Front camera appears to have gone out in 2025. All safety features inoperable and constant flashing of warnings making it impossible to determine if anything is actually wrong. Collision mitigation failure, blind spot failure, transmission failure, brake system failure, blind spot. Those control etc. Honda has confirmed its issue with front camera.
since 2023 around august i felt lose of power while driving but i thought its because of the gasoline i used so i didnt care much , thereafter this loss of power problem persisted since then so i took to the dealership at battison honda at nortwest expressway in oklahoma , but they said my vehicle has no issue , but this loss of power issue was not resolved but on 1st week of february i was about to crash on road due to loss of power so took the vehicle to dealership and they said it was due to the trasmission issue and i replaced it as it passed the 5 year powertrain warranty dealership said i have to pay it full , i fight with them for 2 weeks atlast they said i have to pay 5000 dollar . so i paid the amont and they said the transmission has replaced , but still i have some hesitation while accelerate and the same issue of loss of power during acceleration happening , can you please help me to resolve this issue as its not only about money but due to safety concerns , i dont want to deal with trhat dealership anymore . please help me during this difficult situation . thank you .
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact had previously received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that the fuel pump module was replaced but the failure occurred. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.
2019 Honda Odyssey - since about 100,000 miles, a knocking sound has begun to present itself, and has gotten progressively worse. The vehicle is now at 129,000 miles and the sound has been diagnosed by 2 different repair shops as "rod knock" due to premature bearing wear. This is exactly what 250,000 vehicles were recalled for back in January 2024, however, this vehicle's vin was not included in said recall. The repair shops have quoted the vehicle owner $9000 for full engine replacement with a used Honda engine that could potentially have the same manufacturer defect that the engine being replaced has.
All warning lights turned on about 9. Emissions system problem, transmission system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, power steering system (EPS) problem, vehicle stability assist (VSA) problem, hill start assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, blind spot info system problem. Steering becomes really difficult, reverse and forward gives out and really hard to control vehicle. Not able to accelerate. This problem happened out of nowhere no issues prior to the lights coming on Took it to Honda they said there was no problem and they had not experienced this problem before. This is about the fourth time this happens now did my research and other owners of similar vehicles have the same issues.
sorry, I should make the complaint earlier since I just know I can submit it here. I have a 2019 honda odyssey EX-L since 2019 but I only have 22K miles. Starting from 2023, the vin could not pick up speed when we pushed the oil paddle; the transmission got stuck and the van could not be speed up when it was needed in highway. We came across the dangerous situations for several times. We contacted the local honda dealer for several times. They insisted that there was not any problems but they suggested we change the transmission fluid with less then 19000 miles !!!. But even we changed the fluid , the van seemed better for 2 months. I contacted honda USA. But they did not pay any attentions!!!! In the end of Jan 2025, I was making a left turn while the van got stuck there ; I almost got hit by the coming car. It was very terrifying ! I do not know what I can do since I need to use the van to pick up my three kids for school everyday I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. The power tail gate stopped working on 1/28/2025. After diagnosis the power tail gate and it's controls on passenger side rear control panel it is observed that there is water on the controls module. Part 74970-THR-A12Control Module for tailgate has been taken out and found that the water coming though it's sockets. The $200 new control module will temporarily fix the issue but the defective rear body seam seals made of polyurethane that allow water to leak into the rear driver’s side panels can cause the following issues. The tailgate opens and closes at random, The tailgate stays open or fails to close, Tailgate short circuits and causes a fire, Water leaks cause mold and rusting. I request Honda to take responsibility of the issue and fix the problem making sure it meet the safety standards.
Dash warning lights for engine code P2019 associated with the fuel injectors come on and off intermittently. Honda has said my injectors are not under recall despite other 2019 odysseys having been recalled for this same issue. Transmission has expired hesitation in shift moving from a complete stop and acceleration.
It first started with the Power tailgate failure which I brought it to Honda who are aware that there is a faulty sealant that is causing water to get into these odysseys. They refuse to fix the issues and they are very costly. My van has never been in an accident. Now I'm getting all sorts of warnings from the ADAS system. Honda has refused to fix their issues and I can not afford $7000 cost to get this cleared up. People who own these vans are complaining and no one is doing enough to get this recalled.
The camera sensor in my 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L failed due to excessive overheating. The sensor reached extreme temperatures, leading to a complete system failure. As a result, the vehicle became inoperable. The failed component is no longer available for inspection as I was forced to purchase a replacement due to the vehicle’s dependency on it for proper function. The failure of the camera sensor created multiple dangerous situations: Loss of vehicle control: The vehicle lost acceleration functionality and automatically shut itself down, which could have led to a crash in traffic.Dashboard warning lights: All dashboard lights illuminated simultaneously, indicating a severe system failure. Fire hazard: The sensor was emitting extreme heat, creating a potential fire risk due to overheating electronics. Exposure to the elements: The sensor’s placement in direct sunlight likely contributed to its overheating, further increasing the risk of failure. Mandatory dependency on the sensor: The vehicle was rendered inoperable without the functioning sensor, leaving me without a safe means of transportation. A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the sensor had failed due to overheating. However, they stated that the cost of replacement, installation, and recalibration would be my financial responsibility. The issue was evaluated by a Honda dealership, but no manufacturer action was taken to address the failure beyond suggesting an expensive repair. All dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. Loss of acceleration control occurred before the vehicle shut down automatically. The sensor was emitting extreme heat prior to the failure. The issue persisted after restarting the vehicle—after a 10-minute cooldown, the vehicle restarted but failed again after 3-5 minutes. This malfunction was not only a significant inconvenience but a major safety hazard. The sensor’s location makes it highly susceptible to overheating.
At various times since we have owned our van, when the gas pedal is pushed, the car will not move for a few seconds. It will then go, but it’s not smooth. I can never recreate this issue, since it seems to happen randomly. I had it happen today, and it lasted longer than a couple of seconds. I was thankful I was just leaving my neighborhood and not trying to turn onto a busy street.
Water intrusion near rear tailgate control box. The circuit board was ruined by water and the automatic tailgate was at first malfunctioning and then would not function at all. The circuit board had to be replaced.
Vehicle has been experiencing intermittent instances of non movement when gas pedal has been pushed. This has come about sporadically and only been rectified only when vehicle driver has repeated action of "pumping" the gas pedal. In this instances, the situation has put driver and occupants at risk as it happens without warning, not allowing vehicle to drive when cars are fast approaching. Driver will attempt to move from a stopped position to drive and car has not moved. More so, we have a slight incline from our drive way, leading on to a VERY busy road that reaches speeds of 50+ mph. There has been instances where we have attempted to enter the road way from the driveway with approaching vehicles, very far away. Once break pedal was released, the car (due to being on a minimal incline) has begun to roll into the roadway. Driver then proceeds to press the gas pedal down to initiate movement, but vehicle does not move, driver repeats action and car begins to slowly move creating near dangerous heart pounding scenarios where the approaching vehicles that were very very far away when deciding to enter roadway to slamming on their breaks to avoid collision. Vehicle then began displaying an EMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM warning on dashboard. This prompted us to take it to an independent mechanic. Mechanic read the code and right away suggested we contact the dealer, as this is a "known issue" for Honda and the Odysseys and the faulty fuel injectors causing the dashboard light and vehicle not to move when gas pedal is initiated. Local Honda dealership requested vehicle be brought in for diagnostic. We paid $185 to learn what we already knew. Honda has issued an extended warranty on 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys for fuel injector issues but only to certain VIN #s. Upon researching in online forums, many customers with affected year Odysseys are being denied warranty extension due to VIN #s not qualifying. This issue is clearly larger than picked and chosen VIN #s
Multipurpose camera facing front on top of windshield works intermittently. 20% of the time it works fine, usually the first drive of the morning when the car is cool. 80% of the time, within 60 seconds upon startup there are 5 bright orange warning lights that come on all related to a malfunction in the multipurpose camera. These are: Adaptive Cruise Control Failure, Collision Mitigation System Failure, Lane Keeping Assistance Problem, Road Departure Assistance Problem, Auto-High Beam failure. Most concerning is that the “BRAKE SYSTEM” light stays illuminated orange after these warnings come on. My car will not pass inspection if it happens to have these intermittent warnings happen that trip. This started 1 month ago, out of the blue. From what I read online in Reddit and ODY.com…this multipurpose camera failure happens to many people at the 4-5 year mark. One person has a video posted about how it’s the camera overheating…it becomes too hot to touch. If you pour water on the windshield outside it will cool it off enough to work again. I think this is a malfunction/manufacturing defect in the camera itself. It should not randomly fail after only 4-5 years. It’s connected to all these vital safety systems. The repair cost quoted to me is $2686.88 + tax. This is SO expensive and I cannot afford to fix this. I don’t need the camera because I learned to drive without all these features, but I cannot remove this option. So, I’m stuck with having to pay a huge amount for something that is a manufacturing defect in the camera itself.
Vehicle has hard shifting up and down. Loud clank when up shifting or down shifting at random times.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the low oil pressure warning light and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that messages indicating Emissions, Lane Assist failures, and other unknown messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the vehicle had passed inspection, and the failure could be a computer software failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V439000 (Back Over Prevention, Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. Additionally, the contact stated that the passenger's side and driver's side sliding doors had failed to open and close as intended while engaging the automatic power door switch. The contact stated that the sliding doors were able to close manually for a while. The contact stated that upon closing the sliding doors manually, a chime indicating that the sliding doors were not closed securely was sounded. The contact stated that the passenger's side sliding door was half-opened and half-closed. The contact stated that the driver's side sliding door had failed to close and to latch as intended. The contact stated that one of the interior sliding door panels had fallen while driving. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V437000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was notified of the failure, and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with multiple warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, and the contact was informed that the remedy parts were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
2019 Honday Odyssey. Front camera failure is causing subsequent failure of several features to include: front brake assist and crash avoidance, lane keep assist, auto high beam, auto cruise control. Honda denies responsibility or acknowledgment that this is a faulty part and the out of pocket cost of replacement is ~$1500. This is unacceptable for a 5 year car and creates a serious driving hazard.
Vehicule does not respond when push the gas pedal. There is a delay on the vehicule respond after push the gas. Creating false idea of not pushing the gas enough. Suddenly the vehicule react loosing control.
Brought my 2019 Odessey to the dealership shortly after I had the following error messages appeared on my dashboard: Brake System, Auto High-Beam Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, & Adaptive Cruise Control Problem. Sometimes these pop-up intermittently. Other codes I've seen twice since this issue started are Transmission System Problem and Blind Spot Info System Problem. The dealership mentioned that these error codes are most likely associated with the other codes mentioned above. Did a diagnostic at the dealership and they initially cleared all codes and U300-49 returned and they are recommending replacing the Multi-purpose camara unit and they are charging $2,256.95 for this to be done. This repair is costly and from what I understand is a common issue for Odessey owners. In addition, since this little part seems responsible for upholding these safety features it seems ridiculous that we paid good money to have this vehicle, but our all these safety features seem to be on hold until we get this costly repair done. I personally don't feel 100% safe driving the vehicle. To me, it feels like a gamble to put my family and the public in danger by driving the vehicle because every time I turn on the vehicle the warning sounds beep and flash, I don't feel safe.
The warning for these ADAS keeps coming on without any reason
I am reporting a serious safety concern regarding my 2019 Honda Odyssey, which poses a risk to me and my family. The issue is intermittent, making it difficult for the dealership to replicate. The problem began when the Collision Mitigation System warning light flashed, indicating a system malfunction. This was followed by multiple warning lights appearing on the dashboard. At times, the entire dashboard and screen go blank, and all gauges shut off while I am driving on both city streets and highways-though the engine remains on. Additionally, I have experienced the following issues: The steering wheel stiffness when making turns, the vehicle hesitates to accelerate after being at a stop. In December 2023, I took the vehicle to a Honda Dealership, where they recommended replacing the front camera/sensor (behind the rear mirror) at a cost of over $1,500.00. I proceeded with the repair in December 2023. However, the same issues returned in January 2025. This defect poses a severe safety risk, especially when driving at higher speeds or in traffic. Since the dealership has been unable to diagnose the issue due to its sporadic nature, I am requesting an investigation into this matter to determine if other owners are experiencing similar safety risks. Thank you for your time and attention to this issue.
Multipurpose Camera failed at 110000 miles. This causes deactivation of the Lane Keep Assist, Collision Mitigation, Road Departure Mitigation, Auto High Beam and cruise control systems. The primary advanced safety features of the vehicle are disabled due to this issue. Issue has been reported to the dealer and they state that it is a common issue, but no recall or TSB for it yet. Warning lights come up on the dash every time the vehicle is turned on.
At the grocery store and trunk would not close. Warning on the dash says “power tailgate problem”. Stranded my wife in the parking lot until she was able to get in touch with me to tell her she had to close it manually. It’s very hard to overcome the actuators manually if you’re a smaller statured person.
Leak in roof rail seam causes interior water leak and fried liftgate opener. Known issue manufacturer is not willing to address. Recent class action: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
ADAS system has failed. Out of the blue, multiple warning lights have came on at the same time. This failed system is a danger by taking away some important safety features of the vehicle. -Collision mitigation system problem -Auto high beam problem -Road departure mitigation system problem -lane keeping assist problem -adaptive cruise control problem Vehicle has been taken to local mechanic to check codes. Codes cleared yet returned immediately. Seems to be an issue with a multipurpose camera in the front.
Since purchasing the vehicle, I've had several incidents where my safety and those inside my vehicle are compromised due to the loss of drive power and stalling of the vehicle while driving. I've complained to the dealer for which they continued to assure me that there was no problem detected during the safety inspections. Recently I received the recall notice to replace the fuel pump module which was causing the issues that I've experienced with my vehicle. I took my vehicle to the dealer on 11/11/24, where it was serviced to correct the recall issues. However, I continue to have the same problems of stalling and loss of drive power when driving the vehicle. There are no warning lamps or other issues detected by the dealer according to their safety inspection. My safety and the safety of my passengers, continues to be put at risk. While driving in the highway it is especially dangerous because when I'm changing lanes the vehicle will not accelerate putting me at a risk for a collision. When I am turning left into a street, I feel that it looses power and am stalled in the middle on the street risking yet again a collision. These incidents occur at least 90 percent of the time when driving.
After coming to a complete start at a stop light the engine failed to restart when I took my foot off the brake. Car turned off completely and I needed to push power button to restart car. This was very dangerous with the delay in getting car restarted in traffic. This has happened a number of times. I told the dealer and they told me it was user error.
The vehicle has been occasionally stalling starting early 2024, maybe sooner. I had the fuel pump recall done recently. The vehicle is still stalling, and it seems to be getting worse. The stalling happens when driving at speed, even over 70+ mph. No warning lights. But rpms drop to almost zero for a few seconds and accelerator is unresponsive. Then it comes back after a few seconds. This is dangerous. Especially on busy highways.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 50-60 MPH, the front driver's side air bag unexpectedly deployed without an impact to the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. There were no injuries sustained. The Highway Patrol escorted the vehicle to a friend's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a claim with the Insurance provider. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Rear power tailgate module fried due to moisture intrusion. Trunk will not close. Lock stuck in closed position.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The vehicles monocular camera assembly is failing and causing all the adas systems to not operate. This is a severe safety issue and is a common problem for Honda vehicles. Honda should be required to recall and replace the faulty camera.
I began have an issue with intermittent warnings on my vehicle a few months ago. They’d come and go, sometimes going away for a couple weeks. I took it to Honda they said it was the battery. After changing the battery it continues to intermittently show warnings. Collision mitigation problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane assist problem. I took it to 3 mechanics and no one could figure it out. Finally I went back to Safelite where I got my windshield replaced in September and when they hooked it up they could see that it was the multipurpose camera failure. Error code u3000 49. When the warnings are turned on all those safety features are obsolete. Upon further investigation via the Internet I now see there’s hundreds of posts with this specific problem with their 2019 Honda odyssey.
multiple errors show up on the dash. I was told it’s dealership, but this is due to a failure of the multipurpose computer in the car. This is the issue that keeps recurring across all their cars of this type that has this unit.
LKA; Collision Mitigation Problem; Auto High Beam; Road Departure Mitigation; Adaptive Cruise Control Dashboard has ALL of these lighting up. Dealer said it was a sensor issue. No accidents; well cared for vehicle just spontaneously started issuing these alerts each time the car starts and the duration of the drive. Due to all the warnings the driver isn’t able to see fuel range etc.
No acceleration on freeway/highway
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called several dealers who stated that the parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that the parts were coming from oversees. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The "Airbag System (SRS) Problem" warning appears too often. We have brought it several times to (different) mechanics and each time they find something else wrong. After several thousand dollars spent (whether it is replacing the module, airbags, wires, etc.) the warning light eventually comes back on. In speaking with other 2019 Honda owners it seems this is a known issue. At this point, we do not know what else we can do to fix it and if it indeed is a danger to drive it.
Driver side rear frame next to tailgate has some holes at the welding site that allowed water to get in between the frame and the interior of the car and have fried the power tailgate module. I have had to purchase a new power tailgate module due to this
Adaptive Cruise Control Lane Keeping Assist Road Departure Mitigation System Collision Mitigation System Brake System These systems are all failing to operate. Upon startup of vehicle, the error lights for the above issues alert and systems cannot be utilized. Dealership states this is a known issue & likely requires a complete replacement of Honda Sensing/multipurpose camera/sensors at a cost of approximately $2000.00
I took my van to the dealer and they told me that the sensor inside of the front mirror is faulty, causing the following lights to continue to cycle if the car is on: Adaptive cruise control problem (ACC); Auto high-beam problem (A); Road departure mitigation system problem; collision mitigation system problem; lane keeping assist problem (LKAS); brake system lights. I am unable to engage or disengage any of these systems, including when I am driving. This seems to be a major security hazard and I am aware of others that have experienced this with this exact year, make and model (across different packages) of Honda minivan. I just wanted to report this in case this becomes a major concern for other consumers.
I received a safety recall notice from Honda which is informing me that the parts for the fuel pump recall are now available. However, the second sentence of the letter states that the recall applies to 2018-2023 CR-V vehicles and I own a Honda Odyssey, not a CR-V. The letter is confusing since I do not own a CR-V.
Honda has not completed the recall in a timely manner. I was notified in February of 2024 about the fuel injector recall. I have called multiple times and also requested the recall be performed when my vehicle was in the dealer’s shop. However, I was always told the parts are not available or my model is not the highest priority. The dealer kept pushing the time out for when I could have the recall performed. Currently, they are saying April of 2025.
Multipurpose camera malfunction.
Received the letter for the recall. Noticed that the vehicle does occasionally hesitate during acceleration (sometimes at lights at intersections which is super dangerous) I have have multiple people who don't know about the recall asked me what's wrong with my car, why is it hesitating. Called 2 separate Honda dealerships total of 4 times to see if I can get the resolved. They all said they know about the recall but do not have parts. (this happened throughout the duration of 1+ year after the initial recall started) Called Honda USA, they say they can not do anything, but if I pay for the inspection (without telling the dealership about the recall) and they found something wrong, they would then do the repairs) Even though the recall says if we experience issues (hesitation is listed) I paid for the inspection, and of course they did not find anything wrong. So now I am out inspection fee, a car that I don't feel safe to drive my family in, and total distrust of entire Honda brand.
The adaptive cruise control stopped working while it was on and we were driving. Also the lane keep assist went out at the same time. It appears to be an extremely common issue in this cars with the front sensing camera which is the issue we have.
The power lift gate would not open with the button on the dash, the button on the door, or the button on the key fob. The only way I could open it was to crawl in the back of the van, remove the access panel for the lock mechanism, and use the lever to unlock the door. Upon troubleshooting the problem, it was determined that the power lift gate control module needed to be replaced. That fixed the issue, however Upon inspection on the old module, which is located inside the vehicle, behind the driver rear quarter interior panel, there was obvious signs the failure was due to severe water damage intrusion into the module.
ADAS completly stoped working and warning lights about multiple failures showed. I am having trouble with the factory dealer. Honda. They want 1800.00 dollars to replace camera and fix The Warranty i have will not cover it. I have seen a ton of this similar situation posted all over online.
My odyssey will intermittently refuse to respond to pressure on the accelerator. If I push the pedal to quickly gain speed, from stopping, it will lag for 2-3 seconds before suddenly leaping forward and squealing my tires. This is very unsafe because it has caused me to be in several near collisions. The dealer confirms that other customers have experienced this issue, but Honda has not made a diagnosis or fix available. I have experienced this problem intermittently for several years, beginning around 50,000 miles, and my husband has also noticed it. All maintenance is current, and we have had the fuel system cleaned to try to fix it.
