When this occurs, the vehicle stalls completely in traffic and must be manually restarted by the driver. This has happened multiple times and is reproducible. The failed component is the Auto Idle Stop/engine restart system. The vehicle is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others has been put at risk multiple times because the vehicle stalled at traffic lights in active traffic, leaving me unable to accelerate through an intersection. The problem has been confirmed by Honda Marysville dealership. The dealer stated they could not repair the issue and advised me to modify my driving behavior as a workaround. No repair was performed. The vehicle has been inspected by the selling dealership. A message appears during the failure telling me to restart the car. The problem first appeared within the first year of ownership on a brand new vehicle with basically zero miles at purchase. The cause appears to be a defect in the Auto Idle Stop restart system that fails under specific braking conditions.
