HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES AT LESS THAN 25K MILES. THE CAR WAS ALIGNED ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE HONDA CRV TIRES WERE CONTINENTAL 225-6557 4 X 4 CONTACT THESE TIRES SHOULD BE PERMITTED TO USED WITH A NEW PURCHASE VEHICLE.
HONDA CRV 2009 THE EXHAUST PIPE IS TOO CLOSE TO THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. THE HEAT FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE IS DAMAGING THE TIRE AND THE SMELL IS ENTERING THE CABIN. THERE IS A SMELL OF BURNING RUBBER WHEN PARKING CAR AFTER DRIVING. THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRE HAD PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE BELT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CONDITION CONTINUES ON THE NEW TIRE. SUGGEST WRAPPING THE EXHAUST PIPE WITH A LENGTH OF INSULATING TAPE TO PROTECT THE TIRE FROM HEAT DAMAGE. *TR
MY HONDA CR-V IS 2 YEARS OLD-LESS THAN 30,000 MILES WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY CONTINENTAL TIRES THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE. TIRES ARE CONTINENTAL 4X4 CONTACTS-SIZE225/65R17. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOLTS SECURING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER RUSTED AND FAILED. ALSO, THE SHIELD HOLDING THE CONVERTER AND BOLTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
MY HONDA CRV 2009 WITH 15,300 MILES BEGAN DEVELOPING A ROAR IN THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. I HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND THE ROAR MOVED TO LEFT FRONT. I TOLD THE DEALER IT SOUNDS LIKE A TREAD SEPARATING, AND HIS MECHANIC AGREED. WE WERE GOING ON A LONG TRIP AND (I WAS A MECHANIC FOR 40 YEARS) I DECIDED FOR SAFETY REASONS TO REPLACED ALL FOUR BRIDGESTONE DULLERS WITH GOODYEAR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE NYS THRUWAY SOUTHBOUND ON A CLEAR, DRY DAY, WE WERE ABOUT TO EXIT ONTO EXIT 13N WHEN A SPEEDING SEDAN CUT US OFF BEFORE WE COULD EXIT AND WE HAD TO STEER THE VEHICLE BACK ONTO THE THRUWAY. THE 2009 HONDA CR-V WENT OUT-OF-CONTROL AND WE WEAVED OVER 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND HIT THE CEMENT MEDIAN, BOUNCED OFF AND HIT IT AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER FRONT SAFETY BAGS PARTIALLY DEPLOYED AND SIDE BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE AMBULANCED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. I SUFFERED NUMEROUS BRUISING AND ABRASIONS TO THE CHEST. HE SUFFERED MASSIVE BRUISING AND 4 BROKEN RIBS. THERE IS DEFINITELY A STEERING ISSUE WITH THE 2009 HONDA CR-V AND SHOULD NOT BE RATED A SAFE VEHICLE. WE HAD PREVIOUSLY LEASED A 2006 AND HAD NO ISSUES WITH THAT MODEL.
I HAVE A SUNSHINE KIDS JUVENILE PRODUCTS BRAND RADIAN XTSL. THERE HAVE BEEN FOUR OCCURRENCES, INCLUDING TODAY SPECIFICALLY, THE LATCH CONNECTOR STRAPS HAVE LOOSENED ON THEIR OWN AFTER PROPER, CORRECT AND TIGHT INSTALLATION THROUGH NORMAL USE. THIS POSES A GREAT SAFETY HAZARD TO MY DAUGHTER AND THIS PRODUCT IS A DANGER WHEN USED WITH LATCH. THIS SEAT IS UNDER 1 YEAR OLD AND HAS BEEN IN USE FOR UNDER 1 YEAR, THE SEAT IS IN GOOD SHAPE, AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IS INSTALLED REAR FACING AND IS BEING USED WITH A CHILD THAT IS 30 LBS AND 37 INCHES TALL, WELL WITHIN GUIDELINES FOR USE OF LATCH AND FOR REAR FACING FOR THIS SEAT ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER. THERE IS NO REASON THE LATCH SHOULD BE LOOSENING ON ITS OWN WITH CAREFUL AND CORRECT USE AND INSTALLATION, AND IS HIGHLY CONCERNING THAT IT WOULD POSE THIS KIND OF DANGER. THE INFORMATION OFF OF OUR SEAT IS AS FOLLOWS: MODEL NUMBER: 19500, DATE OF MANUFACTURE: 12/2009, DATE OF PURCHASE: MARCH 2010. THE ACTIONS TAKEN TO CORRECT THE FAILURE HAVE BEEN TO RE-TIGHTEN THE STRAPS, HOWEVER THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARY SOLUTION, AS THE STRAPS ARE NOT CORRECTLY RETAINED IN A TIGHT OR LOCKED POSITION (AS SEEN BY THE SELF-LOOSENING ACTION). MY CONCERN IS THAT THE FORCE OF AN ACCIDENT WOULD CAUSE THE STRAPS TO LOOSEN MID-IMPACT ON THEIR OWN AND NOT RESTRAIN A CHILD. 2009 HONDA CR-V UNDER 20,000 MILES, TIRES ARE COMPLETELY WORN AND NEED REPLACEMENT. WIFE IS PRIMARY DRIVER AND HAD NO IDEA HOW BAD THEY WERE. NO INCIDENTS, JUST ANGER OVER WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. DEALER RECOMMENDED REPLACING WITH THE SAME TIRE. NATURALLY, MORE FRUSTRATION. *TR
I BOUGHT A NEW 2009 HONDA CR-V IN DEC 2008. AFTER AROUND 30K MILES OR SO, I NOTICED THE CAR PULLING TO THE LEFT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR AN ALIGNMENT AND TIRE ROTATION BUT NOTHING THEY DID FIXED THE ISSUE. I THEN BROUGHT IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP SINCE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY CONDUCTED THEIR OWN ALIGNMENT AND TIRE ROTATION (AT MY EXPENSE SINCE ALIGNMENTS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY). THIS STILL DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO. MY CAR STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS ISSUE MAY GET WORSE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
BOUGHT CRV-EX NEW FROM DEALER, AT AROUND 18,000 MILES, ALL FOUR TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED. A FRIEND TOLD ME THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH HER CRV. ALL THE CAR TIRES I HAVE OWNED IN THE PAST HAVE LASTED UNTIL AT LEAST 60,000 MILES. THIS IS A CHEAP TIRE HONDA APPEARENTLY PUTS ON ALL THEIR CRV'S. EVEN THE TECH AT BELLE TIRE TOLD ME THIS.
MY MOTHER WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE VSA LIGHT (TRIANGLE WITH EXCLAMATION POINT IN THE MIDDLE) CAME ON. SHE THEN STARTED TO HEAR A GRINDING NOISE FROM THE TIRES. THE LIGHT AND THE NOISE CAUSED HER TO REDUCE HER SPEED TO ABOUT 55. SHE DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES TO THE NEAREST PULL-OFF RAMP. SHE WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN, BUT AS SHE PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT, SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL FURTHER TO STOP THE CAR AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT GO DOWN AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. SUBSEQUENTLY, SHE ROLLED UP ON THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF THE PARKING SPACE AND HIT A LIGHT POLE, WHICH STOPPED THE VEHICLE. SHE DOES NOT NECESSARILY RECALL THE ENGINE REVVING OR ACCELERATING AS OTHER COMPLAINANTS HAVE REPORTED, BUT THE BRAKES CLEARLY DID NOT WORK AND THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOME UNDETECTED ACCELERATION AS THE CAR CLEARLY NEEDED ENOUGH SPEED TO GO OVER THE CURB. NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 3500 MILES. SHE HAS HAD NO PREVIOUS ISSUES WITH BRAKING. THE VEHICLE REQUIRES BODY WORK DUE TO THE COLLISION. HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT DETECTED NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. CLEARLY, THERE IS AN ISSUE AS A CURSORY SEARCH OF COMPLAINTS ON THE CR-V SHOW AT LEAST 2-3 COMPLAINTS PER YEAR ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH OTHER HONDA VEHICLES AS WELL. *TR
PURCHASED NEW HONDA 2009 CRV IN JULY 2009. ON MAY 2010 AT 15K MILES HAD TO REPLACE 2 REAR TIRES DUE TO PREMATURE WEAR (AT MY COST). WEAR WAS NOT DUE TO MY NEGLECT. DEALER TECH CLAIMED BAD TIRES. AGAIN ON AUGUST 2010 AT 20K MILES(ONLY 5K MILES ON NEW TIRE) HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF THE BRAND NEW TIRES!! . SERVICE TECH AT DEALER CONFIRMED THAT TIRE WAS BAD AND HAD CAUSED THE SHIMMYING AND VEERING TO THE RIGHT OF VEHICLE. TIRE REPLACED BY DEALER THESE TIRE WERE BRIDGESTONE DUELLERS. THIS PROBLEM HAS SIGNIFICANTLY BEEN NOTED BY OTHER CRV OWNERS AND CONFIRMED BY SEVERAL DEALERS. *TR
REAR BRAKE PADS COMPLETELY WORN OUT AT 18,000 MILES ON 2009 HONDA CRV. PADS WERE INSPECTED BY DEALER AT 15,000 MILES AND WERE FINE. PADS FAILED PREMATURE, NO WARNING, ALL HIGHWAY MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER SUDDENLY STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REFUSED TO HONOR HIS WARRANTY BECAUSE OF A ROAD HAZARD THAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT A ROCK PUNCTURED THE CONDENSER IN THE A/C SYSTEM WHICH CAUSED THE FREON TO LEAK OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
THE TIRES OF MY 2009 HONDA CRV WERE ALL REPLACED TODAY AFTER ONLY 16,000 MILES OR ABOUT 14 MONTHS OF USING THE CAR. THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT HELP ME TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD SOME CUSTOMERS COME TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAD LESS MILEAGE (LIKE 13K OR 14K). I THINK THERE IS WRONG IN THE DESIGNED OF THE CRV. MY PARTICULAR CRV, THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED @6,868 MILES OR ROUGHLY 5 MONTHS ON THE ROAD. *TR
WHILE STOPPING OR STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC LIGHT(S), WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, ENGINE REVVED UP TO 2K RPM WITHOUT ANY ACTION ON MY PART. WHEN LIGHT CHANGED, AND BRAKE WAS RELEASED, ACCELERATION AND CAR PERFORMANCE BECAME NORMAL AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE SEPARATE TIMES IN THE PAST SIX WEEKS. IN ADDITION, TURNING THE A/C OFF OR ON HAD NO EFFECT ON ENGINE RPM. NOTE: DURING THE ANOMALY, IF TRANSMISSION WAS MOVED FROM D TO N, ENGINE WOULD REV UP TO 5K RPM, AND WOULD DROP BACK TO 2K RPM WHEN TRANSMISSION PUT BACK INTO D ALL THIS HAPPENED WITH FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE. FOR THE RECORD: CAR WAS TAKEN TO HONDA DEALER TWICE FOR THIS ANOMALY, THE MEMORY DUMPED, AND NO DATA FOUND. HONDA CLAIMS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA C-RV. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK AT SPEEDS OF 2 MPH, THE VEHICLE HAD ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARRANT. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE ACCELERATION BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE AND INSTEAD, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 1,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AN UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL. THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH CAUTION. THE RPMS CONTINUED TO INCREASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,335.
MY WIFE DROVE A HONDA CRV 2009 WHICH WE PURCHASED LAST YEAR AND HAD A FRONT COLLISION WITH A TREE ON 2/19/1010. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS SERIOUSLY DAMAGED AND MY WIFE WAS SENT TO ER WITH REPORTED HEAD INJURY. BUT THE AIRBAG NEVER CAME OUT. WE BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT WHICH SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE INJURY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA CR-V. THAT CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SITTING IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE ENGINE OFF THE DOORS INDEPENDENTLY LOCKED. THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WAS NOT A FEATURE ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT BECAUSE THE BATTERY LIFE WAS LOW, IT WAS SENDING A FAULTY SIGNAL TO THE REMOTE CAUSING THE DOORS TO LOCK INDEPENDENTLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY AND WITHIN THREE MONTHS, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER SO THEY COULD DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE THE KEYS COULD BE LOCKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,913.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A OWNS A 2009 HONDA CR-V EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC TIRES, SIZE 225/65/R17. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT TWICE IN LESS THEN 20,000 MILES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS THE ONLY PLACE THAT HANDLED THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF THE TIRES BLEW OUT BECAUSE OF ROAD CONDITIONS OR AN UNIDENTIFIED FAILURE. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED AT 5,000 MILES AND THE SECOND FAILURE OCCURED AT 15,000 MILES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 90 MINUTES IN A SNOWSTORM. THE ROAD WAS SNOWPACKED BUT IT WAS DAYTIME AND VISIBILITY WAS ACCEPTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS HANDLING JUST FINE AS ONE WOULD EXPECT WHEN TAKING EXTRA CARE DUE TO INCLEMENT CONDITIONS. I FELT SAFE AND IN CONTROL AT ABOUT 45 TO 50 MPH. WHEN SUDDENLY THE CAR BEGAN FEELING STRANGE....LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HANDLING HAD GOTTEN LOOSE. IT FELT LIKE WE WERE SWAYING, AND LIKE WE WERE SLIPPING INTO RUTS, BUT THERE WERE NONE. ROAD CONDITIONS HAD NOT CHANGED. MY PASSENGER SAID THAT IT FELT LIKE SHE WAS IN A BOAT. I KEPT FIGHTING THE STEERING SO IT WOULDN'T CROSS INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. I SLOWED TO ABOUT 30. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD ONTO THE SHOULDER TO EXAMINE THE WHEELS, BUT FOUND NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. WE PRESSED ON AT SLOW SPEEDS AS OTHER VEHICLES BEGAN PASSING US. I PULLED OFF AGAIN AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THOUGHT ABOUT CALLING AAA, BUT WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE-OF-NOWHERE, ABOUT MIDWAY BETWEEN GUYMON, OK AND TUCUMCARI, NM. WE WERE DETERMINED TO GET TO TUCUMCARI WHERE WE COULD STOP AT A DEALER FOR SERVICE. THE OUT-OF-CONTROL, SWAYING SENSATION PERSISTED UNTIL WE DROVE THROUGH A SECTION OF HIGHWAY THAT MUST HAVE BEEN SALTED, BECAUSE IT WAS SLUSHY. AFTER A FEW MINUTES IN THAT SLUSHY CONDITION, THE CAR BEGAN STABILIZING, AND RESUMED NORMAL HANDLING. EVEN THOUGH WE ENCOUNTERED MORE SNOWPACKED STRETCHES, THE MALADY NEVER RETURNED. IT HAD BEEN A TERRIFYING COUPLE HOURS. WE TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALER IN MESA. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. RECENTLY THE DEALER HERE IN MINNESOTA FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE CAR EXAMINED IT AND FOUND NOTHING, ALTHOUGH THEY SUSPECTED AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. THEY SUGGESTED ADVISING YOU. WE HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM SINCE THAT ONE TIME. ON THE OTHER HAND, WE HAVE NOT DRIVEN THROUGH A SNOWSTORM SINCE THEN....AND, FRANKLY, WE WILL BE NERVOUS THE NEXT TIME WE DO ENCOUNTER SIMILAR SNOW CONDITIONS IF NOTHING IS RESOLVED ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. *TR
2009 HONDA CRV. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH VSA SYSTEM *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE SWITCH AND VSA MODULATOR. HOWEVER, THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE TYPE OF GAS THE CONSUMER WAS PUTTING IN THE VEHICLE. *JB THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER STATED THE VSA LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE WOULD LOOSE POWER AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD NOT RESPOND. ALSO, THERE WAS A VIBRATION COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AS WELL, AS THE FRONT TIRES. UPDATED 04/09/13 THE CONSUMER STATED THE FIRST REPAIR OCCURRED ON DECEMBER 16, 2009. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE SWITCH, AND THE BRAKE MODULATOR, THE VSA LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. AMERICAN HONDA'S RESPONSE WAS THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE VSA LIGHT ILLUMINATING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY. UPDATED 04/15/13
ICE BUILD UP ON THE WINDSHIELD OF THE PASSENGER SIDE OCCURS WHENEVER THERE IS SNOW OR FREEZING RAIN. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSTANT PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW. EVEN WITH THE DEFROSTER ON THE HIGHEST SETTING THIS OCCURS. I BOUGHT AN AWD VEHICLE AS I LIVE IN VERMONT SO EXPECTED A DEFROSTER THAT WOULD PERFORM UNDER FREEZING CONDITIONS. WHILE DRIVING ON SNOW OR ICE, THE ICE BUILD UP ON THE WINDSHIELD AFFECTS VISIBILITY SO GREATLY THAT I HAVE TO STOP DRIVING AND TRY TO BREAK UP ICE ON THE WINDSHIELD AND WIPERS. THIS IS NOT SAFE TO DO DURING BAD WEATHER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT MICE WERE ABLE TO GAIN ENTRY INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE HEATING SYSTEM AND BEGAN NESTING WITHIN THE HEATING SYSTEM AND THE GLOVE BOX. THE SPEED CHANGE IS FAST, IN A FEW SECONDS. FOR EXAMPLE, ON A FLAT HIGHWAY, SET THE CRUISE CONTROL AT SPEED OF 60 MILES PER HOUR. IF THAT UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION HAPPENS THE SPEED WOULD KEEP GOING UP TO 65, 70, EVEN MORE MILES PER HOUR IN A FEW SECONDS. CANCEL CRUISE CONTROL OR STEP ON BREAK WOULD STOP THE PROBLEM. BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2009 CR-V EX AND HAD ISSUES WITH TPMS LIGHT COMING ON RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HAD TPMS SENSORS REPLACED AND TPMS BOX. STILL THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AND BEEN USING MY CAR FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS NOW WAITING FOR HONDA TO FIX THE CAR. THERE WERE NO TSBS FOR IT AND NO FIX FOR IT. NEW 2009 HONDA CR-V, WITH LESS THAN 500 MILES I STARTED GETTING BAD VIBRATIONS AND CAR VEERING TO THE RIGHT AND THEN TO THE LEFT. HONDA OF OCALA TRIED TO BALANCE AND ALIGN THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE VIBRATION. FELT LIKE TIRES HAD A BALD SPOT. AFTER 3 TRIES, THEY DECIDED TO EXAMINE THE TIRES (BRIDGESTONE / DUELLER HT'S) AND FOUND THAT 2 OF THE TIRES HAD BELTS THAT SEPARATED. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURIES IF I HAD NOT PERSISTED. THEY REPLACED THE TIRES AND A RIM WITH SAME TIRES ONLY NEW ONES. A WEEK AND A HALF LATER, CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE VIBRATIONS AND THEY AGAIN THINK IT IS THE TIRES. CAR NOW HAS 2500 MILES AND IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN TODAY. COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH HONDA WHO JUST SAYS THE TIRES ARE NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, SOME WITH CRASHES AND SERIOUS INJURIES BECAUSE OF THESE TIRES. SOME HAVE REPORTED THAT THE SIDEWALLS EXPLODE. I SPENT HOURS E-MAILING AND TALKING ON THE PHONE, ASKING FOR A SOLUTION FOR THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM FROM BOTH THE DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA. A MAN THAT I SPOKE WITH AT AMERICAN HONDA TOLD ME THAT THE DESIGN OF THE '09 CRV IS THE SAME AS THE '07 CRV WHICH HE OWNS. HE STATED THAT HE HAD PARTIALLY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM BY ADDING SMALL ROUND CONCAVE MIRRORS LIKE THOSE USED FOR TRAILERS/RV'S, BUT DID NOT DOCUMENT THAT HE HAD SAID THIS. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT I OWN A NEW, BUT DAMAGED, VEHICLE THAT HAS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW WHICH CAUSES MAJOR BLIND ZONES. I FEAR THAT IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM ON ALL OF THESE CRV'S DRIVING AROUND, MORE PEOPLE WILL BE INJURED OR KILLED.
