ON 9/23/19 PARKED THE VEHICLE. SHUT OFF VEHICLE WHILE STILL IN DRIVE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT ALERT ME THAT THE CAR WAS NOT IN PARK. GOT OUT OF CAR AND DOOR LOCKED LIKE EVERYTHING WAS OKAY - NO OTHER BEEPS OR NOTIFICATIONS. VEHICLE ROLLED OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND HIT A TREE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT REAR DAMAGE (THANKFULLY DID NOT HIT ANY OTHER VEHICLE OR PEDESTRIAN). BROUGHT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING ALTHOUGH I EXPLAINED THAT THE WARNING INDICATORS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. FINALLY ON 10/2/19 I VIDEOTAPED AN INCIDENT WHERE IT DID NOT ALERT ME IN ANYWAY WHEN I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND LEFT IN THE DRIVE GEAR (IMAGES FROM VIDEO ATTACHED). HONDA STATES EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE SHOULD ALWAYS BE ENGAGED; HOWEVER, THIS DOES NOT FIX THE FACT THAT THE SAFETY NOTIFICATIONS ARE NOT WORKING AS EXPECTED. DEFINITELY A VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUE.
DRIVING IN TOWN GOING TO STORE SMELLED SOMETHING LIKE DEAD ANIMAL OR SOME HAIR BURNING HORRIBLE SMELL ALMOST GOT SICK AND OR PASSED OUT. NEXT COUPLE OF TIMES I DROVE IT THE SMELL GOT BETTER BUT I TOLD MY SON. I COULDN'T DRIVE IT ANYMORE CAUSE I WAS GETTING SICK. THEN THE SMELL WENT AWAY AND OIL LIGHT CAME ON SAYING I HAD 15% OIL LIFE LEFT. ME AND MY SON SMELLED OIL STICK AND IT SMELLED LIKE GASOLINE. TIRES WERE WORN ON THE INSIDE ON ALL FOUR AT 11,940. MILES. I HAD TO PAY MY OWN MONEY TO BALANCE THEM AGAIN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 60-65 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED AND THE BRAKES ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING THE CRUISE CONTROL BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE SPEED DECREASED. THE ADAPTED CRUISE CONTROL AND COLLISION WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRESTON HONDA 3249 WILMINGTON RD, NEW CASTLE, PA 16105 (724) 498-4944 WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A RADAR OBSTRUCTION AND SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT PROVIDED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
The visor on the driver's side does not go all the up or down. This puts the driver and passengers at risk for an accident, especially if driving into the sun by limiting needed visibility for the driver. The visor was brought to the dealer's attention.. He said I would be responsible for the cost of a new visor and installation. I was told upon buying the car that it was tight because it was new and would "work itself out." It never has become better., only looser.
I WAS TRAVELLING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH ON LOCAL HIGHWAY. NO CARS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME FOR A 1/4 MILE. IT HAD RAINED OVERNIGHT AND THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE SLIGHTLY DAMP BUT NO PUDDLES. I WAS CROSSING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND THE CAR'S 'BRAKE' ALARM (FORWARD COLLISION SYSTEM) FALSELY TRIGGERED ON THE DASHBOARD AND INSTANTLY SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES AND BROUGHT MY 2018 CRV TO A DEAD STOP. MY CARGO WENT FLYING FORWARD AND MY HEAD JERKED FORWARD HARD. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT. NO CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY BEHIND ME OTHERWISE THEY WOULD HAVE FOR SURE CRASHED INTO MY CAR. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN THAT AFTERNOON. THEY SAID THEY WOULD RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON IT. THEY CALLED ME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THAT THERE "WERE NO TROUBLE CODES STORED IN THE VEHICLE". THEY SAID THEY "CONTACTED HONDA AND THERE WERE 'NO KNOWN ISSUES' AND THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO FOR ME". THEY SUGGESTED I TURN OFF THE FORWARD COLLISION SYSTEM IF I WAS CONCERNED. THIS IS CRAZY AND HAZARDOUS. THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT PUT ME (AND OTHERS) IN DANGER LIKE THIS. THANK GOD MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. I PRAY THEY AREN'T WHEN THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME SORT OF RECALL OR WARNING REGARDING THIS.
Reporting an old incident as it matches an issue with the current open investigation on the Emergency Collision Brake system in the Honda CR-V line. Was driving down the highway unobstructed, no vehicles in front of me but had vehicles a fair distance behind me. Emergency forward collision system engaged with no warning, with zero obstructions, and stopped my vehicle on a dime. Had the cars behind me been closer, there would have been a collision into the back of my vehicle. Vehicle was inspected by a local Honda dealership and a cause was not found, but brake booster was replaced as a precaution under warranty.
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON I-90 IN MASSACHUSETTS IN THE TRAVEL LANE AT BETWEEN 65-68 MPH. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ENGAGED; THE LANE KEEPING ASSIST FEATURE WAS NOT ACTIVE. IT WAS AROUND 7:00 PM. NO CARS IN THE PASSING LANE. A TRACTOR TRAILER WAS ABOUT 200-300 FEET IN FRONT. THE DASHBOARD CHIMED AND DISPLAYED THE FOLLOWING THREE WARNING MESSAGES: COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, AND LANE KEEPING ASSIST SYSTEM. THE FIRST TIME EACH MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED A CHIME SOUNDED; THE MESSAGES CONTINUED TO ROTATE THROUGH THE DISPLAY FOR THE NEXT THIRTY MINUTES. THE MESSAGES STOPPED WHEN WE GOT HOME AND PUT THE CAR IN THE GARAGE IN PARK. ADDITIONALLY, THE LIGHT FOR 'BRAKE SYSTEM' (NEAR THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE) CAME ON. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN TODAY FOR SERVICE (IT JUST HAPPENED THAT IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR AN OIL CHANGE); I TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED; THE TECHNICIAN WORKING ON THE VEHICLE SAID NO CODES WERE BEING DISPLAYED. HE TOOK IT FOR A RIDE BUT COULD NOT GET THE MESSAGES TO COME UP (IT ONLY HAPPENED ONE TIME). THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID IT WAS PROBABLY 'JUST A GLITCH'.

THE CONTACT CALLED BUERKLE HONDA (3360 HEY 61 N VADNAIS HEIGHTS, MN 55110, (651) 490-6600) WHERE AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,500.
WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD, I WENT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH NO CARS IN FRONT OR TO THE SIDE OF ME, BUT 2 CARS CLOSE BEHIND ME. WHEN I WENT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, MY BRAKE LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING AND THEN MY CAR STOPPED ITSELF ON IMPACT. THE 2 CARS BEHIND ME SWERVED AROUND ME ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES THAT SHOULD HAVE SET OFF THE AUTOMATIC BREAKING AND THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE FINE.
MY 2018 HONDA CR V HAS THE 1.5 LITRE TURBO ENGINE. I HAVE REVIEWED SEVERAL HUNDRED COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN FILED REGARDING THE MIXING OF THE FUEL/GAS WITH THE ENGINE OIL. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE MORE PREVALENT IN THE NORTH, HOWEVER, I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE HERE IN OKLAHOMA. UPON ENGINE START THERE IS A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SEATING. I HAVE ALSO NOTED INCREASE OIL LEVELS IN THE ENGINE CRANKCASE. ALSO THE SMELL OF GASOLINE COMING FROM THE OIL DIPSTICK. I AM WRITING TO INQUIRE IF HONDA MOTOR COMPANY INTENDS TO DO SOMETHING TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE. THE SMELL STARTS AT THE MOMENT THE ENGINE IS STARTED.. THE CAR CAN BE STATIONARY AND I CAN STILL NOTICE THE SMELL OF FUEL. PROLONGED EXPOSURE OF FUEL IN THE CRANKCASE WILL CERTAINLY REDUCE THE LIFE OF THESE ENGINES. PLEASE ADVISE ME AS TO HOW I CAN RESOLVE THIS MATTER WITH HONDA? THANK YOU.
TRAVELING 45 MPH ON SECONDARY ROAD AND CAR SUDDENLY HIT BRAKE MODE FOR NO REASON. NO OTHER TRAFFIC ON ROAD. VEHICLE SKIDDED AND THREW EVERYTHING IN VEHICLE TO FLOOR INCLUDING PET. WHIPPED NECK VERY HARD.
ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2019, I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION GOING 25 MPH. I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP AT THE LIGHT, AND THE CAR KEPT MOVING. WE COLLIDED WITH A CAR COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, THAT WAS TURNING LEFT. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. WE ENDED UP DRIVING OVER A SIDEWALK, INTO A PARKING LOT. THE CAR ONLY STOPPED WHEN I TURNED IT OFF.
I BOUGHT A HONDA CR-V 2018 LAST YEAR IN MAY. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAVE 8000 MILES ON IT. NOW I RECENTLY NOTICE THAT WHEN I AM STARTING THE CAR WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE AND PRESSING THE START BUTTON. IT WILL TRY TO START BUT FAILS. IT SEEMS YOU NEED TO DO THIS NUMEROUS TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE. THIS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING TO ME IN THE LAST 3 DAYS. I CALLED THE HONDA DEALER ABOUT IT AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEM TOMORROW.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at 20-25 MPH, the brakes applied inadvertently. The contact stated that the vehicle stopped and the steering wheel locked temporarily. The contact did not recall whether there was a warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that it was a normal activation of the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) due to something in the road; however, the contact stated that there was nothing around the vehicle at the time the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) being activated. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer - Honda Of Princeton (987 US-206, Princeton, NJ 08540) who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to page 24 of the vehicle manual for information on how to deactivate the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) as necessary. The failure mileage was approximately 18150. The first incident happened on 9/24/19. There was a second incident date right around 3/16/20. Again, there was nothing in the road that would account for the braking system to be activated. Consumer reported this to Honda of Princeton took the car in for regular maintenance the following month (May 2020 )– they were unable to duplicate the failure.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at unknown speeds in the hot weather, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact stated that the vehicle was drivable however, the contact had to drive slowly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (STEERING); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,600.
2018 HONDA CRV WAS SUDDENLY FLASHED 'BRAKE MESSAGE' ON DASH AND BRAKE APPLIED BY THEMSELF WITH MY FOOT ON ACCELERATION PEDAL DURING ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR DRIVING ON FREEWAY, THERE WAS NO CARS IN FRONT OF THIS VEHICLE. I DROPPED THIS CAR TO HONDA DEALER ON SAME DAY THIS MALFUNCTION HAPPENED (SEP. 13, 2019), AND PICKED UP SEP 16, 2019. THEY FOUND ERROR CODE, CHECKED BATTERY, HARD RESET THE ASSOCIATED SYSTEM.
OIL DILUTION BAD GAS SMELL FROM OIL CAN CAUSE A FIRE CAR ONLY HAS 3750 MILES
GAS LEAKS INTO THE ENGINE WHILE I'M DRIVING, WHICH WILL INEVITABLY ENGINE FAILURE AND THE CAR WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING, THIS POSES A RISK FOR MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION.. THE HONDA DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IS AWARE OF THIS AND RECOMMENDED AN OIL CHANGE. 48 HOURS LATER MY OIL IS COMPLETELY DILUTED WITH GASOLINE AGAIN. THERE IS A STRONG GAS ODOR IN THE CABIN OF MY CAR WHICH IS A HEALTH HAZARD TO MYSELF AND MY 2 SMALL CHILDREN, ONE WITH ASTHMA. I'VE CONTACTED HONDA OF AMERICA SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH NO SOLUTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH A CRASH MITIGATION SYSTEM. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE APPROACHED TWO STEEL PLATES IN THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STARTED TO BRAKE NEAR A CONSTRUCTION ZONE; HOWEVER, THE CRASH MITIGATION SYSTEM SUDDENLY STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE ALMOST CAUSED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE TO BE REAR ENDED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW SINCE THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED WITH HIS SON WHO HAD THE SAME MODEL VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,700.
MY RECENT ENCOUNTER WAS ON A TWO LANE ROAD TRAVELING AT 40 MPH. NO CARS WERE IN FRONT OF ME AND A CAR WAS ABOUT 2 CAR LENGTHS BEHIND ME. A MINI SCHOOL BUS WAS HEADING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION ABOUT 2 CAR LENGTHS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD MY TWO GRANDCHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR BREAKED HARD SENDING ALL MY THINGS ON THE FLOOR AND SCARRING MY GRANDDAUGHTERS. I WAS SHAKEN MYSELF BEING NEARLY REAR ENDED BY THE CAR BEHIND ME. I TOOK IT IN TO ATLANTIC HONDA, AND WAS TOLD ' NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND ON THE COMPUTER AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE'. 'NEVER HAD ANYONE COMPLAIN OF THIS'. I ALSO ADVISED THEM, THE BREAK LIGHT FLASHES 'OUT OF THE BLUE' WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND. I WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I FEEL ON EDGE DRIVING THE CAR NOT KNOWING IF IT WILL BREAK UNEXPECTEDLY!
GASOLINE IS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE OIL. A WARRANTY REPAIR WAS DONE JAN 2019 TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT IN SEPT 2019 THE ENGINE OIL WAS NOTED TO BE ABOVE FULL AND SMELL OF GASOLINE. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN FOR FURTHER REPAIR BUT NO FURTHER REPAIR IS AVAILABLE AND BECAUSE HONDA CLAIMS THIS TO BE "A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE CAR, NO OIL CHANGE WAS DONE EITHER. HOWEVER, THE HONDA 2018 CR-V MANUAL CLEARLY POINTS OUT THAT OVER FILLING THE OIL MAY LEAD TO LEAKS OR ENGINE DAMAGE. COPIES OF THE REPAIR RECEIPT AND HONDA OIL OVERFILL WARNING ARE ATTACHED.
SAFETY LATCH OF THE HOOD FAILED AND THE HOOD CAME UP WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED WHILE ACCELERATING AND REACHING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. THANKS TO LOW SPEED AND NO TRAFFIC I COULD MANAGE TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITHOUT FATAL CONSEQUENCES. I HAVE GONE TO REVISION IN THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA, THEY ARGUED THE VEHICLE PASSED THE MECHANICAL TEST AND THEY REFUSED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE UNSAFE, POOR DESIGN OF THE LATCHING SYSTEM. IT WORTH TO MENTION THAT: 1- THIS VEHICLE HAS THE HOOD RELEASE INSIDE, ACCESSIBLE FOR EXAMPLE TO KIDS, BUT THERE IS NO WARNING INDICATOR AT ALL WHEN THE SAFETY LATCH IS ACTIVATED, OR THE HOOD IS NOT FULLY CLOSED. 2- THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE DASHBOARD LIGHT WARNINGS SIMILAR TO THE ALERT FOR LATERAL DOORS OR REAR DOOR AJAR, EVEN THOUGH THE LATTER CAN BE SIGNIFICANTLY LESS DANGEROUS THAN A HOOD OPENING INCIDENT. 3- THE HOOD SAFETY LATCH CLEARLY FUNCTIONS PROPERLY WHEN LIFTED UP UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE CAR STOPPED. HOWEVER, THE SAFETY LATCH FAILS DUE TO CONTINUOUS CHANGES IN THE DIRECTION AND MAGNITUDE OF THE RESULTANT FORCES DUE TO VIBRATIONS, WIND LOAD, ETC. THIS LATCH CANNOT BE CONSIDERED A 'SAFETY' DEVICE, IF IT DOESN'T NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY UNDER ALL REASONABLE CONDITIONS. 4- THIS 2018 YEAR VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW BY THE CURRENT OWNER, AND ALL MAINTENANCE CARE IS UPDATED AND ALWAYS COMPLETED BY OFFICIAL (I.E. LICENSED) HONDA SERVICE CENTERS.
2018 HONDA CRV EX: MILEAGE 20,165. UPON ACCELERATING WHILE PULLING THE CAR ON MAIN ROADWAY, THE CAR DROPPED FROM 50MPH TO 25MPH AND THEN WOULDN'T REACH PAST 35MPH, THE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND STARTED TO BLINK. PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL ONLY AGGRAVATED THE SITUATION. ABOUT A MILE LATER THE CAR STOPPED/STALLED TRYING TO GO UP A HILL. I TURNED OFF CAR, WAITED 10 MIN AND RESTARTED. WAS ABLE TO GO ANOTHER 1 MILE TO HOME, I DID NOT ATTEMPT TO GO OVER 25 MPH, BECAUSE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL BLINKING. THE NEXT MORNING, I DROVE THE CAR TO THE DEALER, BUT MADE SURE I DID NOT GO OVER 30MPH, AS I DID NOT WANT IT TO STALL. DURING THE DRIVE THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL BLINKING. WAITING TO HEAR BACK.FROM THE DEALER. I BELIEVE THIS IS A POWERTRAIN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY HONDA AND ALL 2017/2018 CRVS HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN CHINA AND EUROPE, BUT NOT THE US.
ALL ELECTRONICS STARTED TO FAIL, STEERING JAMMED, LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. SERVICE CENTER DIAGNOSED PROBLEM TO BROKEN POWER STEERING MOTOR. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ENTERING A HIGHWAY. AUG 24TH 2019. ELECTRONIC BRAKE FAILURE AND CAR WOULDN'T START - SEP 11, 2019.
GAS WAS FOUND IN THE OIL. NOTICED AT 7,000 MILES AND AT 10,000 MILE OIL CHANGE
I CONTINUE TO GET RANDOM "LANE DEPARTURE" WHEN DRIVING DOWN A NORMAL ROAD. HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY CAN NOT REPEAT THE PROBLEM. TODAY I WAS DRIVING ON A ONE WAY STREET IN CITY TRAFFIC WITH NOBODY IN FRONT OF ME AND SEVERAL BEHIND ME, AS I WAS GOING THROUGH A SIGNAL LIGHT INTERSECTION THE CRV WENT INTO COLLISION ALERT WITH A WARNING ON THE DASH AND BEEPING, IT SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. THERE WAS NOBODY IN FRONT OF ME OR COMING FROM EITHER SIDE OF THE CROSS STREET. THIS HAS HAPPEN ONE TIME BEFORE WHEN I WAS PASSING THROUGH A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND ONE LANE HAD CONES CUTTING A TWO LANE DOWN TO ONE LANE. IT AGAIN SLAMMED AN THE BRAKES AS IF I WAS LEAVING THE ROAD. I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE AUTO DIMMING HEADLIGHTS THAT DIM WHEN THEY SHOULD NOT AND GO TO BRIGHT SOMETIMES WHEN MEETING TRAFFIC AND SHOULD BE DIM. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THIS ALSO MORE THAN ONE TIME AND THEY COULD NOT REPEAT THE PROBLEM. I ALSO GET RANDOM MESSAGES THAT POWER HAS BEEN LOST TO MY INFORMATION CENTER (PICTURES INCLUDED). I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS HONDA CRV AND THE DEALER SEEMS THEY ARE JUST WANTING ME TO BE OUT OF WARRANTY OR DON'T CARE.
I BOUGHT CAR USED FROM GM DEALERSHIP 3/16/19, WASN'T AWARE OF PROBLEM UNTIL FIRST SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE.GAS MIXING IN WITH OIL CAUSING OIL LEVEL TO RISE SIGNIFICANTLY OVER SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, ABOUT A QUART HIGH WITH AROUND 2,000 MILES DRIVEN,MOSTLY HIGHWAY. HONDA SERVICE HAD ME BRING IN VEHICLE AFTER OIL CHANGE TO CHECK LEVEL, THEN AGAIN AFTER 1,000 MILES TO RECHECK. BROUGHT IN IN AFTER ABOUT 1700 MILES AND OIL WAS UP ABOUT A QUART ACCORDING TO SERVICE MANAGER. HONDA DEALER PERFORMED SOFTWARE "FIX" TO ALLEVIATE PROBLEM, BUT AFTER 1,500 MILES, OIL LEVEL UP SIGNIFICANTLY AGAIN. DEALER CONTENDS HONDA DOESN'T HAVE PROTOCOLS IN PLACE TO TAKE CARE OF ISSUE YET. CAR IN HONDA DEALERSHIP TODAY AGAIN FOR ASSESSMENT, THIRD OIL CHANGE IN 2 MONTHS. DIFFICULT TO EVALUATE CARS PERFORMANCE SINCE I BOUGHT USED AND NEVER HAD NORMAL BASELINE TO COMPARE TO.
ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE CAR HAS UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT ANY REASON, BRAKED TO A VIRTUAL STOP, AS THOUGH THERE WERE A VEHICLE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME, WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY ON A ROAD GOING ABOUT 40MPH. HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO CARS ANYWHERE NEAR MY VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, MY CAR WILL ALSO UNEXPECTEDLY BEEP AND SIGNAL TO ME THAT I MUST BRAKE, AGAIN, WITHOUT A CAR BEING IN FRONT OF ME, AGAIN, WHILE IN MOTION AT APPROXIMATELY 35MPH. THE HONDA DEALER CLAIMS THEY HAVE LOOKED INTO MY COMPLAINTS, WHICH I SEE AS POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING, PARTICULARLY IF THE CAR BRAKES ON A FAST MOVING INTERSTATE, AND THEY ARE "UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE OR FIND ANY SENSOR ISSUES." THE FACT THAT THIS VEHICLE IS OPERATING CORRECTLY IS PATENTLY UNTRUE AND THE OCCURANCES REGARDING THE SENSOR "BRAKE" MESSAGING IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE FREQUENT.

THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PART OF HONDA SENSING WILL AUTOMATICALLY AND RANDOMLY ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE BREAKS TO BE SELF APPLIED ABRUPTLY EVEN WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. HONDA DOESN'T BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES ALREADY.

AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALER. AIRPORT HONDA (3069 ALCOA HWY, ALCOA, TN 37701, (865) 970-2300) INSTRUCTED THE CONTACT TO HAVE HONDA ROADSIDE SERVICE TOW THE VEHICLE TO THEM FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT SHE FELT UNSAFE IN THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT WANT IT BACK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
AFRAID THIS CAR WILL CATCH ON FIRE! ENGINE OIL IS GETTING DILUTED WITH FUEL DUE TO THE TURBO ENGINES ON THE 2017 -2018 HONDA CRVS. I NOTIFIED STEVENSON HENDRICK HONDA IN DECEMBER 2018 OF A FUEL SMELL IN CABIN OF CAR WHILE DRIVING AND AN MIL (MALFUNCTION ERROR CAME UP & ALL SAFETY FEATURES WERE DISABLED UNTIL I CUT CAR OFF AT NEXT STOP AND RESTARTED. DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE CAR ON 12/24/18 AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP AGAIN DUE TO FUEL SMELL IN CABIN & WE HAD CHECKED OIL & THE DIPSTICK REAKED OF FUEL & WAS WAY OVER THE HIGH MARK. TOOK CAR ON 8/10/19 AND I MADE SERVICE MANAGER TONY CHECK OIL IN FRONT OF ME TO VERIFY FUEL WAS IN IT. THEY SAID THEY CHANGED COMPUTER MODULE AND DID SOME UPDATES TO FIX & TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK ON 8/1/717 AT 8;00 FOR INSTALL OF SPARK PLUGS THEY ORDERED. DROVE 40 MILES BACK HOME AND FUEL WAS ALREADY IN THE OIL AGAIN! CALLED DEALERSHIP BACK TO LET THEM KNOW I WANT THE OIL/OIL FILTER CHANGED AGAIN ON 8/17/19 WHEN THEY DO SPARK PLUGS AND THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO CHECK OIL IN CAR. I CONTACTED HONDA AS WELL & SPOKE TO "CAT". SHE WASN'T HELPFUL AT ALL AND REFUSED TO TELL ME WHY THE SOFTWARE UPDATE NOTICE THEY SENT DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT FUEL DILUTION IN THE OIL. IT ONLY REFERRED TO ERROR CODES & WHIRLING NOISE IN ENGINE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS PROBLEM HAS ONLY BEEN HAPPENING IN "COLD WEATHER REGIONS" AND THAT I AM THE FIRST THEY HAVE HEARD OF. I TOLD THEM THAT IF PEOPLE DON'T CHECK THEIR OIL OR IF THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T TELL THE CONSUMER WHEN THEY CHANGE THEIR OIL THAT THEY WOULDN'T KNOW THEY HAD A PROBLEM SINCE IT HAS NOT BEEN DISCLOSED TO THE CONSUMERS.THIS CAR SCARES ME ME & I'M AFRAID MY ENGINE WILL CATCH ON FIRE FROM THIS ISSUE!

DRIVING DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD DOING ABOUT 55MPH ON JULY 28,19 MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY CAME TO A DEAD STOP FOR NO REASON. CLOSEST VEHICLE IN FRONT WAS 9-10 CAR LENGTHS AHEAD. NOTHING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. IF A VEHICLE WAS BEHIND ME I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED. A MALFUNCTION SUCH AS THIS COULD CAUSE A DEADLY UNAVOIDABLE ACCIDENT. AT THE TIME I DID NOT HAVE THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SET AND HAD NO CONTROL OF GAS PEDAL WHEN THIS COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING ASSIST SYSTEM ACTIVATED. THIS VEHICLE IS A TIME BOMB FOR ANYONE DRIVING IT. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY HAZARD.AND ONE WHICH NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.

I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING AS YOU MAY KNOW THE PULASKI SKYWAY HAS NOT PLACE TO PULL OVER, YOU CAN IMAGINE THE TRAFFIC JAM THAT MY BROKE DOWN CAR CAUSE. THE WEEKEND OF THE 07/21/2019 I HAD A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CABIN AND WHEN I CHECK THE OIL DIPSTICK IT WAS OVERFILL AND HAD THE STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE I CALLED THE DEALER PLANET HONDA AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING MY CAR TO CHECK ON 07/25/2019, THE SAME DAY THE DEALER CALLED ME AND SAID THAT IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THE SMELL OF GASOLINE AND THE OVERFILL ENGINE OIL WAS NORMAL. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE ON DRIVING MY HONDA CRV ANYMORE. I BOUGHT THE CAR ON 06/15/2019 WITH 5,300 MILES ON IT.

I ASKED ABOUT THE SOFTWARE 'FIX' I HAD READ ABOUT BEING PERFORMED AND DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE UPDATE TO MY CAR SINCE IT WASNOT SHOWING ANY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES AT THIS POINT.

CRUISE CONTROL AND OTHER SENSING FEATURES UNAVAILABLE WHILE ERRORS SHOW ON DASHBOARD. ERRORS: BRAKE SYSTEM, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM. CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 22K MILES.

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

THE VEHICLE IS SITTING IN THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT NOW WAITING A HOPEFUL REPAIR. HERE I AM WITH NO VEHICLE, AND A $400 PER MONTH PAYMENT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE IN TODAY'S WORLD. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED, BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS ALLOWED TO BE PUT UP FOR SALE . A VEHICLE IS DEEMED NOT SAFE, WHEN IT'S STALLS ON YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.
WARNING LIGHTS FLASHING THEN HAD SOFTWARE UPDATE AC CONTROL ALL THAT WAS ON THE BULLETIN , LIGHTS FLASHING AGAIN WARNING LIGHTS SO AT 38,000 HAD TO HAVE FUEL INJECTORS, ONE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SINCE THEN AFTER CUTTING CAR OFF HASN'T COME BACK ON YET BOTH STATIONARY, AND IN MOTION .

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle independently abruptly stopped. The contact stated that the brake warning light intermittently flashed on the instrument panel while driving. The contact stated that during one failure, the vehicle stopped abruptly and her left shoulder struck the steering column. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled to have a diagnostic test performed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
Steering wheel feels like it almost locks up and driver must give a slight jerk to turn wheels! Makes a clicking or rattling noise when car is stopped when starting to turn the steering wheel. Very scary and dangerous when driver has to jerk the steering wheel traveling on the highway to keep vehicle in the safe lane. A wreck will happen which is what I told our local Honda Dealership!
COMPUTER BREAK SYSTEM AND APPLIED BRAKES FAILED TO STOP OUR HONDA CRV 2018 AS WE WERE EXITING THE SANTA FE OPERA IN A SLOW MOVING LINE OF CARS DOWN AN INCLINE. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT LEAST THREE TIMES AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE. CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. AT THIS TIME WE MADE THE DECISION TO "SELECT A PINE TREE" AS A WAY TO STOP THE CRV. THIS WAS DONE TO PREVENT A POSSIBLE CHAIN REACTION OF REAR END COLLISIONS TO A DOZEN OR MORE CARS AND POSSIBLE INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CAR WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY.

IN THE WINTER, I NOTICED A REDUCTION IN POWER FROM THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH AND STALLED A FEW TIMES IN PARKING LOTS. THERE WAS THE SMELL OF GAS AND SULFATES COMING THROUGH THE VENTS. THE OIL LEVEL WAS VERY HIGH. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHANGED THE OIL. FOUR MONTHS LATER WITH NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE, THE SMELL OF GAS IS AGAIN COMING THROUGH THE VENTS, THE ENGINE SEEMS TO BE RUNNING ROUGH AGAIN, AND THE OIL LEVEL IS HIGH. I FEAR THE VEHICLE WILL STALL IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION, AND THE FUMES IN THE CABIN MAKE ME FEEL SICK.
