WHEN PUTTING THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISITOR DOWN AT FIRST IT WOULD JUST MAKE A CLICKING SOUND. THEN ONE DAY WOULD NOT GO ALL THE WAY BACK UP. WHEN I CHECKED , ABOVE THE MIRROR ON RIGHT HAND SIDE BY THE ARM, THE WHITE PLASTIC TRIM FOR THE VISOR IS BROKEN SO THE VISOR IS JUST KIND OF HANGING. SOMEWHAT BLOCKS VISION.
Piston slap not covered but known problem
THE AIRBAG LIGHT WON'T GO OFF NOW AFTER MY BATTERY DIED AND WAS RE-CHARGED. I'VE BEEN INFORM THAT THE ISSUES IS SOMETHING WITH THE CLOCK SPRING. MOST OTHER ELANTRAS FROM THIS TIME PERIOD ARE COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING WARRANTY AND I BELIEVE THE SAME EXTENDED WARRANTY SHOULD BE APPLIED TO MY TOURING. THANKS!
AFTER I TURN MY CAR ON, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS GO OFF EXCEPT FOR THE AIRBAG LIGHT. IT CONTINUOUSLY STAYS ON WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN ANY FORM OF MOTION. OCCASIONALLY, IT WILL GO OFF FOR A SECOND OR TWO WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED BUT IT ALWAYS COMES BACK ON AND REMAINS LIT.

The dealer was contacted and the contact was informed that she needed to pay for a diagnostic test on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 40,000. THE AIRBAG ON MY 2012 ELANTRA CAME ON AT 101,000 MILES. TOOK TO DEALERS, THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR WAS BAD. WANTED $1500. TO REPLACE THE SEAT.
AFTER DRIVING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNED ON. THE LIGHT STAYS ON. I WENT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE ISSUE RESOLVED, BUT THEY ARE CHARGING CLOSE TO $400. I AM WORRIED THAT MY AIR BAG SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.
AT ABOUT 100,000 MILES LOGGED ON THE CAR, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. IT WOULD SOMETIMES TURN OFF DURING BUMPS BUT, ULTIMATELY, IT CAME BACK ON AND STAYED ON. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE PIN AND AIRBAG WERE BAD. THEY AREN'T SURE OF THE CAUSE OR HOW IT HAPPENED BUT THE REPAIR (PARTS AND LABOR) IS WELL OVER $1000. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A RECALL RELATED TO THIS AND IT'S NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. THE AIRBAG ISSUE DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY ANYTHING SPECIFIC THAT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
A FEW WEEKS AGO, I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA (114,000 MILES ON IT) AND IT STARTED TO SPUTTER AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 20 MPH AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THERE HAD BEEN A SIMILAR INTERMITTENT PROBELM PRIOR TO THIS. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY DEALER AND ENDED UP WITH A REPLACED COIL PACK ON ONE CYLINDER. ON 11/4/20, I WAS RUN OFF THE INTERSTATE BY A SEMI BECAUSE AS I ENTERED THE HIGHWAY, I COULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 20, AND THEN 40 MPH AND THE TACOMETER REGISERED 0. I TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER WHERE THEY SAID THAT THE "TECH RESET ADAPT.VALUES" ("VALVES" IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME VERBALLY). WELL I LEFT WITH THE CAR AFTER THE SUPPOSED "FIX" AND 1/2 MILE FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THE SAME DE-ACLLERATION OCCURED, AND THIS TIME WHEN I WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP THE MANAGER HAD THE TECH RUN THE DIAGNOSTICS ON ORIGINAL PROBLEM ON HIS IPAD AND TECH SAID THE COIL PACK WAS FINE. THE MANAGER THEN HAD THE TECH RUN ALL SYSTEM COMPUTER CHECKS AND THE SECOND TIME AROUND, AN ERROR POINTED TO THE CRANKSHAFT SO THEY RAN ALL THE COMPUTER UPDATES, WHICH TOOK A GOOD 20 MINUTES, AND SAID THAT LIKELY FIXED THE ISSUE. I THOUGHT THE ISSUE WAS FIXED BUT TODAY, TWO DAYS LATER, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND DROVE IT A FEW MILES AND I NOTICED AGAIN THAT THE TACOMETER WAS NOT WORKING. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I ASKED THEM WHY THEY DIDN'T RUN UPDATES WHEN THE CAR IS IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND HE SAID THEY ONLY DO SO WHEN A PROBLEM IS NOTED. THE INITIAL ISSUE ALMOST GOT ME KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY. AND ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, OTHER DRIVERS OF HYUNDAI VEHICLES ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. SOMEONE WILL BE KILLED IF THIS SAFETY ISSUE ISN'T RESOLVED. THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AS OF TODAY, 11/6/2020 REGARDLESS OF WHAT PRIOR SVC REPORTS UPLOAD STATES.
FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS I HAVE HAD A REOCCURRING ISSUE WITH MY 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. ABOUT 1-3 TIMES A WEEK, MY CAR WILL NOT START. ALL LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC. WORK FINE WHEN KEY IS TURNED TO ON/START POSITION BUT CAR WILL NOT START. IT MAKES ONE CLICK SOUND AND THEN NOTHING. GENERALLY, IF I KEEP TRYING IT WILL EVENTUALLY START. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 10 MINUTES AND SOMETIMES IT TAKES A FEW HOURS. ALONG WITH THIS, ABOUT ONCE A WEEK MY CAR WILL SHIFT GEARS HARD. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC AND OTHERWISE SHIFTS FINE. I HAVE HAD ROUTINE MAINTENANCE COMPLETED ON TIME SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2016. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND HE CANNOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR DOES NOT DO THIS REGULARLY. I READ ONLINE THAT IT COULD BE THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH (RANGE INHIBITOR) SO I REPLACED THAT. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I CONTACTED THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I PURCHASED MY CAR AND THEY HAVE NO ANSWERS.
MY 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA WOULD STALL AT STOP SIGNS AND LIGHTS. IT WOULD STOP AND START AGAIN.. I WENT TO HYUNDAI TO CHECK IT OUT AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. THE NEXT DAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND TURNING OFF THE HIGHWAY MY CAR STALLED OUT AND WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THE BRAKES WERE HARD TO PRESS. USING ALL MY WEIGHT I GOT IT TO COME TO A STOP. IT WOULD NOT CRANK. I TRIED ABOUT THREE TIMES TO CRANK IT WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE GAS. IT EVENTUALLY ALLOWED ME TO CHANGE GEARS REALLY QUICK AND TAKE OFF. I MADE IT 5 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD TO THE HOUSE BUT IT STALLED AS I PARKED. NOW IT WON'T CRANK AT ALL. FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I'VE BEEN TRYING TO CRANK IT. I'VE HAD THE FUEL PUMP, THE SPARK PLUGS, THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR, AND THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CHANGED AND IT STILL ISN'T CRANKING
CAR WAS PARKED AND COMPLETELY OFF. I PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND TURNED IT PARTWAY. ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AND HEADLIGHTS CAME ON. I TURNED THE KEY ALL THE WAY AND IT WOULD NOT START. THERE WAS A LOUD RYTHMIC CLICKING AND EACH TIME IT CLICKED ALL THE ELECTRONICS FLICKERED. JUMPING THE BATTERY DID NOT WORK.
1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR BRAKES MESSED UP THEN RODORS THEN BEARINGS. AIRBAG AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEEL LIGHT. I PUT OVER 1000 AND $200 IN THIS CAR WITHIN FOUR MONTHS
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. MY TIRE WAS FLAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN A DESERT AND I TURNED THE CAR OFF TO CHANGE MY TIRE. I TRIED TO START MY VEHICLE AND ALL ACCESSORIES TURN ON AND THE CAR UNLOCKS WITH THE ELECTRIC KEY FOB BUT THE CAR DOESN'T START. INHIBITOR SWITCH IS BAD IS FAULTY. IT STARTS SOMETIMES AND DOESN'T START AT SOMETIMES. MANY PEOPLE HAVE BECOME STRANDED DUE TO THIS DEFECT AND HAVE REPORTED IT ON CAR GURU AND MANY OTHER HYUNDAI FORUMS. EVERYONE BELIEVES THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS FAULTY ISSUE.
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING FAILURES FROM MY SPEED CONTROL. IT MOVES SLOW ON IT OWN REGARDLESS OF HOW HIGH THE METER SAYS. WHEN BRAKING THE CAR SHAKES AND THEN ON ITS OWN IT GOES OFF AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD COMES ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON RECENTLY AND NOW MY CAR VIBRATES/ SHAKES WHEN IDLE OR WHEN IT STARTS.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. RECENTLY REPLACED BATTERY SO IT COULD JUST BE SOME CONNECTION OR ELECTRICAL ISSUE. DEALERS CLAIM IT'S $200 JUST TO CHECK. THIS SHOULD BE A FREE FIX EVEN IF OUT OF WARRANTY.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT AND THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT SUSTAINED INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOW IMPOUND LOT DUE TO THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING AND WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE. THE DEALER NOR MANUFACTURE WERE CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100.
I LIVE IN MISSOURI WHERE THEY STILL HAVE VEHICLE INSPECTIONS TO RENEW TAGS FOR LEGALLY DRIVING. GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND STARTED IT I THEN TRY TO USE THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS TO CHANGE RADIO STATION WOULD NOT WORK THEN TRIED THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE A PHONE CALL AND IT WOULDN'T WORK THEN I TRIED THE HORN AND IT WOULD NOT WORK. I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM AND WHAT I FOUND IS THAT IT'S WHATS CALLED THE AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING SO THERE FOR THE AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT I HAVE RESEARCHED THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE AND WITH THIS ISSUE IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION IN MY STATE

THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.

SEVERAL MONTHS AGO THE CAR ALARM WENT OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON (THE CAR WAS SITTING IN OUR GARAGE AND NO ONE WAS ATTEMPTING TO STEAL IT). WHEN IT WENT OFF IT WAS VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING...LIKE 2 OR 3 AM. WE TRIED EVERYTHING WE KNEW TO TRY TO SHUT IT UP...FINALLY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. WE TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER WHERE WE WERE LATER TOLD THAT ONE OF THE MANY SENSORS HAD GONE BAD AND THEY WOULD ORDER A REPLACEMENT PART. THAT SEEMED TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM INITIALLY...BUT A FEW MONTHS LATER THE ALARM WENT OFF AGAIN AT 2 OR 3 AM FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WE CALLED THE DEALER AND WERE TOLD THEY HAD NO AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS FOR TWO WEEKS. WE WAITED THE TWO WEEKS WHILE THE CAR SAT UNUSED AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE BATTERY AND THEN BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER. THIS TIME THEY HAD THE CAR FOR MOST OF A WEEK SAYING THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ALARM DISCHARGING. WE FINALLY JUST PICKED UP THE DEFECTIVE CAR...AND THAT VERY SAME DAY...AGAIN AT 2 AM, THE ALARM WENT OFF AGAIN. MY HUSBAND TRIED EVERYTHING HE WAS TOLD TO TRY TO SHUT IT UP...NOTHING WORKED. SO, HE WENT TO AGAIN DISCONNECT THE BATTERY...BUT THE DEALER HAD TIGHTENED THE CABLES TO THE BATTERY TOO TIGHTLY. AFTER SPENDING AN HOUR AND HALF A CAN OF WD40 WE WERE ABLE TO DISCONNECT ONLY THE POSITIVE CABLE TO THE BATTERY...AND THERE IT HAS SAT FOR NEARLY A MONTH...UNUSED AND DISCONNECTED. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI DIRECTLY AND THEY SEEM UNABLE MUCH ADVICE OTHER THAN 'TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER OR BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND ASK THEM TO TRY AGAIN.' WE WOULD LIKE TO JUST GET RID OF THIS CAR BUT COULD NOT SELL IT IN GOOD FAITH WITH THIS CURRENT PROBLEM...SO IT IS BOTH UNUSABLE AND NOT WORTH MUCH AS A TRADE IN.
MY CAR IS RATTLING WHEN AN IDOL. IT SOUNDS CLUNKY, THAT'S THE BEST WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT. IT DOES IT AT A STOP SIGN, STOP LIGHT, IN PARK AND IN PLACE.
THE DASH CONSOLE CONTINUES TO GO GO OUT TO THE POINT THE ODOMETER, SPEED , MILEAGE AND OTHER INSTRUMENT PANEL INFORMATION IS NOT VISIBLE. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THEY REPLACED THE DASH CONSOLE AND 2 YRS LATER IS NEEDING REPLACEMENT AGAIN.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP A PULSATING MOTION, SIMILAR TO A WARPED BRAKE ROTOR, WAS FELT. THE STEERING FLEX COUPLER PARTIALLY DISINTEGRATED CAUSING APPROX. 1/4 TURN SLACK IN STEERING WHEEL. COUPLER WAS REPLACED ON 8/5/2020. I DID NOT SUFFER ANY DAMAGE,BUT I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE THAT THIS DESIGN IS FAR MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE TOYOTA AIR BAG DESIGN.
AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINS ON ALL THE TIME, TURNED ON AND NEVER TURNED OFF.
UPON EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND COLLECTED COMPLAINTS, I HAVE DISCOVERED A DEFECT IN THE 2012 HYUNDAI ELEANTRA AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT. IT WILL NOT PROVIDE A CODE ON ODM READER TO IDENTIFY THE SPECIFIC CAUSE OF THE AIRBAG LIGHT.
INTERMITTENT AIRBAG LIGHT ON.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENS TO ME. THE EPS LIGHT TURNS ON, THE STEERING WHEEL GETS TIGHT. SO THE POWER STEERING DISCONNECTS FROM THE ENGINE. YOU LITERALLY CAN'T STEER. THIS LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING DOWN A GRADE AT NIGHT. IF INCOMING TRAFFIC WOULD OF BEEN COMING I WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THEM OR GO DOWN THE CLIFF. THE POWER STEERING WAS REPLACED ONCE BY DEALER ALREADY LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. THIS CAR IS UN SAFE AND I REFUSE TO DRIVE IT ANY MORE. I WAS ABLE TO PUSH IT IN NEUTRAL TO THE SHOULDER ONCE I PUT IT IN PARK THE CAR SHOOK AND IT SHUT DOWN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS FRIEND WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN THE STOP LIGHT AND CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A TREE IN AN OPEN FIELD OF FRUIT TREES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATORS. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES, INCLUDING WHIPLASH, BRUISES AND LOWER BACK PAINS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED AWAY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED IF THE CONTACT PROVIDED NECESSARY INFORMATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 246,000. *DT *TR
SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS CAR WITH ZERO MILES IT WOULD RANDOMLY CUT OFF AND IT WOULD DO THAT EVEN WHEN IN DRIVE LIKE IT WASNT GETTING GAS. IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER THEN AFTER 20-30 MIN IT WOULD START RIGHT BACK UP AND THIS STARTED RIGHT AWAY AND HAS DONE THAT EVER SINCE. I ALSO HAD THE O2 CENSOR REPLACED AS WELL. THE TIRES ARE AWFUL THE SUSPENSION IS EVEN WORSE THEN MY AIR BAG LIGHT CUT ON OUT OF NOWHERE AND NOW MY STEERING COLUMN IS TOTALLY MESSED UP. DIRECTLY BEHIND THE AIRBAG. IT CLACKS BACK N FORTH AS YOU MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL EVEN EVER SO SLIGHTLY. IF I HIT MY BRAKES THE WHEEL SHAKES AND THE COLUMN RATTLES AND CLACKS, IF I GO OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD OR RR TRACKS SAME THING, THE ENTIRE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND RATTLES AND CLANKS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THREE DIFFERENT SHOPS THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AND DESIGN. THE STEERING COLUMN WAS POORLY DESIGNED AND IS GOING TO BREAK IF I DONT HAVE IT REPLACED. THE COST TO HAVE THIS DONE IS ALMOST $1000 AND IT SHOULDNT BE AN ISSUE I HAVE TO PAY FOR BC OF THE POOR DESIGN. THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING DONE TO THE CAR ON MY END TO CAUSE THIS AND I NEED HELP ASAP BC ITS MY ONLY CAR AND I DO NOT HAVE $1000 TO PAY TO FIX A BAD STEERING COLUMN THAT SHOULDNT BE BREAKING TO BEGIN WITH!
AIR BAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED ENGINE HAS A CONTINUAL LOUD TICKING NOISE SUCH AS LIFTERS NOTED APPROPRIATELY 60,000 MILES . VEHICLE IS STILL COVERED BY 10/100,000 WARRANTY YET DEALER DENIES ANY ISSUES WITH THE MOTOR. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE IN CALIFORNIA WITH A PENDING CLASS ACTION LITIGATION, BUT NOT HERE IN NYS
SLACK IN THE STEERING WHEEL, WITH VEHICLE RUNNING OR TURNED OFF. MAKES A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN TURNED EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT.
WHEN I'M DRIVING AND I COME TO A STOP MY CAR WOULD MAKE CLANKING NOISES I TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AND IT WOULD STOP. WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR AN OIL CHANGE I CHANGED MY OIL AND ONE NIGHT I'M DRIVING HOME AND IT MAKES THE CLANKING NOISE AGAIN ALONG WITH A BURNT SMELL I PULL OVER TURN MY CAR OFF TURN BACK ON IT STILL CLANKING AND HAS CLANKED EVER SINCE. I TOWED MY CAR HOME AND HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT AGAIN BECAUSE WHEN INSPECTING IT, WE NOTICED MY OIL LEVEL WAS PERFECT BUT TIMING CHAIN WAS EXTREMELY LOOSE AND METAL SHAVINGS IN MY OIL.

AFTER IT RAINS, ( IN MOTION OR STANDING STILL ) WATER COMES THROUGH THE LIGHT ABOVE SUN VISOR, SOAKS THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR FRONT AND BACK, AND GOES INTO DASH THIS IS CAUSING CORROSION TO ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE DASH COULD CAUSE FAILURE TO DEVICES AND A FIRE HAZARD. THE TOUCHSCREEN WENT BLACK, SO I PULLED THE FUSE ONLY TO NOTICE THE FUSES HAD CORROSION. MY FEET GET SOAKED MAKING THE PEDALS SLIPPERY. I DID RESEARCH ONLINE ONLY TO REALIZE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE WATER ON THE FLOOR HAS SOAKED THROUGH THE CARPET AND PAD TO ABOUT 1/2" OF WATER AT THE HIGHEST POINT. THIS COULD CAUSE MOLD AND MILDEW TO BE CIRCULATED THROUGH THE CAR. THE CAR HAS GOTTEN CONDENSATION ON THE WINDSHIELD AFTER IT RAINS AND THE SUN COMES OUT. THE MOISTURE INSIDE THE VEHICLE IS STARTING TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO ALL ELECTRONICS.

ONE DAY I NOTICED THAT MY STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE AND IT WAS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE. ONE ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE I WAS DRIVING, MY VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A MINOR ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION (BECAUSE MY FLAT TIRE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR YEARS AND I NEVER KNOW WHEN I REALLY HAVE A FLAT), SO I IGNORED IT UNTIL I WENT TO USE MY HORN TO ALERT AN APPROACHING VEHICLE OF MY PRESENCE, AND IT DIDN'T WORK. IT HASN'T WORKED PROPERLY SINCE. IF I USE MY KEYS TO LOCK THE DOOR IT WILL BEEP, BUT IF I ATTEMPT TO USE THE HORN ITSELF I GET NOTHING.

FRONT COIL SPRING (DRIVERS SIDE) FAILED, RIPPING TIRING OPEN. LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED SOME TIME AFTER I PARKED AT A SUPERMARKET CAUSING NO PERSONAL INJURY. I DID SEE ON-LINE THAT THE 2011 ELANTRA HAD A RECALL FOR SIMILAR PROBLEM
BRAKE LINES GET CORRODED BY THE HOLDING BRACKET SCREWS PROBABLY BECAUSE OF NOT WATER RESISTANT TYPE OF METAL AND START LEAKING.
SO MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED MAKING A STRANGE POPPING NOISE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. EVERYTIME I WOULD TURN MY STEERING WHEEL AT A CERTAIN ANGLE THE WHEEL WOULD POP. AS I DROVE THE CAR IT WOULD CONTINUE TO MAKE THIS AWFUL NOISE UNTIL ONE DAY IM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT POPPED AND THE STEERING JERKED MY CAR OUT OF THE LANE . DRIVING HOME THE WHEEL WAS RATHER STIFF AND I WORRIED CONSTANTLY ABOUT GETTING IN AN ACCIDENT . MY REASON FOR THE STEERING ISSUE IS I WORRY SOMEONE WILL BE DRIVING THE CAR AND IT JERK THEM INTO A CAR COMING FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD WHICH WILL RESULT IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. SECOND ISSUE IS THE ELECTRONICAL SYSTEM IN GENERAL. EVERYTIME I START MY CAR IT DOESNT START ALL THE WAY AND IT DIES OUT MID DRIVING ., I ENDED UP PULLING OUT OF AN UP HILL PARKING LOT AND NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP THE CAR AT THE STOP SIGN BECAUSE THE CAR DIED OUT AFTER I HAD IT IN DRIVE. I HAD TO PULL UP AND BUMP THE CURB IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHILE LEAVING THE PARKING LOT. I AM NOT SURE IF ITS DEALING WITH THE IGNITION IN GENERAL BUT THAT WOULD DEFINATLEY BE A SAFTEY CONCERN. MY OTHER ISSUE IS THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. AFTER A CERTAIN MILAGE THE LIGHT CAME ON AND I CAN NOT GET ANY MECHANIC TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO FIX IT OVER FEAR OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND HAVING TO TOTAL THE VEHICLE UPON REPAIR. I AM SERIOUSLY TERRIFIED IF I GET INTO A VEHICLE ACCIDENT THE AIR BAGS WONT GO OFF AT ALL AND IT WILL RESULT IN EITHER A REALLY SEVERE INJURY OR EVEN BE FATAL FROM AIRBAG FAILURE .
DASH DISPLAY OF ODOMETER/MPG/ET CETERA NO LONGER IS READABLE DUE TO DIM OR MISSING DIGITS. THIS WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL SEVERAL YEARS AGO BUT HAS RECURRED. I NO LONGER CAN SEE NECESSARY INFORMATION ABOUT THE CAR'S EQUIPMENT OR DRIVABILITY STATUS. THIS OCCURS AT ALL TIMES, DRIVING OR STATIONARY.

CLUNKING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT. THIS HAPPENS WHILE BEING STATIONARY AS WELL AS IN MOTION. THERE IS A MINOR BIT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL AS WELL. AFTER RESEARCHING IT APPEARS TO BE THE STEERING WHEEL FLEXIBLE COUPLER. I WILL BE REPLACING IT AND GIVING FEEDBACK ON THE OUTCOME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE DRIVER WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V393000 (EQUIPMENT). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
