RIM OF AT LEAST ONE TIRE HAS DISINTEGRATED TO THE POINT OF A HOLE THAT LETS THE AIR OUT OF THE TIRE. A THROUGH HOLE IN THE BODY OF THE RIM.
I WAS TRAVELING (AND LIKELY SLIGHTLY BRAKING) ON A HIGHWAY OFF-RAMP WHEN I SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. IT FELT LIKE THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SEIZED UP, AND THEN THE STEERING COLUMN AND DASH STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING AND THE CAR FISH-TAILED AROUND. I CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE BARRICADE AND ENDING UP FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC -- WHICH COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND THE DRIVER OF THE ONCOMING VEHICLE, WHO ALSO ENDED UP CRASHING. WEATHER / VISIBILITY AND ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR AND DRY, AND THERE WERE NO APPARENT O STRUCTIONS IN THE ROADWAY. AFTER THE CRASH, THE WHEELS MOVED NORMALLY AGAIN AND LOOKED UNAFFECTED.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE USED WITH 36,000 MILES APRIL 2007. IN AUGUST 2007 MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO PULL DRASTICALLY TO THE RIGHT ALL THE TIME. I HAD TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL WITH A TUG TO THE LEFT TO KEEP ON THE ROAD. IF THE WHEEL WAS LET GO I WOULD CRASH INSTANTLY. MANUFACTURE SHOP SAID THE FRONT TIRES WORN AT AN ANGLE WHICH PROMOTED THE PULL TO THE RIGHT. I REPLACED THE TIRES AND NOW HAVE A SLIGHT PULL TO THE LEFT BUT NOT AS BAD. THE MANUFACTURER SHOP STATE NO FRONT END SUSPENSION PROBLEMS NOTED. ALL TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED TO 40 - 44 PSI. TWO TIRES ON THE REAR AND A BRAKE JOB WERE DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM. *TR
