Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)Driving down the highway on April 6, 2024 I hear a loud explosion and the passenger rear window had exploded sending glass flying everywhere. The window is completely exploded. Today was the first warm day that I had to turn the air conditioning on in the car and 5-10 min after I turned the air-conditioning on, the window exploded.
THE AUTOMATIC CLOSING OF THE TAILGATE IS HAZARDOUS AND HAS CLOSED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES. CAR WAS PARKED AND NOT MOVING EVERY TIME LEANING INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WITH FEET UNDER THE BUMPER IS ENOUGH TO CLOSE THE TAILGATE.. TURNING AROUND WHEN NEAR THE BUMPER WILL CAUSE IT TO CLOSE.ONE TIME I WAS KNOCKED DOWN TRING TO AVOID THE CLOSING AND FELL AND TOOK SEVERAL LAYERS OF SKIN OFF MY SHOULDER AND ARM. ONCE IT STARTS IT WILL NOT STOP EVEN IF A PERSON TRIES TO HOLD IT.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
