THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRACKET WHICH HELD THE SPARE TIRE IN PLACE CUT INTO THE SIDEWALLS OF THE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE BRACKET WAS WELDED ONTO THE SPARE TIRE MOUNT IN SUCH A FASHION THAT IT WAS CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 56,700.
