I BEGAN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE CAR REPAIRED ON AUGUST 14, 2000. BY TODAY, AUGUST 18TH, THE HONDA DEALER HAD MENTIONED TO THE REPAIR SHOP THAT IAM HAVING THE WORK DONE AT THAT THEY HAD ORDERED 6 OF THESE MANIFOLDS. ON MONDAY WHEN I HAD CALLED THE DEALER FOR PARTS, THEY DID NOT HAVE THE MANIFOLD IN STOCK. I BELIVE THAT THIS COULD BE A SIGN OF A MAJOR DEFECT. ALTHOUGH IT DOES NOT DIRECTLY POSE A THREAT TO ME PHYSICALLY, IT COULD ALLOW EXHUAUST FUMES INTO THE VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE TO PRESUE THE MANUFACTURE AND ATTEMPT TO HAVE THEM REPLACE THE PART.
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 30MPH & ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HIT HEAD-ON. AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. MANUFACTURER SAID THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAPPENED. ALSO, MANUFACTURER DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ASSISTING WITH THE PROBLEM. *AK
BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACE CONSUMER SHIFTED GEAR INTO REVERSE AND VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BACKWARDS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WITH FOOT STILL ON BRAKES, CAUSING VEHICLE TO RUN INTO A BAKERY STORE. *AK
THE TIRE BLEW OUT AND SPLITED THE FRONT FENDER OFF THE CAR WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED ON MY LOT( DOT NUMBER: VN7JMNH357 TIRE SIZE: P185/65R14 )
SUN ROOF BLEW UP (SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED) WITHOUT ANYTHING HITTING IT. THE DEALER WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEFECT. *AK
DURING 2000 (EST) I BROUGHT MY CAR TO HONDA DEALER TO REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH.AND GET A NEW SET OF KEYS I THINK I PAID ABOUT $800 I NEVER RECEIVE ANY RECALL NOTICE UNTIL THIS YEAR MY MECHANIC CHECK AND HE SAID MY CAR HAD RECALL. .I FURTHER REFER TO INTERNET THAT SOME CAR WERE REPAIRED FREE IN CHANGING IGNITION SWITCH. IN THIS REGARD I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MY CAR IS A RECALL IN SPITE OF SAME PROBLEM.WITH OTHER CARS THANK YOU, JAIME
DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS STAYING ON WHEN CAR WAS IN AND OUT OF WARRANTY. WHILE CAR WAS IN WARRANTY THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS RESET. I COUPLE MONTHS LATER WHEN THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, RESULTING IN REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE AIR BAG UNIT, AT MY EXPENSE. *LA
DUE TO A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM, VEHICLE SLIPS WHILE DRIVING WHICH CAUSES RPMS TO GO UP. THIS MAY CAUSE A CRASH. DEALER SAID THEY NEED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE ROLLING BACK ON INCLINES. NOW MY TRANSMISSION MUST BE REPLACED.
STOPPED AT RED LIGHT AND WAS REARENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. PUSHED INTO PICKUP IN FRONT, AND NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE IMPACT WAS SO SEVERE THAT IT LEFT AN IMPRINT OF THE LICENSE PLATE FROM THE ANOTHER VEHICLE. DIDN'T CONTACT DEALER.*AK
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT A 40MPH CRASH. COULD NOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ON A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 45MPH IGNITOR FAILED, AND THE ENGINE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF. ALSO, POWER STEERING FAILED. *AK
TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKING AND BRAKES NOT WORKING. ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK WHEN PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT. I WAS PUSHING ON BRAKES WITH NO RESPONSE. HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE, AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO "REV" TRYING TO ACCELERATE. TURNED CAR OFF. RESTARTED CAR, AND AGAIN THE CAR ENGINE WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH BRAKES WERE PUSHED. WAS NOT USING FLOORMAT. DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE. IN OCTOBER 99, TURNED INTO PARKING LOT AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK AND CAR INCREASED SPEED. AGAIN BRAKES DID NOT WORK. HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO GET CAR TO STOP. *AK

A NOISE COME FROM THE BRAKES WHEN CONSUMER WAS NOT BRAKING OR ACCELERATING. COULD HEAR NOISE AT ANY SPEED. *AK
CONSUMER'S DAUGTHER WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO AVOID A PEDESTRIAN, REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK *ML
THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE ITEM TO FIX AND DISPITE THE PURCHASE OF AN EXTENDED WARRENTY IT'S NOT COVERED. SHOULDN'T THIS BE A SAFETY CONCERN AND COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER? NO SAFETY DEFEC TLISTED WITHIN SUMMARY. *AK
REAR SEAT BELT DOES NOT TIGHTEN UP WHEN THE BELT IS ACTIVATED. ALSO, BOLT THAT HOLDS THE SEAT IN PLACE FAILED WHEN CHILD SAFETY SEAT WAS PLACED IN THE REAR SEAT. SEAT BELT HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE, AND HAS FAILED AGAIN. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED 6 TIMES. *AK *JB
NEW TIRE BLEW UP AT 70 MPH ON I-80. GOOD WEATHER. LOST CONTROL. *AK (DOT NUMBER: W27J TIRESIZE: P185/65R14)
WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40-45MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CUT QUICKLY OUT OF LANE TO RIGHT. LEFT LITTLE SPACE BETWEEN OTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS REARENDED. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. *AK
MY WIFE REGINA WAS DRIVING THE CAR SHE HIT A CAR BROADSIDE THAT HAD RUN A RED LIGHT. SHE WAS GOING ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR, AND THE OTHER CAR WAS GOING ABOUT 25 MILES PER HOUR. THE FAILURE WAS THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. OFFICER PETERSON FROM THE MEADVILLE CITY POLICE FILED THE ACCIDENT REPORT. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AT THE INTERSECTION OF PARK AVENUE AND NORTH STREET IN THE CITY OF MEADVILLE, PA 16335. *AK
THE SUPPORT ROD FOR THE HOOD IS APPROXIMATELY 1 FT. IN LENGTH, AND IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY ONE FOOT FROM THE HOOD HINGE. THE SUPPORT ROD ALSO CONTAINS A MANUFACTURED BEND IN THE CENTER THAT IS MEANT TO FOLD UNDER PRESSURE. IT FAILED. SLIGHT PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE HOOD WHILE IN THE RAISED POSITION BETWEEN 1.5 AND 3.5 INCHES . THE HOOD BENT ON THE ROD. THERE WAS NO EXTRA REINFORCEMENT IN THE MANUFACTURED PLACEMENT AREA PROVIDED FOR THE ROD. THE DAMAGE IS MINIMAL.....ONLY A 1/4 INCH DIMPLE IN THE HOOD, BUT THE HOOD IS SO THIN THAT THE ONLY MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED REPAIR IS COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE HOOD. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A DEFINITE DESIGN FLAW; THE ENTIRE WEIGHT OF THE HOOD PIVOTS ON THE ROD AT ONLY ONE FOOT IN DISTANCE FROM THE FULCRUM(HINGE). PHYSICALLY IT IS A CERTAINTY THAT DAMAGE IS INEVITABLE.
TRANSMISSION CONTINUALLY EXPERIENCES SLIPPAGE WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, UNABLE TO BE FIXED BY DEALERSHIP AT THIS TIME UNTIL HONDA CAN FIND RESOLUTION. MJS
MY CAR IS TOTALED BY ANOTHER DRIVERS NEGLIGENCE; I WAS TOLD BY A LAWYER THAT BECAUSE MY SON AND I WERE NOT KILLED IN THE ACCIDENT WE COULD NOT FILE A CLAIM AGAINST THE MANUFACTOR FOR THE AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A HEAD ON COLLLISON. I CALLED THE MANUFACTOR AND ALL THE LADY TOLD ME WAS THAT SHE WOULD SEND ME A "BROCHURE" ON HOW THE AIRBAGS WORKED. I KNOW MY SON AND I WERE EXTREMELY LUCKY IN THIS ACCIDENT, HOWEVER I STILL THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE ATTITUDE I HAVE RECEIVED. I STILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE PAIN OF HEARING MY SONS VOICE SCREAM IN TERROR OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN MY HEAD AND I THINK ITS ONE OF THE WORST THINGS A MOTHER HAS TO GO THROUGH WITH HER CHILD.
WHILE IN DRIVE ON A SLIGHT INCLINE CAR WILL ROLL BACKWARDS. SAME WITH REVERSE. DEALER SAYS THAT THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *AK
1) SRS LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE PURCHASING VEHICLE IN 1998. 2) VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN NO ACCIDENTS,NO WAY TO TELL IF AIR BAGS WILL DEPLOY. 3) DEALER WAS UNABLE TO CHECK EQUIPMENT ON SATURDAYS,UNTIL RECENTLY,WHICH MEANS EQUIPMENT IS OUT OF WARRANTY.*AK
DRIVE AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED.
WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. OCCUPANT APPLIED THE BRAKES WHICH WERE INOPERATIVE. IT RESULTED IN A CRASH. *AK
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT IS ON AND WON'T GO OFF, AND THE DEALER CAN'T DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *AK
HAVE HAD THREE TIRES GO FLAT WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. ACCIDENT WAS HEAD ON INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE WHO PULLED OUT DAMAGING ENTIRE FRONT OF CAR, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. FLOORBOARD LEAK WAS REPAIRED AND SEALED WITHIN 1 WEEK OF OWNERSHIP.( DOT NUMBER: DB7J C11 TIRE SIZE: P185/65R14 )
WHILE DRIVING, CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO DISENGAGE. *AK CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES, CONSUMER FINALLY CAME TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD, DEALER STATES THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. *SLC
WHILE PARKING, CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED UP OVER TWO CURBS AND A GRASS HILL (ONE CURB ON EACH SIDE OF THE HILL), SIDESWIPING ANOTHER CAR UNTIL THE ENGINE FINALLY CUT OFF. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM AND DENIES THAT THE CAR COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS ACCELERATION. *AK
IN THE FIRST INCIDENT THE STEERING HOSE AND RACK WERE LEAKING (AT 10,000 MILES). I WAS TOLD AT MY APPT. FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND STEERING INSPECTION THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO DO BOTH, SO THEY WANTED TO CHANGE THE OIL AND LOOK AT THE STEERING LATER. I INSISTED THEY DO THE OPPOSITE AND HALF AN HOUR LATER I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT SAFELY DRIVE MY CAR HOME. CURRENTLY, MY TRANSMISSION COMPUTER WAS FOUND TO BE FAULTY AFTER I REPORTED A SEVERE VIBRATION ACCOMPANIED BY A CONSTANT SOUND. THIS TOO WAS SHRUGGED OFF OVER THE PHONE AS BEING TYPICAL OF THE CVT AUTOMOBILES. TWENTY MINUTES AFTER I HAD PICKED THE CAR UP AFTER IT WAS "REPAIRED" I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER AS IT WAS SHUDDERING AND IDLING DOWN TO 0 RPM'S, ALMOST DYING AT STOPLIGHTS. THIS HAS YET TO BE RESOLVED AS THEY DON'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT TO DO IN REGARD TO THESE TRANSMISSIONS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH VEHICLE CHANGED LANE, AND FOR SOME REASON IT WENT OUT OF CONTROL AND SPINNED AROUND, HITTING A TREE AT A FRONTAL IMPACT. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, WHICH DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANTS IN THE CRASH. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION AND VIN#. *AK
INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS, WITH CENTERAL COMPUTER CONTORL, BATTERY SOMETIMES COMPLETELY DRAINS, SOMETIMES DOES NOT, TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE SOMETIMES , DEALER UNCOOPERATIVE. *AK
RIGHT FRONT FENDER EDGE NEXT TO FRONT EDGE OF THE DOOR PUSHES IN DURING NORMAL USE, THIS HAS BENT THE FENDER AND INTERFACING FROM NORMAL OPENING OF THE DOOR. YH
ON-GOING / INTERMITTENT PROBLEM OF ELECTRICAL SHORTS / STATISTIC ELECTRICITY RECEIVED FROM EITHER SIDE OF THE DOORS; DEALER NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. UNLESS CONSUMER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTIC OR REWIRING. *AK
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE APRIL AND WON'T GO OFF. DEALER CAN'T DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 60MPH IN MARCH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DECELERATE AFTER BRAKES WERE APPLIED. CHECKED CRUISE CONTROL WHICH WAS NOT ON. CHECKED GAS PEDAL TO SEE IF STUCK. HAD GUIDED VEHICLE TO OFF RAMP & MANGED TO TURN IT OFF. SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL & NOTHING WORKED. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER & MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. VEHICLE IS NOW JERKING ALSO, 6 MONTHS LATER. *AK
AFTER LETTING SOMEONE IN REAR SEAT. THE FRONT GOES TO RECLINING POSTION, NOT THE UPRIGHT, DRIVING POSITION. *AK
WHILE ACCELERATING ON TO A HIGHWAY, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS PULLED TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR BEGAN ACCELERATING OUT OF CONTROL. I WAS IN 5TH GEAR AND PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL, BUT IT KEPT ACCELERATING. I FINALLY TURNED THE IGNITION OFF [KEY] AND COASTED TO THE SHOULDER. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD NO PROBLEM, THAT THEY WERE 99% SURE THE CAR MAT MUST HAVE GOTTEN STUCK UNDER THE PEDAL. I DON'T THINK SO.
THE FUEL LINE UNDER REAR SEAT LEAKED. YH
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK, AND THE CONSUMER HAD TO PULL THE ACCELERATOR UP BY HAND. *AK
OWNERS INSPECTION OF DISASSEMBLED TRANSMISSIN REVEALS THAT REVERSE SHIFT FORK HAD BEEN RIDING ON REVERSE GEAR, APPARENTLY CAUSING PARTIAL ENGAGEMENT DURING VEHICLE OPERATION IN ANY MODE. METALLIC PARTICLES FROM DISINTEGRATING GEAR DAMAGED STUB AXLE AT OUTER BEARING AREA. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER'S REPRESENTATIVES DISPUTE THIS. *AK
VEHICLE STRUCK REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, BRAKES WERE LOCKED AT 40 MPH, SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK,ALLOWING DRIVERS FACE TO HIT STEERING WHEEL, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, HONDA CONTACTED, AND HAS SHOWN NO INTEREST IN INVESTIGATING OR CHECKING THE CAR. STATED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AFTER IT WAS REPAIRED, AND IF ANYTHING WAS WRONG, THEY WOULD REPLACE PARTS.
DAUGHTER INVOLVED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION. ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT, HIT BY ONCOMING CAR GOING APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH. WEARING SEATBELT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, BUT SEAT BELT FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY, WAS FLUNG INTO PASSENGER'S SIDE OF CAR. BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, NEITHER STRIKING HER. WAS FLUNG BACK TO DRIVERS SIDE OF CAR. AMBULANCED TO HOSPITAL WITH A FRACTURED LEFT RADIUS, SEVERELY DISPLACED FRACTURE OF LEFT CLAVICLE AND SCRAPES AND CONTUSIONS TO LEFT KNEE. 3/25/99 WRIST FRACTURE HAS HEALED, CLAVICLE STILL NOT HEALED AND NEITHER IS KNEE. CAR TOTALLED. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY SEATBELT DID NOT WORK. I AM HOWEVER VERY GRATEFUL THAT MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT MORE SERIOUSLY INJURED. I WOULD GRATEFULLY APPRECIATE SOME KIND OF RESPONSE FROM MY COMPLAINT. HOW CAN I GET A RESPONSE FROM HONDA?
SINCE THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT, THE TRANSMISSION INTERMITTENTLY JERKED (SOMETIMES VIOLENTLY) WHEN DOWNSHIFTING, ESPECIALLY AROUND 40 MPH. IT ALSO DOWNSHIFTED AT ODD TIMES, LIKE GOING DOWN HILLS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ON 12/12 & THEY REPORTED "NO PROBLEM FOUND." ON DEC 27 THE ENGINE MADE LOTS OF NOISE BUT HAD LITTLE SPEED & MY FAMILY HAD TO DRIVE THE HANDICAPPED CAR THE SHORT DISTANCE HOME. THE DEALER SAID THE COMPUTER REPORTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION RATION WAS WRONG. THEY SAID THE MORE THEY WORKED ON IT, THE WORSE IT BECAME. THEY COULDN'T FIX IT EVEN WITH THE HELP OF HONDA EXPERTS, SO THEY INTENDED TO REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. UNFORTUNATELY, THE DEALER WRECKED THE CAR & THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR A MONTH. WE WANT A NEW CAR BECAUSE WE DON'T TRUST THE RELIABILITY OF THE CAR BUT HONDA & THE DEALER AREN'T COOPERATING. *AK
EXHAUST HEAD PIPE FAILED. YH
VEHICLE WAS IN THE PARKING LOT WHEN CONSUMER WAS BACKING OUT OF A SPACE, SHIFTED GEAR INTO DRIVE AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR , CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AND A LIGHT POLE. REASON UNKNOWN. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
