1. The Collision Mitigation Breaking System is braking for no reason, at random times while driving 2. My safety and the safety of others is put at risk because when driving on an open road, cars behind me may not have time to break and this could result in an accident. Not to mention, there's nothing in front of my vehicle, so normal things on the road don't cause drivers to assume a car with suddenly brake 3. Yes, the issues been confirmed but I'm expected to pay for it when this has been recalled on several other models 4. This has been happening for the last several months. I put a note in my car to turn off the sensor but as of today, my vehicle will not let me turn off the sensor anymore
I was driving on a road with no other cars around at about 40 miles an hour and the collision mitigation system flashed the brake signal a few times and tried to stop very suddenly. I pushed on the gas to fight it and it released the brake.
My car 40,000 miles and all waring lights are coming on the dash such check engine, lane acc, steering, brake ,parking , took to Honda dealer they say nothing was wrong now there saying it the fuel inject and it will be 1,250 to fix i been look it up and see there's a lot of other ppl with the same problem but no recall for the 2018 Honda Accord sport
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle independently made a sudden stop. The brake warning light illuminated along with other unknown warning lights. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road safely and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was contacted and stated that the Manufacturer was aware of the failure, but that there was no recall for the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Check engine and 11 other warning lights appear. Dealership reports it as faulty fuel injectors and driving should be avoided or limited. The repair is covered under an extended warranty as there is apparently a known issue with design of the parts used in manufacturing. The issue is no parts are available to repair it under warranty however dealership claims they can fix it for cost of about $1500 using “other fuel injectors.”
SRS light went on while driving
Car randomly brakes while driving
The lights on this car pops up weekly sometimes when im driving pass 40 mph my car will just shut off. My brake hold button works on in off since ive gotten it i constantly get warnings like brake system problem, tire pressure monitor system problem, electrical prower steer Problem, acc problem, emissions problems all at once i have taking it to the dealer plenty of times but the problem never gets resolved i have been in almost 5 accidents due to my car just losing power
Backup camera not working. Get black screen with only the yellow lines to denote distance but no camera picture.
About two months ago when I was driving home from work, my car slowing down suddenly and it would not accelerate, so I pulled over to the side and cut it off the engine for 2 minutes then I started the engine back and it seems like nothing happened, I drove my car like normal everyday. Then one month later all the warning light came up so I called the honda service and I have to leave my car over there, then they called me, it has a problem with Fuel injector and it will cost about $1400 to replace the part and I said go head and fix it. They called me back that they could not get the part due to the back ordered and they do not know when they gonna get the part. They said it could be 7 days to 12 months to get that part. I am pretty upset about this matter. How can Honda do not have that part?? Anyway my car only has 32,000 mile and I always take car my car and it had problem already. I had Honda accord 2014 before and had no problem at all, that is why I bought another Honda Accord. It is such a disappointment and I can not believe that they don’t have the part to fix the problem. I always like Honda for my car but I think I will not gonna buy Honda for my next car if they can not fix this problem.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle either hesitated or stalled with the "Emissions System Fault", "Engine Power Reduced", "See your Dealer" messages displayed. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under the recall. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer approximately six times after the recall repair. The spark plugs, ignition coils, and turbo charger were replaced after several visits; however, failure persisted. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic, and the battery was replaced but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the wiring harness and head gasket needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number, but offered no additional assistance. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Vehicle suddenly shut down in traffic second time in a row within 4 days after it was supposedly repair by Honda dealer the first time. It was again my luck that the car engine shut down, suddenly stopped on a road, not on a highway which could result in serious injury to death as sudden stop would cause newsworthy bad crash to my vehicle from oncoming high speed traffic that follows my vehicle. Problem was traced to the latent defective wire harness bundle that runs from the front to the rear of the vehicle throughout the floor board. I believe normal vehicle road vibration during my four years of driving in the high traffic Los Angeles region (a measly 27,700 miles) introduced flexing to the wire harness at certain portion of the latent defective wire harness bundle. The latent defect in the wire harness bundle surfaced its ugly head finally since I own the car new in March, 2019. A segment of the spider wire harness bundle that has the latent intermittent defect disconnected internally to cause the control signal to the fuel pump assembly to stop fuel pump to the engine. Consequently, the vehicle engine shut down, stopped suddenly in traffic again the second time due to lack of fuel. The large spider wire harness bundle was replaced on May 9, 2023. The vehicle is operating properly so far. Clearly this is not a wear and tear issue. It is a latent defective wire harness bundle supplied to Honda by the Honda subcontractors who fabricated the wire harness bundle for the factory build for this 2018 Honda Accord model lot. I like to strongly urge NHTSA to engage Honda to make plans to investigate this lot of wire harness supplied to it now that my vehicle defective wire harness bundle is sent back to the Honda warranty department.
Also the side of the center console. I have leather seats and all my years of owning cars with leather my head rest or center console has ever looked like this.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the failure occurred. The contact stated that there was a delay while attempting to start the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond, shuddered, and decelerated independently. Additionally, the vehicle intermittently lunged forward while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light, Forward Collision Avoidance, braking system, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under an unknown extended warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked, vibrated and lost motive power and failed to exceed 30 MPH while accelerating. During the failure, the check engine and transmission warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic who determined that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.
Honda technician discovered connector to the fuel pump assembly was disconnected. His statement is: Technician found a softset connection on the fuel pump assembly. The vehicle computer did not produce vehicle malfunction message. It was confused with no input from the fuel pump assembly. The vehicle computer displayed many erroneous messages on the dashboard. It shut down the engine suddenly in traffic. If the vehicle was driven on the highway, a very serious accident perhaps resulting in death can occur when vehicle suddenly stops in high speed traffic. I believe this is manufacturing error with poor quality control. Honda needs to beef up the quality control, furthermore redesign the vehicle computer to send error messages to the driver, do a soft coast of the vehicle when connection to the fuel pump assembly is not engaged.
The vehicle had a very violent shift (perhaps it was turbo lag related?) at low speed (under 20 miles per hour - typically, this happens in a parking lot or the like as you slowly drive away). In the past, this had been mentioned to the dealer, numerous times, who claimed that the issue is not reproducible. However, during the visit on 12/06/2022, dealer mechanic(s) claimed that they did witness the issue and the fix the performed the following (per dealer's notes): "reset TCM and Batter cable reset." after which (the dealer notes state): "Let the customer know that the trans will adapt to driving habits within 200 miles. If the customer drives hard, the transmission will learn hard to shift hard etc..." The second statement is nonsensical, since, most of the time the transmission shifts relatively fine, regardless of the driving pattern (i.e. hard, mellow, etc.) and the issue happens intermittently (every so many hundreds miles driven), at very low speeds with very little accelerator input, which indicates more of a software issue (and, possibly a mechanical design defect, coupled with the SW issue). Again, Honda has refused to properly troubleshoot and address the issue. There are now other customers with, what sound like, a very similar problem: [XXX] And, just as with my vehicle, other dealers are claiming "there is no issue" and Honda has ignored the issues. Honda has a history of transmission problems from the 2000s and it's really worrying that they might be repeating that pattern with 2018-on models: [XXX] While I am noting the issue at this mileage, there are numerous other instances of where the same problem occurred. The violent manner in which these shifts happen, makes one wonder how much mechanical damage is being done to the transmission and if a recall should be issued. I was driving along the highway and my sunroof exploded. I immediately pulled over and saw that the sunroof had blown up from the inside as the glass edges were facing up.
In April 2023, our car's dashboard lit-up and we took the car to the Honda dealership. The service center diagnosed a misfiring cylinder caused by a fuel injection system problem, and we were advised that all fuel injectors need replaced. Symptoms of the fuel injector issue would be less vehicle power and the potential to stall completely, and the service center informed us to avoid driving long distances but that the fuel injectors were on national backorder. Honda has not provided any timeline or updates, or a loaner vehicle in the interim, even though it has been nearly 2 months. There were no warnings beforehand, and driving without replacing the fuel injectors is dangerous due to the risk of stalling. It has been stated this is not a unique issue, and the service center has multiple people waiting on these parts and fixes.

This is a complaint for a unique occurrence of this problem on this date. In some instances, it seems that the ventilation system is potentially pulling noxious fumes in from the engine bay and in others, there seems to be an issue with moisture retention when AC is run. The vehicle forces foul smelling air in to the cab. Honda has failed to properly troubleshoot the issue (i.e. retain the vehicle for more than a few hours and try to understand if there is an issue with the ventilation system or something else).
I Lost all system brake system tpms vehicle stability electric power steering hill start adaptive cruise control collision mitigation road departure Emission system problem. Check engine code that keeps popping out is P0301 have changed injectors and coil packs and have done further research on vehicle there are a lot of people stating they are a bad batch of injector and I have looked up to buy the injector and are unavailable. I believe the injector are bad and causing multiple check engine to pop up and further increasing the possibility of a crash or accident.
The 2018 Accords have a system called "Brake Hold" which is intended to engage the braking system while a vehicle is stopped at, say, a stop-light. The intent seems to be to allow the driver to have their foot on the gas, instead of the brake pedal. The Brake Hold system frequently has an issue where it allows the vehicle to creep. This, generally, seems to happen in colder temperatures. Another, pattern of behavior is when the vehicle has been brought to a slow roll, then stopped (using the brake pedal) and as soon as the brake pedal is release, the Brake Hold system fails to hold the vehicle in the stopped position. After a significant delay, the Brake System is engaged, but the vehicles had, at that point, lurched forward several inches, if not over a foot. This indicates (just as with the Collision Mitigation System delays, discussed in other complaints) that there is a significant issue with the timing of the control system utilized in the Brake Hold, the sensor(s) or both, where the system fails to detect the conditions in real time and reacts in a delayed manner. Again, as with other issues on the later Honda models, Honda has failed to perform comprehensive troubleshooting of the issue (even after me taking the vehicle to the dealer as indicated by Honda. This is a complaint for a separately occurring instance.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V158000 (SEAT BELTS); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. Parts distribution disconnect.
To whom it might concern, I have a Honda accord 2018 sport trim. The AC stopped working. This is part of the engine and should be a recall since it’s stopping to work for all Honda accords 2018 and new newer models.

On Easter 2023, my family and I were traveling when the check engine light came on. A warning indicated there may be an emissions problem. I contacted my local dealership the following morning and was told that there was a safety recall on seatbelts ( had no idea) and that I’d have to wait until 5/1 in order to get a loaner. I was advised if I brought the car in sooner, I wouldn’t be allowed to leave in it if needed parts weren’t available. I was told that the car was safe to drive as long as check engine didn’t flash. On 4/26, I was a block away from my home when several warnings began to illuminate all at once- “adaptive cruise control is failing, see dealer”, “ collision mitigation braking system failure, see dealer” among several more warnings. I contacted the dealership again and was told to keep my appointment the following week. I took my car in on 5/1 and was told that I needed to replace fuel injectors at 68k miles! I was quoted $2100 for the repair and parts however the part can’t be located due to being on a critical back order. It seems that staff at Honda have been provided a script to ask consumers to pay for the part in order to be given an eta which is ridiculous. I questioned why the dealership couldn’t order the part and I pay once it arrives to ensure my car received the part. 2 weeks later and still no ETA. Honda should honor their brand and customers and issue a recall as I’ve read this is a frequent problem on the 2018 model Accords.
On April 7 at 1230p I was driving about 45 mph on Lindbergh Blvd in Creve Coeur. As I was moving into a construction area there was a sign to lower speed to 35. I lowered my speed with my brakes and at the same time traveled over a metal plate on the road. After I let up on the brakes there was an immediate very jarring breakage done without my foot on brake as I went over the plating. The abrupt braking was so severe that all of the belongs on both front passenger and back seats all fell to the floor. There is no doubt in my mind that if there was a car behind me they would ran right into me. After going over the plating the braking system was released and my regular driving ability resumed. I would be afraid to try to reproduce this problem. Since owning the car I have had about 5 less severe problems with this automatic braking system on this same road with the system sensing something that was not there (I thought it was a policeman's radar) with a very very short and less severe automatic braking. I did not not notice any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem .
I have taken my Honda because of engine misfiring. They said there is coolant seeping in the pistons and we red a new engine gasket and the cost is $4,000. All the warning lights are turning on and alerting the driver but when I took it in and paid $380 they can’t figure out why these are turning on. The fuel injectors and belt are another item that has been alerted to being an issue. These are problems my 20 year old car has not encountered and this is a 2018. The airbags warning has been an issue at least once every few months.
I down loaded my update through the radio. It said complete. I went into the house and the next morning I started it and a bunch of warning lights were on and have stayed on. I can not use some of the buttons on the drivers door, I can not use my key fob unless it is touching the start stop button, I can not open the trunk, the gas cap will not open, and most of all I have lost some power to the interior fuse box. This car is only 5 years old almost to the date and it has had multiple recalls already. I want the BCM reprogrammed and fixed so all this will go away.
the vehicle has faults on the dashboard, all the warning lights come on and there are functions that do not work when they are on.
Daytime Running Light(DRL) passenger side color yellow burnout. I called Honda dealership they told me it will be out of pocket. My vechile was 63k mileage. One of my friends have the same issue i have.
Blown head gasket diagnosed at 112k ‘miles on 2018 Honda Accord many in doing research general repair on this specific accord 1.5t happens around 100-113k miles when a head gasket should last the life time off a vehicle roughly 200k I have a 1997 accord with 300k and still no head gasket issues I got this Honda due to the fact it should last a while
Door locks malfunctioning intermittently across multiple doors. Locks cannot be toggled by master control or fob. Passenger in seat of defective lock could be trapped in vehicle in emergency if unable to manually toggle door lock. I have fixed one lock only for the issue to present itself on another door lock immediately after repair.
Fuel injectors
Door locks don’t work with fob intermittently. Often times, failure door can only be locked/unlocked manually by toggled physical mechanism, or by use of key, never buttons or fob. Passenger using said door would have difficulty opening door in the event of emergency, or at least delayed in doing so trying to find the toggle. Issue has not be replicated by either dealer or other professional. Issue has been ongoing for 6 months, but recently one of the door has failed completely so I will be going back to dealer tomorrow. There are no warning indicators to suggest a certain issue.
There has been a series of constant issues with this model and each issue has been brought to a certified Honda dealership and was supposedly "fixed" engine code P0300 (random/multiple cylinder misfire),P2651 B rocker arm Actuator system, P0087 Fuel Rail/system pressure, P0304,P0303 cylinder 3 and 4 misfire, engine temperature always above normal. These issues on multiple situations has put my safety and the safety of others at the highest risk. The motor vehicle due to these issues randomly would lose power to the point where stepping on the gas doesn't not accelerate the car, forcing me to stop in the middle of the highway having other vehicles stop suddenly and swerve around me with children in the vehicle. Another occasion going up a hill the car beings to stutter losing power resulting to the car shutting off, forcing me engage These reoccurring issues have also randomly caused the vehicle to not start. Multiple warning signs are lit across the dashboard. These occurrence are random with no warning sign The vehicle has been brought to the same dealership numerous times claiming each issue was fixed but within a few weeks more issues came. The last visit i was told as a "solution" i need to buy a new engine out of pocket, unacceptable for a Honda engine with 64000 miles on it. This oil dilution issue need a proper answer before someone is serious injured.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle started driving abnormally. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the head gasket and the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
3 Incidents of auto braking without a car being in front of me. My vehicle abruptly applied the brakes from underneath my foot so hard, that myself and passengers jerked forward. This almost caused the vehicle behind me to run into me. I now drive with extreme caution wondering when will it happen again. It's not safe for anyone to be in my vehicle especially young children in car seats such as my nephew and granddaughter.
Fuel injectors went out not even a year of having my vehicle… and it cause electrical problems in the car where you can’t use and car features…. There is so many reports there needs to be a recall review
I have had a few instances where I was driving and the brake warning light started flashing and the car broke. This latest incident was today and it was extremely dangerous and scary. I was driving and no one was driving in front of me the car warning brake light flashed and the car came to a complete stop, the car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me from behind and I wasn’t even able to press on the gas to move until after a few seconds!!
Vehículo se apagó en vía de rodaje, prendiendo todas las alertas de seguridad del tablero. Se envió a taller con diagnóstico P0087. Google Translate; Vehicle shut down on taxiway, turning on all security alerts on the dashboard. It was sent to the workshop with diagnosis P0087. LK*
All dashboards lights is lid and comes off and on and intermittently electric issues... also horrible horrible all or most person who owns car complaints of underboost turbo charger and had to replace the turbo charger including myself and blown gasket.... causing a major sever safety issue especially driving....
UNKNOWN. My 2018 Honda has all the lights on in the dashboard and I’m getting a lot of warnings as well. I took it to numerous mechanics and they all say nothing is wrong with the vehicle. The lights turn on and stay on for multiple weeks then they turn off but then they turn on again. When the lights turn on I notice I cannot accelerate as fast and also all the safety features do not work. This issue started happening around mid 2023.
Noise coming from the back and the passenger door. The noise comes and go, but it's mostly there when driving under 40mph
In the 2018 Honda Accord the "Brake Hold" system will, at times, allow the vehicle to keep creeping forward after the vehicle is brought to a full stop with the Brake Hold system engaged. This is one of the issue which Honda has failed to properly troubleshoot to this day.
Road departure mitigation cruise control collision mitigation emission systems not working when I drive my car it stalled
Out of the blue car was having a glitch on the screen when turning on the vechical. The battery died and was replaced. Once battery was replaced engine light and brake like will turn on and off. After battery was replaced the engine light turned on and started to read that ignition and sparks plugs are bad. I have spoke to about 50 people with the same car and they are having the same issues and the mechanics do not know what is wrong
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at approximately 70 MPH, the steering wheel was constantly sticking. The failure caused the steering to become difficult to turn. There were warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was informed of the failure and confirmed that there were no recalls on the VIN related to steering. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
I was using the cruise control feature while driving and it gave multiple errors. It happens each time I use the cruise control feature and assisted driving feature. The errors it gives are: 1. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. See Your Dealer. 2.Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem. See Your Dealer. 3. Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem. See Your Dealer. I have also been driving and it breaks by itself and there is nothing in from of the vehicle. It was an orange flat plate on the road for construction. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer but they say it’s all normal.
