2004 HONDA Civic Cracked Block TSB [XXXX] Honda settled in a class-action lawsuit that covers 2008 - 2009 Civic engine block failures with unlimited miles for an extended 10-year warranty period. Covered Civics will receive an engine repair or replacement at no cost. The covered Civic engine castings were built using thinner aluminum and the cracked block will leak coolant causing the engine to overheat. Civics Covered 2006 - 2008 - ALL VINs beginning with 2HG & 1HG 2009 - Check eligibility with VIN Civic VINs beginning with 2HG & 1HG - Check eligibility * Excludes SI and Hybrid. My 2004 Civic has an identical engine crack with a 1HG VIN, and only 130k miles. The location of the crack is identical to the TSB and is not a result of the vehicle's maintenance and driver habits. I have found several cases where Honda Goodwill Assistance covered costs of repairs on vehicles past warranty. The 2004 Honda Civic has been recalled 15 times by the NHTSA with the engine problems severity rating a 10, on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the worst). [XXX] labeled the 2004 Honda Civic with a red Alert Notice of the recalls rendering the appeal of owning a 2004 Civic an unreliable purchase. As well as, 2006 - 2019 Civics due to the TBS extended warranty on known engine issues. [XXX] reviews for a 2004 Honda Civics a 1 out of 5 (1 being the worst). Honda Recall, Q5A, Y58 on 2001 Civic airbags caused death, yet the recall was not announced until 2019. Placing a 10-year extended warranty has proven to not cover all Honda’s and should be reviewed on a case by case basis to catch any cars not covered by warranty. My Civic was agreed to be looked at by Honda, and I'm to send the detailed inspection report for review by the NA Honda Headquarters. Awaiting reply 11/14/2023. I got into an accident today and airbag inflator that was replaced due to a recall never deployed upon impact causing me to slam into my steering wheel with my head. Officer looked in car and realized airbag never deployed. I drove car home. Now waiting for hopefully someone to give me an answer to why my airbag did not deploy?
It takes many attempts to get the drivers side seat belt to latch/click. I am concerned after seeing other recalls that mine maybe in fact affected as well.

It is not safe to drive because of the slippage is really hard and it still kicks when braking and can cause the car to keep driving while harshly pressing the brake to stop.
The air bag failed to deploy during the vehicular collision on Jan.27, 2022 at the intersection in a city in Virginia. The HONDA Civic LX 2004 was hit by another vehicle on the driver side; the air bag on the passenger side deployed BUT NOT THE AIR BAG ON THE DRIVER SIDE. The driver suffered head injury (hematoma and cuts on scalp) & lumbar fracture and has to be treated in ER and was hospitalized for a few days. The injured driver also cannot go back to work until completely healed and still undergoing treatment. The car was moved from the towing service company shop to the storage facility of USAA (as of this writing, the vehicle is still there). In the police report, in the box for "Airbag Deployed", the officer encircled YES but did NOT specify it was for the passenger side ONLY. The insurance company declared the car NOT REPAIRABLE based on their inspections.
On Thursday the 2nd of December 2021 at 8:50 AM, I was driving by myself on the freeway heading to work and the hood popped up and smashed my entire windshield. I was unable to see and luckily managed to pull over to the left hand side of the road without hitting anything or anyone. I could have easily been hit by another car traveling at 70-80 miles per hour. Although glass shards hit me, I did not receive any personal injury. Stauffer Towing towed the vehicle to Caliber Collision. The windshield was replaced on Friday December 3rd by Caliber Collision in Salt Lake City. Caliber Collision also inspected the hood and related components. The hood will require replacement because the hinges were so badly damaged and I had to remove the hood so that this won't happen again. The hood latch had released and I later noticed that the metal supporting the latch is also having issues. The latch has been giving problems with opening and closing properly at times.
DEALERSHIP SHOWED NO RECALL FOR THIS VIN , WHEN I ENTERED IT IN THEIR WEBSITE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATE. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE WAS SKIPPING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY CVT SKIPPING OR AN EGR VALVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
I HAVE RECEIVED MANY RECALL NOTICES FROM HONDA STATING THE AIR BAG RECALL REPAIR IS FREE AND A FREE RENTAL CAR WILL PROVIDED FOR THE DAY OF THE REPAIR, HOWEVER THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE! I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP IN MY AREA MULTIPLE TIMES AND AM CONSISTENTLY TOLD RENTAL CARS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THEIR RIDE SHUTTLE IS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. I CALLED THEM BEFORE THE PANDEMIC AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING, THAT A RENTAL CAR IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THAT SERVICE! THEY SAID I CAN SIT IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR 4 HOURS (OR MORE!) DURING THE RECALL REPAIR AND THAT IS IT. I CANNOT MISS WORK TO RESOLVE THIS, I HAVE ALREADY DONE THAT IN THE PAST AS THIS IS NOT THE FIRST RECALL! I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE NOTICES IN THE MAIL TELLING ME MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS COULD DIE IF THIS PROBLEM ISN'T RESOLVED, CAUSING SO MUCH ANXIETY, AND YET I CANNOT GET THE REPAIR SCHEDULED UNLESS I TAKE AN ENTIRE DAY OFF WORK, LOSE AN ENTIRE DAY OF PAY AND SIT IN THEIR WAITING ROOM FOR HOURS (DURING A PANDEMIC)! OCEAN HONDA WOULD NOT PROVIDE RENTAL CARS BEFORE THE PANDEMIC FOR THIS RECALL SO I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE THESE LETTERS STATING A FREE RENTAL CAR IS AVAILABLE FOR THE DAY OF THE REPAIR OR LONGER - IT IS SIMPLY NOT THE CASE! I HAVE CALLED AND CALLED AND AM MET WITH RUDE CALL CENTER AGENTS TELLING ME THIS IS JUST THE WAY IT IS, WHICH MAKES THE TEXT IN YOUR LETTERS OUTRIGHT LIES. IF I NEED TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR A RECALL AND A FREE RENTAL CAR IS AVAILABLE AS YOUR LETTER STATES, PLEASE HELP ME FIND A DEALER WHO WILL HONOR THE OFFER IN THE NEVER ENDING RECALL NOTICES THAT I RECEIVE OR TAKE ME OFF OF THIS MAILING LIST SO I DO NOT HAVE TO CONTINUE TO SEE THESE THREATS OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO ME OR MY PASSENGERS AS THEY ARE CAUSING TOO MUCH STRESS AND ANXIETY FOR ME!

I HAVE A 2004 HONDA CIVIC EX. DRIVING TO GLENDALE (1 HOUR FROM WHERE I LIVE) IN THE CITY I STARTED NOTICING THE TRANSMISSION WAS JERKING. SHORTLY AFTER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. GOING UP A HILL MY TRANSMISSION WASN'T WORKING ANYMORE AND WAS REVVING WITHOUT GOING INTO GEAR. I WAS IN MOTION ON A HILL ON A VERY TIGHT ROAD WHERE ONLY 1 CAR CAN PASS AT A TIME. AND CARS WERE PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET. I ALMOST CRASHED INTO THE PARKED CARS BECAUSE I COULD'T CONTROL THE JERKING OF THE CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. I HAD CARS COMING TOWARDS ME AND HAD THE CAR STALLED ON THE ROAD AND HAD TO BLOCK THE TRAFFIC FOR 30 MIN BEFORE MY FRIENDS COULD COME AND HELP ME MOVE THE CAR. THERE WAS LITTLE AMOUNT OF SPACE AND PARKING AND HAD TO PUSH THE CAR FOR A WHILE BEFORE FINDING A PARKING SPOT. THE CAR HAS ONLY 123,000 MILES, THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IS FRESH AND CLEAN AND NEVER HAD ANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WITHIN 15 MIN THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION BLEW UP! I REALLY HOPE HONDA CAN TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I SEE THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT HONDA'S TRANSMISSION FAILING IN THESE HONDA CIVICS BETWEEN 2000 AND 2004.
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WENT OFF ON ITS OWN REALLY SCARED ME VERY DANGEROUS I WAS DRIVING I WAS ON THE STREET DRIVING ABOUT 15 20 MILES AN HOUR
TAKATA RECALL. MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN I SAW THE RECALL. MY MODEL SHOULD BE RECALLED AS WELL. ALSO EXTERIOR LIGHTING IS VERY DULL BOTH OF THESE HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY RECALLED. I WAS IN PARK, STARTED MY CAR AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. SCANNER SAYS IT'S THE INFLATOR
TURNED THE CAR ON THIS MORNING AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT TURNED ON AND HAS NOT SHUT OFF SEAT BELTS WORK JUST FINE AND NO ACCIDENTS WITH THE AUTO NOT SURE OF THE AIR BAGS IN THE CAR AT THIS TIME

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ON MONDAY, MARCH 11, 2019, THE "AIRBAG WARNING" (RED COLORED) LIGHT THAT DEPICTS A DEPLOYED AIRBAG IN FRONT OF A DRIVER (PASSENGER?) IN A FRONT SEAT, APPEARED AS I WAS DRIVING (AND NOT AT THE TIME I STARTED MY CAR'S ENGINE) ON A PAVED ROAD, NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, DRIVING AROUND 40 MPH; I WAS NOT BRAKING OR MAKING SHARP TURNS. MY HONDA MANUAL STATES THAT THIS SYMBOL MEANS THAT EITHER THE AIRBAG(S) OR THE SEATBELT MECHANISM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WITH RESPECT TO THE AIRBAG, IT STATES THAT UPON A CAR ACCIDENT, THE AIR BAG MAY NOT PROPERLY WORK; AND THEREFORE, I SHOULD HAVE MY AIRBAG(S) INSPECTED BY A HONDA DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I ALSO HAVE SIDE AIRBAGS IN MY CAR. MY SEATBELT SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE, SO I'M NOT SURE IF/HOW THIS WARNING COULD APPLY TO MY SEATBELT. I HAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG REPLACED I BELIEVE IN 2016 OR 2017; MY PAPERWORK IS IN STORAGE, HOWEVER UPON YOUR REQUEST, I WILL LOCATE THE INFORMATION. I HEARD AND READ TODAY ABOUT THE TAKATA BAG RECALL ON ABOUT 1.2 MILLION HONDA CARS FROM AROUND 2002 TO 2016. I ENTERED MY VIN NUMBER INTO YOUR SYSTEM AND IT DOES NOT INDICATE ANOTHER RECALL ON THE AIRBAG I ALREADY HAD REPLACED; I SEEM TO REMEMBER THAT THE REPLACED AIRBAG I RECEIVED AROUND 2017 WAS NOT A TAKATA, WAS ANOTHER BRAND. PERHAPS THIS WARNING LIGHT IS ABOUT THE PASSENGER'S AIRBAG? NEVERTHELESS, THIS AIRBAG AND SEATBELT WARNING LIGHT DOES CONCERN ME. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

TAKATA RECALL DURING A JANUARY SNOWFALL AND FREEZE, I WAS TRAVELING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50-60 MILES PER HOUR, WITH THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC. A CAR APPROXIMATELY 7-8 CAR LENGTHS AHEAD OF ME BEGAN TO BREAK AND I DID TOO. I WAS BREAKING WHEN MY CAR BEGAN TO FISHTAIL AND I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR FOR 2-3 SECONDS BEFORE HITTING A PATCH OF ICE AND SPINNING INTO THE HIGHWAY CONCRETE MEDIAN. MY CAR DID NOT HIT ANY OTHER VEHICLES BEFORE HITTING THE MEDIAN ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND HOOD. I ESTIMATE THAT I WAS TRAVELING OVER 40 MILES AN HOUR. THE CAR THEN SPUN AROUND AND HIT THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE AND THEN SPUN AGAIN TO FACING FORWARD. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE AIRBAGS, WHICH WERE REPLACED IN THE TAKATA RECALL A FEW YEARS AGO DID NOT GO OFF. THE CAR WAS CONSIDERED TOTALED AND WAS DONATED.
TAKATA RECALL: TOP OF FUEL PUMP UNDER BACK SEAT CRACKED ON TOP WITH NO OTHER VISIBLE DAMAGE CAUSING FUEL TO SPRAY IN TO THE COMPARTMENT UNDER THE SEAT RESULTING IN STRONG FUEL FUMES AND GAS LEAKING UNDER THE CAR AROUND THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WHICH CAN RESULT IN A FIRE OR HEALTH ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH GAS FUMES.

THE CAR TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. SOMETIMES IT WORKS AND SOMETIMES THE ENGINE IS FINE, BUT WHEN I ACCELERATE THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD RIGHT AWAY. ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. IT HAS PLENTY OF FLUID, BUT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE.
THE HOOD ROD CONTACTED THE BATTERY TERMINAL AND APPEARS TO HAVE STARTED A FIRE DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING.
TAKATA RECALL-AIRBAG LIGHT RECENTLY CAME ON AND STAYS ON WHEN IGNITION IS IN DRIVE CAR MOVING OR NOT. I WAS SENT A NOTICE THROUGH THE POST OFFICE THAT STATED MY CAR MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS. THANK YOU.
MY HONDA CIVIC 2004 AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON, AND DEALER WILL NOT FIXED BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT UNDER RECALL BUT SAME TIME 2004 HONDA CIVIC MODELS HAS BEEN EFFECTED IN AIRBAG RECALL
MY HONDA CIVIC HAD AN AIR BAG RECALL, WHICH I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER THE FIX, MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD IT CHECKED OUT AT ANOTHER SHOP AND THEY RESET MY LIGHT. IT COME BACK ON APPROXIMATELY EVERY MONTH. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IT IS SUSPICIOUS THAT I NEVER HAD ANY SUCH PROBLEM UNTIL THE HONDA DEALER REPLACED THE AIR BAG. THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND INSIST IT IS NOT THERE RESPONSIBILITY. COINCIDENCE I DON'T THINK SO. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUED WITH OTHER HONDA OWNERS WHO HAVE UNDERGONE THIS PROCEDURE

TAKATA RECALL THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASHBOARD CAME ON A MONTH AGO; IT NEVER GOES OFF. I HAD ONE AIRBAG REPLACED PER HONDA DEALER'S ADVICE A COUPLE YEARS AGO. SHOULD I TAKE IT IN AGAIN??

RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON MY 2004 CIVIC STATING THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG INFLATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TOOK IT TO THE CLOSET DEALERSHIP. AFTER AN INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE I WAS TOLD THEY WERE UNABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL DUE TO AIRBAG BELONGS TO A DIFFERENT YEAR CIVIC AND RECALL IS NOT VALID. WHEN PURCHASING THE USED VEHICLE I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THAT THE AIRBAG HAD BEEN REPLACED. AFTER RECEIVING ANOTHER NOTICE THAT I HAD NOT COMPLETED THE SAFETY RECALL I TOOK IT AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP, ALONG WITH THE WRITTEN SAFETY RECALL NOTICE. AGAIN I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL AIR BAG INSTALLED. I HAVE RECEIVED A THIRD NOTICE ABOUT THE RECALL FROM HONDA AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT REPORT THIS INFORMATION ON MY VEHICLE. HOW DO I KNOW THAT THE AIRBAG IN MY VEHICLE IS SAFE?
MY AIRBAG/SEAT BELT LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY
RECALL HAS BEEN CORRECTED AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN OXFORD, NC. THERE WAS NO CRASH. I RECEIVED A NOTICE AND TOOK THE CAR TO THE SHOP.
THIS IS THE SECOND 04 HONDA CIVIC I'VE OWNED. THE FIRST ONE WAS A HYBRID AND THE TRANSMISSION BLEW WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CIVIC I OWN NOW ONLY HAS 85K AND WAS PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY AN OLD LADY SINCE IT WAS NEW. BUT LOW AND BEHOLD THE TRANSMISSION BLEW WHILE DRIVING AGAIN. HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO GET INJURED OR KILLED IN ORDER FOR THIS TO BE RECALLED?????

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAGS, BUT DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE EXACT CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC ADVISED GETTING THE FAILURE REMEDIED IN ORDER TO PASS INSPECTION. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
VEHICLE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT. AFTER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT INTO THE SEAT BELT RETAINER. I FEEL VERY DANGEROUS AND HONDA WILL NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE. STATING IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY.
THEY SENT ME A LETTER ON THE MY NAME MY MOTHERS ME WHICH IS I RETURN THE LETTER AND SAY MY MOTHER IS NOT THE OWNER OF MY HONDA VIVO 2004 WHEN I CALL THE HONDA DEALER TO MAKE SURE AND GO OVER AND GET FIXED,THEY SAY THEY ALREADY FIXED IT IN 2015 .SO I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPEN WITH THE NEW RECALL LETTER THAT YOU GUYS SENT ME UNDER MY MOTHERS NAME .
TAKATA RECALL: MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS. AND NOW RECIEVING THIS SETTLEMENT NOTICE ON AIR BAGS HAVE GOT ME WORRIED. CAN I TAKE MY CAR TO A HONDA DEALER TO BE FIXED WITH OUT A CHARGE?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA CIVIC. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A TAKATA SETTLEMENT NOTICE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 155,000.
MY KEY WOULD COME OUT OF THE IGNITION WHILE NOT IN PARK, THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES DOES NOT FULLY GO INTO PARK UNLESS FORCEFULLY PULLED BACK INTO PARK SO SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T BE IN PARK ALL NIGHT OR WHILE IN PUBLIC PARKING LOTS. MY HONDA MADE KEY HAD TO GO INTO THE IGNITION FACING PERFECTLY ONE WAY TO START THE CAR THEN THE IGNITION COMPLETELY REFUSED THE KEY AND WOULDN'T TURN ONCE IT ACCEPTED IT. WHILE I WAS TRYING TO GET MY KEY TO TURN THE IGNITION THE CAR, IN A PUBLIC GAS STATION PARKING LOT, WAS NOT EVEN IN PARK EVEN THOUGH I WAS COMPLETELY ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. MY IGNITION NO LONGER TURNS AT ALL, I'VE ALREADY CHECKED THAT THE CHIP IN MY KEY IS STILL FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. POLICE OFFICERS TRIED TO HELP ME CORRECT THE ISSUE WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS NOW ALSO ACTING UP SINCE THIS INCIDENT THE RADIO FLASHES INSTEAD OF STAYING ON, I AM NOW UNABLE TO CHANGE THE TIME ON THE RADIO CLOCK AND MY INTERIOR LIGHTS HAD TO BE REMOVED BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO SHUT OFF.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, I DON'T KNOW WHY.
WHEN I STOPED AT A STOP SIGN, MY AIRBAG DEPLOYED, KNOCKING ME UNCONSCIOUS. I PROCEEDED TO HIT A TREE GOING AT AN ACCELERATED SPEED. I WAS AIRLIFTED BY HELICOPTER TO A TRAMA HOSPITAL. I HAD 3 FRACTURED RIBS, A BROKEN STERNUM, AND 4 BROKEN BONES IN MY LOWER BACK. I FRECEIVED A CALL BACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THIS ACCIDENT WAS BECAUSE OF FRAUD FROM TAKATA, AND HONDA. MY CAR SHOULD'VE BEEN RECALLED.
AIR BAG SRS SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT WITH MY R FOOT ON THE BREAK. SUDDENLY THE CAR WENT INTO AN UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. I COULD HEAR THE ENGINE REVVING. IN A FEW SECONDS, IT HIT THE CAR DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME AND STOPPED UPON IMPACT BUT IF THAT CAR HADN'T BEEN THERE I WOULD HAVE BEEN PROPELLED INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION WITH CROSSWAYS TRAFFIC. IT WAS LIKE A NIGHTMARE. THIS WAS AT A VERY BUSY CITY STREET INTERSECTION AT A BUSY TIME OF DAY (3 PM), ON THE ACCESS RD TO A MAJOR INTERSTATE HWY IN A LARGE METRO AREA. THE OTHER DRIVER AND VALET GUYS FROM A HOTEL ACROSS THE STREET WITNESSED I WAS EXTREMELY SHAKEN UP BUT ALERT AND IN MY RIGHT MIND, ETC.
TAKATA RECALL MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR ABOUT A YEAR, AFTER READING ALL THIS TAKATA RECALL INFORMATION. I WONDER IF HONDA WILL TAKE IN MY CAR FOR SERVICE.
TAKATA RECALL --TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BIG STAR HONDA IN HOUSTON, FOR THE RECALL TO FIX THE AIR BAGS AS PER THEIR APPOINTMENT SCHEDULE ON 11/21/2016 9:15AM, (IT TOOK ME 3 TRIES TO SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT BECAUASE THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE).THE PROMISE WAS IT WILL BE READY BY 3 HOURS -- BUT AROUND 4.15 PM MY CAR WAS READY TO BE PICKED UP AS I DROVE OF THE PARKING LOT INTO THE FEEDER ROAD OF THE HIGHWAY I 45 SOUTH I NOTICED THE RED AIRBAG LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT COME ON --- I CALLED THE DEALER ON MY CELLPHONE RIGHT THEN AS I WAS DRIVING HOME TRIED 3 DIFFERENT NUMBERS LEFT MESSAGES CALLED AGAIN THIS MORNING (11/22/2016) NO RESPONSE I OPENED UP ANOTHER CASE NUMBER WITH HONDA PARENT COMPANY CASE # 03744997. THERE IS NO VISIBLE SIGN ON THE AIRBAG AREA TO SHOW IF THEY DID ANY WORK TO EXCHANGE THE INFLATOR; THE RECALL WAS FOR BOTH PASSANGER AND DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG.
I TOOK OUR HONDA INTO THE HONDA DEALER FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL. THEY CHANGED THE AIRBAG ON OCT 20 2016. AFTER A FEW DAYS THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. THEY DID A SCAN AND NOW THEY SAY THE SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ABOUT $700.00. I AM SEEING THRU GOOGLE SEARCHES THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM AFTER THE AIRBAG IS REPLACED. AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING HONDA PROBLEM I AM THINKING THEY SHOULD RECTIFY PROBLEM OR INSTALL ORIGINAL AIRBAG BACK TO FIX. AS THIS WAS A CAR ONLY DRIVEN 5 TO 6 MONTHS A YEAR AND THEN STORED FOR THE REST NOW THAT WE WANT TO SELL WE NEED TO GET FIXED
GOOD MORNING, WE TOOK OUR HONDA CIVIC IN FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL RECENTLY. LAST WEEKEND THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WE RETURN TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T CHECK IT OUT UNLESS WE PAID AN INITIAL $150.00 SERVICE FEE AND THAT IT WAS PROBABLY THE SEAT BELT THAT BROKE AND NOT THE AIR BAG BUT THAT ITS NOT COVERED SINCE WE NOW HAVE GONE OVER THE 80,000 MILE LIMIT ON THEIR LIABILITY.
