WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING CAPABILITY. CONSUMER TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT IN WHICH STEERING WHEEL UNLOCKED. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
THIS VEHICLE ACCELERATES WHILE BRAKING. WHEN PRESSING ON BRAKE PEDAL YOU CAN ACCIDENTLLY PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. THIS CREATES AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN THIS HAPPENS SINCE YOUR FIRST REFLEX IS TO PRESS HARDER ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE MORE. VERY SCARY WHEN THIS HAPPENS, ESPECIALLY WHEN PEDESTRIANS ARE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT APPEARS THIS IS CAUSED BY THE POSITION OF THE BRAKE PEDAL IN RELATION TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS TO BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT BUT MORE OF A DESIGN FLAW. AS A MECHANIC FOR 31 YEARS AND DRIVER OF NUMEROUS FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC VEHICLES I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANYTHING QUITE AS UNNERVING. IF ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS NEEDED PLEASE DO CONTACT ME. *AK
AT APPROXIMATLELY 50-60 MPH THE CAR HAS A ENGINE MISS. CAR LOSES POWER THAT CAN LAST FOR A SECOND OR MORE. PROBLEM IS A INTERMITTENT ONE. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER AT LEAST 5 TIMES. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE COMPUTER AND THE MASS AIR SENSOR BUT THE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE WHEN THE TRUCK IS UNDER LOAD IE: GOING UP A HILL, PASSING. *AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ENGINE HESITATION, LOSES POWER, IT ALSO TURNS OFF WHILE RUNNING,AND ON 2 OCCASSIONS THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SERVICE CENTER AND THEY REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, OXYGEN SENSORS, AND THEY SUGGESTED TO CHANGE THE GASOLINE WHICH CURRENTLY HE IS USING. THE VEHICLE STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *YD
THE VEHICLE CUT OFF WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. *YH
ENGINE HESITATES. DEALER CHANGED SPARK PLUGS TWICE, OXYGEN SENSOR AND TRANSMISSION COMPUTER. AFTER REPLACEMENT VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT AND STALLED OUT LOSING POWER. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP 15 TIMES AND THEY ARE STILL NOT ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. *TT
SPPEDOMETER OUT BY 7.75% , O2 WAS A RECALL NEVER CONTACTED BY MFG HYUNDAI REPLACING WHEN OWNERS STOP IN FOR SERVICE, ALSO OWNERS ON SANTA FE FORUM HAVING ALTERNATOR PROBLEMS NUMEROUS ALTERNATORS BEING REPLACED (ECU REPROGRAMMING)ON CASE BY CASE BASIS?
VEHICLE DASH BRAKE AND ALTERNATOR LIGHTS COME ON WHEN VEHICLE SPLASHES THROUGH WATER PUDDLES. ON ALL OCCASIONS I ALSO LOSE POWER STEERING CONSTROL. THE DEALER'S RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM REPORTED IS SIMPLY NOT TO SPLASH WATER WHILE GOING OVER PUDDLES. THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DO DURING THUNDER STORMS FOR WHICH TAMPA BAY IS WELL KNOWN. WATER IS OBVIOUSLY GETTING INTO THE ALTERNATOR AND WETTING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. ON ONE OCCASION I LOST POWER STEERING AS I WAS NEGOTIATING A RIGHT TURN. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. MR
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND IDLED. DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE 5 TIMES AND REPLACED IGNITION COIL, MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, AND 2 OTHER COMPONENTS. BUT THE FAILURE STILL RECURRED. ALSO, VEHICLE WAS SERVICED 3 TIMES FOR BRAKE FAILURE. BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED TWICE. BUT GRINDING CONTINUED. *AK
