HONDA CR-V 2017 BOUGHT DECEMBER 23, 2017 FROM ZIMBRICK AUTO MADISON, WISCONSIN JULY 15, 2018 THE CAR WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND WOULD NOT START. WE HAVE A TOWING COMPANY HAULED IN FOR REPAIR. NOW, ON OCCASION THE CAR CABIN SMELLS GASSY. THE OIL FILLER CAP WHEN REMOVED ALSO HAS A VERY STRONG GASSY SMELL.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2017 HONDA CR-V EX-L ON HIGHWAY (THE TRIP WAS ABOUT 10 HOURS), ABOUT HALF WAY OF MY TRIP, I COULD NOT REACH THE SPEED TO 55MPH WITH SPEED LIMIT OF 70MPH. MY ODOMETER WAS READING AROUND 30000MI. ABOUT TWO MONTHS LATER (JUST TWO WEEKS AGO) I TOOK ANOTHER 2 HOUR ONE WAY TRIP, SIMILAR THING HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN ON MY WAY BACK (I COULD ONLY DRIVE AT ABOUT 60MPH WITH SPEED LIMIT OF 70MPH). I RAISED THE ISSUE WITH LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I WILL SEE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO TELL ME ABOUT THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECKUP. IN ADDITION TO ABOVE POSSIBLE ENGINE/POWER/FUEL RELATED ISSUES, I HAD TWO INCIDENTS OF DEAD BATTERY WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING AFTER STOPPING MY CAR. ONE TIME (SUMMER 2018) I DROVE TO MY SON'S PRIVATE TEACHER'S HOUSE AND PARKED OUTSIDE. AFTER THE LESSON I COULDN'T START MY CAR. IT TOOK 4 HOURS FOR HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO COME AND FOUND OUT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. AFTER THE GENTLEMAN JUMP STARTED MY CAR IT WAS DRIVING FINE. IN SEPTEMBER 2018 I DID MY OIL CHANGE, THE DEALER'S EXAM SHOWED BATTERY LIFE GOOD. THEN JUST ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO IN OCTOBER 2018, MY CAR PARKED IN MY GARAGE AND IT COULDN'T START AGAIN. THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE FOUND OUT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND NO BATTERY LIFE. HONDA DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY FOR ME.
HONDA SENSING ACTIVATED AND SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES DURING REGULAR SUBURBAN DRIVING WITHOUT ANYTHING TO PROMPT IT. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40 MILES AN HOUR DOWN A LOCAL ROAD WITHOUT HAVING A CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE VEHICLE SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND SENT A WARNING AS IF SOMETHING WAS IMPEDING THE FRONT PATHWAY WHILE MOVING. THERE WERE NOT ANY CARS IN FRONT AND THE CAR SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES CAUSING MY BELT TO LOCK UNEXPECTEDLY AND VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN DRAMATICALLY LEADING TO ME ALMOST BEING REAR ENDED.
AUTO SHOWED TOO MUCH OIL ON DIPSTICK READING AND OIL HAD STRONG SMELL OF GAS. DEALER ONLY DRAINED EXCESS OIL AND SAID LIGHTS WILL COME ON IF REAL ISSUE. I SUSPECTED FUEL IN OIL SO HAD OIL TESTED AT NEXT OIL CHANGE. TEST SHOWED OIL IN CRITICAL STATE WITH OVER 5% FUEL IN OIL. DEALER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE ISSUE. WORRIES INCLUDE ENGINE FIRE, PREMATURE ENGINE WEAR AND DAMAGE. HONDA NEEDS TO ADMIT PROBLEM AND PRODUCE FIX. OIL ANALYSIS ATTACHED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, A LOUD POPPING SOUND WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF HAD EXPLODED AND SHATTERED INTO PIECES. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER (O'NEILL HONDA, 7979 METCALF AVENUE, OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS 66204) WAS CONTACTED AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND CASE NUMBER: 08822895 WAS OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
WE WERE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WHEN WE SUDDENLY HEARD A LARGE EXPLOSION. WE THOUGHT SOMETHING HAD HIT US. BY GOD'S GRACE, NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE NEAR US. AFTER WE RECOVERED FROM THE SHOCK WE REALIZED THAT A LARGE NOISE WAS COMING FROM ABOVE. IN FACT, THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. WHEN WE GOT OFF THE ROAD WE FOUND THAT 70% OF THE GLASS WAS GONE. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES NEAR US, AND CERTAINLY NOTHING ABOVE US.
IT WAS A RECORD HOT DAY, 100 DEGREES, AND MY CR-V WAS PARKED IN MY PAVED DRIVEWAY, IN THE SUN. I WAS WATERING MY OUTDOOR PLANTS (NOT WASHING MY CAR, OUR WELL WATER WOULD ONLY LEAVE WHITE SPOTS ON IT) AND WAVED THE HOSE OVER MY CAR AND "POP!"- THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CRACKED IN TWO DIFFERENT PLACES, BOTH ARE LARGE CRACKS, 10 AND 18 INCHES. THIS WAS DUE, I BELIEVE, TO THE COOL WATER ON THE HOT WINDSHIELD. I BELIEVE THE CAR IS NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS THE CRACKS ARE SO PROMINENT AND I QUESTION THE WINDSHIELD'S INTEGRITY.
THE CHROME/PLASTIC SELECTOR PART THAT ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TO BE SHIFTED TO AND FROM PARK AND THE OTHER AUTOMATIC GEARS IS A KNOWN FLAWED HONDA DESIGN. THE SHIFT SELECTOR BUTTON FAILED YESTERDAY ON OUR 2017 CRV. DUE TO THE DESIGN BEING SPRING LOADED, THE BROKEN PART FLEW OUT OF THE SHIFT SELECTOR AND WAS LOST TEMPORARILY. LACKING THIS BROKEN PART AND BEING UNABLE TO REINSERT IT PROPERLY INTO THE SELECTOR, THE VEHICLE CAN'T BE MOVED INTO PARK AND THUS BY HONDA DESIGN CAN'T BE TURNED OFF. THIS IS BOTH A FIRE AND SAFETY HAZARD THAT IS WELL KNOWN TO HONDA (THEY USED THE POOR DESIGN ON EARLIER ACCORD AND OTHER MODELS). WHEN SPEAKING WITH HONDA SERVICE AND PART DEPARTMENT AGENTS, THEY READILY ACKNOWLEDGE THE DESIGN FLAW, ARE DISAPPOINTED HONDA CONTINUED TO USE THE HAZARDOUS DESIGN (IT WAS A SAME PROBLEM IN EARLIER MODELS). HONDA'S RESPONSE SEEMS TO BE TO LET THE SELECTOR BUTTONS FAIL, KEEP A PLENTIFUL SUPPLY OF REPLACEMENTS ON HAND IN THEIR PARTS DEPARTMENTS AND LET THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABSORB THE RISKS. THIS PATTERN AND PRACTICE IS BOTH UNSAFE AND UNACCEPTABLE. HONDA NEEDS TO DESIGN A MORE ROBUST SELECTOR BUTTON AND REPLACE ALL CURRENT ONES VIA A RECALL.
COMPLETE VEHICLE SYSTEM PROBLEM MESSAGES. VEHICLE STABILITY, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, COLLISION MITIGATION, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION, ELECTRICAL PARKING BRAKE, EMISSIONS SYSTEM, BRAKE SYSTEM, BRAKE HOLD, POWER STEERING, HILL START ASSIST, TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR PROBLEM, POWER STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM. EVERY ONE OF THESE SYSTEMS IS DISPLAYING A 'PROBLEM' MESSAGE AS WELL AS BRAKE LIGHT IS FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT IS ON STEERING WHEEL LIGHT IS ON VEHICLE STABILITY LIGHT IS ON BATTERY LIGHT IS ON AND OIL LAMP IS ON. THIS IS ABOUT THE FIFTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY DISPLAY ALL THESE ERROR MESSAGES FOR NO APPARENT REASON. SOMETIMES THE ERROR MESSAGES WILL POP UP AS SOON AS YOU TURN THE CAR ON OTHER TIMES IT HAPPENS SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY STRAIGHT AWAY OR TURNING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, A SUDDEN LOUD BOOMING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE SUN ROOF SHATTERED. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE SUN ROOF WAS IN THE CLOSED POSITION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (RICK CASE HONDA, 15700 RICK CASE HONDA WAY, DAVIE, FL 33331), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
WHILE APPROACHING AND CROSSING OVER A RAILROAD CROSSING AT APPROXIMATELY 30MPH ON A CITY STREET, THE WORD BRAKE FLASHED A COUPLE TIMES AND MY CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED, SO HARD AS IF I SLAMMED MY BRAKES ON AND MY PURSE FLEW OFF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND I WAS JOLTED FORWARD, MY SEATBELT TIGHTENED. THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED ONE TIME SINCE THEN. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS A BRAKING PROBLEM OR FRONT CAMERA SENSORY PROBLEM BUT IT WAS VERY CONFUSING AND SCARY.
REMOVED DIPSTICK AND SMELLED GAS IN OIL. OIL WAS ALSO SO THIN I COULD NOT TAKE A READING. SAW ON VARIOUS WEBSITES OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING SOMETHING SIMILAR. CHECKED AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR 15 MINUTES.
GAS SMELL IN CABIN CHEMICAL SMELL IN CABIN GAS IN OIL CONCERNED OF ENGINE BREAK DOWN
COVER, ENGINE (LOWER) UNCLIPPED FROM THE FRONT AND BENT BACK DRAGGING UNDER MY CAR DRIVING 70MPH ON INTERSTATE. I WAS 1/3 OF THE WAY OF A 120 MILE TRIP. I PULLED OVER AFTER FEELING SOMETHING DRAGGING UNDER MY CAR. AT FIRST IT FELT LIKE A BLOWN TIRE. AFTER PULLING OVER I COULD SEE THE SHEET METAL DETACHED FROM THE FRONT (REAR BOLTS STILL HOLDING). I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE A GOOD SAMARITAN STOP AND PULL THE BOLTS HOLDING THE PART TO MY CAR WHICH ENABLED ME TO CONTINUE ON MY TRIP. WENT TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT MUST HAVE BEEN RELATED TO MY LAST OIL CHANGE THREE MONTHS AGO. HONDA AMERICA HASN'T OPENED A CASE AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS. A PART OF A CAR SHOULDN'T FALL OFF. THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND I AM UNSURE HOW I SAFELY CHANGED LANES AT SUCH A HIGH SPEED. I HAVEN'T REPLACED THE PART SINCE I DON'T WANT TO BE STRANDED AGAIN. I TRAVEL ON THIS INTERSTATE TRIP TWICE A WEEK FOR LAST THE 3 MONTHS. MY FRIEND WHO HAS THE SAME CAR BOUGHT AT THE SAME TIME JUST HAD THE PART DETACH FROM THE FRONT BUT IT DIDN'T PEEL BACK AND DRAG AS MINE DID. THIS OCCURRED ON A LONG ROAD TRIP. I WILL ENCOURAGE MY FRIEND TO REPORT HERE. I AM CONCERNED FOR OTHER'S SAFETY. I EXPECT BETTER FROM HONDA ENGINEERS.
I PARKED MY CAR AND TURNED IT OFF TO GO INTO A STORE. WHEN I CAME OUT I FOUND THAT MY CAR HAD ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO ANOTHER CAR. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO EITHER CAR, AS I ASSUME IT OCCURRED AT A VERY LOW SPEED. WHEN I RENETERED THE VEHICLE IT WAS STILL IN THE DRIVE GEAR, WHICH WAS MY ERROR. HOWEVER, I DON'T KNOW HOW THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE TURNED OFF COMPLETELY AND LOCKED WHILE NOT EVEN IN PARK OR EVEN NEUTRAL. MOREOVER THE CAR WAS IN THE DRIVE GEAR, WHICH I WOULD PRESUME WOULD MEAN IT WOULD GO FORWARD, BUT IT WAS STILL ABLE TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THIS IS INCREDIBLY CONCERNING. I CALLED HONDA AND WAS INFORMED THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND THE BEST THEY COULD DO WAS TO INFORM THEIR ENGINEERING TEAM FOR FUTURE MODELS. I HAVE HAD OTHER CARS AND WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION UNLESS THE CAR WAS IN PARK. HONDA SHOULD BE FORCED TO IMPLEMENT THIS AS WELL AS I CANNOT THINK OF ANY REASON TO KEEP YOUR CAR IN DRIVE WHILE THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY OFF.
HONDA CRV BRAKING SYSTEM FAILUREJUNE 2018 MODEL: CR-V YEAR: 2017 MILEAGE: 5,900 VIN: [XXX] ON JUNE 23RD, 2018, WHILE EXITING A FREEWAY AT ABOUT 60MPH, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND APPLIED NORMAL PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT NO BRAKING OCCURRED. I TRIED PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. I THEN USED GREATLY INCREASED PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT WITH NO DISCERNIBLE EFFECT. AFTER ABOUT EIGHT SECONDS OF CONTINUED EXTREME PEDAL PRESSURE, A YELLOW "BRAKING SYSTEM" WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY A RED "BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE APPEARANCE OF THE WARNING LIGHTS, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD, COMING FROM THE WHEELS, ACCOMPANIED BY A VIBRATION WHICH I INTERPRETED AS MODULATED BRAKING THAT COULD BE FELT THROUGH MECHANICAL FEEDBACK IN THE PEDAL. THE CAR CAME TO A STOP JUST IN TIME, BEHIND TRAFFIC THAT HAD BEEN WAITING AT A SIGNAL LIGHT. TEN SECONDS AFTER STANDING AT THE LIGHT, ALL WARNING LIGHTS EXTINGUISHED, AND THE BRAKES FUNCTIONED NORMALLY THEREAFTER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS, THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT HE WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM, HAD RECENTLY ENCOUNTERED AN IDENTICAL CASE OF BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE, BUT THAT HIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD BEEN UNABLE TO FIND THE FAULT OR ENACT REPAIRS. HE DECLINED TO EXAMINE MY VEHICLE ON THAT BASIS. SINCE THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER PROVIDED NO RESOLUTION, I UPDATED THE SOFTWARE IN MY OWN SCANNER, CONNECTED IT TO THE VEHICLE, AND FOUND THAT TWO ERROR CODES HAD BEEN RECORDED: 1) U0418-68/P ESB FAILURE EMINENT 2) U0416-68/P VSA SYSTEM MALFUNCTION DTC I AM CONTINUING TO PURSUE A REMEDY TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE THAT OCCURRED IN MY VEHICLE, SINCE IT REPRESENTS AN ONGOING AND UNREASONABLE RISK. AS I OPENED MY DRIVER'S DOOR OF VEHICLE, WHICH WAS BACKED IN MY DRIVEWAY SINCE YESTERDAY, IT STARTED TO RAIN AND MY REAR HATCH-BACK WINDOW EXPLODED.THE ENTIRE WINDOW WAS BLOWN OUT.
DURING MORNING COMMUTE 0655 HOURS DURING HEAVY DOWNPOUR ALL INSTRUMENT DASH LIGHTS STOPPED ILLUMINATION, I TURNED OFF DEFROSTER, RADIO AND WIPERS. I PULLED OFF EXPRESSWAY CAREFULLY AND AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS RE ILLUMINATED. AT WORK I NOTIFIED HONDA DEALER OF INCIDENT. A SERVICE APPT. WAS MADE. SAFETY HAZARD
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - BUTTON ON GEAR SHIFT BROKE AND SINCE IT HAS A SPRING - THE BUTTON CAN COME OUT OF THE GEAR SHIFT. IF THIS OCCURS, THE GEAR SHIFT CAN NO LONGER BE USED UNTIL THE BUTTON IS FOUND ARE REINSERTED. THIS COULD RESULT IN NUMEROUS DANGEROUS SITUATION.
I'VE GOT 21000 MILES ON THIS CAR WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW. IT'S BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST FOUR TIMES FOR THE FOLLOWING: ALL WARNING LIGHTS COME ON THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I COULDN'T RELEASE THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE. I WAS TOLD OIL WAS MIXING WITH GAS AND THAT HONDA HAS A FIX 'COMING SOON' I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY EACH TIME
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK RELEASE BUTTON BROKE (HONDA PART NO. 54132-TLA-A62ZB) THEREBY MAKING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INOPERABLE INCLUDING THE ABILITY TO PLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK POSITION. ALL I DID WAS TO TRY TO PLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND, WHEN I DEPRESSED THE RELEASE BUTTON ON THE STALK, IT FELL ABART. I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE AT THAT POINT.
SUNROOF EXPLOSION: NEW HONDA CR-V WITH ONLY 4,420 MILES. THE SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STATE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH. NO CARS OR TRUCKS WERE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME AND NO ROCKS OR DEBRIS WERE FOUND BY THE SERVICE REPAIR IN REMAINING SHATTERED GLASS. LUCKILY I DID NOT HAVE THE SUNROOF OPEN SO THE GLASS PARTICLES DID NOT FLY INTO THE PASSENGER AREA, BUT CARS BEHIND ME SLOWED AS SOME GLASS PARTICLES FLEW FROM THE ROOF. HONDA REPLACED THE SUNROOF UNDER WARRANTEE BUT EXPLODING SUNROOFS ARE DISORIENTING TO THE DRIVER AND NOT SAFE TO PASSENGERS OR OTHER CAR DRIVERS WHO CATCH THE FLYING GLASS PARTICLES.
STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN ENGINE OIL . OIL LEVEL RISES OVER FULL MARK ON OIL DIPSTICK SOMETIMES STRONG SMELL OF GAS IN AND AROUND CAR WHEN PARKED .
GASOLINE GETTING INTO THE OIL. DIPSTICK READ IN BETWEEN "THE LINES" ON LEVEL GROUND. DROVE 1500 MILES (APPROX.) DURING A VACATION. CHECKED OIL AT OUR DESTINATION, ON LEVEL GROUND, AND THE OIL LEVEL WAS 1/4" TO 3/8" ABOVE THE FULL LINE ON THE DIPSTICK AND SMELLED OF GASOLINE. I CALLED HONDA AND RECEIVED A CASE NUMBER 08740888. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD HONDA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. ALSO THERE IS A RECALL IN CHINA FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM. THE DEALER DID CHANGE THE OIL.
CMBS or forward collision warning system misinterpreted several times. Car stopped suddenly for no reason while driving. Nothing was in front of side of the car! It’s really dangerous to drive in this vehicle, that’s why I always turn off my CMBS feature while driving.
MY CAR AUTOMATICALLY BRAKED WHEN I APPROACHED A METAL PLATE IN THE ROAD. I WAS NOT DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED AND WOULD HAVE EASILY GONE OVER THE PLATE. I WAS ON A TOWN STREET, GOING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 20 MPH. IF SOMEONE WAS BEHIND ME, THEY WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO ME. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THE BRAKING.
AFTER STARTING UP THE CRV IN THE GARAGE, I EXITED IT AND CLIMBED A SHORT ~100' RAMP ABOUT THE HEIGHT OF 1 STORY AT 10 MPH OR LESS. DURING AT LEAST TWO TIMES IN THE PAST 7 MONTHS, THE ENGINE SPUTTERED WHILE CLIMBING THIS RAMP AND NEARED A STALL POINT. THIS OCCURRED WHILE IN MONTANA. I BOUGHT THIS HONDA CRV 2017 AWD ON 04/01/2017 FROM HONDA FOLSOM. ON APRIL 24,2018, IT WOULD NOT START. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO JUMPSTART IT AND BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALER IN FOLSOM. THEY CHANGED THE BATTERY ON APRIL 24, 2018. TODAY, MAY 30, 2018, IT DID NOT START AGAIN SO IT WAS JUMPSTARTED AGAIN AND BROUGHT THIS TO HONDA ROSEVILLE. THEY CHANGED AGAIN THE BATTERY. THEY SAID ALL THE ELECTRICAL ARE GOOD AND NO EXPLANATION GIVEN WHY THE BATTERY DON'T LAST. THESE 2 SITUATIONS, LUCKILY, HAPPENED IN MY GARAGE. WE DID NOT HAVE ANY SITUATION THAT COULD DISCHARGE THE BATTERY.
HIGH OIL LEVEL DUE TO GAS IN THE OIL. HAVE ALREADY HAD 2 OIL CHANGES AND ONLY HAVE JUST OVER 4,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. HONDA STATES THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE IN COLD WEATHER, BUT IT STILL HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING IN THE SUMMER.
I have experienced automatic emergency braking of my vehicle at various times for no reason ~ I was not approaching another car or in congested traffic. Fortunately, in every instance, there has not been another vehicle immediately behind me. I have communicated this problem verbally to the Honda dealer and was advised all systems appear to be functioning correctly. The most severe instance was when I was going over a metal plate placed over the roadway during street repair. At other times, it will happen when approaching one particular intersection in my city. In any event, something in the automatic braking system is flawed. Good idea but there are dangerous "bugs" that need to be worked out.

THERE IS CERTAINLY AN EXCESS AMOUNT OF GAS MIXED IN ENGINE OIL. ONLY FEW WEEKS AFTER OIL CHANGE, THE OIL LEVEL IS ALREADY 20 MM ABOVE THE MAX LINE. IT'S CERTAINLY A DESIGN FLAW AND I THINK HONDA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MISTAKE AND THE CUSTOMERS. I AM SURE IT WAS NOT LOW GAS, AND EVEN IF IT WAS LOW GAS, CAR WARNING SHOULD TELL ITS NOT STARTING DUE TO LOW GAS. IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT ALL 15 ERRORS START SHOWING ON DASHBOARD.
I HEARD THAT THERE IS OIL LEVEL INCREASE PROBLEM ON THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR'S ENGINE BECAUSE OF FUEL LEAK, SO I CHECKED THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL A FEW HUNDRED MILES AFTER CHANGING THE OIL AND FOUND THAT THE OIL LEVEL IS MUCH HIGHER THAN THE MAXIMUM MARK ON THE DIPSTICK. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO DEALER PREVIOUSLY, COMPLAINING OF A SMELL OF GAS IN THE OIL WHEN I CHECKED IT INITIALLY, AND THEY SAID IT IS FINE, THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. BOTH TIMES OF CHECKING THE OIL, THE CAR WAS IN MY GARAGE, STATIONARY, ON LEVEL GROUND.

I GOT ENGIN LIGHTS ON MY CAR AND WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE CAR. THE DEALER JUST IGNORE THE PROBLEM AND REMOVE THE LIGHTS FROM THE THE DASH. I WENT TO DEALERSHIP 1 SEVERAL TIMES FOR THAT PROBLEM AND EVRY TIME HE DID THE SAME THING. THAT TIME I HAD THE WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE BUT AS SOO AS I WENT OVER WITH THE WARRANTY, THEY WANT TO FIX IT. THEY GAVE ESTIMATED OF $1200-1500. THEY SAID I HAVE TO CHANGE RADAR SENSOR. THEN I WENT TO THE SECOND DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY THING (4 CLYENDER NEEDED TO CHANGE). THEN I WENT TO THE THIRD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY CAR FUEL SYSTEM HAS SOME PROBLEMS. THEN I WENT TO THE OUT SIDE SHOP THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT YOUR CAR HAS MANUFACTURE PROBLEM. NOW MY VEHICLE HAS ENGINE LIGHT AND GAS MILEAGE WENT DOWN.
MY NEW 2017 HONDA CRV EX THAT ONLY HAS 6850 MILES DRIVEN ON IT HAS A TERRIBLE DEFECT WITH OIL DILUTION ISSUES DUE TO FUEL LEAKING INTO THE OIL PANS CAUSING OVERFLOW AND DILUTION TO THE OIL THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE LUBRICATING THE ENGINE. THE OIL SMELLS VERY POTENT OF FUEL AND ALMOST 1 QUART OF EXTRA FLUID WAS DRAINED FROM THE OIL PAN WHEN TAKEN INTO THE DEALER AFTER REPORTING THE ISSUE. THE DEALER AGREED THAT THERE WAS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH FUEL DILUTING INTO THE OIL BUT WERE TOLD BY THE HONDA CORPORATE TECH LINE THAT THEY WERE TO JUST REPLACE THE OIL UNTIL A FIX COMES OUT. THE DEALER TECHNICIANS ASKED ABOUT CHANGING THE FUEL INJECTORS OR MAYBE A CYLINDER HEAD REPLACEMENT BUT WERE TOLD NOT TO DO ANYTHING. IT IS NOT SAFE TO RELEASE THESE CARS BACK TO THE OWNER KNOWING THERE IS AN DEFECT ISSUE THAT THEY DIDN'T EVEN REALLY ATTEMPT TO FIX THAT IS CAUSING INTERNAL ENGINE PARTS TO BREAK DOWN FASTER THAN NORMAL AND COULD CAUSE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS DUE TO EVENTUAL BREAKDOWNS LEADING TO WRECKS. THE COMPANIES "FIX" IS TO GO IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 500-1000 MILES EVEN THOUGH EXCESSIVE FUEL IS STILL MIXING WITH THE OIL. HONDA HAS REPORTED THAT THIS IS HAPPENING IN COLDER CLIMATES, BUT I AM STILL HAVING MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS IN TENNESSEE WEATHER.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. I OPENED THE TAILGATE TO STORE MY GOODS. I BEGAN TO CLOSE THE TAILGATE. THE TAILGATE WAS BEING CLOSED BY THE REAR SWITCH AND THE LEFT EDGE HIT MY HEAD. A FRIEND OF MINE WHO PREVIOUSLY WORKED AT HONDA SAYS THAT THE PROBLEM OF FUEL MIXING WITH OIL STEMS FROM ONE OR TWO CAUSES: IMPROPERLY DESIGNED FUEL INJECTORS THAT SPRAY FUEL DIRECTLY ONTO THE CYLINDER WALLS OR THE ENGINE NOT HEATING UP ENOUGH TO VAPORIZE GASOLINE LEFT OVER IN AN ENGINE CYLINDER. EITHER COULD CAUSE FUEL TO MIX WITH THE OIL, DILUTING IT AND MAKING IT LESS EFFECTIVE AT PROTECTING AN ENGINE'S MOVING PARTS AND OVER TIME COULD SERIOUSLY DAMAGE THE ENGINE. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO THE LUBRICATION FUEL & OIL DILUTION. HONDA CORPORATION HAD KNOWLEDGE OF THE TURBO ENGINE DEFECTS THAT CAUSE FUEL TO ENTER THE ENGINE OIL, DAMAGING THE BEARINGS, ENGINE PERMANENTLY AND DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS ETHICAL AT ALL FOR HONDA CORP. TO CONTINUE TO SELL 2017 & 2018 CRV WITH TURBO ENGINE TO THE CONSUMER KNOWING THE PROBLEMS COULD ENDANGER THE PUBLIC SAFETY. IT IS NEITHER SAFE NOR PRUDENT DRIVING THESE VEHICLES.
