1) 1.5 YEARS AGO WE STARTED GETTING "MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 5" CODE AND NOW IT IS MULTIPLE MISFIRES. 2) MY FANCY RIMS ARE PEELING
THE INSIDE CHROME WHEELS OF MY WIFE'S 2006 HUMMER H3 ARE FLAKING OFF AND PEELING. PIECES OF THE DEBRIS COME LOOSE AT ALL TIMES (ESPECIALLY WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION). MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT IT WILL INTERFERE WITH THE BRAKE PADS WHEN THEY ARE NEEDED TO SLOW/STOP THE VEHICLE. SINCE MY WIFE AND CHILDREN ARE IN THIS CAR MORE FREQUENTLY, I DO NOT WANT THIS TO BECOME AN INCIDENT THAT COULD LEAD TO AN AVOIDABLE ACCIDENT. I HAVE PICTURES THAT DETAIL MY CONCERN WITH THE INSIDE OF THE CHROME WHEELS THAT I COULD SEND TO YOU (SHOULD YOU NEED THEM).
TIRE FAILURE, BLOWOUT AT HIGHWAY SPPED. ON MARCH 6, 2010, WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 H3 HUMMER THE LEFT REAR TIRE HAD A CATASTROPIC FAILURE. THE TIRE IS A BRIDGESTONE DUELER A/T RH-S LT 285/75R16 LOAD RANGE C M+S.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HUMMER H3. WHILE DRIVING HE NOTICED THAT THE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD INDICATED LOW PRESSURE IN THE TIRES. THE CONTACT CHECKED THE TIRES, AND NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR HAD LOW TIRE PRESSURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS EXCESSIVE CORROSION IN THE ALLOY OF THE PASSENGER'S REAR WHEEL. THE DEALER DISMOUNTED THE TIRES AND THE CORROSION ADHERED TO THE BEAD OF THE TIRE ,AND 4 INCHES OF THE TIRE STUCK TO THE RIM OF THE TIRE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD PAY TO REPLACE THE TIRE, INCLUDING GRINDING OFF THE CORROSION ON ALL 4 WHEELS. THE CONTACT WANTED NHTSA TO BE AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED DEALER INFORMED HIM TIRE STRIKING AN OBJECT, WHERE TIRED WAS BADLY CORRODED COULD CAUSE BLOW OUT. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED REPAIR INVOICE.
