The braking system has been an ongoing issue, shuddering and grinding when braking and hitting an uneven surface, especially at slower speeds. It has consistently become worse, shuddering, grinding and not stopping when going down a driveway. Tonight when going less than 20MPH and on a smooth surface, it would not stop when coming up to a light/intersection. The shuddering and grinding was much worse and the car kept going forward as if it were on a sheet of ice. The car slid forward more than 20 feet, coming within a few inches of rear-ending the vehicle ahead. It was terrifying! It did the same thing 2 more times in the 3.5 miles to my driveway. Thank goodness there was no other traffic. This is not normal at all and I’m in fear of driving it again.
On [XXX] around [XXX], turned right from [XXX] is very bumpy due to potholes. My palisade’s ABS kicked in and I was not able to break my car before the red traffic light. The car went over the light. If there was a car in front of me, I wouldn’t be able to stop my car without accident. This is not the first time my palisade’s ABS suddenly engaged. The ABS seems always kick in when driving in low speed on a bumpy road. I am concerned someday I will have an accident due to the faulty ABS. The vehicle was brought to the dealership at around 17,000 miles with concerns regarding a clunky sound and hesitation in acceleration. The issue is extremely noticeable while turning and accelerating. No warning lights, messages or audible chimes show up when the issue occurs. Due to the vehicle hesitation on acceleration and the clunky / bouncy feeling in the steering wheel, my wife and I think there is a safety concern (e.g. being hit due to unresponsiveness of the vehicle). The problem was reproduced/confirmed by a dealer, and the rear coupling assembly was replaced. Fast forward 18,000 miles (vehicle now has ~35,000 miles) and the exact same issue is occurring again. I am schedule to take the vehicle back into the dealership for this concern, another concern with the ABS system and general maintenance.
It appears that the ABS system engages/actuates while driving over gravel or uneven/dirt roads. When the issue occurs, the steering wheel locks up and the vehicle loses almost all braking control. No warning lights, messages or audible chimes show up when the issue occurs. My wife and I have both experienced this issue on numerous occasions. It has become a safety concern since we almost ended up in a ditch...my wife and young children were in the vehicle. I am fearful that we could potentially crash or hit someone due to loss of vehicle control. The vehicle is being brought to the dealership on September 18, 2025, where I will make them aware of this concern. NOTE: the provided "additional details" below are based on the most recent occurrence.
When driving over bumps (speed bumps, railroad tracks, sewer lids etc.) at a slow speed while pressing the brakes, the rear passenger brake produces a shuddering or a grinding sensation. This issue has been confirmed by other drivers who have operated my vehicle. When this occurs, it feels as though the vehicle is not stopping properly and the brakes are slipping. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership on two separate occasions; however, the technicians were unable to duplicate the concern. After the most recent inspection, the dealership stated that they could not identify an issue. There are no warning messages or lights displayed on the dashboard when this happens. Through further research, I have found that a number of other owners have reported experiencing the same problem on the NHTSA site. This concerns me that others and myself are having this same issue and there has yet to be a recall or some type of technical service bulletin so the dealers will address this issue.
On September 11, 2025, Hyundai of New Port Richey (Lithia Motors) executed a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) contract and delivered a 2023 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] act day the manufacturer issued a federal Stop-Sale for Recall #283 (Seatbelt Latch Failure). Internal documents show the CPO sale relied on mechanical inspection data from 34 days prior (August 8, 2025). There is no documentation of a point-of-sale safety check performed on September 11, resulting in the vehicle being sold despite the active Stop-Sale order. Presumably, because the sale occurred on the exact date Recall #283 was issued, we were excluded from the manufacturer's October safety mailing. We unknowingly operated the vehicle for seven months without knowledge of the seatbelt defect, though we did receive subsequent notices for campaigns 9C9, 9C8, and Recall #292 (Ejection Mitigation). Combined, the active status of Recall #283 and Recall #292 leaves the vehicle with zero safe seating positions. Furthermore, internal records show the vehicle failed a computer diagnostic test ('NG' code) with a severely depleted 11.90V battery prior to purchase. The CPO sale was executed without resolving this documented fault. This correlates to a severe electrical issue where the parked vehicle spontaneously unlocks. Attached documents: "Palisade Sales Paperwork" - Documents the 9/11/25 purchase date. "Palisade Repair Order" - Documents the electrical/battery failure. (I also possess a video from the Hyundai technician confirming the battery issue). "Final Evidentiary Summary" - Chronological timeline of the transaction. "Palisade Inspection Form" - August 8, 2025, internal document recording the battery failure and outdated recall checks. This was not provided to us with the 9/11/25 purchase paperwork, and the customer signature is left blank. I've had two incidents with my car. I've been to the service center several times, but no one can help me. How much longer can this go on? It's been going on since September.
While driving my 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy at about 30 mph on a small paved street, the sunroof suddenly exploded with a very loud bang. There were no other cars nearby, no debris, and nothing hit the vehicle. Thankfully, the inside sliding cover was closed, so no glass entered the cabin, but the sound was extremely alarming and could have easily caused an accident if conditions were different. The dealership refused to cover the repair under warranty. After looking online, I discovered many other Hyundai owners reporting the same issue with their panoramic sunroofs, so this does not appear to be an isolated incident. This is a major safety concern. If the interior cover had been open, shattered glass would have fallen directly onto me and my passengers, likely causing injuries. The sudden loud explosion can also startle drivers and lead to loss of control. I believe this is a dangerous defect that requires investigation.
Leased vehicle in 2023 after a few months rear suspension was giving problems after a year of ignoring claims they saw the rear bushings were out. They changed it and after a few months again the problem came back more permanent. They admitted the part was faulty. Change the suspension and now it sounds like a space ship when breaking. Went in for 30k maintenance and now the ac vents sound like a plane. Two days later after a storm I see the roof is leaking and rear sunroof is also leaking. Since the near three year ownership it has been problem after problem not cause by me but by poor quality management at the dealer.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the second-row passenger’s side seat belt inadvertently unlatched while the contact’s daughter was in the seat. No warning light was illuminated. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
The sunroof glass shattered on its own without any objects hitting it.
Anti locking braking system malfunctioning and preventing me from braking at low speeds in a parking lot and at a stop light. No lights on internally (Dash). Had to swerve to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me at the stop light and had to hit my horn to have the person in the parking lot slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. Both incidents happened at about 5 miles per hours on flat grounds.
While sitting at a stop sign, I attempted to place my vehicle in Park. I opened the driver’s side door, but the car had not actually shifted into Park. None of the vehicle’s safety systems engaged when the door was opened. The car rolled forward with me partially outside the vehicle, dragging me until it struck a tree. This incident reflects a critical failure in the vehicle’s electrical/safety systems: •The transmission did not engage Park when selected. •The door-open rollaway prevention system did not activate. •The automatic front collision system failed to stop the vehicle. Because multiple electronic safeguards failed at the same time, this appears to be an electrical or computer system malfunction rather than driver error.
ABS system engaging at unpredictable times. Unable to stop. Have slid into intersection when braking with perfect road conditions. Feels like I hit ice in 100 degree weather. Experience shaking/brakes locking up. Extremely concerning and frightening when I am driving with children in the car and purchased the vehicle under the assumption it had superior safety ratings. Pleading for recall to be issued due to this system.
On [XXX] the engine light went on my 2023 Hyundai palisade SUV. Immediately I drove over the Hyundai dealership to try to find out what the problem was. On my way there, the light remained on, and the car kept making movements as if it was going to turn off, I could barely make the speed increase as I was driving. I went to Healey Hyundai located at 794 Route 52 Fishkill Ny 12524 phone number 845 831 1090 . In spite, the car light on and the issues they refused to attend the car and asked me to go back Monday morning, which I did , same issued on my way there, and I arrived there with the engine light on , service advisor Rasheena M Dyer , took the car, saw the light on, took pictures and asked me to wait for the mechanic to review the car. After two hours the service advisor, said “ there’s nothing we could do, or anything could do, the car is misfiring and anything could be causing the car to misfired, the mechanic don’t see the light right now, therefore, we can’t diagnose anything, but the car is misfiring “. I replied:” my car is under 50,000 miles and under manufacturer warranty, can you give me a rental, while you fixed the engine problem, I have 5 children , how can I drive around with my kids with an engine light on and the issues is giving me”, she replied: we won’t give you a rental because we don’t know what the problem is , ( although they know and said the car motor is misfiring )unless you pay $200 dollars . They sent me away with the engine light on, and the car making sounds and movements as if is going to go off anytime . Hyundai refused to help me although the engine lights are on and my car is still under warranty. I took the car that same day to Monro auto service at 64 north plank road ,Newburgh Ny 12550, and the checked the car and confirmed that there’s nothing wrong with the oil, or filters as the dealership try to implied , is an engine-firing problem that again, Hyundai dealership refuses to fix. The sunroof glass exploded while traveling on the highway. The glass panel was closed shut about a minute before the incident. Small and large glass fragments entered the passenger cabin while traveling at highway speed. One large fragment caused a small laceration to the drivers arm. Another fragment struck the vehicle traveling behind and caused minor damage. Other large and small fragments landed on 2nd row passengers. There was no evidence of a foreign object or road debris causing this incident.
I was driving my 2023 Hyundai Palisade at 75 mph on I25 in Northern Colorado when I heard a terribly loud noise like an explosion above my head. I jerked but kept control of the car. My immediate thought was that something dropped on my roof but I wasn't under an overpass. Frantically looking in all directions, I saw something dark flying in the air towards the side of the road. At the same time, motorcycles traveling behind me were moving out of my lane. I pulled over and found my Sunroof had instantaneously exploded outwards. There were bits of glass everywhere. It was certainly a startling driver safety issue that caused me to jerk the wheel. At highway speeds, it is fortunate that I didn't lose control or roll my vehicle. If the inside sunroof cover had been open as it is most of the time, bits of glass would have exploded all over the inside of the car showering the driver and passengers, including their faces and eyes. It was a terribly dangerous situation. I immediately reported it to my dealer who would not even look at the car. The dealer said they don't deal with glass. They recommended a glass installer, Anders Glass. Anders didn't deal with sunroofs. They sent me to NOVUS Glass who inspected, sealed up, then ordered and replaced the unit with a used sunroof. The problem couldn't be reproduced because the sunroof was shattered. There are no glass warning lights. No other warning lights, messages or symptoms appeared before or after the sunroof spontaneously exploded outward.
My vehicle has an issue with the anti lock braking system on uneven surfaces. On several occasions since buying the vehicle earlier this year, I've observed the issue of chattering or severe on-off reaction of the ABS to gradual braking onnuneven surfaces. I have not had the issue verified by a dealer yet, but plan to soon. The malfunction has extended stopping distances significantly. I have not noticed warning lights during or after the malfunction, likely because I'm focused on safely bringing the vehicle to a stop during the malfunction. My vehicle can be made available for inspection.
The second row seat belts will randomly unbuckle themselves while the car is in motion. As parents this is extremely concerning to us and we are worried about the safety of our children in the event of an accident.
When you were at a complete stop and go to make a turn, the backend makes a clunking noise it almost hesitates like it’s having a hard time going and feels like it wants to lock up. I brought it to the dealership. They told me it was my tires and I needed an alignment. I brought it to a tire shop. I got an alignment. They told me it was not my tires. They believe it to be a differential.
On July 16, 2025 in stop and go traffic on I55 the cra failed to stop at 5mph. The road was bumpy on an overpass. I attempted to stop the car. The brake pedal was hard and would depress. The accident avoidance system kicked on right before it was about to hit the car in front of me and stopped the car. After that the car braked fine. It did again on July 22, 2025 on a bumpy road. It felt like the car couldn't tell it was suppose to stop on the bumpy road. Almost ran a red light into oncoming traffic as the car only stopped once the road was no longer bumpy. That is hard when living in the Chicago area and the roads are terrible. Dealership claims there is nothing wrong with the car.
I recently purchased a Hyundai vehicle and discovered that the previous owner still has full access to the vehicle’s Bluelink system. This includes remote start/stop, vehicle tracking, horn/lights, and other controls. Despite contacting Hyundai support and proving ownership, they still have not revoked or disabled this access. I am unable to override or reset the system myself. This poses a serious safety concern, because an unauthorized individual can: •Remotely disable the vehicle while in motion or parked, •Track my exact real-time location, or •Manipulate vehicle functions without my knowledge or consent. This is not a one-off issue. Hyundai has no effective system in place to guarantee owner control or revoke prior access, which leaves other buyers vulnerable too. This constitutes a design flaw in connected vehicle control systems, not just an isolated customer service problem.
Sun roof exploded and there is a football sized hole in the roof.
I noticed my right rear tire skidded on the road when I turned. Went to dealer. They didn't find anything. Leaving a drive through once I hit the other road crossing my tire did the same. It felt like the break was not releasing. Yesterday leaving my driveway we slowed down and both rear tires felt like you were dribbling a ball. As if the breaks were going on and off. It was less than 15 seconds but it was scary. I read an article where in other states other Palisades are having the same issue and they were not repaired. It has to do with the abs per the article. No warning signs pop up on my dashboard. I'm glad I don't drive fast. I'm worried something worse can happen. I did not report to police there was no accident.
System that malfunctioned was the braking system Safety was risked because vehicle doesn’t stop as it should at low speed below 30mph. Safety of occupants as well pedestrians and other motorists affected. Problem can be reproduced although dealer refused to confirm. I am in the process of getting it confirmed independently. Vehicle and components not inspected by manufacturer, police nor insurance. Although I am in the process of putting an insurance claim in. The issue has been reported and confirmed by several other owners of same make and model and year. No prior warning of issue to it happening. The problem: At low speed below 30mph and braking simultaneously when going over rough ground (non slippery), potholes or in my accident going over a 6” drain to my garage, the ABS kicks in when it shouldn’t and the brake pedal vibrates and the vehicle lurches a bit. The result is that the braking distance increases significantly. I can reproduce the issue in particular roads areas. The accident I had involved when I was parking the car and the drain cover was dislodged at the entrance to the garage. I hit the brakes as usual but the brakes were ineffective and I ended up crashing into my refrigerator and freezer in the garage which took the full brunt of the impact and were damaged. I hardly had any brakes at all and the fridges took the full impact. Luckily it was at low speed. So only the front bumper got cracked and got damaged along with the fridges being fully crushed in. After the incident I was so shocked at what happened and couldn’t believe I lost the brakes so I found that several other owners of the same vehicle has had the same or even severe brake failures. I was able to replicate the problem fairly consistently in certain roads where it was slightly bumpy or rough. I didn’t want to try in my garage for obvious reasons. Furthermore the emergency brakes and collision warning did not activate either.
We purchased this car new around June 2023 from a local Hyundai dealer. The car has been regularly maintained (at the dealer) and only has 20,000 miles approximately. In April of this year, my wife was drive on a very busy highway and suddenly all of the warning lights came on the dashboard and the car shuddered to a very rapid stop. She was lucky to pull off the road or it would have been serious. We got it into the dealer and they called a few days later to say it was fixed. Unfortunately, it was not. It happened again on June 20th this year. We had it towed back to the dealer. It has been there since (today is August 5th). They claim they cannot locate the issue and have been working with Hyundai Motor to troubleshoot. I filed a complaint with Hyundai (and really no assistance offered). Last week, they told us it was repaired and to come get it. My wife barely made it out of the lot before it did the same and came to a sudden stop. Not sure if this is happening to other Hyundai vehicles but this is certainly a dangerous situation... and the fact that they cannot determine the cause or how to fix, we are very concerned.
ABS kicks on while going slowly over uneven, bumpy roads, or train tracks. The entire car vibrates and I cannot stop the vehicle even when hitting the brake as hard as possible. The car continues forward for a few seconds after causing me to nearly rear-end other vehicles stopped at a red light.
When driving over uneven roads and if you need to apply the brakes abruptly, the ABS engages (shaking brake pedal) and I am unable to immediately stop my SUV until I’m back on even surface. This has occurred twice going over train track Road crossing and someone quickly needed to stop and once I was on the tracks I had to immediately brake but I could not slow down. SUV has 23000 miles.
We were in slow traffic, stop and go…and my wife went to stop and the car started pulsating and the brake pedal did not work. I checked online and there are reports of this issue and there are no recalls for our car. This was not anyone’s imagination and she had to pull/turn the car to the right to plan on avoiding hitting the car in front of us…as it was pulsating.
Knocking sound when making turns or when going over bumps major and minor
I was driving down the street in my neighborhood and heard an extremely loud explosion. I pulled over to check that it wasn’t the tires and that there wasn’t anything on the street. As i pulled into my driveway i heard rattling on the roof, i got out the car to check and saw that the sunroof was shattered and there was shards of glass everywhere. There did not appear to be any impacts though, just shattered glass. I had the sunroof shade closed so no glass fell on me, thank God.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front driver's side seat belt unbuckled on several occasions. The driver was able to buckle the seat belt. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the contact's son reported that the second-row middle or rear passenger's seat belt had independently unbuckled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the seat belt was inspected, and the part was ordered; however, the contact stated that the part had been on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the parts production could not be rushed. The contact was advised to obtain a rental vehicle due to safety concerns, and reimbursement might be provided for the rental vehicle. The failure mileage was unknown.
At 2:38 pm on Thursday, April 17th, I was driving southbound on a street and I had just picked up my daughter from school. There were a lot of cars since school just got out. I was behind a car approaching a light going less than 10 miles an hour and braking lightly, then all of a sudden, the ABS system kicked on and my car jerked and vibrated violently forward for about 5 seconds and would not stop. I thought I was going to hit the car in front of me. Finally, I felt the brakes work normally and was able to come to a complete stop. There were no collision warnings or beeps even though I was very close to the car in front me.
I am experiencing recurring failure of the rear self-leveling shock absorbers on my 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. This is a repeat failure after a warranty repair approximately 10 months ago in which both rear shock absorbers were replaced along with the upper insulators per TSB 22-SS-001H. Current Symptoms: The noise occurs on both sides, primarily at lower speeds (under 20 mph), and is most noticeable when the vehicle is turning and weight transfers off a wheel, or when encountering a series of small, sharp impacts. The noise does not occur consistently with every bump but appears related to suspension unloading. Abnormal "pogo-ing" behavior: On smooth road surfaces at speeds between approximately 5-20 mph (such as in slow traffic on freshly paved roads), the rear of the vehicle exhibits a rapid, repetitive bouncing motion that jolts passengers forward and back. This behavior is pronounced enough that passengers have noticed and questioned it. Symptoms are noticeably worse in cold weather and improve somewhat in warm conditions. The rear suspension feels firmer after the vehicle has sat unused for several days. After regular driving, the suspension becomes softer and more compliant. This is a widely documented problem affecting 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade models equipped with the Nivomat shocks, per Carscoops Hyundai is aware of the problem. Online forums and complaint databases contain hundreds of similar reports. Many owners report multiple shock replacements under warranty, with some experiencing 3-7 replacements on a single vehicle. The replacement parts appear to be the same design as the original components and fail at similar or accelerated rates. This issue can affect vehicle stability and braking distances, making it a concerning safety issue. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this recurring suspension failure as a safety defect warranting a recall and the development of properly redesigned replacement components for affected vehicles.
The front passenger seatbelt will randomly release after being securely latched. Has happened at least 20 times. Happens when driving smooth, happens if I slam the brakes. Extremely dangerous and I took to the Hyundai garage and they wouldn’t do anything to fix it.
Please see attachment:
Second row seat belts become unlatched randomly while driving. They have been confirmed "clicked in" and tug tested each time. During driving, the seat belt unlatched indicator comes on and we have to pull over and re- latch the belt. Service technicians have been unable to reproduce the problem, likely as they cannot have 3-7 people ride in the car for hours to verify.
My seatbelt (driver) repeatedly and randomly opens. This has occurred on multiple occasions and with different drivers, and occurs even when the seatbelt is entirely buckled/clicked in.
This is a known issue happening to Palisades and Hyundai isn’t acknowledging the issue. A braking issue has been going on for a while but hadn’t become a safety concern for me until this month. While braking but moving under 10mph, even less, the ABS system will engage without warning when driving over bumps or somewhat uneven road surface. This includes speed bumps. This has happened to me multiple times but never caused me to be in harms way until this month. I was braking for a stop light on a road with numerous small potholes. As I was slowing to stop, the ABS issue occurred. I braked as hard as I could but continued to get the push back/the automatic pumping action of the ABS system and continued moving forward. The car was shaking as well. I continued pushing the brake/attempting to get the brake to engage the entire time, and my car finally stopped, mere inches away from rear ending the car stopped in front of me. I was slowing at a safe distance and would have stopped at more than a safe enough distance away if my car had let me stop. Now I’m deathly afraid of hitting a bump or some sort of uneven road when I need to stop and my car not stopping and hitting someone else, something else, or losing further control of the vehicle. No lights came on or any noises made to indicate a system was activated. My car also didn’t warn me of a possible collision and didn’t stop on its own, as it’s capable of doing. It’s as if the ABS issue overrode everything and my car just wouldn’t brake. I’ve never experienced anything like this with any other vehicle, driving on the same exact roads.
The seatbelts will come unlatched after they have been buckled without notice. It happens to the drivers seatbelt as well as the passenger seatbelt and the seatbelts in the second row. It has been happening for over a year and has happened several times.
On Friday, February 14. 2025 at approximately 9:05 am I was leaving a parking lot to make a right hand turn on to a busy three lane road. Since this issue with the brakes has occurred three times previously I make it a point to drive no more than 10 mph in parking lots. The pavement was dry, then there was a 3 foot patch of thin ice, then the pavement was dry to the stop sign at the road. I pressed the brake pedal well in advance of the patch of ice and once the tires contacted the ice, the brake pedal pulsated harshly causing my vehicle to shake. This situation caused me to be unable to stop at the sign and I almost got broadsided. This is the third complaint I’ve filed regarding this matter. This is the fourth occurrence of the brakes acting in an abnormal manner (since June 2024) and whatever is occurring is terrifying. The dealership claimed it couldn’t replicate the issue and no warming sounds or lights appeared on my dashboard. I fear for my life, my spouse and children’s lives, as well as pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists. Someone is going to get seriously injured or potentially killed because of this issue, therefore, I have to petition the agency to look into this matter in depth and hopefully open an investigation.
The buckle on the seatbelts in both the passenger side and behind the passenger side in the 2nd row doesn't latch. Sometimes it takes 4/5 times to click the seatbelt in before it latches. It also will randomly unlatch. VERY unsafe to be always using seatbelts, only to have them not be trusted due to un latching. It happens multiple times a week, and has been going on since Summer 2024.
Vibrations on the rear side started happening last October 2024. Seats were shaking while driving. In addition to the rough ride, Clunk and rattling are heard while going over small bumps. Took it to dealer Feb 10, 2025, and tech found rear shock mounts are bad. The write up also said they replaced the shocks. It was all under warranty. Vehicle is only 13K miles, and suspect/concerned that the replacement may not last long too. Please investigate for possible recall.
The front seat belt has unbuckled on it’s own at multiple occasions, the system does alert of the unbuckling but it is a safety hazard if we get into a car accident. It happens randomly without any warning. We did not get it inspected yet
ABS system is engaging on gravel road when coming to a stop at 20-25mph. Brakes don’t work and vehicle starts shaking. Hyundai dealership is saying there are no issues but this has happened periodically 4-5 times.
Passenger side wiper stopped working after being stuck by ice/snow. Won’t work unless assisted
The steering wheel locks briefly when the Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system restarts the vehicle. This happens intermittently, about 50% of the time. It has affected the ability to steer the vehicle properly when turning at a traffic light after the ISG system has initiated an engine shutdown and subsequent restart. This issue has been reported to our local dealership, but the technicians were not able to reproduce the issue. We have also experienced a complete loss of electrical power in the vehicle with the ISG system a few times. Unfortunately, there is no way to permanently deactivate the ISG system; the auto stop button must be pressed every time the vehicle is used to deactivate it for that trip.
The first time this happened I was at a light waiting for it to turn green. My car went into a shutdown mode and gave me a message of " Auto Stop is Off. Shift to P or N Start Engine Manually". I tried repeatedly to restart the car after putting it into park, but it wouldn't respond. Finally, after 5 minutes of sitting blocking traffic, the engine started, and I drove away. This has now been happening off and on for 3 days. I cannot be stranded in a 50 mile an hour zone blocking traffic. It's an accident waiting to happen. After doing some research online I discovered this has been happening to Hyundai vehicles of different models for over 8 years! Why has Hyundai not recalled this? I think it's a manipulation to force you into one of their shops. I contacted several Hyundai dealerships to speak with someone who knows of this issue. One service manager told me it sounds like it needs a computer update. I ask the cost, and he said $260 and that does not guarantee it will fix the problem.
In Snow Mode, I was at a complete stop and then pushed on the gas pedal to go, the car did not accelerate. I pumped the pedal, still nothing. The car moved slowly like it was in neutral, but would not accelerate. I was trying to turn left at an intersection, it was very scary. I could have gotten rear ended or T-boned. The car finally moved when I changed the driving mode to Smart Mode. The exact scenario has happened several times to me and my husband when driving in snow mode. It happens from a full stop.
Second row seat belts come unlatched while driving. This has happened multiple times. 2 times this week, once for each seat.
