCH MAKES IT CLEAR THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST THE GOVERNMENT REQUIRE HONDA TO RE-ENGINEER THE REAR CAMERA MOUNT AND OFFER A 10 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY.
VEHICLE HAS BEEN DEAD ON 4+ OCCASIONS. STATIONARY, IN GARAGE. VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AS LITTLE AS ONCE PER WEEK AT TIMES BUT THE BATTERY OR ELECTRIC DRAW HAS CAUSED THE CAR TO FAIL IN AS LITTLE AS A COUPLE DAYS OR EVEN TRUNK BEING OPEN FOR 15-20MIN. I'VE HAD TO TOW THIS VEHICLE 3TIMES FOR SERVICE. DEALER IS BRUSHING THIS OFF WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY. SAYING THE CAR HAS TO BE DRIVEN FOR MORE THAN 20MINUTES TO RECEIVE FULL CHARGE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HAS A NUMBER OF ELECTRONICS THAT REQUIRE THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN MORE. THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY UNLESS IT CHECKS BAD. THE ISSUE IS AN ELECTRICAL DRAW. MOST LIKELY SEEMS RELATED TO THE REAR HATCH. BATTERY SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A LARGER CAPACITY AND THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND DIAGNOSED FOR ELECTRICAL DRAW FAILURES.
WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN VEHICLE_ 2017 ACCORD HYBRID_ ITS SPEED WAS ABOUT INCREASING TO AROUND 55MPH FROM ABOUT 40MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. THE OIL AND BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON RED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND IT STALLED_ PRESSING THE ACCELERATION PADDLE COULDN'T MAKE THE VEHICLE MOVE ANY FASTER. PUT HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE ERROR CODE 'HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY CHARGE TOO LOW; VEHICLE CANNOT START' APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. WHEN YOU PUSH THE START BUTTON TO START THE VEHICLE, SAME ERROR CODES APPEAR (HVBC HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY CHARGE TOO LOW, VEHICLE CANNOT START WITH THE OIL AND BATTERY INDICATORS ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIT ON RED). WHEN YOU PUT THE GEAR IN DRIVE IT WOULDN'T MOVE, NOR WHEN YOU PUT IT IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T BACK UP. YOU COULD HEAR A LOUD REVVING NOISE WHEN YOU PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL. GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. NOTICED 2014-15 ACCORD HYBRID WAS RECALLED FOR 'HYBRID SYSTEM MAY GO INTO FAIL-SAFE MODE'. PRODUCTION WAS STOPPED IN 2016. BUT THIS IS A 2017 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID WITH SAME ISSUE FROM PREVIOUS GENERATION.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was an extremely loud, piercing distortion sound coming from the speakers. The contact stated that during the failure, the driver was unable to hear oncoming emergency vehicles or horns from other motorists. The contact stated that the loud noise was present while the radio was turned on and, while the radio was turned off. The radio was unplugged to eliminate the loud noise, causing the back-over prevention camera to become inoperable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 108,000.
Rear safety camera defect. Screen is black with no cause. Passenger side camera still works fine indicating it is not a fuse or wire issue.
My rear view camera has been broken for about 2 years, it just completely stopped working. I took my car to the dealership and they confirmed my camera was defective and said that my extended warranty would cover it, I still haven’t taken it in to be fixed yet but I just wanted to report this issue.
My car hesitates when I accelerate I understand there’s a recall for the V6 engine issues with the fuel pump my car is in that category why is there no recall for it. It is doing just what the other cars did that got the recall.
ENGINE FAILED AND HEAD GASKET BLEW AT 45K MILES, A WEEK AFTER PURCHASED CERTIFIED.
REAR CAMERA DISPLAY WENT BLACK EXCEPT THE GUIDANCE LINES ARE DISPLAYED WHEN SHIFTING INTO REVERSE. DEALERSHIP INDICATES A NEW DISPLAY AND CAMERA ARE NEEDED. DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY ISSUE HERE. OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY NOW. THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2018 HONDA ACCORD REAR CAMERA.
THE BACKUP CAMERA IS FLASHING AND BLACK SO I CANNOT SEE THE VIEW WHILE IN REVERSE. THE GUIDELINES STILL APPEAR AND THE SCREEN WORKS FOR ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND SLID OFF THE ROAD, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND A CODE FOR THE SEATBELT WAS DETECTED.
SINCE I PURCHASED THE 2017 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID TOURING VEHICLE IN OCT 2016 I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE STEREO SYSTEM MAINTAINING A CARPLAY CONNECTION FROM MY IPHONE X TO THE CAR STEREO VIA THE CABLE CONNECTION. IT STARTED OUT AS OCCASIONAL DISCONNECTIONS AND PERIODIC LOSSES OF MUSIC OR SOUND FROM MY IPHONE TO COMPLETE RANDOM REBOOTS OF STEREO AND ABOVE STEREO DISPLAY. IN THE LAST YEAR I CAN NO LONGER USE CARPLAY AT ALL WITHOUT MY PHONE LOSING CONNECTION WHEN USING GOOGLE MAPS, APPLE MAPS, PANDORA, PHONE CALLS OR ANY CARPLAY APPS. MY STEREO NOW CONSTANTLY REBOOTS ITSELF, STOPS SOUNDS FROM BEING EMITTED FROM PHONE, RANDOMLY DISCONNECTS MY VOICE DURING PHONE CALLS BUT SHOWS CONNECTED STILL, STEREO FREEZES AND SO DOES THE SCREEN ABOVE THE STEREO, RANDOMLY SHOWS ANDROID (STEREO SYSTEM DESIGNED ON ANDROID SOFTWARE) ERRORS. SOMETIME I CAN DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT THE CABLE AND THAT SOLVES IT WHILE OTHER TIMES THE ONLY FIX IS FOR ME TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF MY CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON. I HAVE REPLACED THE CABLE MULTIPLE TIMES WITH DIRECT FROM APPLE CABLES AND MOST RECENTLY GOT THE NEW IPHONE 12 PRO AND IT ALL STILL HAPPENS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE STEREO A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WHEN I DROPPED MY CAR OFF I HAD THE IPHONE X AND WHEN I PICKED IT UP I HAD THE NEW IPHONE 12 PRO WITH NEW CABLE AND ON MY WAY HOME I USED GOOGLE MAPS AND MADE A CALL AND WITH THE NEW STEREO INSTALLED THE HONDA STEREO COMPLETELY REBOOTED ITSELF AS IT HAD PREVIOUSLY WITH IPHONE X AND REPLACED CABLES. THIS IS NOT A ONE OFF AS LITTLE GOOGLE RESEARCH SHOWS OTHERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING AND HONDA HAS OTHER VEHICLES WITH A MYRIAD OF CARPLAY AND STEREO PROBLEMS. I SPENT ALMOST $3K MORE FOR THIS CAR OVER THE TOYOTA COMPARABLE AT THE TIME SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I TRAVEL AND WANTED CARPLAY TO USE APPLE MAPS OR GOOGLE MAPS AND NOW I CAN'T USE CARPLAY AT ALL.
