There are 2 owner-reported electrical system complaints for the 2024 Honda Passportin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
At a red light in an intereection the Auto engine idle stopper feature stopped the engine and it failed to power / restart the engine. The cars electral system locked up. Could not restart engine, and could not put car in neutral because engine needs to be on. Had to car battery jumped. Took car to honda dealership after incident. They concluded that the battery and electrical systems passed all diagnostic tests. If this is the case there is a major safety issue with the car.
I am having an issue with the turn signal / emergency flasher not making any noise while in operation. The system visual components work fine. It's the inability to hear the flashing of the signals while driving down the road This could lead to issues with other cars trying to interpret the intention of the movement of my car while I am driving. I went to the Honda dealership (Gillman Honda) service department and was informed that my particular model does not have a fix or capability for the sound level to be adjusted, whereas other models (Pilot, Accord, etc.) do have this capability. Replacement of the flasher is not an option. Could the NHTSA please create a minimum decibel level standard to help insure safe operation of vehicles on the roads.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
