THE CAR PULLS SEVERLY TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 4 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE, HE DID A WHEEL ROTATION AND REALIGNMENT BUT OF NO USE. THE DEALER SAYS THAT EVERYTHING IS WITHIN THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS BUT THE PULL TO THE RIGHT PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. CAR TRYS TO CHANGE LANES BY ITSELF ON THE HIGHWAY. HAD TO PLL BACK HARD A COUPLE OF TIMES TO AVOID ACCIDENT.
LED LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD OF MY 2005 HONDA CRV BEGAN FAILING APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO (MAY 2008) AND HAVE NOW BURNED OUT ON LEFT SIDE, OBSCURING TACHOMETER AND TEMP GAUGE AND 1/2 OF SPEEDOMETER. HONDA SERVICE IN NEW BRITAIN CT (SCHALLER) REFUSED TO FIX UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY (LIGHT BULBS NOT COVERED). IT APPEARS OTHERS HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM. HONDA SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL ALL '05 CRVS FOR A GLOBAL FIX. *TR
PURCHASED A NEW 2005 HONDA CRV IN EARLY 2005. WHEN WE PICKED UP OUR NEW VEHICLE, WE NOTICED IT PULLING TO THE RIGHT ON OUR RIDE HOME. THINKING THE FRONT END NEEDED ALIGNMENT, WE WEREN'T ALARMED AT THE TIME. WE RECENTLY RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER FOR CORRECTION OF THE PULLING TO THE RIGHT (PTTR) PROBLEM. AFTER HAVING THE FRONT END REALIGNED WE DROVE OFF THE LOT AND NOTICED IT WAS STILL PTTR. RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THEIR NEXT STEP WAS TO CHANGE THE RIGHT FRONT HUB AND SWITCH THE FRONT WHEELS. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE RESULT WAS THE VEHICLE NOW PULLED TO THE LEFT. BASED ON THIS FINDING THEY DECIDED THE ORIGINAL FRONT RIGHT TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE. SINCE REPLACEMENT TIRES ARE ON BACKORDER, THEY PUT OUR SPARE TIRE ON THE FRONT LEFT AND PUT THE DEFECTIVE TIRE ON THE BACK AS THE SPARE. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN OK WITH US, BUT THE VEHICLE STILL PTTR. NOT SURE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE NEXT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THE OTHER 4 HONDAS WE HAVE OWNED. *AK

2005 HONDA CR-V MAKES A "ROARING" NOISE WHEN BETWEEN 1500 AND 2000 RPMS. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND THE CENTER BEARING OF THE DRIVE SHAFT. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. *JB
I AM EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM OF HEADLIGHT SHORTING OUT AS YOUR NEW RECALL FOR 2002 - 2004 OWNERS. MY CAR IS 2005 UT NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. WHY??? *JS
I PURCHASED A 2005 HONDA CR-V IN MARCH OF 2005 AFTER DOING EXTENSIVE VEHICLE RESEARCH, VISITING TWO (2) DEALERSHIPS AND TEST DRIVING TWO (2) CR-VS. AFTER HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES, I NOTICED A CONSTANT PULL TO THE RIGHT (PTTR) AT ALL SPEEDS AND RATES OF ACCELERATION. DURING MY INITIAL RESEARCH ON THE CR-V, AS WELL AS POST-PURCHASE VISITS TO VEHICLE FORUM WEBSITES, I REALIZED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING TORQUE STEER. THE PTTR IS ONLY PRESENT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS ENGAGED MANUALLY OR VIA CRUISE CONTROL. THERE IS NO PTTR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS COASTING. THE DISAPPOINTING THING ABOUT THIS CONDITION IS THAT - DURING PURCHASE AND PRICE NEGOTIATIONS - I ASKED THE SALES PERSON AND SALES MANAGER ABOUT CR-V TORQUE STEER ISSUES DIRECTLY. THEIR RESPONSE TO ME, QUITE SIMPLY, WAS THAT THEY WERE NOT FAMILIAR WITH ANY SUCH CONDITION. HOWEVER, POST SALES FOLLOW-UP BY THE HONDA DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS FAMILIARITY WITH REPORTS OF TORQUE STEER RESULTING FROM THE NEW V-TECH ENGINES. THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS UNDERSTANDING OF MY FRUSTRATION, MADE NOTE OF IT FOR REVIEW AT THE VEHICLES FIRST MAINTENANCE. THIS CONDITION, ALTHOUGH NOT DANGEROUS IN MY VEHICLE, DETRACTS SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE, SHOULD NOT BE PRESENT AND SHOULD BE REMEDIED BY HONDA IMMEDIATELY.
MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A 2005 CVR 10 DAYS AGO. AS OF DAY ONE THE CRV PULLS SERVERLY TO THE RIGHT. WE HAVE HAD NO HELP FROM THE DEALER. WON'T ANSWER OUR CALLS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. OUR TIRES HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND THEY ARE FINE. WHEN GOING OVER A SMALL BUMP YOU NEED TO PULL THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO NOT GO INTO THE OTHER LANE. WHEN DRIVING ON A FLAT ROAD YOU NEED TO KEEP THE TURNED LEFT SO IT DOESN'T FO INTO THE OTHER LANE. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE STREET OR TIRE AIR PRESSURE WHEN WE PULLED OUT OF THE DEARLERS AFTER THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED. THEY MADE IT SEEM IT WAS NO BIG DEAL. I FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. *AK
PURCHASED 2005 HONDA CRV FOR TEENAGED DAUGHTER IN DECEMBER 2004. HER MOTHER DROVE THE CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME ON MARCH 5, 2005 AND WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE SEVERE TORQUE STEER PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE. AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY UNDER HARD ACCELERATION, THE STEERING WHEEL SLIPPED FROM MY WIFE'S HANDS AND THE CAR STRUCK THE CURB ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS BLEW BOTH TIRES ON THE RIGHT SIDE. AT MY OWN EXPENSE, I HAD ALL FOUR TIRE REPLACED AND A FOUR-WHEEL ALIGNMENT DONE AT AN INDEPENDENT DEALER. TORQUE STEER IS STILL VERY PREVALENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER YESTERDAY AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR THAT THE PULLING TO THE RIGHT WAS CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CRV. TO THE POINT WHERE IT STEERS YOU INTO A CURB!?? I AM TOLD THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS CONDITION. NOW I AM OUT $600 FOR REPAIRS, AND I'M NOT SO SURE I WANT MY DAUGHTER DRIVING THIS CAR.*AK
WE PURCHASED A 2005 HONDA CRV IN JANUARY 2005 AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT, WHICH HAS CAUSED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE TO BLOW OUT ON ONE OCCASION AFTER CONDUCTING A RIGHT HAND TURN AROUND A CURB. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUES PULLING TO THE RIGHT. *NM

I ATTEMPTED TO PURCHASE A 2005 HONDA CR-V, EX TRIM, 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I FOUND THAT THREE OF THE VEHICLES I TEST DROVE HAVE A PULL TO THE RIGHT, VARYING FROM MODERATE TO SEVERE BETWEEN VEHICLES. WHEN I COMPLAINED, THE DEALER DID NOT FIX THE VEHICLE, BUT ADDED AN EXTRA 10 POUNDS OF PRESSURE TO THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE - THIS OF COURSE MASKED (BUT DIDN'T CURE) THE PROBLEM. I ENDED UP CANCELING MY CONTRACT AND WALKED AWAY -- FROM THE EDMUNDS.COM FORUMS, IT SEEMS THAT OTHERS WERE NOT AS FORTUNATE AND NOW MAY BE STUCK WITH FAULTY VEHICLES. *JB
I BOUGHT A 05 HONDA CRV SE AND I CHANGED THE TIRES TO GOODYEAR ASSURANCE FOR BETTER GRIP FOR THE WINTER. THE VEHICLE WITH CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE THAN WAS CHECKED TO FAULT IN ALIGNMENT TWICE (ONCE FROM THE HONDA DEALER AND AGAIN AT PROFESSIONAL TIRE SHOP) AND FOUND NO FAULT. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO PULL TO THE RIGHT AS WELL AS HAVING TOO MUCH TORQUE STEER WHEN IT STARTS TO ACCELERATE FROM THE A LIGHT OR A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE IS NOT EVEN HALF A YEAR OLD.*AK
AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BOTH FRONT AND SIDE WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A MALL PARKING LOT. THE OBSTRUCTION OF VIEW CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO RUN INTO A LIGHT POLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BROKEN ARM, FRACTURED CHEEK, DISLOCATED NOSE AND JAW, AND 8 STITCHES IN HER LIP. *JB
OUR 2005 HONDA CRV'S ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE APPROIMATELY. 300 MILES AFTER THE FIRST OIL CHANGE. THE DEALER PERFORMED THE OIL CHANGE NOT US. THE DEALER BLAMED IT ON A FAULTY OIL FILTER.*AK

THE WERE TRYING ALIGNMENTS, CHANGING THE TIRES, AND OTHER THINGS. *AK DEALER CHANGED STRUT ANGLE PER SERVICE BULLETIN; ADJUSTED ENGINE MOUNT AND CHANGE TIRES. HOWEVER PROBLEM STILL EXIST. *TT
THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2005 HONDA CR-V BURN OUT AFTER AN UNUSUALLY SHORT TIME. OVER MY YEARS OF OWNING THE 2005 HONDA CR-V WHICH I BOUGHT IN 2004, THE LOW BEAM BULBS BURN OUT ANNUALLY. NOW, THE DRIVER SIDE LOW-BEAM BULB. ALL BULBS I HAVE USED AS REPLACEMENTS HAVE BEEN OEM BRAND NAMES: EITHER SYLVANIA OR PHILIPS. HEADLIGHTS ARE CRITICAL FOR NIGHTTIME SAFETY. THE HEADLIGHT FAILURE PROBLEM ON 2005 HONDA CR-V VEHICLES IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. I HAVE NOW REPLACED BOTH THE HEADLIGHTS ENTIRELY WITH NEW PARTS. *TR

I BOUGHT THE CAR IN AUGUST 2004. AFTER A FEW MONTHS DROVE IT TO THE MOUNTAIN, PUT THE SNOW CHAIN AND THE CAR COULDN'T GO MORE THAN 10MPH, INSTEAD IT MAKE A LOUD ROARING NOISE. TOOK TO DEALER BUT COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CALL DIRECT TO HONDA THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING SINCE THE DEALER DIDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS. SINCE THAN WE DRIVE ANOTHER CAR WHENEVER WE WENT TO THE SNOW. LAST WEEKEND WE WENT TO PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAM AND THE CAR MAKE A LOUD NOISE THAT SOUND LIKE IT CAME FROM SOMEWHERE IN THE DRIVETRAIN PARTS. I THING THIS MUST HAVE RELATED TO THE SAME PROBLEM WEN I WENT TO THE SNOW. I CALL A FRIEND THAT HAS AN INDEPENDENT CAR REPAIR SHOP AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAD HAPPENED. HE ADVISED ME TO CALL HONDA BECAUSE THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE SINCE IT WAS NEW. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAID TO BRING TO A DIFFERENT DEALER THAN THE ONE THAT I WENT ON THE FIRST INCIDENT. I WENT TO A DEALER AND AGAIN COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, PAID $220 FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY PARTS OF THE DRIVETRAIN, I CHECKED ON THE WEBSITE AND FOUND ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEM POSTED ON THE CRV FORUM /BLOG. I WONDER IF NHTSA CAN HELP US TO COMPLAIN TO HONDA FOR RELATED PROBLEM AND HAVE THEM REPAIR THE CAR FREE OF CHARGE SINCE IT WAS DEFECTIVE. *KB
I BOUGHT A 2005 HONDA CRV 2-LX AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR. FROM DAY ONE, IT PULLED TO THE RIGHT. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR REALIGNMENT, TIRE ROTATION AND OTHER ADJUSTMENTS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT AT ALL. THE ALIGNMENT READ-OUTS ARE FINE. ON A FLAT SURFACE GOING 35-40 MPH, NOT HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL, THE VEHICLE CHANGES LANES WITHIN 4 SECONDS. HONDA SAYS 6 SECONDS IS ALLOWABLE. THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND I FEEL I'M DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION, BY REAR ENDING OTHER MOTORIST. UPON IMPACT, NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. NO LIVE THREATENING INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED DUE TO THE USE OF SEAT BELT, JUST MINOR INJURIES.*AK
I HAVE EXPERIENCED AT LEAST 5 FRONT WINDSHIELD CHIPS IN MY 05 HONDA CRV. I'VE ONLY OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 5 1/2 MONTHS. 2 OF THE 5 HAVE REQUIRED REPAIRS. I AM CERTAIN I WILL REQUIRE A COMPLETE NEW WINDSHIELD IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE SOUND OF IMPACT DOES NOT INDICATE THAT ANY DAMAGE SHOULD BE CAUSED, HOWEVER THE HONDA WINDSHIELD IS LIKE PAPER. I FEEL IT IS IN MY BEST INTEREST TO REPLACE MY CURRENT WINDSHIELD FOR FEAR OF FURTHER PROPERTY DAMAGE AND OR INJURY TO MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS. *AK
THIS NEW 05' HONDA CR-V EX HAS HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH NO RESOLVE FROM THE DEALER. IT HAS A CONTINUED PROBLEM OF PULLING TO THE RIGHT AS WELL AS VIBRATION AT HIGHER SPEEDS. ALSO, THE PASSENGER SIDE CV BOOT HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE AS WELL AS THE TRANSAXLE. THE VEHICLE CAME NEW WITH THESE PROBLEMS. THE DEALER HAS TRIED DILIGENTLY TO FIX THE PTTR PROBLEM WITH NEW TIRES, AXLE, ROTATION, ALIGNMENT, WHEELS FROM OTHER 05' CR-V'S. BUT, THEY HAVE SAID THE VIBRATION IS WITHIN MANUFACTURE'S SPECS!!!! I HAVE SPENT MORE TIME WITH MY CAR AT THE DEALER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN DECECMBER OF 2004 AND IT IS NOW APRIL 2005! THE VIBRATION COMES ABOUT THROUGHOUT THE CAB, ESPECIALLY THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL AT AROUND 50-70 MPH. I'M VERY UPSET THAT I PAY GOOD MONEY FOR A CAR THAT BRINGS ME GRIEF EACH AND EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR ON THE HI-WAY. AROUND TOWN IT'S FINE. SINCE '05 HONDA CRV WAS PURCHASED, (4 MONTHS AGO) VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. BESIDES BEING A ROAD HAZARD AT ALL SPEEDS, THE PULLING APPARENTLY RESULTS IN ALL TIRES BEING OUT OF ALIGNEMNT. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR THREE (3) TIMES WITHOUT ANY REPAIR THAT HELPED THE PROBLEM OF PULLING TO THE RIGHT. (VEHICLE WAS RE-ALIGNED ONCE.) HONDA MANUFACTURER TECHNICIAN STATED THAT ALL 2 WHEEL DRIVE AND FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES PULL TO THE RIGHT AT SPEEDS UNDER 30 MPH. ADDITIONALLY, TECHNICIAN STATED THAT HONDA DOES NOT HAVE ANY SPECIFICATION AS TO HOW MUCH A VEHICLE CAN PULL TO THE RIGHT AND THAT THIS IS NORMAL.*AK
I AM THE OWNER OF A 1996 HONDA ACCORD AND 20005 HONDA CRV. THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH BOTH VEHICLES WHICH WAS PURCHASED NEW IS THAT THE POWER LOCKS CLICKS UP AND DOWN FROM TIME TO TIME, EVEN AFTER LOCKING THE DOORS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDA VEHICLES, BUT MAY BE I AM THE FIRST TO MENTION IT. HOWEVER, WITH THE DOORS LOCKS, IT PUTS YOUR SAFETY AND SECURITY AT RISK AND THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION OF THIS MATTER.
