HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE START BUTTON; KEY NOT DETECTIVE. TRIED CHANGING THE BATTERY IN THE FOB, BUT FAILED. CHECKED THE FUSE, MAIN BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTER. EVERYTHING IS FINE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY SERVICED UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE) IN WHICH THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE A BURNING ODOR WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD DRIVE 'HARD'. IN ADDITION WHILE IDLING IN THE PARK POSITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD ERRONEOUSLY ROLL FORWARD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER JOHN AMATO HYUNDAI(8301 N. 76TH ST. MILWAUKEE WI.) WERE NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE FUEL GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY, IT JUMPS ALL AROUND IN MILEAGE. HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH IS IN THE GAS TANK. HAVE TO FILL AFTER I GO 300 OR SO MILES JUST TO BE SAFE. THE FUEL MILEAGE INDICATOR WILL GO FROM HIGH 360 TO 47 MILES LEFT AND EVERYWHERE IN BETWEEN, THE CAR CAN BE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT OR MOVING, MAKES NO DIFFERENCE

I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD JUST ENTERED THE THE EXIT RAMP LANE. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DE-ACCELERATING BECAUSE I WAS CLOSE TO THE EXIT RAMP. I HAD AMPLE SPACE IN BETWEEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND MYSELF. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME RAPIDLY STOPPED AND I HIT MY BRAKES HARD TO PREVENT CRASHING. WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES HARD, MY BRAKES LOCKED UP AND I DID NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT FELT LIKE I WAS SLIDING ON ICE. SINCE I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP, I SKIDDED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO MY CAR. MY CAR WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY INSURANCE. IF MY BRAKES WERE WORKING CORRECTLY, THERE WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SO MUCH DAMAGE BECAUSE I DID HAVE AMPLE TIME TO STOP. IN ADDITION, I HAD JUST HAD ALL NEW BRAKE AND ROTORS PUT ON MY BRAKES WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEKS OF THE ACCIDENT. MY FRONT BRAKES WERE DONE WITHIN THE YEAR OF THE ACCIDENT.
NOISE WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL TO RIGHT OR LEFT WHILE DRIVING OR TURNING INTO PARKING PLACE. ALSO MY SONATA LOCKS DOORS BY ITSELF. I CAN BE IN HOUSE AND CAR IS IN GARAGE AND I CAN HEAR THE DOORS LOCK. SOMETIMES WHEN I LEAVE MY HOUSE TO GET IN CAR THE DOORS ARE LOCKED. WHY IS THAT? THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS. HYUNDAI SERVICE SAID TO BRING CAR IN AND THEY WOULD CHECK IT OUT. I DID NOT DO THAT DUE TO NEEDING THE CAR EVERY DAY. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THESE ISSUES.

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED AN ABNORMAL ODOR COMING FROM THE HOOD AND BASE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
SEATBELT DOES NOT ALWAYS CATCH. SOMETIMES IT TAKES UP TO 8 ATTEMPTS BEFORE IT CLICKS INTO PLACE. AT TIMES, WHEN DRIVING, THE SEATBELT COMES UNDONE.
MY CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. IF THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED AFTER STOPPING IT JERKS VERY HARD BEFORE GOING INTO GEAR. ALSO, MY MILEAGE FOR GAS IS BROKEN. THE ELECTRIC METER WILL GO UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN AND DOES NOT READ PROPERLY. NO MATTER IF THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, THE GAS METER WILL JUMP UP OR DOWN.
WHILE DRIVING AND PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR IT ACTS AS IF ITS NOT GETTING ANY GAS, SO WHEN I REMOVE MY FOOT AND REPRESS IT, IT MOVES RIGHT ALONG. IT HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES IN THE LAST 24 HOURS. NOW, I EXITED THE CAR AND WENT INTO THE HOUSE AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON.
THE FIRST TIME I WENT OUT TO START MY VEHICLE AND IT WOULDN'T START WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CALLED HYUNDAI FREEHOLD AND THEY SAID THERE 'MAY BE' A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE BUT THEY WOULDN'T KNOW UNTIL THEY BROUGHT IT IN. (REALLY, EVEN WITH THE MASSIVE RECALLS ACROSS THE NATION? OKAY.) THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE TOW. THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME AFTER THE FACT. I PLAYED DUMB AND HAD IT TOWED TO THEM BUT REPORTED IT TO HYUNDAI CORPORATE. THEN HYUNDAI OF FREEHOLD ADMITTED THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND THEY WOULD GIVE ME A NEW ENGINE. THE SECOND TIME I WAS COMING OUT OF THE COLLEGE FROM A NIGHT CLASS AND IT WOULDN'T START. I CALLED THEM THE NEXT MORNING AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING (WE WON'T PAY FOR THE TOW WE WILL REIMBURSE YOU). THEY KNEW BY THE SECOND TIME AROUND THAT I HAD PURCHASED A THIRD PARTY WARRANTY SO EITHER WAY THEY WOULDN'T BE STUCK WITH THE BILL. I HAD IT TOWED BY THE THIRD PARTY AND PAID THE DIFFERENCE AS THE FIRST TIME. THIS TIME THEY SAID IT WAS THE STARTER. (HMMM, OKAY). NOW HERE I AM A FEW MONTHS LATER. AND I GO OUT TO MY CAR AND THE CAR ISN'T STARTING (AGAIN). SHOULD I BOTHER TO CALL THEM AND ASK THEM IF THEY WILL PAY FOR THE TOW THIS TIME? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE RIGHT AS LONG AS I'M NOT PAYING ANYTHING BUT HE DIFFERENCE AFTER THIRD PARTY PAYMENT YOU ASK? IT'S THE PRINCIPLE! ALSO, WHAT HAPPENED WHEN MY THIRD PARTY AGREEMENT RUNS OUT AND THESE KNUCKLEHEADS ARE STILL SAYING (WE HAVE TO SEE IF IT'S SOMETHING WE DID!?! OR WORSE YET, SOMETHING HAPPENS WHILE I'M OUT WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD?! THEY ARE CLEARLY DOING THIS TO OTHER PEOPLE I CHECKED THEIR YELP PAGE I'M NOT THE ONLY VICTIM. PLEASE HELP?! I CAN'T AFFORD TO WAIT UNTIL MY THIRD PARTY WARRANTY IS UP FOR THEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR GIVE ME A VEHICLE OF THE SAME VALUE MINS THE PROBLEMS. IT'S LITERALLY BEEN ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. AND FORGET ABOUT ASKING FOR A LOANER!

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
I HAD A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA I FINANCED FROM PRESTIGE AUTO IN DARTMOUTH MA. THE VEHICLE HAD 66,002 MILEAGE. I MADE SURE EVERYTHING WAS UP TO DATE AND FIXED PRIOR TO PURCHASING VEHICLE. LONG STORY SHORT WITH ALL THE RECALLS THESE SONATAS HAVE ENGINE BEING ONE OF THEM. I STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THIS ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH THE FEAR OF BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED AND CAUSING INJURY TO ANOTHER PERSON DUE TO THIS. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI MOTOR CORPORATION AND BETTER BUISNESS BUREAU AND WAS FORWARDED TO CONTACT THIS. I TRADED IN THE VEHICLE ONLY GETTING 1,500 FOR IT WHEN I STILL OWED 6,698 AND HAD TO PAY THAT OUT OF MY POCKET. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF HYUNDAI WAS COOPERATIVE BUT INSTEAD THEY DID NOTHING!! I WASN'T KEEPING A VEHICLE THAT WAS UNSAFE AND TO WORRY IF I'M GOING TO BE ALIVE OR DECEASED EVERY TIME I'M IN IT.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR WHEN I HEARD AN ENGINE KNOCK I LOOKED OUT MY WINDOW TO SEE ORANGE FLAMES FROM UNDERNEATH MY CAR PULLED OVER THE INTERIOR CAR AND GOLF IT WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I HAD ONE ADULT PASSENGER A 12 YEAR OLD CHILD AND MYSELF IN THE VEHICLE WAS VERY SCARY.

THE CONTACT PLANNED TO HAVE THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR SPECIFICS ON MAY 20, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
MY STEERING IS CLUNCKING WHEN I TURN MY WHEEL. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR 2 RECALLS AND I ASSUMED THIS WOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST AS WELL. THE HYUNDIA DEALERSHIP THAT I BROUGHT THE CAR TO SAID THAT THIS WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT I HAVE EXCEDED THE MANUFACUTRERS WARRANTY TO COVER THIS AND IT WOULD COST ME ALMOST 300.00 TO FIX IT MYSELF. I KNOW THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE SINCE MY SON IS A MECHANIC AND HAS TOLD ME OF SEVERAL THAT THEY HAVE REPLACED. I WOULD HOPE THAT HYUNDAI WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM FOR ME SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 7 YEARS AND NO COMPALINTS. IF THEY DON'T WANT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM I WILL JUST TRADE THE VEHICLE IN FOR A MANUFACTURER THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF PROBLEMS WHEN THEY HAPPEN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER VOLUME HYUNDAI (2520 NORTH COLUMBIA STREET, MILLEDGEVILLE, GA 31061 (478)-452-7001) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED AND DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER PAD DETERIORATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED WITH THE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN WHEN I HIT A POTHOLE OR BUMP IN THE ROAD. IT DOES THE SAME THING WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL. FOR EXAMPLE, I'LL BE DRIVING 50MPH AND I'LL HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND MY RPM AND SPEED WILL DROP. IF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS THEN RE PRESS IT, IT RE ENGAGES AND ACCELERATES AGAIN.
I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT MAY BE WHEEL ALIGNMENT OR BALL POINT WHEN STEERING. I TOOK IT FOR A 2ND OPINION, AND THE SAME THING WAS STATED. I CALLED MY INSURANCE GEICO, AND THEY TOLD ME THER WAS A RECALL.
TAIL LIGHTS/ BRAKE LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY BURNOUT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS ON BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES OVER 10 TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. THE BULB IS AT TIMES SO HOT IT'S MELTING THE PLASTIC CASING THAT IT SITS IN.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
THE GAS GAUGE IS NOT DISPLAYING CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE SHOWS EMPTY EVEN AFTER I HAVE FILLED IT UP WITH GAS. IT ALSO FLUCTUATES RANDOMLY. THIS HAPPENS IN ALL SETTINGS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR MOVING.
I BELIEVE MY CAR HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V759000 BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER PAD DETERIORATION I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT BEING PRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO COME ON AND STAY ILLUMINATED PREVENTING ACCURATE COMMUNICATION TO REARWARD FOLLOWING VEHICLES THAT THE VEHICLE IS SLOWING OR STOPPING. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SHIFT THE THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF PARK WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. LASTLY, WHEN THIS ALL OCCURS WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE LOSES POWER AS OFF I AM PRESSING THE BREAK. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET, HIGHWAY AND WHILE TURNING.

MY HYUNDAI SONATA SE 2012 STEERING WHEEL RECENTLY STARTED SHAKING ONCE I HIT 65 MPH. IT'S DOING IT ON AND OFF, BUT AT TIMES IT SOUND SCARY LIKE IT'S GOING TO FLY OFF.
HELLO. I AM REACHING OUT REGARDING CONCERN AS TO THE MALFUNCTION OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS. I CURRENTLY OWN TWO 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA VEHICLES. THE LIGHTBULBS IN BOTH VEHICLES GO OUT WITHIN DAYS OF BEING REPLACED. I WAS ADVISED BY A HYUNDAI TECHNICIAN THAT THE CASING OF WHERE THE LIGHT BULBS IS INSERTED WAS "MELTED" AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL. IN MY RESEARCH OF THIS MALFUNCTION, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS NOT A INDIVIDUALIZED ISSUE OR CONCERN THAT IS ISOLATED TO MY VEHICLES. IN ADDITION TO CAUSING A POTENTIAL RISK OF A ACCIDENT, I AM VERY CONCERNED REGARDING THE POTENTIAL OF A FIRE DUE TO THE "MELTING" OF THE CASING.
ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO I NOTICE A LITTLE SCRATCH ON THE DASHBOARD, AFTER A WHILE I SEE THAT IT WAS A DANGER CRASH AFTER THIS TIME NOW ARE 3 BIG SCRATCHES THAT INTERFERE WITH THE DEPLOYMENT AIRBAGS OF BOTH FROM AIRBAGS IF SPLIT COULD COST BIG INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE .HYUNDAY SAID THEY ARE NOT RESPONSABLE FOR THAT DEFECTIVE PART.(PLASTIC) BUT THEY WANT ME TO PAY. ALSO THE LIGHTS NEVER ARE RIGHT TO CAUSE DIFFICULTY AT NIGHT DRIVING ALSO DANGEROUS, THE DEALER SAID THEY ARE OK, BUT THEY ARE NOT IN RIGHT POSITION.
WELL I BOUGHT THE CAR A FEW YEARS BACK. I LEARNED ABOUT A FEW RECALLS ON THE CAR AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN. THEY FIXED ONE ISSUE, WHILE THEY SAID THE ENGINE WAS FINE. 2 YEARS PASS AND I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. NOTE THERE WHERE NO SIGNS OF THE ENGINE HAVING TROUBLE. JUST PASSED SMOG. HAD THE OIL CHANGED, THE AIR FILTERS AND INTAKE FILTERS CHANGED. THE CAR MAKES THIS NOISE LIKE A RATTLE NOISE. I TURN OFF MY MUSIC AND WAS LISTENING TO THE NOISE. THE CAR SEEMED LIKE IT WAS LOSING POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND ACCELERATING WAS DECLINING . ALL OF A SUDDEN CHE K ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. NOT EVEN A MOMENT LATER THE ENGINE TURNS OFF. I WAS SCARED. ON THE FREEWAY AND MY STEERING LOCKED UP COULDN'T USE THE BRAKE AND WHEEL WAS USELESS. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR RESTARTED FOR A MOMENT TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND DOWN TO A SAFE AREA BUT THEN THE CAR STOPPED AGAIN AND WOULDN'T RESTART. HAS IT TOWED HOME. NOT ONLY WAS THIS HIGHLY UNSAFE, IT PUT MY LIFE MY KIDS LIFE AND OTHER DRIVERS AT RISK IN GETTING INTO A SEVERE ACCIDENT. I WAS LUCKY. BUT THE EXPERIENCE WAS SOMETHING ELSE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE, THE CONTACT HAD TO RELEASE AND DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL QUICKLY. IN ADDITION, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. VICTORVILLE HYUNDAI (14821 PALMADALE RD A, VICTORVILLE, CA 92392) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE BRAKES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
AT ANY SPEED THE ENGINE WILL RETURN TO IDLE WITHOUT MOVING THE GAS PEDAL. IT WILL DO THE SAME THING WHEN USING CRUISE. PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL WILL RE-ENGAGE THE ENGINE. IT ACTS AS IF YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS AND EVERYTHING ACTS NORMAL (LIGHTS, POWER STEERING ETC). THIS STARTED IN MID MARCH 2019. IT IS BECOMING A DAILY ISSUE. . MY WIFE IS SCARED TO DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT TO MY HYUNDAI DEALER AND THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. IT DID NOT DO IT FOR THEM. THEY SAID IT SHOWED NO CODES. I KEEP VERY GOOD CARE OF MY SONATA. 2012 SONATA INCONSISTENTLY WILL DISPLAY "SHIFT TO P" WHEN TRYING TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THE CAR IS ALWAYS IN PARK WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND IT WON'T ALLOW THE NAVIGATION SCREEN TO TURN OFF. THE ENGINE WILL TURN OFF BUT THE BATTERY WILL DRAIN DUE TO THE SCREEN BEING CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED DURING THIS ISSUE. SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE UP TO 25 MINUTES TO GET THIS ISSUE TO RESOLVE ITSELF BY RESTARTING THE ENGINE, SHIFTING TO DRIVE AND THEN BACK TO PARK, AND THEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN OFF THE CAR OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THIS ISSUE OCCURS MORE OFTEN WHEN GOING ON SHORT DRIVES.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 HYNDAI SONATA DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING ON VACATION MY KIDS AND I AND IT GAVE ME A WARNING SIGN TO STOP DRIVING PUTTING US ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR 5 HOURS MY HAZARD LIGHTS STOP WORKING AND THE CAR WENT COMPLETELY DEAD AFTER A LONG CRAZY NIGHT TRYING TO GET HELP OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I HAD PUT A NEW ALTERNATOR AND BELT ON BECAUSE THE BELT CAUGHT FIRE BUT IT'S STILL ISN'T STARTING NO ONE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON WHAT DO I DO?
CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AT 68,000 MILES. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT 2011'S WERE RECALLED FOR THIS ITEM BUT NOT 2012'S, SO IT IS A WARRANTY ISSUE, BUT IT WAS BEYOND THE 60,000 MILES FOR WARRANTY. DEALER SAID IT'S "NOT A SAFETY ISSUE" SO I COULD KEEP DRIVING IT UNTIL I HAD THE MONEY TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY LAST NIGHT MY CAR STALLED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS, SOUNDS OR SMELLS COMING FROM THE CAR. AS MY CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER MYSELF TO THE SHOULDER AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART WITH NO SUCCESS. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOME AND TRIED STARTING IT THIS MORNING, NOTHING. IT WOULD CLICK, THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD COME ON BUT STILL WILL NOT START. I CONTACTED BLUE LINK AND THEY TOLD ME ALL SYSTEM WE'RE GREEN ON THEIR END AND COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR AND COULD NOT DO AN ON DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC FOR MY CAR, I WOULD HAVE TO GET IT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO PERFORM THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR, I ACTIVATED THE BLUE LINK PRODUCT 2 DAYS AGO AND NOW THIS HAPPENS. I SEE THERE HAS BEEN 8 RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE BY VISITING THIS WEBSITE. I'VE HAD THIS CAR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. HOW CAN I FIND OUT IF ANY OF THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AND IF ANY OF THE REMAINING RECALLS COULD STALL THE ENGINE. I WAS TOLD ABOUT 2 RECALLS: #174 AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT AND #953 SOFTWARE UPDATE TO ENGINE CONTROL MODULE.

I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT AND NOTICED NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY WITH MY VEHICLE. WHEN I WAS STEPPING AWAY FROM MY CAR AND PUSHED THE LOCK BUTTON THERE WAS NO CLICKING SOUND. I CONTINUED INTO THE BUILDING AND RETURNED TO MY CAR A FEW MINUTES LATER AND IT WOULD NOT START. ALL OF THE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON, BUT THE BRAKE LOCKED UP AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE THE BATTERY WHICH DID NOT WORK. I UNHOOKED THE BATTERY CABLES FOR A PERIOD OF TIME TO RESET THE LOCK SYSTEM AND POSSIBLY UNLOCK THE STARTING SYSTEM, WHICH DID NOT WORK EITHER. IT HAS ONLY BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE I TOOK THIS VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM UPDATED DUE TO ENGINE FAILURE ISSUES IN OTHER VEHICLES. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND IT DOES NOT SHOW FROM WHAT I CAN TELL A RECALL. HOWEVER I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED INTO THEM SO THEY CAN CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS ENGINE FAILURE OR A NUMBER OF RECALL ISSUES THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN AWARE OF.

THERE WHERE ALL LIGHTS LIGHT UP AND BLINKING BEFORE CAR SHUT DOWN. WHILE THERE IS A RECALL FOR CERTAIN HYUNDAI MODELS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. MY FUEL GAUGE IS NO LONGER READING THE FUEL LEVEL. I FILL MY TANK TO FULL AND IT TELL ME THAT I AM EMPTY. FUEL INDICATOR COMES ON AND FUEL GAUGE GOES UP AND DOWN. I HAVE TO MANUALLY CALCULATE AND ESTIMATE HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE LEFT. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON SONATA'S AS THERE ARE MANY OTHERS REPORTING AND IS NOT A RECALL YET.

SHORTLY AFTER THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED FROM A RECALL, THE STEERING STARTED CLICKING AND RATTLING. WORSE ON ROUGHER TERRAIN AND THE INTERSTATE, BUT BASICALLY MAKES THE NOISE WITH ANY MOVEMENT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. IT SEEMS LIKE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, I AM NOT SURE WHY HYUNDAI IS NOT FIXING THIS ISSUE. IT IS PRETTY BAD THAT THIS CAR HAS HAD 8 TO 10 RECALLS.
STARTED HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES, 1: WHEN YOU USE THE BUTTON TO ROLL UP FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW OR PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE THE ELECTRIC TRUNK OPENER WILL POP THE TRUNK OPEN. 2: TROUBLE WITH LOW VOLTAGE TO THE WASTE GATE ACCURATER SENSOR THAT CONTROLS THE TURBOCHARGER UNIT. 3: NUMBER 2 DID NOT START UNTIL TWO OTHER CODES SHOWED UP ON MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THOSE TWO CODES ARE P0011 & P0014. THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. ME AND MY WIFE ARE ON DISABILITY AND CAN NOT AFFORD THE COST OF A DEALERSHIP TO CONTINUE TO TRY TO FIX IT WHEN THEY DON'T EVEN SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

I BELIEVE THIS IS OR SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN READING OVER THE INTERNET AND SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF THIS MAKE AND YEAR MODEL OF HYUNDAI ARE ALSO HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES. ALSO, THERE APPEARS TO BE OIL LEAKAGE BUT WE CANNOT SEE IT. WE HAVE TO ADD OIL TO THE CAR EVERY WEEK, EVEN AFTER WE HAVE HAD AN OIL CHANGE THE WEEK PRIOR. I TOOK IT TO HYUNDAI OF BOWIE WITH THESE SAME ISSUES SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL AND BEFORE THEY COULD CHECK IT OUT, THERE WOULD BE A BILL. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY AND BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE AND MAY BE PART OF THE RECALL.
