TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED IN THE IGNITION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GANLEY PARMA HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 7115 BROOKPARK RD, PARMA, OH 44129, (216) 749-2525), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE. THE DAY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE CONTACT NOTICED RIPPLES ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE QUARTER PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEPT AND REPAIRED IT FOR TWO WEEKS. SHORTLY AFTER SHE RETRIEVED HER VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED A SEVERE VIBRATION WHEN DRIVING OVER 55 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO BENT RIMS. THE TIRES AND RIMS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NEVER FULLY CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE HAS SINCE BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, BUT THEY STATED THAT NOTHING ELSE COULD BE DONE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
NEW VEHICLE WITH FRONT END VIBRATION/SHIMMY..EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE ABOVE 70 MPH, THE ENTIRE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES. ALL CONTENTS AND PASSENGERS IN MINIVAN VIBRATE OR SHAKE. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES. TOTAL OF 12 DAYS. THE 1ST 4 DAYS THEY CHANGED TIRES AND RE-ALIGNED ALL 4 TIRES. DROVE VEHICLLE BACK 3 DAYS LATER. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR 8 DAYS AND CHANGED AXLE WITH A USED VEHICLE WITH OVER 5000 MILES ON IT, HOPING THAT THE AXLE WAS THE PROBLEM. DROVE FOR 10 MINUTES, STILL VIBRATES ENTIRE VEHICLE FROM 10 MPH AND HIGHER. TEST DROVE BRAND NEW 0 MILES...WENT 30 MILES AND IT ALSO VIBRATES/SHIMMY. *NM
MY ENTOURAGE EXHIBITS INTERMITTENT SIGNIFICANT LOW-SPEED ENGINE BRAKING WHEN DRIVING IN THE AUTO 'DRIVE' POSITION. THIS BRAKING EFFECT IS SIMILAR IN EFFECT TO THE ACTUAL LIGHT APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES. THIS WAS IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER UPON PURCHASE DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX BY PERFORMING TRANSMISSION RE-PROGRAMMING. THIS HAS MODIFIED THE BEHAVIOR TO MAKE THE OCCURRENCE OF THIS MUCH MORE INTERMITTENT, BUT STILL NOT FIXED IT. I HAVE TWO SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THIS. THE FIRST IS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER DRIVER ONCE, AND THAT WAS ON DRY PAVEMENT. THIS VEHICLE ACTUALLY PERFORMS A BRAKING FUNCTION WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF THE VEHICLES BRAKE LIGHTS BEING DISPLAYED. WE LIVE IN WISCONSIN WHERE THE ROAD CONDITIONS GET ICY DURING THE WINTER. THE BRAKING IS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH THAT I'M CONCERNED ABOUT IT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ENTER AN UNCONTROLLED SKID ON ICY ROADS, PARTICULARLY IN CONDITIONS OF APPROACHING INTERSECTIONS REQUIRING A STOP OR YIELD AND ALSO WHEN EXITING HIGHWAY RAMPS WHICH CAN BECOME VERY SLIPPERY. HYUNDAI AND DEALER HAVE BOTH NOW DECIDED THIS IS 'NORMAL', EVEN THOUGH IT IS VERY INTERMITTENT. HYUNDAI WILL NO LONGER ADDRESS THIS. THE VEHICLE OPERATES TO COAST IN A SAFE MANNER ABOUT HALF THE TIME THE GAS PEDAL IS RELEASED, WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF DOING SO ALL THE TIME. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE ENGINE/POWERTRAIN THAT CAN BE AFFECTED BY PROGRAMMING, BUT HYUNDAI WILL NO LONGER ADDRESS AND HAS LEFT ME WITH NO RECOURSE FOR RESOLVING AS THEY WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THIS AS A VALID PROBLEM. THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION MODULES DO NOT DISPLAY ANY PROBLEM CODES FOR THIS, SO HYUNDAI'S STANCE IS IT IS NOT A PROBLEM. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SLIDING DOORS ON HER VEHICLE WOULD NOT REMAIN CLOSED. ON ONE OCCASION, THE DRIVER'S DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED. SHE PUSHED VARIOUS BUTTONS ON THE DOOR IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP IT CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY REPLACED THE LATCHING MECHANISMS AND SLIDING DOOR LOCK MODULES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO PERSIST. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD BRING IN A MECHANIC FROM CALIFORNIA WHO WOULD DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND THEY WOULD NOT RETURN THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,017 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100. UPDATE 10/01/08 *CW THE POWER SLIDING DOOR, DID NOT OPEN OR CLOSE. TWO FAILURES OF THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH SINCE PURCHASE OF 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE ON OCT 20, 2006. FIRST TIME, BRAKE LIGHTS DID NOT WORK, NEXT TIME BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND COMPLETELY DRAINED BATTERY. THIRD SWITCH NOW INSTALLED. *JB
I PURCHASED A 2007 HYUNDAI ACCENT SE FROM A DEALERSHIP IN CHICAGO. THEY DROVE THE VEHICLE FROM MADISON WISCONSIN, SO WHEN I PURCHASED IT, IT HAD 240 MILES. WITHIN THE FIRST DAY OF DRIVING, I CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. WHEN PUT INTO GEAR, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OR MOVE ANYWHERE. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE CLUTCH HAS FAILED, AND POSSIBLY DAMAGED THE TRANSMISSION. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED ON THE CONSOLE, A CHROME PLATE COVERED THE SECTION WHERE THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS LOCATED. WHEN THE SUN SHINED, IT REFLECTED INTO THE CONTACTS EYES MAKING IT HARD TO SEE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. *AK UPDATED 11/0/906.*JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE. WHILE TRAVELING DOWNHILL AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS SHINE ON THE GROUND. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SEE IN FRONT OF HER. THE DEALER ADJUSTED THE HEADLIGHTS, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTS. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE TO ANYONE!! WE PURCHASED OUR NEW ENTOURAGE IN JULY 2006, MY FIRST PROBLEMS STARTED OCCURING IN AUGUST 2006 AND HAVE YET TO CEASE! I HAVE BEEN IN A LOANER CAR MORE THAN I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR SINCE WE PURCHASED IT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING LONG DISTANCES IN MY ENTOURAGE ANYMORE, NOT KNOWING WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. SOME OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD : LUMBAR SUPPORT "BLEW OUT", DOOR LOCK ACUATOR WENT OUT, TIMING BELT HAD TO BE REPLACED, BUTTON ON UPPER CONSOLE ANNOYING RATTLE, ABS LIGHT COMES ON, AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON, TPMS PROBLEMS, BACK OF DRIVERS SEAT FALLING OFF, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS CAME ON REPEATEDLY AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN STRANDED TWICE (LUCKILY I DIDN'T HAVE MY THREE YEAR OLD IN THE CAR AT THE TIME), WAS CAUSED BY DIFFERENT THINGS EACH TIME. DROPPED VEHICLE OFF THIS MORNING, SINCE GETTING MY CAR BACK THE LAST TIME, WHICH THEY HAD FOR OVER TWO WEEKS AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FOR ONE DAY BEFORE PROBLEM OCCURED AGAIN, MY CAR HAS BEEN VIBRATING A LOT WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ETC. (ANYTIME I HAVE TO USE THE BRAKE) I HAVE TO HOLD ON TIGHT TO THE STEERING WHEEL BECAUSE THE VIBRATION IS SO BAD. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TODAY AND DROVE WITH MANAGER, SAYING THAT THE PROBLEM IS MY ROTORS. WHEN I ASKED WHAT CAUSED THE ROTORS TO DO THAT, I WAS TOLD THAT DRIVING THROUGH A PUDDLE OF WATER OR HAVING TO BRAKE SUDDENLY WOULD DO IT AND THAT WAS WITH ALL CARS NOT JUST MY ENTOURAGE. WELL, THIS ISN'T THE 1ST CAR THAT I HAVE OWNED OVER THE YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBELM. TOO MANY PROBLEMS FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE TO BE HAVING. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. EVERYONE STATES THAT HYUNDAI HAS THE "BEST WARRANTY" - I DIDN'T KNOW THAT MEANT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING FIXED EVERY MONTH. IF I DIDN'T HAVE THE WARRANTY, THEN I GUESS MY ENTOURAGE WOULD BE SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SOMEWHERE. HAVING TO DEAL WITH BBB AUTO LINE. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
WE HAVE AN 07 ENTOURAGE LIMITED WITH A NUMBER OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ,LEFT SIDE SLIDING DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN WITH THE REMOTE, DEALER REPAIRED WITH A NEW DOOR SENSOR,NOW THE DEALER IS KEEPING IT OVER NIGHT BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM WITH THE SAME DOOR WHEN CLOSING AND THEN REOPENING AS SOON AS IT LATCHES,PUT A NEW LATCH ON AND STILL HAVING PROBLEMS SO THEY ARE KEEPING IT OVER NIGHT,RADIO AND SEAT LOOSES MEMORY BUT IT'S SPORADIC SO NO WAY FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND THE PROBLEM,REAR HATCH CLOSED THEN REOPENED BUT HASN'T RECENTLY .THE TRANS. HAS A SHUTTER WHEN SHIFTING AT TIMES BUT HAVE NOT REPORTED AT THIS TIME DUE TO BEING SPORADIC. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN GREAT .BUT THIS LIMITED ENTOURAGE HAS SOME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT COULD BECOME SERIOUS. MSRP WAS $33,620.00 WHEN WE BOUGHT IT IN JULY 06 NOW SELLING FOR ABOUT $29000.00 THE FIRST PROBLEMS STARTED SURFACING ABOUT A MONTH AFTER BUYING IT NOW JAN. 07 STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. *JB
MY 2007 HYUNDAI SONATA SE HAS A SERIOUS FRONT END SHIMMY AT 44 MPH. IT SEEMS, PER CHAT ROOMS AND WEBSITES, THAT THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I DROVE ANOTHER CAR AND IT HAD THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM. DEALER HAS CHECKED AND BALANCED ETC.. BUT NOT HELP. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE 2007 HYUNDAI SONATA WHEN EQUIPPED WITH THE 17" WHEELS AND LOW PROFILE TIRES. *JB
POWER SLIDING DOOR AND OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ON A 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE. MULTIPLE REPLACED PARTS TO INCLUDE BATTERY (AFTER 24 MONTHS OF USE), HORNS, POWER WINDOW SWITCH, AC/FAN CLUTCH, BLOWN ENGINE OIL SEAL, TENSIONER, ECM WITH RELAY, BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WITH BRAKE LIGHTS, ETC. NO HELP OR CONCERN FROM DEALERSHIP OTHER THAN "WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS ISSUE BEFORE" OR "ALL OF THESE PARTS ARE UNDER WARRANTY, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT USE TO DO". *TR
