SEAT BRACKET TORE LOOSE OF FLOOR BOARD MOUNTING BRACKET. DT
THE TIMING BELT BROKE 2500 MILES BEFORE FIRST SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE CAUSING THE CAR TO BREAK DOWN ON THE FREEWAY, THANKFULLY WE WERE STUCK IN TRAFFIC OTHERWISE THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE! THE DEALER IS NOW TELLING ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE FOR 7000.00 DOLLARS. IF I HAD BEEN TOLD TO CHANGE THE BELT SOONER I WOULD HAVE DONE SO. I FOLLOW THE MAINTENANCE SHCEDULE IN MY OWNERS MANUAL BECAUSE IT CLEARLY STATES THAT FAILURE TO DO SO CAN CAUSE INJURY OR EVEN DEATH CAUSED BY AN ACCIDENT DUE TO EQUIPMENT FAILURE. IF THE MANUAL SAYS 105K MILES TO CHANGE THE TIMING BELT, IT SHOULD BE EXPECTED TO LAST UNTIL 105K MILES. WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT A HEADLIGHT HERE, THIS FAILURE CAUSED MY ENTIRE CAR TO SIEZE UP ON ME. THE ENTIRE CAR SHUT OFF INCLUDING STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. THANK GOD I WAS NOT GOING 65MPH. THE SEAT BELT IS DESIGNED IN SUCH A WAY AS IT CAN WRAP AROUND THE SEAT BACK TILT ADJUSTMENT, CAUSING THE DRIVERS SEAT BACK TO FLY BACK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE LEAVING A TOLL BOOTH ON THE INDIANA TOLLWAY. IT APPEARS TO BE HAPPENING MORE OFTEN AS THE VEHICLE AGES AND THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM BECAME WORN. *AK
DELAYED DEPLOYMENT OF AIR-BAG CAUSING SEVERE HEAD INJURY TO THE DRIVER. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE EXTERIOR MIRRROR GIVES FAULTY REFLECTION CAUSING THE IMAGE TO BE FURTHER BACK THEN NECESSARY. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. NLM
WHILE DRIVING TRANSMISSION WILL FLIP IN AND OUT OF GEAR, SOMETIMES COULD GO ON TO HIGH GEAR OR LOW GEAR. WHEN STEPPING ON ACCELERATOR IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE, DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*AK

AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER INSPECTING VEHICLE, DEALER DETERMINED A DEFECT IN THE UNIT, AND IT HAD TO BE REPLACED.*AK
DURING NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE, "SRS" WARNING LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WILL ILLUMINATE AND STAY ON. DEALERSHIP HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND REPLACED SRS UNIT DUE TO AN UNKNOWN FAILURE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / DOCUMENTATION.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN, THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. NLM THE ENGINE SHUT OFF 13 TIMES DUE TO IGNITION FAILURE. THE IGNITION WAS REPLACED. *YH

WHILE COMING TO AN ABRUPT STOP THE SEAT RIPPED CLEAR OF THE FRONT LEFT MOUNTING BRACKET THAT HELD IT TO THE FLOORBOARD. APPROXIMATELY A YEAR LATER THE PROBLEM HAS REOCCURED. *YH *NLM
AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON. EVEN WITH TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF.*AK *JB
FIVE TIRES ARE ORIGINAL EQUIPTMENT AT TIME OF PURCHASE. THE TIRE THAT FAILED WAS ONLY IN USE SINCE APROXIMATELY JANUARY 27, 2001. THE MILEAGE ON THE SPARE IS UNDER 6000 OF DAILY CITY DRIVING AND ABOUT FIVE TRIPS OF OVER 240 MILES. THE FAILED TIRE LOST ITS ENTIRE TREAD LIKE A BANANA PEELING ON A CALIFORNIA INTERSTATE 5 NORTHBOUND AND WAS NOT RECOVERED. THE TREAD CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WELL AND BUMPER AND RIGHT DOOR PANEL. FOR REASONS THAT ONLY OUR GOD ALMIGHTY KNOWS, THE TIRE DID NOT BLOW OUT AND THE STEEL THREAD HELD IN PLACE. NEITHER THE HONDA DEALERSHIP OR BRIDGESTONE DEALER AT SEARS STORE HAD ANY WARNINGS ON THIS BRIDGESTONE TIRE MODEL EXPERIENCING TREAD SEPARATION. I HAVE DONE SOME LIMITED INTERNET CHECKING REGARDING FIRESTONE/BRIDGESTONE TIRES BUT HAVE NOT FOUND THIS MODEL ON ANY LIST AS YET. I SHARE THIS INFORMATION SO THAT IF ANY OTHER INCIDENTS WITH THIS MODEL ARISE OR HAVE ALREADY BEEN SHARED, THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE SCRUTINEZED FOR SAFETY HAZARD CONCERN. THE SPARE TIRE INCLUDED WITH THE NEW VEHICLE WAS MOUNTED AND USED ON APPROXIMATELY 6/20/01. ON 6/29/01 THE TIRE TREAD BECAME SEPARATED FROM THE REST OF THE TIRE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE TREAD SEPARATION CAUSED VEHICLE BODY DAMAGE. TIRE WAS SUBMITTED TO MANUFACTURER FOR ADJUSTMENT. A PARALEGAL FOR THE MANUFACTURER STATED 'SORRY' AND DECLARED THAT AN 'IMPACT BREAK' WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR TREAD SEPARATION AND I WAS DENIED COMPENSATION FOR THE TIRE REPLACEMENT AND VEHICLE DAMAGE. DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT IS DEFECTIVE. THERE IS A PLASTIC BOLT UNDERNEATH VEHICLE WHICH IS UNTACHED INSIDE OF HOLE WITHIN BOLT AREA ASSEMBLY. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
MELTED METAL FALLING FROM UNDER INSTRUMENT PANEL ONTO DRIVER'S FOOT. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO IGNITION SWITCH HAVING MELTED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, HOWEVER CONSUMER STATES THEY DID NOT PERFORM AS DESIGNED, WHEN BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED THEY WERE THE SIZE OF POPCORN BAGS, IN WHICH THEY DID NOT PROTECT CONSUMER, HE RECEIVED SECOND AND THIRD DEGREE CHEMICAL BURNS.*JB
VEHICLE WAS COMPLETLELY STOPPED, AND ANOTHER VEHICLE REARENDED CONSUMER. UPON IMPACT AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE SEATBACK BROKE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED. *AK
CONSUMER WAS STOPPED WHEN A VEHICLE FROM THE REAR CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE, AIRBAG DEPLOYED VIOLENTLY, IT PUSHED THE DRIVER BACK WITH FORCE, CAUSING SEAT BACK TO COLLAPSE, RESULTING IN MULITPLE INJURIES. *YC
LEFT REAR TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT/TREAD SEPARATION WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 70 MPH. DRIVER & 3 PASSENGERS IN A 1997 HONDA, CRV, ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, P205/70R15, DOT# EMYTCAF277. VEHICLE SKIDDED AROUND CORNER & STARTED SWERVING ON DRY ROAD. WENT ACROSS THE LEFT SIDE OF ROAD & PLOWED INTO DIRT & JUMPED UP & FLIPPED OVER ON FENCE POLE & FLIPPED OVER AGAIN. *AK
CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING AT 65MPH, SPEED BEGAN TO DECREASE TO 52 AND CONTINUED DROPPING WHEN ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT APPROX 25 MPH WAS REARENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS DRIVING AT APPROX 55MPH.DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE , FELL BACK ON TOP OF DAUGHTER WHICH WAS SITTING BEHIND HER. THIS DEFECT COULD RESULT IN INJURIES. *AK
WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ENGAGED IT DECLINES IN SPEED WHILE GOING ON AN INCLINE DIRECTION - VIA - UPHILL.
WHEN USING THE CRUISE CONTROL THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MAINTAIN SPEED GOING UP OR DOWN HILL. THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED ON 9/2/97. *AK
VEHILCES REAR SHOULDER BELT SOME HOW RAPPED AROUND CHILDS NECK AND IT WAS NOT EVEN IN THE LATCH, THE BELT LOCKED UP AND HAD TO BE CUT IN ORDER TO GET THE STRAP FROM AROUND THE CHILDS NECK. *AK *JB

CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATES WITHOUT WARNING. PROBLEM OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DEALERS CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. OWNER VERY CONCERNED FOR SAFETY. *AK
SPEED CONTROL FAILURE. SPEED CONTROL WILL NOT KEEP THE ENGINE UP TO SPEEED WHEN GOING UP A HILL. ALSO, AT SPEEDS ABOVE 52 MPH, TRANSMISSION WILL NOT DOWSHIFT.
ON A HEAVY RAINY DAY, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 35-40MPH WHEN MY VEHICLE HIT A WATER PUDDLE. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT SIDE ALMOST HITTING A CEMENT WALL SIDE ON. SO I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE DIRECTION IT WAS GOING AND THEN I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT AND THE VEHICLE SWIRVED INTO THE LEFT LANE AND FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL.
THE SEAT BELT, WHEN SEAT IS IN THE FOWARD POSITION, BECOMES TANGLED IN THE SEATBACK RELEASE WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE FLOOR, CAUSING THE SEAT TO RELEASE INTO A RECLINED POSITION WHILE DRIVING. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK

BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/T TIRES STANDARD EQUIPMENT ON THIS VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 TO 70 MPH UNDER HOT WEATHER CONDITIONS TWO REAR TIRES SPLIT ALL THE WAY AROUND, AS IF THEY WERE CUT. TREAD DID NOT SEPARATE. BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
WE HAVE HAD A RECURRENT PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SEAT WHERE IF YOU LEAN BACK ON THE SEAT, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RELEASE AND BECOME RECUMBANT. IT HAS HAPPENED WITH A MOVEMENT AS SIMPLE AS REACHING BACK TO HAND MY CHILD A DRINK. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF I AM EVER IN AN ACCIDENT THAT THIS SEAT WILL FAIL AND SEVERLY INJURE THE DRIVER AS WELL AS THE PERSON THAT IS SITTING BEHIND HIM/HER. IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AS EARLY AS A FEW THOUSAND MILES ON THE CARE. HAS THIS BEEN REPORTED BY OTHER DRIVERS??*AK
THE VEHICLE STALLS SUDDENLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. SOMETIMES WHEN I FIRST START THE ENGINE AND IN IDLE, THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY SHUT OFF BY ITSELF. OTHER TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING ON THE STREET AND THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY STOP. SOMETIMES THERE IS AN INDICATION THAT IT WILL STALL BECAUSE MOMENTS BEFORE IT DOES THE RPM GUAGE WILL DROP TO ZERO AND GO BACK TO WHERE IT WAS BEFORE BUT THEN THE CAR WILL STALL. OTHER TIMES THE ENGINE WILL JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO HAVE A DIGANOSTIC DONE AT THE HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. WE HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE COMPUTER MODULE AND THE COILS FROM A PRIVATE AUTO MECHANIC. THE CAR RESTARTS AFTER STALLING BUT IT TAKES UP TO 5 TRYS TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT HAS STALLED ON THE FREEWAY AND IN TRAFFIC. *AK
DEALERSHIP WAS REFUSING TO PUT BACK THE MANUFACTED FACTORY INSTALLED ALARM SYSTEM IN AFTER THE RECALL FOR IGNITION SWITCH WAS COMPLETED.*AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 02V12 REGARDING THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THERE WOULD BE AN EXTRA CHARGE TO RECONNECT THE THE ALARM. THE ALARM WAS INSTALLED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND CONSUMER DOESN'T FEEL A CHARGE SHOULD IMPLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TO COME EQUIPPED WITH AN ALARM BUT DIDN'T. THE DEALER INSTALLED THE ALARM BUT IT WAS AN AFTER MARKET ALARM AND NOT A HONDA ALARM THE REASON FOR THE CHARGE. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE THE SITUATION LOOKED INTO. *JG
