DRIVERS SIDE REAR STRUT LEAKING AND MAKING NOISE, DEALER CHANGED THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT AND REAR STRUTS, VECHICLE NOW RIDES STIFF ON DRIVERS SIDE. *JB
THE POWER DRIVER'S SEAT ON MY 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE MOVES (ROCKS) WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE ENTIRE SEAT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1200 (THE VEHICLE IS OFF WARRANTY WITH 59,000 MILES). I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE INTEGRITY AND SAFETY OF THE FRONT SEAT SUPPORT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH IN THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK SINCE NEW, AND PURCHASED IT FROM THE CORPORATE LEASING COMPANY. I DON'T THINK THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A SAFETY ISSUE CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT OR DEFECTIVE DESIGN. I HAVE CHECKED, AND VARIOUS OTHER HONDA VEHICLES HAVE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, AND SOME HAVE EVEN HAD A TSB FOR THE "ROCKING" SEAT REPAIRS REQUIRED (E.G. 2003 CIVIC). *TR

REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WINDOW WILL NOT MOVE. *AK
THE ODOMETER SEEMS TO TURN MUCH FASTER THAN THE DISTANCE I'VE TRAVELED, MY VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND THE ODOMETER IS ALREADY UP TO 31,500 MILES. I ONLY HAVE TO DRIVE IT FROM HOME TO WORK (ABOUT 10-15 MILES A DAY). I'VE CALLED THE AMERICAN HONDA AND I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS MATTER. ON APRIL 24,2007, I ACCIDENTALLY REAR-ENDED A VEHICLE STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT. I SUSTAINED SOME MODERATE FRONT END DAMAGE BUT IT WAS NOT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IT IS THE OPERATION OF THE SRS THAT I HAVE TRIED TO HAVE HONDA EXPLAIN. NEITHER THE SERVICE MANAGER, FACTORY FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, NOR THE HONDA AMERICA CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL HAVE ADEQUATELY ANSWERED MY QUESTION AS TO WHETHER MY DRIVER'S AIRBAG IS FUNCTIONAL. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT TENSIONER DID LOCK AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID DEPLOY ALTHOUGH THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. HOWEVER, THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. ASIDE FORM THE COST OF REPLACING THE UNNECESSARILY DEPLOYED PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE FACT THAT THE FACTORY REPLACEMENT PART DID NOT MATCH MY DASHBOARD COLOR, MY MAJOR CONCERN HAS BEEN WHETHER OR NOT THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG WAS, OR STILL IS, FUNCTIONAL. THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES ON THE COMPUTER NOR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. ANSWERS TO OUR QUESTIONS TO HONDA ABOUT THIS HAVE NOT BEEN ADEQUATE AND LONG IN COMING. ASIDE FROM AN ACTUAL CRASH TEST HOW CAN ONE BE SURE THAT AN AIRBAG IS FUNCTIONAL IN LIGHT OF THE FACT THAT IT DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN THE PASSENGER'S AIRBAG AND THE TENSIONER LOCK DID DEPLOY? WHEN THEY SNICKER AT MY WIFE THAT," SINCE NO ONE WAS INJURED, EVERYTHING MUST BE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY", I DO NOT FEEL THAT I AM BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY. 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY BUT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DID DEPLOY. *KB
I OWN A 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE THAT I PURCHASED WHEN IT WAS NEW. RIGHT AFTER IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY ALL OF MY HEAT/A/C CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING, YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO PUSH IN THE KNOB & TWIST OR BANG IT TO MAKE THE MOTOR COME ON AND THEN IT IS ONLY AT ONE SPEED- EITHER THAT SPEED OR OFF AND IT TURNS ON & OFF FOR THE LENGTH OF THE TRIP WHEN EVER IT WANTS. THE DEALER STATES THAT THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE CONTROL CONSOLE WHICH WILL COST WELL OVER $1,000! THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL CONSIDERING THAT THERE MUST BE A WIRE ISSUE IN THIS VEHICLE. ALSO, I KNOW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE HEAT/A/C AND BROUGHT MINE IN FOR THAT RECALL BUT WAS TOLD THAT MINE WAS NOT PART OF THE GROUP- IS THIS THE SAME PROBLEM? I ALSO SAW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ODOMETERS AND BROUGHT MINE IN FOR THAT RECALL ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL BUT MY ODOMETER IS ALWAYS COUNTING AT LEAST 25 MILES MORE PER TANK FULL OF GAS THEN WHAT I ACTUALLY HAVE DRIVEN. THEREFORE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED SO FAST BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I POINTED OUT THAT I HAVE A GPS UNIT, ALWAYS HAVE HAD ONE AND EVERYTIME THAT I GAS UP I CHECK THE POOR GAS MILEAGE THAT I GET AND THEY NEVER ARE EVEN CLOSE, AS I STATED AROUND 25 MILES OFF EACH TANK FULL!! NONE OF MY DOORS WILL UNLOCK WHEN THE TRUCK IS PLACED INTO PARK AND I COMPLAINED ABOUIT THIS AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A SAFETY PART OF TEH TRUCK, THE KIDS CAN NOT OPEN A DOOR, MY KIDS ARE OVER 18 YRS OLD, PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE SO THAT MY PASSANGERS CAN GET OUT IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY! *TR
I OWN A 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE. I WAS NOTIFIED OF A POSSIBLE RECALL FOR THE ODOMETER BEING DEFECTIVE BUT WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO MY DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT AFFECTED YET MY ODOMETER HAS BEEN OFF SINCE DAY ONE WHICH DOES NOT SEEM TO MATTER TO THE DEALER, THE ODOMETER ALWAYS HAS READ UP TOO 10 MILES MORE PER TANK FULL OF GAS THEN MY GPS UNIT DOES WHICH IN A WEEK CAN AD UP TO 40 MILES EXTRA ON THE ODOMETER THAT I HAVE NOT YET TRAVELED. HOW CAN I GET MY ODOMETER AND MILEAGE CORRECTED? THANK YOU. *KB
WHILE DRIVING THE HONDA RIDGELINE AND PULLING A 2006 KEYSTONE ZEPPELIN TRAILER ON APRIL 11, 2007 IN THE EARLY DAY. I PRESSED THE BRAKES DUE TO A STOP SIGN AND THE ENTIRE REAR AXLE COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE TRAILER. THE TRAILER COULD NOT BE PULLED UNLESS IT HAD BOTH OF ITS TWO AXLES ATTACHED. I CALLED THE TRAILER DEALER. THE LOCAL SHERIFF ARRIVED , ALTHOUGH I DID NOT CALL HIM AND ACCOMPANIED ME AT 5 MPH TO A NEARBY COMMERCIAL TRAILER STOP. I CALLED A TRAILER REPAIR STATION LOCATED A BLOCK AWAY, WHO CAME TO THE SITE TO RETRIEVE THE DETACHED AXLE. THE TRAILER MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE, EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER MADE AN INQUIRY BEFORE THE WARRANTY ENDED. THEY REQUESTED THAT THE AXLE BE RETURNED TO THEM. THEY INSPECTED IT, AND DETERMINED THAT THE BOLTS WERE LOOSE. I BELIEVE THEY WERE INCORRECT, AND OTHER TRAILERS WILL EXPERIENCE SIMILAR AXLE SEPARATION, PERHAPS CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE BOLTS WERE RUSTED AND DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. THE AXLE HAD A PLATE WELDED TO IT WITH HOLES AT THE TOP THAT ATTACH TO THE FRAME WITH BOLTS. NEITHER THE BOLTS NOR THE WELDS SHOWED ANY DAMAGE. RATHER, THERE WAS A GIANT TEAR LOCATED APPROXIMATELY MIDWAY BETWEEN THE WELD ON THE AXLE AND BOLTS THROUGH THE FRAME. IN OTHER WORDS, THE STEEL TORE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLATE AWAY FROM EITHER CONNECTION. TESTS WILL DISCOVER THAT THE STEEL WAS SIMPLY TOO THIN FOR THE BRAKING FORCES OF THE TRAILER. THE TRAILER HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED BECAUSE I AM SURE THE SAME TEAR WILL OCCUR IF THE SAME TOO-THIN STEEL PLATES WERE USED. PLEASE INSPECT IT AS SOON AS YOU CAN. I WANT TO HAVE A WELDER DOUBLE THE PLATE BEFORE A NEW AXLE WAS INSTALLED. IF MY SUPPOSITION WAS CORRECT THEN THERE WILL BE A SERIOUS INJURY IN THE FUTURE WHEN MORE OF THESE TRAILERS HAVE MORE HOURS ON THEM. PLEASE ADVISE ME IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE TRAILER SO I CAN COMPLETE REPAIRS. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THERE IS NO STRUCTURAL CROSS BEAMS, THE BEAMS ARE SO THIN THE FRAME FLEXES. *TR
WINDSHIELD STRESS CRACK. STARTING POINT WAS UPPER PASSENGER CORNER AND PROPAGATED TO CENTER OF WIND SCREEN. DEALER SAYS IT WAS A STONE THAT CAUSED THE CRACK, THERE IS NO DIVOT FROM A STONE.*AK

A recall on rear frame rust compromised with gas tank strapping
I WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. I WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, AND THE DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT. *NM
I WENT TO SAFEKIDS TO GET INSTRUCTION ON PROPER INSTALLATION OF A CHILD SAFETY SEAT IN MY 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO ACCOMMODATE PROPER INSTALLATION BECAUSE THE DIAMETER OF THE BAR AT THE TOP OF THE SEAT IS TOP LARGE FOR THE HOOK AND THE STANDARD CHILD SAFETY SEAT. CONVERSATIONS WITH AMERICAN HONDA (JAMAL BROWN) INDICATED THAT THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM THEY CAN FIX, NOR WAS IT SERIOUS ENOUGH TO WARRANT ADDRESSING A CORRECTION FOR FUTURE MODELS, AND THAT I SHOULD TRY TO FIND ANOTHER TYPE OF SAFETY SEAT. I INVESTIGATED OTHER HONDA CARS, TRUCK AND VANS. ALL HAD THE PROPER SIZE HOOK TO ACCOMMODATE THE SAFETY SEAT. 6 OTHER POPULAR MODELS OF SAFETY SEAT ALL HAVE THE SAME SIZE HOOK. THE RIDGELINE ALSO HAS BARS FOR THE LOWER SAFETY SEAT HOOKS. THESE BARS ARE THE PROPER SIZE AND COMPARABLE TO THE SEAT TOP BARS ON OTHER HONDA MODELS. I CHECK THE 2007 RIDGELIND AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. *NM
TIRE JACK ON THE HONDA RIDGELINE DOES NOT RAISE UP HIGH ENOUGH TO CHANGE A TIRE. YOU NEED TO HAVE A BOARD AT LEAST AN INCH TALL TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE. *NM
ON AUGUST 15, I PURCHASED A HONDA RIDGELINE 2006 FROM MY LOCAL DEALER. ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE PERFORMS WELL, THE HONDA MUSIC LINK IPOD ADAPTER WAS A WASTE OF $475.00. THE HONDA MUSIC LINK IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO USE AND IS ACTUALLY A HAZARD TO SAFE DRIVING. THE SOFTWARE REQUIRES SIGNIFICANT USER INTERVENTION AND DISTRACTS THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION FROM SAFELY OPERATING THE VEHICLE. WHEREAS AUTOMOBILE RADIOS HAVE TYPICALLY USED A SIMPLE INTERFACE (BUTTONS AND A DIAL) CONSUMER ELECTRONICS HAVE BECOME PROGRESSIVELY MORE COMPLEX. ALTHOUGH A COMMUTER RIDING A BUS OR A TRAIN MAY BE ABLE TO SPEND THE HOURS FIDDLING WITH THE DEVICE INTERFACE, THE OPERATOR OF A VEHICLE DOES NOT. I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR THOUGHTS AS TO HOW TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION BEFORE ANY INNOCENT LIVES ARE LOST BECAUSE THE DRIVER WAS BUSY 'PLAYING WITH THE IPOD'. THOSE OF US WHO HAVE CHILDREN SHOULD WANT TO LEAVE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR THEM. THOSE OF US WHO DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN HAVE THE LUXURY OF THINKING ONLY OF OURSELVES, BUT IN THINKING OF OTHERS, SET AN EXAMPLE FOR ALL TO FOLLOW. *JB
I HAVE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH UN-COMMANDED ACCELERATOR SURGING ON MY 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE. THIS HAS BEEN ADDRESSED WITH BOTH THE DEALER AND HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE. AFTER WHICH THE HONDA TECH REP INFORMED THE DEALER NOT TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE. AFTER DRIVING SOME DISTANCE AT CONSTANT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THEN MAKING A SPEED CHANGE SUCH AS PASSING OR SLOWING FOR TRAFFIC, THERE IS AT TIMES A UN-COMMANDED ACCELERATOR SURGING. *JB
RIDGELINES BUILT PRIOR TO 8/24/2005 DOES NOT SUPPORT TRAILERS WITH SURGE BRAKES. TOW ELECTRICAL HARNESS NEEDS A 12V LINE INTO THE TRAILER TO DISENGAGE BRAKES WHEN TRAILER IS BACKING UP. DURING REVERSE, SINCE THERE IS NO 12V INTO THE TRAILER, THE TRAILER CANNOT BE BACK UP. THE DISK BRAKES ARE LOCKED IN THE TRAILER. HONDA HAS RECTIFIED THE ISSUE ON NEWER RIDGELINES. *NM
WATER IS LEAKING INTO CAB AND ACCUMULATING UNDER DRIVER'S SIDE CARPET. AND SLOWLY MAKES ITS WAY TOWARDS THE REAR AND PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE OVER TIME. *NM
INTERIOR SEAT FABRIC IS DEFECTIVE IN THAT IT STAINS EASILY. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT WAS WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR TO GET IT WHEN IT WAS RAINING AND THE SEATS WERE DISCOLORED EVEN WHEN DRY. OTHER EVENTS SUCH AS USING THE ARMREST AND IT BECOMING DISCOLORED, ETC. HAPPENED CONTINUOUSLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEATS WITH HONDA'S ORIGINAL MATERIALS ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME THING HAPPEN. I NOW USE SEAT COVERS TO PROTECT FROM FURTHER DAMAGE-WHICH IS A HAZARD TO THE OPERATION OF THE SIDE AIRBAGS. I HAVE BEEN LEFT WITH NO OTHER OPTIONS. *TR

COMPLAINT RE: OEM TIRES: MICHELIN TIRES (P245 65 R17 105S LTX M/S RADIAL X)WHILE NEGOTIATING A CURVE ON GARRISON AVE. BEFORE 13TH STREET, IN THE INNER LANE (4 LANE ROAD), TRAVELING APPX. 25-30 MPH, WAS CROWDED INTO THE CURB BY A CAR IN LEFT HAND LANE. THERE WAS NOT A HARD IMPACT, AS THE TRUCK WAS ROUGHLY PARALLEL TO THE CURB. I FELT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK START TO "CLIMB UP" ON THE CURB. IMMEDIATELY FLATTENED BOTH TIRES ON THE RIGHT SIDE. MAINTAINED CONTROL, & PULLED OFF IN PARKING LOT. BOTH TIRES HAD "U-SHAPED FLAPS" RIPPED IN THE SIDEWALL. OMITTED EXACT DESCRIPTION OF THE "RIPS" TO REDUCE CHARACTER COUNT, BUT IT'S AVAILABLE ON REQUEST. IT WAS NIGHT, BUT I LOOKED AT THE CURB & ROAD FOR ANY SHARP OBJECTS THAT WOULD EXPLAIN THE DAMAGE TO THE SIDEWALLS & FOUND NOTHING. NEXT DAY, I EXAMINED THE CURB & VICINITY CLOSELY. I TOOK PHOTOS OF THE TIRES, THE CURB, & VICINITY. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT WOULD HAVE OBVIOUSLY CAUSED THE DAMAGE. I BELIEVE THE TIRES BLEW OUT DUE TO LOW SPEED CONTACT WITH THE CURB. I BELIEVE THE TIRE SIDEWALLS ARE INSUFFICIENT IN DESIGN & CONSTRUCT FOR USE ON THIS TRUCK, & THAT THE TIRE SIDEWALLS COLLAPSED SIGNIFICANTLY WHEN THEY CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE CURB, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY DID NOT SUSTAIN A DIRECT IMPACT. (ALL 4 TIRES FULLY INFLATED: TRUCK WAS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD & THE TIRES HAD < 5000 MILES ON THEM). I BELIEVE THE COLLAPSE OF THE SIDEWALL CAUSED IT TO BE "PINCHED" BY THE RIM, & DUE TO SUBSTANDARD SIDEWALL CONSTRUCT, IT WAS FOLLOWED BUT A SUDDEN & CATASTROPHIC RIP (BLOW OUT) UP THE SIDEWALL. I STILL HAVE THE TWO TIRES. THESE TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED FOR OEM PLACEMENT ON A 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK, BUT FAILED TO WITHSTAND A MINOR BRUSH WITH A CURB ON A CITY STREET. I BELIEVE THESE TIRES ARE INFERIOR IN DESIGN, DEFECTIVE IN CONSTRUCT, & SUB-STANDARD FOR THE APPLICATION. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED MOLD WAS OBSERVED ON THE REAR BRAKE LINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS WASHED AND REPAINTED DUE TO THE MOLD ON THE VEHICLE. AFTER THIS INCIDENT, THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND CORROSION WAS DISCOVERED ON THE PIECES THAT HOLD THE BRAKE LINE TO THE VEHICLE. DURING THE INSPECTION, THERE WAS NO LEAK IN THE BRAKE LINE, BUT THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERNS THAT THIS COULD OCCUR IN THE FUTURE DUE TO THE CORROSION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC SINCE THE CORROSION WAS OBSERVED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS UNWARRANTLY DEPLOYED. NO ACCIDENT WAS INVOLVED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE PRIOR TO THE DEPLOYMENT. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED WHO DETERMINED THE UNWARRANTED DEPLOYMENT WAS DUE TO MUD LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. PICTURES WERE TAKEN BY THE DEALERSHIP.
RAINING, TRAVELING NORTH, FAR RIGHT LANE ON VERY BUSY STREET IN LOS ANGELES (SEPULVEDA) WHEN A CAR TRAVELING SOUTH TURNED LEFT. WE DID HEAD-ON IMPACT INTO THE SIDE OF HIS CAR. HIS AIRBAG DEPLOYED - OURS DID NOT - BUT THE MOST CONCERN IS THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE SEAT BELT MALFUNCTIONED THUS ALLOWING THE IMPACT TO THROW ME FORWARD AND ON THE IMPACT STRIKING MY HEAD ON WINDSHIELD OR VISOR AND BOTH KNEES AND LOWER LEGS ON DASH; THEN THROWN BACK INTO SEAT RESULTING IN WRENCHED BACK AND NECK, KNOCKING AIR OUT OF ME. THE SEAT BELT WAS LOCKED INTO AN EXTRA-LARGE POSITION WHEN CAR STOPPED. THE DRIVER-SIDE SEAT BELT HAD NO PROBLEMS AND DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. *NM
HESITATION OCCURS CONSISTENTLY WHEN SPEED IS UNDER 10 MPH AND THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE. WAS LEAVING PARKING LOT OF CONVENIENCE STORE ROLLING TO EXIT STEPPED ON THE GAS TO GET INTO TRAFFIC AND TRUCK HESITATED FOR 2-3 SECONDS PUTTING ME INTO TRAFFIC WITH NO POWER FOR THOSE 2-3 SECONDS. TRAFFIC HAD TO BRAKE FOR ME. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY FACTOR TO BE CONSIDERED ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE TWO CHILDREN USUALLY WITH ME. I HAD CALLED HONDA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY WERE FAMILIAR WITH IT. IF THEY WERE FAMILIAR WHY DIDN'T THEY INFORM ME OF THAT BEFORE I SPENT $32,000 FOR THE VEHICLE. WHEN I TEST DROVE THE TRUCK I DID NOT FEEL THIS HESITATION AS IT STARTED AFTER I HAD 150 MILES ON IT. THEY TELL ME IT'S DRIVE BY WIRE OR SOMETHING OF THIS NATURE AND BASICALLY HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. *JB
HONDA RIDGELINE 2006 HAS CONSIDERABLE HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING FROM UNDER 10 MPH, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING. I WAS LEAVING THE PARKING LOT OF CONVENIENCE STORE ROLLING AT ABOUT 5 MPH AND THEN TRIED TO ACCELERATE OUT INTO FASTER MOVING TRAFFIC. VEHICLE HESITATED FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS WHICH PUT ME IN A POSITION WHERE CARS ON THE ROADWAY I WAS ENTERING HAD TO BRAKE. HESITATION IS CONSTANT AND CONSISTENT SINCE PURCHASE OF THE TRUCK. NOW I CURRENTLY HAVE 2000 MILES ON VEHICLE. CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAY IT'S NORMAL FOR THE SYSTEM OF "DRIVE BY WIRE". I HAVE ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER WITH SAME VEHICLE, HE HAS NO HESITATION. HONDA REFUSES TO FIX OR AT LEAST LOOK INTO MY PROBLEM AS THEY CONTINUE TO SAY IT'S NORMAL. *JB

MY BRAND NEW, HONDA RIDGELINE PROVIDED A LESS-THAN IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE. WITH A 45 MPH IMPACT TO MY FRONT END - DRIVER SIDE, AND DOOR, MY SEAT BELT KEPT ME FROM SERIOUS INJURY. NOT THE AIRBAG, SINCE THE ONLY ONE THAT DEPLOYED WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE! YES, THE POLICE, PARAMEDIC'S, ACCIDENT INVESTIGATORS AND TOW TRUCK DRIVER WERE ALL WERE CURIOUS ABOUT MY RIDGELINE AND WERE VERY CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON THE SIDE OF IMPACT, THE DRIVER SIDE. HAVING 2 CHILDREN, SIX AND TWO YEARS OLD, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT IS CONSIDERED AS THE SAFEST IN ITS CLASS. I HAVE BEEN LEFT WITH SIGNIFICANT CONCERN OVER ANY OTHER UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS THAT THE HONDA RIDGELINE MAY REVEAL. THIS LEAVES ME RATHER CURIOUS OVER FINDING AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT HAPPENED? WE GOT OUR RIDGELINE ON MARCH 12 A FEW DAYS THAT THEY HAD BEEN OUT, ONLY THE SECOND THAT THE DUVAL HONDA HAD SOLD. AND WE HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT LOVE THAT TRUCK. I TURNED THE HEATER OFF......THE SMELL OF SMOKE STARTED TO GET HEAVIER AND HEAVIER. I LOOKED INTO THE VENT AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SMOKE AND FIRE BILLOWING INSIDE.....NOT SURE WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM...I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK, CALLED FIRE/RESCUE, AND BEGAN TO GET MOST OF THE BELONGINGS THAT I COULD. THE TRUCK WAS FULLY INVOLVED BY TIME FIRE/RESCUE ARRIVED ON SCENE. I MUST SAY THAT, BACK IN SEPTMBER I NOTICED THAT THE RADIO WHICH IS STILL STOCK WAS WIRED INCORRECTLY, I MENTIONED IT THE LAST TIME THAT I TOOK THE BABY IN FOR SERVICING. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE DASH OUT AND HAVE IT RE-WIRED THE CORRECT WAY. AND THAT IT WOULD BE AN ALL DAY AFFAIR, I HAVENT HAD THE TIME TO HAVE THAT DONE, AND MY DEALER DOESNT OFFER LOANER CARS. AM I SAYING THAT THIS IS THE REASON THAT THIS HAPPENED? I AM NOT SURE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A WATER LEAK INSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED THE CARPET PADDING TO MOLD. HE WAS TREATED FOR RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS DUE TO THE MOLD. THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED IN JULY OF 2005 FOR THIS FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 24,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

WHILE DRIVING, SOMETHING FROM THE ROAD PUNCTURED THE FUEL TANK. FUEL POURED FROM THE TANK IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER. THE CONSUMER FELT THE FUEL TANK WAS TOO SOFT IF IT COULD SUSTAIN A HOLE LIKE THE ONE IN IT. *AK *SC *JB
My vehicle was recalled because corrosion can form on the rear frame due to accumulation of road de-icing agents mixed with mud and dirt. The fuel tank, which is mounted to the rear frame, can become unsecured as the rear frame deteriorates from corrosion. An unsecured fuel tank may result in a fuel leak and an increased risk of fire in the presence of an ignition source. Loud noises from the rear of the vehicle can alert you in the event the fuel tank becomes unsecured. I called to make an appointment for the recall on [XXX] and it was dropped of at Williams Honda in Traverse City MI the next day for nearest appointment which was [XXX}. I was notified by Williams Honda on [XXX] that my vehicle failed the inspection and could not be fixed. Williams Honda told me to expect a call from Honda. I never did until I called a week later. I tried to get a loaner vehicle or rental since mine could not be repaired. Honda advised that Williams needed to arrange it and Williams advised that it needed to be approved by Honda. This went back an forth for weeks until Honda advised that I could have a rental if I drove to Williams 2 hours from my house. Honda suggested that I purchase a rental vehicle with my own money and submit for reimbursement with the hopes that I would be made whole. It is now [XXX] and they still have refused to make reasonable accommodations for a rental vehicle and they have not fixed my vehicle. 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE MAJOR PRODUCTION DEFECT.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR OUTSIDE WATER SOMEHOW ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE CHASSIS INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY THE DEALER IS WORKING ON THE VEHICLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE FENDER OF THE CHASSIS WOULD REQUIRE DISASSEMBLING IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE PROBLEM AREA. HE WAS ALSO TOLD THE THIS PROCEDURE INVOLVED SEALING CERTAIN AREA THAT WERE NOT SEALED PROPERLY DURING PRODUCTION. THE CONSUMER HAS SPOKEN WITH OTHER RIDGELINE CONSUMER WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. *NM
