AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHEN STARTING VEHICLE AND WON'T GO OFF
SLIDING DOORS ON BOTH SIDES KEEP STOPPING AND THE ONE ON THE LEFT YOU HAVE TO PULL IT OPEN. DOORS ARE VERY HEAVY TO PULL AND SLIDE BACK SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY CHILDREN OR OTHER PASSENGERS. SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT I RUN INTO ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. AFTER I PURCHASE THE VEHICLE I HAD TO TAKE IT IN DUE TO THE LEFT BACK SLIDING DOOR NOT OPENING SOMEONE HAD TO GET IN AND PUSH ON THE DOOR IN ORDER FOR IT TO OPEN. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS AROUND 2012 OR 2013. NOW IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN IN N2019. SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING THE LEFT SLIDING DOOR WILL OPEN BY ITSELF.
PROFESSIONALLY DIAGNOSED AT DEALERSHIP CATALAYTIC CONVERTER FAULTY AT LESS THAN 90,000 MILES WITH CONSISTENT MAINTENANCE. THERE IS NO REASON TO HAVE TO PAY OVER $2,000 FOR REPAIRS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND HAS HAD RELATIVELY FEW MILES PUT ON IT GIVEN ITS AGE.
I HAD ALL MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED APRIL OF LAST YEAR AND NOW IN FEBRUARY OF 2019 I HAD REPLACE THE BACK MOTOR MOUNT AGAIN. NOW I HAVE YET ANOTHER MOTOR MOUNT GOING BAD. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. THE 06 HONDA ODESSEY NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. EVEN MY MECHANIC SAID THAT HE SEES THIS ALL THE TIME WITH THE 06 ODESSEYS
CHECK AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. I SAW THAT THE 2005 HAD A RECALL FOR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM, WONDERING IF 2006 COULD BE IMPACTED WITH SIMILAR PROBLEM. LIGHT COMES ON BOTH WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, AND WHEN CAR IS IN PARK.
HIGH PRESSURE HOSES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOORS MALFUNCTIONED. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR ALSO FAILED. WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR WAS LATCHED, THE DOOR INDICATOR DISPLAYED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WAS AJAR. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 263,901.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT AN INTERSECTION, WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT, AND THE CONTACT COULD NOT AVOID THE OTHER VEHICLE, AS A RESULT THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK FROM THE SEAT BELT AND BACK. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES AND REAR LEFT PASSENGER SUSTAINED NECK INJURIES ALL REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT MENTION THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT SUSTAINED INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS NIER HIS RESIDENCE AND DROVE THE VEHICLE THERE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED OF THE ACCIDENT DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the power steering malfunctioned causing the steering wheel to become very difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power steering pump hose had malfunctioned causing a power steering fluid leak. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

THE CONTACT CALLED SPREEN HONDA (25050 REDLANDS BLVD, LOMA LINDA, CA 92254, (909) 799-7070) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
AFTER EXPERIENCING INCREASING VIBRATION ONLY DURING ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING THE 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY, I DID SOME RESEARCH. AS IT TURNS OUT, THE ENGINE MOUNTS (ALTERNATELY REFERRED TO AS "MOTOR MOUNTS") ARE AN EXTREMELY WELL-KNOWN DEFECT AMONG CONSUMERS. I WAS AS MUCH AS TOLD BY THE PLEASANT YOUNG WOMAN WHO ANSWERED AT HONDA CONSUMER AFFAIRS THAT BECAUSE THE SAFETY CONCERNS OF BROKEN ENGINE MOUNTS ARE NEGLIGIBLE, THAT THE MANUFACTURER DOESN'T REALLY CARE - DESPITE THE FACT THAT IS A KNOWN DEFECT, IS EXTREMELY PREVALENT, IS RECURRING REQUIRING MANY OWNERS TO REPLACE THE MOUNTS 2,3 4 OR MORE TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF OWNERSHIP, IT HAS A KNOWN CAUSE (THE "ECO DRIVE" SYSTEM, AND CAN BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. IN FACT, WHAT SHE ACTUALLY SAID WAS THAT MY CAR DID NOT HAVE A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH IT. WHEN I INFORMED HER THAT I ALREADY KNEW THAT, BUT WANTED TO REGISTER A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA AND TO INQUIRE AS TO THE LIKELIHOOD OF ANY SORT OF COMPENSATION OR REPAIR, I WAS TOLD TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT. I AGAIN EXPLAINED I'D LIKE TO DEAL WITH HONDA, AND WAS AGAIN ASSURED THAT NO ONE THERE - NO ONE - WAS INTERESTED IN HEARING MY CONCERNS, NOR WOULD ANYONE THERE DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT WITHOUT INTERVENTION FROM THE GOVERNMENT. WHY HAS HONDA NOT ISSUED A RECALL? EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED CAN, AND DOES, CAUSE ISSUES WITH STABILITY AND CONTROL. THE RANGE OF SPEED AT WHICH THIS PROBLEM OCCURS IS WIDENING, AND THE VIBRATION IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY STRONG. AS OF NOW, IT OCCURS ONLY WHILE ACCELERATING, NOT AT ALL DURING COASTING, MOSTLY AT HIGHWAY OR FREEWAY SPEEDS, OR LOWER SPEEDS DURING RAPID ACCELERATION.
ENGINE LEAKING OIL AND SMOKE APPEARS WHEN THE VAN IS ON SEATS FEEL LOOSE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING, THE ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED IN 2015 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V112000 (FUEL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
POWER TRAN FAILED. MISSING FIRE 3 SPARK PLUGS REAR SIDE ENGINE.

WHEN YOUR DRIVING AROUND 60 TO 70 FRONT END STARTS SHAKING, VIBRATING WHEN YOU LET OFF THE GAS PEDDLE IT STOPS BUT WHEN YOU ACCELERATE IT STARTS AGAIN I HAVE READ MANY POST OF THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE REPLACED ALL WHEELS AND SAME THING IS HAPPING
TAKATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THE SELLING DEALER TELLING US THAT A PROBLEM MAY EXIST WITH THE AIR BAGS IN OUR CAR. THEY PROVIDED US WITH A RECALL NUMBER ( EA 15001). I WENT TO OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALER IN FORT MYERS FL. AND THEY TOLD US THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR OUR VEHICLE. WE ARE NOT SURE WHO TO BELIEVE. PLEASE SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT. UPON ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE ON ALL ROADS THERE IS AN UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING. FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR FROM DRIVING AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE,
THE 2 SLIDING DOORS OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. THE DOOR CLOSES AND LATCHES BUT BECOMES UNLATCHED WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE READ ABOUT MANY OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE ONLINE. WHEN WE CONTACT HONDA THEY SAY IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND THEY WON'T FIX IT WITHOUT ME PAYING FOR IT BECAUSE MY VAN IS OUT OF WARRANTY. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
AIR BAGS LIGHT NEVER STOP I FILL LIKE I'M NOT SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WHIT MY FAMILY
THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT STALLED WHEN TRAVELING AT 55 MPH CREATING A DANGER ON THE ROAD. PER MECHANIC, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 150,000 MILES.

WHEN STARTING OR PARKING CAR P/S DOES NOT WORK. ALSO LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN TURNING. HAD PRESSURE HOSE CHANGED. SITUATION GETTING WORSE AND IS BECOMING DANGEROUS. FROM MU MECHANIC AND THE INTERNET LEARNED THAT HONDA HAD SILENT RECALL BUT WAS NEVER NOTIFIED AND THAT RECALL WAS UP TO 100K. THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE AND A MANDATORY RECALL SHOULD BE LAUNCHED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME.

DEALER STATES FRONT ENGINE MOUNT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AFTER ONLY 74,000 MILES. "MOTOR MOUNT - FRONT: WORN OUT" IS THE EXACT STATEMENT. A SIMPLE WEB SEARCH YIELDS NUMEROUS REFERENCES TO BROKEN OR WORN OUT MOTOR MOUNTS ON HONDA VEHICLES WITH 6 CYLINDER ENGINES. AT WHAT POINT DOES THE NHTSA TAKE NOTICE? WHEN DOES HONDA TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE?
THE BACK DOORS IN THE CAR DO NOT LATCH PROPERLY. ONE DOOR OPENS WHILE DRIVING AND THE OTHER ONLY LATCHES ON ONE SIDE.
THE TWO AUTOMATIC ELECTRONIC SIDE DOORS WERE GRINDING AND HAVING A HARD TIME CLOSING. WHEN CLOSING OR OPENING, THE DOORS WOULD BOUNCE/SKIP AND RETURN TO THE STARTING POSITION. TODAY THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR JUST FELL OFF THE TRACK AND WAS HANGING BY A THIN CABLE. THIS ALSO CAUSED SOME BODY DAMAGE.
IN MOTION THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A LOUD RATTLE AS IF SOMETHING WAS HITTING THE VEHICLE'S FAN. TURNS OUT IT IS THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. BECAUSE THERE IS A TSB OUT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY IS REFUSING TO COVER THIS REPAIR THAT RUNS OVER $3K.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR STRUTS THAT HELD THE DOOR SUDDENLY FAILED AND HAD TO BE MANUALLY OPENED OR CLOSED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
THIS VAN HAS BEEN A FRUSTRATING NIGHTMARE. BESIDES THE PAX SYSTEM TIRE ISSUES, WE HAVE HAD TO FIX BOTH SLIDING DOORS BECAUSE THEY FELL OFF. LAST SUMMER THE DOOR WOULDN'T CLOSE, THEN IT FELL OFF THE TRACK WHILE I WAS OUT SHOPPING WITH MY KIDS. MY HUSBAND CAME WITH SOME TOOLS AND HELPED TO GET IT CLOSED SO WE COULD TAKE IT TO THE AUTO SHOP. IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE FIX NOT TO MENTION THE DAMAGE TO THE EXTERIOR. YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS AT THE LIBRARY WITH FOUR OF MY CHILDREN ( 8,6,3, AND A BABY) THE OTHER DOOR CAME OFF THE TRACK. THIS TIME, MY HUSBAND WAS NOT AROUND TO COME HELP US ( HE IS DEPLOYED SERVING IN AFGHANISTAN). WE HAD TO GET THE VAN TOWED, AND THE DOOR STAYED OPEN ALL NIGHT BECAUSE THE SHOP WAS CLOSED. WHILE THERE, ONE OF THE MEN WORKING SAID HE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS ODYSSEY. LOOKING ONLINE I SEE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE BECAUSE A PIECE WAS MADE WITH NYLON ( TO REDUCE NOISE) WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE WITH STEEL. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE HARDWARE ON THIS. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THESE, INSTEAD OF LEAVING THE BURDEN TO REST ON THE CONSUMERS WHO PURCHASED THESE PIECES OF JUNK. WHAT A FRUSTRATING SITUATION!

THE DRIVER DIED INSTANTLY IN THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE CRASH WERE UNKNOWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTHEASTERN HONDA (LOCATED AT 3125 DIXIE HIGHWAY NE PALM BAY, FL 32905) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.
HORRIBLE VIBRATION IN ECO MODE DUE TO VCM (3 CYLINDERS SHUTTING DOWN) AT ALL SPEEDS. NOTICED VIBRATION WHEN SPEED EXCEEDS 50 MPH. HONDA DEALER NOTED THIS IS MOST LIKELY DUE TO EOO MODE BUT VIBRATION IS TOO MUCH TO BE NORMAL. VIBRATION INCREASES IN INTENSITY WHEN ACCELERATING ABOVE 50 MPH. 5 SERVICE INSPECTIONS AND MASTER TECHNICIANS CANNOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM(S)YET. ENGINE MOUNT FAILURE NOTED BY OTHER OWNERS DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM PRECISELY.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE APPROX 80 MILES PER HOUR THIS PAST JUNE MY SUNROOF SHATTERED. I AM FAIRLY CERTAIN NOTHING HIT IT-JUST SPONTAINEOUSLY SHATTERED.
WATER COLLECTS IN THE ENTIRE TRUNK/CARGO AREA DURING AND AFTER RAIN. IT HAS COMPLETELY COVERED THE ENTIRE CARGO AREA INCLUDING SATURATING THE CARPETING WITH OVER 4" OF STANDING WATER IN CARGO AREA. VEHICLE CAN EITHER BE PARKED AND WATER COLLECTS OR WHILE DIVING LOCALLY.
VEHICLE STEERING IS STIFF ON SLOW TURNS AND PARKING. STEERING COLUMN VIBRATES AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. TIE RODS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. NEW TIRES, ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS HAVE ALSO BEEN REPLACED. HIGH PITCHED SOUND ALSO COMES FROM STEERING COLUMN WHILE IDLING IN STATIONARY POSITION. MOISTURE APPEARS AROUND O-RING LEADING INTO THE STEERING FLUID PUMP. REGULAR MAINTENANCE HAS ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED SINCE PURCHASE (NEW IN APRIL 2006). THE STEERING ISSUE CONCERNS ME AS THE 'SYMPTOMS' COME AND GO. I'VE TALKED WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE SAME MODEL/YEAR AND THEY EXPERIENCE SAME PROBLEM. HONDA OWES IT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY POWER STEERING PROBLEM. IT'S A COSTLY REPAIR THAT SEEMS TO BE PREVALENT IN QUITE A FEW 2006 ODYSSEY'S. SERVICE RECORDS FOR THIS VEHICLE ARE IN OWNERS POSSESSION.
THE ENGINE MOUNTS BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED EVEN IF THE MILEAGE IS ONLY 61,000 MILES. THIS IS WAY TOO PREMATURE AND REFLECTS AN ISSUE WITH THE ORIGINAL MOUNTS. HONDA SHOULD COVER MY REPAIRS EXPENSES AND SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AS I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A COMMON RECURRING PROBLEM FOR ODYSSEY.

THE DOORS HAVE ALSO OPENED ON THEIR OWN WHILE PARKED AND UNATTENDED. FINGERS HAVE BEEN PINCHED TRYING OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOORS MANUALLY. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. THIER ARE NUMEROUS INTERNET ENTRIES ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

THIS IS A CAR I JUST PURCHASED FROM OWNER, MY REPORT IS THE SOFT BRAKE PEDAL. HAVING JUST PUT ON NEW PADS, IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY CHANGE IN THE PEDAL AS IT WOULD WITH MOST CARS? IS THERE ANY RECALL ON THIS CAR FOR BRAKES. I READ WHERE MANY OTHER OWNED HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE.
