THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUNROOF MAY HAVE BEEN FRACTURED DUE TO A ROCK HITTING IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 680 IN WALNUT CREEK CA AROUND 2;00 PM. TRAFFIC WAS VERY LIGHT AND MY SUNROOF EXPLODED AFTER A LOUD BANG! I PULLED OVER AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING IN THE CAR THAT INDICATED THAT IT WAS HIT BY AN OBJECT. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHEN THERE WAS A BOOM ABOVE OUR CAR AND THEN WHAT SOUNDED LIKE ICE FALLING DOWN THE BACK OF THE CAR. WHEN I PULLED THE SUNROOF SHADE BACK A BIT I REALIZED THE SUNROOF HAD SHATTERED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS A COUPLE MILES AWAY. WHEN I PULLED IN AND LOOKED INTO THE SUNROOF, I EXPECTED TO SEE A ROCK OR SOMETHING BUT THERE WAS NONE. WE HAD NOT PASSED UNDER ANY BRIDGE. MOST OF THE SUNROOF HAD BROKEN INTO LITTLE SMALL GEOMETRIC PIECES. THE EDGES OF THE HOLE IN THE SUNROOF LOOKED LIKE IT WAS CRUMBLING. *TR
