Brakes went completely out while driving, absolutely terrifying. Pedal went straight to the floor and wouldn't stop. I had to manually downshift until it was under 5 mph and then it would barely stop.

vehicle makes loud rattling noise on startup, while driving engine stalls upon checking engine it continues to run but belts do not turn n has no power. Also steering rack leaks as well as steering pump, has water in tail lens, evaporating system check engine light is on. Vehicle was diagnosed by repair shop n referred to take to dealer ... the problems was confirmed by independent service center
The brakes on my 2010 Genesis Coupe suddenly stopped working while on the freeway, luckily I was able to swerve into the carpool lane and avoid an accident. Upon taking it to Tuttle Click Hyundai I was told a master technician had to review it, which would cost $200 just to look at it. When the technician looked at the car, I was told it needed a new Brake Booster. Hyundai apparently no longer makes this part so the dealership had to locate an aftermarket replacement which costs about $1,100. I did note to the dealership that there was recalls on other 2010 Genesis cars for similar issues, but was told the recall was for the sedans, not the coupe and that they/Hyundai would not cover it. Upon installing the brake booster and bleeding the brakes, it was found that I also need a new ABS Module, which will cost up to $4,000 to find and install. Another user posted this same issue to the NHTSA in October 2022.
The 2.0T engine failed and the vehicle is currently at Hyundai service department waiting on my warranty company to do an inspection of the engine. My safety was at risk as the engine failed during normal operation of the vehicle on a busy city street near a blind curve which other vehicles travel at high rates of speed. Hyundai Service department has confirmed the engine has failed which it needs to be replaced/rebuilt. Hyundai Service department has inspected the vehicle. Waiting on inspection from warranty company. There were no warning lights or symptoms prior to the engine failure. Thankfully I was not operating the vehicle on the expressway as I normally do on my way home which could have put me in a much more dangerous scenario when the engine failed. When the engine failed it started to effect other components in the vehicle, as I started to completely lose the ability to maneuver the vehicle putting myself in a dangerous situation.
While driving, throttle stuck wide open. It was like I was flooring the gas pedal. I managed to pull over and stop vehicle. I restarted and was able to drive home.
On September 22, 2022 while traveling at about 65 mph on state highway 57 in CA, I came upon a sudden group of cars hitting their brakes and had to slam on my brakes but my 2010 Genesis Coupe did not stop and I had to swerve into an entrance lane on my right to avoid a serious collision. Fortunately there were no cars entering the highway on that entrance. I was then able to drive a short distance home. On May 26, 2022 I had my car serviced including the brakes by Service Auto Care and my car gave me no brake problems until this incident. On September 23 I brought my Genesis Coupe to Service Auto and explained what happened. The brakes worked fine on the way to the shop. They tested the brakes and said that the ABS module was defective but it was just put under a 15 year extended warranty by Hyundai on May 19, 2022 and to take it to the closest dealer. The dealer, Russell Westbrook Hyundai of Anaheim told me only the sedan was covered. This dangerous defect could occur at any time and cause a severe accident. I hope this report is helpful to the NHTSA and the defective part is replaced without charge. The dealership charged me $205 for an estimate, then wanted $2200 to re-do the brakes and then approximately $4000 to replace the ABS module. I have documents to back up everything I have presented.

The contact stated that after parking and exiting the vehicle, moments later after returning to the vehicle it was discovered that the driver’s and passenger’s side headrest restraint had deployed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure and indicated that the headrest needed to be replaced but no further assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 125,000
The contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Genesis. The contact's wife stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the air bag warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he noticed that prior to the warning light being illuminated, a tear that had formed under the "SRS Air Bag" badge on the passenger’s side. The contact stated that the air bag warning light continually remained illuminated. The vehicle had not been taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V722000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 196,000.
The contact owns a 2010 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE . The contact stated that while driving his vehicle, his brake system started to make noise and became unresponsive. The contact stated that he then drove his vehicle to the dealer to have his brakes changed. The contact stated that the dealer changed both brakes and, rotors , front and rear, however the failure still exist. The contact stated the dealer advised him of the recall on the same year, make , and model vehicle that was experiencing the same failure NHTSA campaign 13V489000 (SERVICE BRAKES,HYDRAULC). The contact stated that he was advised that the HECU needed to be replaced. The contact stated that he then contacted the manufacturer who advised him that his vehicle was not apart of the recall. The contact stated since then his vehicle remains with the dealer who adivised him to contact NHTSA. The mileage failure was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The contact stated that while attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal traveled to the floor and the stopping distance was extended. To stop the vehicle the brake pedal had to be pumped multiple times. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were both contacted regarding the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V489000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 79,000.
While attempting to brake on exit ramp off an interstate highway, the brake pedal was depressed almost to the floorboard with minimal slowing. The brakes were pumped several times with slowing vehicle speed. Fortunately, the exit ramp was long enough to allow a safe stop. Pedal remains soft and spongy. No warning lights are on. Brakes functioned normally until this incident at 138,200 miles. However, master cylinder was replaced at 102,000 miles for a similar problem at an independent auto shop. The contact stated that he attempted to activate the parking brake however, the parking brake failed to engage. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer to be diagnosed and was informed that the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,763.
THE VEHICLE BRAKE LIGHTS STOP WORKING. THE CAR WILL NOT START NORMALLY AND WILL NOT SHIFT NORMALLY. A FUSS WILL FAIL OVER AND OVER AGAIN. HYUNDAI DEALER IDENTIFIED THAT THE HECU IS FAULTY.
VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOSES ACCELERATION AND DROPS TO A MAXIMUM SPEED OF 20 MPH. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON BUT GOES AWAY AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE CAR AND LEAVING IT ON STANDBY FOR A FEW MINUTES. OCCURS EVERY FEW HUNDREDS MILES. IT'S HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION, BOTH ON THE STREET AND HIGHWAY.
BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY BECOMES SOFT. FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED 10/15/19. PROBLEM CORRECTED FOR THREE MONTH. PEDAL SUDDENLY VERY SOFT WITHOUT WARNING. CAR WILL STOP BUT NOT AS EXPECTED. DANGEROUS IF NOT ANTICIPATED. DIAGNOSED AS HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE. ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR $3800.
WHILE DRIVING MY GENESIS 2010 SEDAN, THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THEN THE POWER STEERING DID NOT RESPOND. I WAS ABOUT 1/2 MILES FROM MY HOUSE AND I HAD TO WRESTLE WITH MY STEERING WHEEL UNTIL I GOT HOME. THE SCARY PART WAS THAT I UNEXPECTEDLY LOST POWER STEERING DURING A TURN AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. LUCKILY, NO ON COMING TRAFFIC WAS NEAR AS I COMPLETED THE TURN ON THE OPPOSITE SLIDE OF THE STREET. I FORTUNATELY ARRIVE HOME, PARKED THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE MECHANICS. I LEARNED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT AND SO DID THE BATTERY. LUCKLY, DURING THE TURN I DID NOT CRASH, BUT IT WAS VERY NERVOUS THE REST OF THE WAY.
I WAS DRIVING IN A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT AND WENT OVER A SPEED BUMP AT MAYBE 2 MILES AN HOUR AND BOTH MY FRONT HEADREST DISCHARGED.
TEMPORARY SPARE HAS A SPLIT IN THE TREAD AREA. NEVER USED. TOOK IT OUT TO CLEAN TRUNK AND NOTICED A FLAT SPOT ON THE TREAD AND THEN THE TEAR.

DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE GOING AROUND CURVE, CAR TURNED OUT AND SLID OFF THE ROAD, MAKING CONTACT WITH A TREE (REAR OF THE VEHICLE HIT THE TREE)
SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING PAINT DAMAGE AND CUTS ON MY HANDS. I WAS TRAVELING AT 65MPH GOING STRAIGHT.
HEADIGHTS TURN OFF FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WHILE DRIVING THEN COME ON AGAIN EVENTUALLY. BOTH HEADLAMPS GO OFF TOGETHER. HEADLIGHT SWITCH IN MANUAL ON POSITION, NOT THE AUTO ON/OFF POSITION WHICH I DO NOT USE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE. AFTER BEING PARKED FOR THREE MONTHS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND FOUND RODENT EXCREMENT, FOOD PARTICLES, AND NOTICED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS CHEWED THROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BOB BAKER HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 5285 CAR COUNTRY DR, CARLSBAD, CA 92008, (760) 929-4900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MECHANIC FAILED TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE REPAIR COST $1,300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE AND TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE'S WIRING HARNESS WAS SOY-BASED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, IT FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,773.
HEADLIGHTS FLASH WHEN SWITCHING FROM "AUTO" TO "ON" POSITION. OCCASIONALLY THE HEADLIGHTS IN THE "ON" POSITON WILL BLACKOUT FOR 2-5 SECONDS UNTIL HEADLIGHT STALK IS GIGGLED. THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL "NOISE" (LIKE A SHORT CIRCUIT SOUND...A "POP") WHEN SWITCHING FROM AUTO TO ON. THE TURN SIGNALS ALSO SEEM TO TRIGGER THE "SHORT CIRCUIT". ALL OF THESE CONDITIONS CAN OCCUR MOVING OR STANDING STILL.ON ANY TYPE OF ROADWAY.

I FEEL LIKE THE TRANSITION ON THIS CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IT LOCKS YOU OUT OF SECOND GEAR AT HIGH RPMS WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS IN SOME SITUATIONS. ALSO FROM 5TH AND 6TH GEAR GRIND AND ARE HARD TO ACTUATE. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V113000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
ENGINE CRANKS NORMALLY ATTEMPTING TO START. WHEN FAILED TO START, THE 'START' BUTTON IS PUSHED TO STOP THE ATTEMPT. TRIED AGAIN. TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS TO FINALLY START. ONCE STARTED THE ENGINE REVS AT HIGH RPM'S. WHEN PUT IN 'D' THE CAR LURCHES AND ACCELERATES WITHOUT PUSHING GAS PEDAL. IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AFTER STARTING AND RESTARTED, FAST ACCELERATION IS ELIMINATED. CAR HAS ULTIMATELY STARTED, BUT THE FEAR IS IT WILL GET WORSE AND ULTIMATELY FAIL TO START STRANDING THE DRIVER. CAR RUNS PERFECTLY IN NORMAL DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS OCCURRED ALMOST DAILY FOR 90 DAYS. HYUNDAI SERVICE: TAKEN TO HYUNDAI ON TWO OCCASIONS. THEY SAY THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM AND NO COMPUTER ERROR CODES GENERATED. STUMPED! CAN DO NOTHING IF PROBLEM CAN'T BE DUPLICATED BY SERVICE TECH! KEEPING QUIET? NEW CONDITION 4/26/18! CAR HAS SHUT DOWN TWICE AT A STOP LIGHT, 4/26 AND 4/29. FEAR OF SHUTTING DOWN WHILE IN TRAFFIC AS REPORTED IN USER FORUMS. HYUNDAI USER FORUMS: DOZENS OF OWNERS DISCLOSE THAT THE PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD ACROSS YEARS AND MODELS. REPORT THAT HYUNDAI DENIES THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH PROBLEMATIC STARTING AND STALLING AT LOW SPEEDS AND HIGH SPEEDS! OWNERS REPORT FEAR OF SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF THE CAR STALLS ON THE HIGHWAY, ENTERING TRAFFIC OR MAKING TURNS ACROSS TRAFFIC.

BRAKE PEDAL ONE 2 OCCASIONS WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY DIMINISHED STOPPING POWER THE FIRST TIME WAS ON THE HIGHWAY A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS DECEMBER 31 2017 I DROVE THE CAR HOME AND DID NOT DRIVE IT TILL TUESDAY, JAN 2ND, 2018 WHEN IT DROVE IT SLOWLY TO THE DEALER ON THE WAY THERE THE PEDAL GOT FIRMER BUT STILL SPONGY NOT NORMAL THE DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT HELP ME I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUBURBAN HYUNDAI (1814 MAPLELAWN DR, TROY, MI) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST SINCE THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
BACKGROUND: AM ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS 2010 HYUNDAI GENESIS THAT WAS PURCHASED JULY 31, 2010 AND THAT CURRENTLY HAS LESS THAN 35,000 MILES ON IT. ISSUE: UNEXPECTEDLY, THE BRAKES BECAME "SQUISHY" (I.E. BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED A LONG DISTANCE BEFORE ENGAGING BRAKES). ADVISED BY HYUNDAI DEALER THAT IT IS A FAULTY HECU UNIT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $3,800. NOTE: THE BRAKE FLUID WAS REPLACED IN APRIL 2013 AND THE HECU UNIT WAS SUPPOSEDLY INSPECTED IN JANUARY 2014. I BELIEVE THESE WERE DONE IN RESPONSE TO PRIOR RECALLS. THAT SAID, UPON SOME FURTHER READING ON THE INTERNET, I AM UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT WHEN THIS PROBLEM WAS PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED FOR RECALL, THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE RESULTED IN MY HECU UNIT BEING REPLACED, NOT JUST INSPECTED. I INTEND TO RAISE THIS ISSUE WITH THE HYUNDAI DEALER AND, HOPEFULLY, HYUNDAI WILL STAND BEHIND THE REPLACEMENT OF THE HECU UNIT WITHOUT CHARGING ME.
THERE IS A SPLIT ACROSS MY DASH WERE THE AIR BIG IS I CALL THE MAIN OFFICE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT.MY CONCERN IS MY FAMILY SAFETY
WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO MY BRAKE PETAL, THE CAR DID NOT STOP. I ALMOST WAS INVOLVED IN A FEW REAR END COLLISONS. IT WAS VERY SCARY! DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE BRAKES AND NOTHING IS WRONG. I NEED TO DO A MASTER CYLINDER CHANGE. UNFORTUNATELY, MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. CURRENTLY, IT HAS 53,000 MILES ONLY. NO RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE.
PARTIAL LOSS OF BRAKING - WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 45 MPH THE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME ABRUPTLY SLOWED DOWN REQUIRING ME TO QUICKLY APPLY MY BRAKES. UPON APPLICATION OF MY BRAKES, I STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY RELEASED, PROVIDING LIMITED BRAKING. I CONTINUED TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL TOWARDS THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP BUT IT REQUIRED A LONGER STOPPING DISTANCE THAN NORMAL.*BF UPDATED 9/28/18*JB
THE AIR BAG SENSOR INDICATOR IS ON AND IT WON'T GO OFF. THE DEALERSHIP AT HYUNDAI WEST BROAD ST IS TELLING ME THAT IT NEEDS A PODS ECU, WHICH COST 3,000.00 AND I TOLD THEM THEIR IS A RECALL ON THE GENESIS COUPE/2010 FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND WHY ISN'T THIS COVER BY HYUNDAI FOR THE GENESIS SEDAN? THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS NOR WILL THEY CALL HYUNDAI AND ASK WHY ISN'T THIS SAME DEFECT COVER FOR THE SEDAN JUST LIKE IT IS FOR THE GENESIS COUPE? WEST BROAD HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN RICHMOND, VA. WANTS TO CHARGED ME $3,500.00 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ON MY CAR SO IT WILL PASS STATE INSPECTION.
I BOUGHT THE CAR USED WITH 32,500 MILES. FROM DAY 1 THERE WAS A GRIND GOING INTO 5TH GEAR. THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT NO TSB OR RECALL WAS EVER SENT OUT ABOUT IT. JUST A TSB TO CHANGE THE FLUID . AT 82,000 MILES THE 5TH GEAR SYNCHRO BROKE. I HAD TO BUY A USED TRANSMISSION FROM THE JUNK YARD AND HAD IT INSTALLED FOR $820 TOTAL INCLUDING THE TRANSMISSION, LABOR AND FLUID. WHY WOULD THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE A 10 YEAR/100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY, WHEN IT ONLY COVERS THE FIRST OWNER. AND WHY WOULD THEY KNOW ABOUT THE 5TH GEAR GRIND AND NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH OVER A RAILROAD TRACK, THE VEHICLE DROVE OVER A DITCH, WENT AIRBORNE, AND LANDED ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CULVERT PIPE AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED 3-5 TIMES. ONLY THE FRONT DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE OVERHEAD AND SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LACERATIONS AND BROKEN BONES ON THE FACE AND BODY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
MY CAR WENT AIRBORNE WHEN I HIT A RAILROAD CROSSING WITH A STEEP DROP OFF, LANDED IN A DITCH AND FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES END OVER END, LANDING UPSIDE DOWN. I WAS AIRLIFTED TO AN AREA HOSPITAL. ONLY 1 OF THE 6 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I LOST FEELING IN THE SIDE OF MY FACE WHERE MY HEAD BROKE THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AND ALMOST BLED OUT. I NOW HAVE SEIZURES AND WAS RECENTLY FIRED FROM MY JOB DUE TO HAVING 2 SEIZURES AT WORK. I HAVE ONLY WORKED PART TIME IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. IF THE AIR BAGS HAD DEPLOYED, I WOULD'VE WALKED AWAY UNINJURED. I WAS ALSO TRAPPED WHEN MY HAND WENT THROUGH THE TOP WINDOW. I WAS LEFT HANGING AND HAD TO HOLD MY FACE WITH MY FREE HAND TO STOP THE BLEEDING UNTIL HELP ARRIVED. IF TOP AIRBAGS WOULD'VE DEPLOYED, MY HAND WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN CAUGHT UNDER THE VEHICLE. I EXPECTED ALL 6 AIRBAGS TO WORK WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE. THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH SHOULD'VE MADE ALL THESE AIRBAGS DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY TOTALED.
BREAKS FAILED. TAKING EXIT FROM HIGHWAY AND THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP AS THE BREAKS WOULD WORK. WAS VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE FOUND GAP BETWEEN TWO LANES AND AVOIDED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. DEALER CONFIRMED THE BREAKS FAILED AND THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS BREAK FAILURES REPORTED WITH GENESSIS. HAD RECENTLY GOT BREAKS CHECKED AND WAS TOLD 'EVERY THING IS FINE'. QUESTION IS WHY DIDN'T HYUNDAI DO A RECALL AND PROACTIVELY REPLACE MY BREAK SYSTEM? ONE WHOLE DAY OF SUSPENSE ABOUT HOW MUCH IT WILL COST ME... AND I WAS TOLD HYUNDAI WOULD COVER THE COST OF REPLACEMENT AS IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM. DEALER CALLED IT 'GOODWILL WARRANTY'.

THE TMPS LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. WEST BROAD HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN RICHMOND, VA. WANTS TO CHARGE ME TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT NOT KNOWING WHY IT'S HAPPENING. THEY HAVE RESET IT BU TIT KEEPS COMING BACK ON.
BRAKES ARE SPONGY. 63000 MILES. BRAKE PADS ARE AT 70% ON THE BACK AND 50% ON THE FRONT. BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IS OK. WHEN USING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT SEEMS TO COME TO A STOP AND THEN I AM ABLE TO PUSH DOWN MORE. PUSHING DOWN MORE IS WHAT IS REQUIRED TO STOP THEVEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V489000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
ATTEMPTED TO REDUCE SPEED TO ENTER NEIGHBORHOOD STREET AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. CONTINUED PRESSURE STOPPED THE VEHICLE. BRAKES COULD BE PUMPED UP AND CONTINUED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT WITH SERIOUSLY DEGRADED BRAKING CAPABILITY. AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE TURNING ON TO A MAIN STREET FROM A HIGHWAY. WITHOUT WARNING THE CAR ENTERED LIMP MODE. I DID NOT HAVE ANY ENGINE RESPONSE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT DO MORE THAN ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAYS CAR HAS CODES FOR FAULTY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND IT NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE SEEN OTHER PEOPLE WITH A SIMILAR ISSUE.
AS I WAS DRIVING, THE GROUND BECAME UNLEVELED, I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN MY SPEED AND I EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE. MY BRAKE PEDAL SUNK DOWN TO THE FLOOR BEFORE MY CAR WOULD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. FOR TWO MONTHS MY CAR HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE, ALL THE WHILE CHARGING ME FOR TEST, AND NO ONE CAN CORRECT THIS ISSUE. IT'S NOW 2 1/2 MONTHS AND I'M STILL WITHOUT MY CAR. I NEED FOR HYUNDAI TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. *TR
