VEHICLE WON'T BACK-UP WHEN SET IN REVERSE. WHEN TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED AND STARTED THE CAR, IT BACKED UP. ALSO, VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN THEN CAR WOULDN'T MOVE FORWARD EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN DRIVE. *LA THIS OCCURRED TWICE AND A TRUCK COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE AND TOTALED IT. *PH
BRAKING WHILE ON A BUMPY ROAD OCCASIONALLY RESULTS IN A DELAY OF THE BRAKING ACTION. WE THOUGHT THIS WAS PART OF THE ABS SYSTEM, BUT THERE WAS NO ABS "FEEL" IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. WITH THE TOYOTA PROBLEM DESCRIPTION, WE NOW FEEL IT MAY BE A SIMILAR PROBLEM. ONLY OCCURS WHILE BRAKING ON ROUGH PAVEMENT. *TR

CONSUMER STATED UPON ENTERING THE DRIVEWAY OF HER HOME, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND COULD NOT BE STOPPED BY APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE HIT THE REAR WALL OF THE GARAGE CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH THE AUTOMOBILE AND HER HOME.*JB

RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER TRIES TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, THE DOOR JAMS UP AND DOES NOT OPEN. CRITICAL IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY. FIRST NOTICE IN FIRST WEEK OF OCT 2002 WEEK AFTER BUYING THE CAR. SERVICE COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. HAS TO BRING IN AFTER SO MANY OCCURRENCES ON JULY 16, 2003. THEY SAID DOOR LOCK NEEDS ACTUATOR REPLACED.*JB

2003 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID HAS A VIBRATION FROM THE TRANSMISSION. DEALERS SAID THEY DIDN'T FEEL IT, THEN REPLACED TRANS FLUID. NOTHING HELPED . OUT OF WARRANTY AND ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM NOW. IT IS DANGEROUS AT SPEED. HONDA IS COVERING UP A PROBLEM AND THEY ARE AT FAULT BY CORPORATE DECISION TO RISK AMERICAN LIVES. HAVE GONE ROUND AND ROUND WITH HONDA USE AND THEY STILL SAY THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THE HYBRIDS. LIARS. *TR
I WAS STRUCK ON MY FRONT BUMPER BY A DRIVER DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. HE WAS MAKING A 3-POINT TURN AND DIDN'T KNOW THAT I WAS BEHIND HIM. HE ACCELERATED INTO ME AND EVEN THOUGH MY CAR SUSTAINED MINIMAL DAMAGE, MY NECK RECEIVED ALL OF THE CRASH ENERGY. I HAVE HARD-COPY EVIDENCE OF MY NECK FROM MRIS AND CAT SCANS TAKEN 1 YEAR BEFORE THE ACCIDENT; I HAD A HEALTHY NECK. I NOW HAVE 3 DISINTERGRATING DISCS AND CONSTANT PAIN. THE TREATMENTS WILL BE OPEN-ENDED, I AM TOLD. THROUGH MY RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT HONDA CHANGED THEIR HEAD-RESTRAINT DESIGN ON THE CIVIC HYBRID 2003 (MY CAR). BEFORE THAT YEAR, THE REGULAR CIVIC HAD EXCELLENT RATINGS. THIS MODEL HAD A 'MINIMAL PASSING' RATING. I FEEL THAT THE LACK OF NECK SUPPORT WAS THE REASON THAT MY BODY SUSTAINED SUCH INJURIES.*AK
STEREO AUDIO QUALITY INTEGRITY: WHEN VOLUME IS TURNED ON HIGH ON THE FACTORY INSTALLED STEREO, THE SOUND QUALITY DIMINISHES. THE SPEAKERS (SOUND) POP AND CRACK. MY QUESTION IS THIS... WHY WOULDN'T THE FACTORY INSTALLED STEREO SPEAKERS BE DESIGNED TO ACCOMODATE THE HIGH AND LOW FREQUENCIES OF THE FACTORY INSTALLED STEREO? SHOULD IT BE EXPECTED TO?
IF YOU OPEN THE REAR WINDOW(S) AT ANY SPEED ABOVE 40MPH THERE IS A THUMPING SOUND IN THE VEHICLE, MY SISTER COULD NOT TAKE THIS NOISE AT 40MPH AS THE SPEED INCREASES TO 55MPH ( LEGAL CITY HIGHWAY SPEED) THE SOUND INCREASES AND PAIN OCCURS. THE HONDA MECHANIC EXPERIENCED STRONG DISCOMFORT AT THIS SPEED. IF YOU GO TO THE LEGAL RURAL SPEED LIMIT 65 MPH, THE PAIN BECOMES IN MY CASE SEVER . IF SOME OPENS THE REAR WINDOW AT THAT SPEED IN MY CASE IT WILL CAUSE ME MAJOR PROBLEMS. FIRST I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO HEAR AN EMERGENCY VEHICLE TO YIELD. I WOULD BE BUSY TRYING TO COPE WITH THE PAIN AND MAY LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR. PEOPLE HAVING DOGS IN THEIR VEHICLE AND LEAVING THE BACK WINDOW OPEN WILL EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM. I WAS NEVER TOLD OF THE PROBLEM BEFORE BUYING THE VEHICLE AND THIS IS MY FIRST SUV OR ANYTHING LARGER THAN A 2DR COUPE PASSENGER VEHICLE. I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IF I KNEW THIS FIRST. 2003 HONDA CIVIC CONCERNS REGARDING THE CHANGE IN THE CARS PERFORMANCE.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***.*MR EVER SINCE THE ECM UPDATE WAS PERFORMED ON THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE, THE GAS MILEAGE HAS DROPPED TO 41 MPG, THEN TO 38 MPG AD NOW 37 MPG. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE NOW LABORS AND LAGS TERRIBLY. *JB
WHEN COMING TO A SLOW STOP, WITH BRAKE LIGHTLY APPLIED, THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND DISENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STILL MOVING. DUE TO USE OF THE ENGINE AS A GENERATOR TO CHARGE THE PROPULSION BATTERY AT THIS POINT, THE FRICTION IS SUBSTANTIAL AND CONTRIBUTES GREATLY TO BRAKING. WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE SUDDEN DECREASE IN FRICTION WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY STOP SLOWING DOWN UNLESS MORE BRAKE PRESSURE IS IMMEDIATELY APPLIED. THIS CAN CAUSE A LOW-SPEED REAR END CRASH WITH A STOPPED VEHICLE AHEAD. THERE IS NO WARNING THAT I COULD FIND IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL REGARDING THIS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING. THE CONSUMER PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT(FIRESTONE P18570R14). *NLM

A SOUND OF METAL RUBBING TOGETHER EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE BRAKING. THE CAUSE WAS UNKNOWN. PLEASE DESCRIBE FURTHER INFORMATION. *NLM
