VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES FROM START TIME, WAS STATIONARY AND UNOCCUPIED FOR APPROXIMATELY 10-25 MINUTES. VEHICLE INTERIOR CAUGHT FIRE AT THE BASE OF THE TOP SITTING AREA OF THE REAR SEAT, FLAMES FROM FIRE MELTED THE OVER HEAD INTERIOR LIGHT AND IGNITED A FIRE ON THE HEAD LINER, WHICH CAUSED THE FIRE TO SPREAD UNDER NEATH THE HEADLINER AND ROOF OF THE VEHICLE, MELTING THE EXTERIOR PAINT. THERE WAS NO PRIOR INDICATION OF BURNING WHEN DRIVING OR AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FIRE. FIRE DEPARTMENT ADVISED IT WAS BELIEVED TO BE RELATED TO REAR SEAT HEATERS MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING COMBUSTION THAT LEAD TO AN INTERIOR FIRE. DOORS WERE LOCKED PRIOR TO THE FIRE, AND STORE SURVEILLANCE DIDN'T SHOW ANY SIGNS OF EXTERIOR TAMPERING WITH THE VEHICLE.
AT FIRST THE WASHERS JUST KEPT SPRAYING AND WOULDN'T STOP. I HAD TO TAKE OUT THE FUSE TO GET IT TO STOP. I RECENTLY PUT THE FUSE BACK IN AND NOW IT WON'T WORK. THE WASHERS WILL JUST START SPRAYING OUT OF THE BLUE AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND YOU CAN'T GET IT TO STOP. IT DECREASES YOUR VISIBILITY. I HAVE READ THAT THEY HAVE HAD RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAVE ALOT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ALSO THE HEATING UNIT ON MY DRIVER SEAT RANDOMLY COMES ON BY ITSELF AND WON'T SHUT OFF. I BOUGHT THIS HUMMER USED AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICES BUT I WONDER IF I SHOULD OF. THIS IS DANGEROUS ISSUES. *TR
