THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE CLUTCH PEDAL ARE PLACED TOO FAR APART; OVER 5 INCHES.
FRONT ROTORS GO OUT EVERY 3500 MILES. VERY BAD VIBRATION--I'M ON FORTH SET OF ROTORS NOW. EVERY SET DOES SAME THING.. ACT LIKE THERE WARPED BUT HONDA CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THEM. DANGEROUS AT HIGHER SPEEDS--VIBRATES SO BAD YOU CAN'T SEE. HARD TO CONTROL
WHILE VEHICLE WAS GOING ABOUT 15-20 MPH AIRBAG DEPLOYED, DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE, WENT OFF ROAD AND THE SUV TURNED OVER ON ITS SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
1998 HONDA CRV WITH ABS PROBLEM. CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE ACCELERATOR ALSO BECAME ENGAGED ALMOST OVERRIDING THE BRAKES. *KB

RIGHTSIDE SPEAKER IS NOISY. *YC
THE CRUISE CONTROL / AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM OF THE 1998 HONDA CR-V HAVE A POTENTIALLY DANDEROUS PROBLEMS. WHEN THE SYSTEM IS ON CRUISE CONTROL @ 60-75 MPH AND ENCOUNTERS RESISTANCE, SUCH AS CLIMBING A STEADY SLOPE, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS, CAUSING VERY HIGH ENGINE RPMS. THE RPMS HOLD AT 5 TO 6.5 THOUSAND FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS BACK TO FOURTH GEAR, RETURNING THE RPMS TO A SAFE LEVEL. THIS HIGH RPM LEVEL MUST DO DAMAGE TO ENGINE AT TIMES EXCEEDING THE RED LINE. *AK
STEERING WHEEL DESIGN ON VEHICLE IS ON AN ANGLE, POSSIBLE DESIGN FLAW WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURY IF AIR BAG DEPLOYS AT AN ANGLE.
AIR CONDITIONER DOES NOT COOL THE CAR IF THE OUTSIDE TEMP IS ABOVE 90DEGREES,THE BACK SEAT IS 80DEGREES,I WAS TOLD TO INSTALL TINT ON THE WINDOWS,THATS ALL THAT CAN BE DONE. *AK

VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN JAPAN. KNUCKLE ARM BROKE, CAUSING LEFT FRONT TIRE TO COME OFF, AND RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT. HONDA SAYS THAT FAILURE WAS DUE TO DRIVER ERROR, OWNER MAINTAINS THAT IT WAS A DEFECT. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND STEERING LOCKED UP IN RIGHT TURN POSITION. TO GET STEERING WHEEL RELEASED VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK
BOTH REAR TIRES REPLACED PRIOR TO RECALL 00T-005, TIRES HAD PLENTY OF TREAD, BUT COULD HAVE BLOWN AT ANY TIME, CONSUMER IS SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FROM FIRESTONE. *CJ
FLOOR MATS MOVE AND BLOCK GAS PEDAL FROM MOVING TO THE IDLE POSITION.*AK
WHILE IN MOTION, THE HEAT SHIELD THAT COVERS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FELL OFF, THE FOUR BOLTS THAT HOLD THE SHEILD IN PLACE HAD CORRODED. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE. CONSUMER EXPLAINS THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS REFUSED SERVICE IT WAS WELL WITHIN THE WARANTY PERIOD. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE A FIRE COULD DEVELOP DUE TO DEFECTIVE MATERIALS. *JG
THE CONNECTING BOLTS FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER SHIELD HAD CORRODED AND CAUSED THE SHIELD TO FALL OFF AND DRAGGED ON THE ROAD WHILE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING. THE DEALER WAS UNWILLING TO REPLACE THE SHIELD. *YH
CONSUMER STATES THE HEAT SHIELD THAT COVERS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL. THE FOUR CONNECTING BOLTS WHICH ARE MADE OF ORDINARY STEEL HAS CORRODED. AS A RESULT THE SHIELD FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING AND DRAGGED ON THE ROAD. ALL FOUR BOLTS HAD RUSTED AWAY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO REPLACE IT UNDER THE FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY. *TT
CONSUMER STATES THAT AFTER DEALERSHIP REMOVE ALARM SYSTEM TO HAVE RECALL DONE, THEY CHARGED TO HAVE ALARM RECONNECTED. TS
AFTER HAVING VEHICLE REPAIRED FOR RECALLS, CONSUMER NOTICED THE ALARM SYSTEM WAS NOT OPERATING. WHEN QUESTIONING HONDA SERVICE MEN, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE NOT OBLIGATED TO REINSTALL THE ALARM AS THEY HAD TO UNINSTALL IT TO PERFORM THE RECALL. *JG

CONSUMER STATES ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES, AND VEHICLE IS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE AND JERKING WHILE DRIVING. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, DEALER REPLACED CATALYTIC CONVERTER. *AK
THERE IS VIBRATION IN THE ENTIRE VEHICLE DUE TO ENGINE VALVE FAILURE. DEALERSHIP HAS CONTINUOUSLY REPLACED ENGINE VALVE, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING. THIS WAS DUE TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER INDICATED THAT WATER GOT INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THEN, TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED.*AK *MR
