There are 3 stored owner reports matching the suspension leading-label group for the 2018 Hyundai Elantra in our NHTSA-sourced dataset. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
This group counts stored reports whose component label starts with one of this site's matching prefixes, ignoring case. Each matching report counts once within the group. Components mentioned later in the label or only in the narrative are not searched. How component counts work

Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNING RIGHT OVER UNEVEN SURFACES (OR BUMPS), THE VEHICLE MAKES CRUNCHING/CREAKING SOUNDS THAT MAY SUGGEST SUSPENSION ISSUES OR FEAR OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE. DEALER DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE AND UNABLE TO REPAIR. IT WOULD APPEAR RELATED TO ENGINE MOUNT RUBBER THAT CAN REDUCE NOISE IF APPLYING LUBRICATING SPRAYS, BUT UNSURE IF ANY AFFECT TO VEHICLE SAFETY.
WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED TO ITS FAR RIGHT EXTREME, THE FRONT SUSPENSION EMITS A LOUD CREAKING NOISE WHEN THERE IS AN INCLINE, SUCH AS ENTERING A PARKING LOT ENTRANCE OR DRIVEWAY. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I HEAR THE CREAKING NOISE. THIS CONCERNS ME BECAUSE I'M AFRAID THE NOISE INDICATES A FAILING OR FAULTY SUSPENSION COMPONENT, WHICH COULD POSSIBLY LEAD TO LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL SHOULD THE FAULTY PART FAIL WITH THE VEHICLE IN MOTION.
SINCE MY CAR HAD 7,000 MILES, I AM EXPERIENCING A CREAKING SOUND AROUND FRONT WHEELS WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEED, MORE SO WHEN ON UNEVEN PAVEMENT.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
