MAKES A POPPING SOUND WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. STARTED 3 WEEKS AGO, AT 1ST, IT WAS A QUARTER IN EITHER DIRECTION, WHILE STATIONARY, & HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE TO NOW 1/16 TURN & EVEN SOMETIMES IN MOTION. MY VEHICLE HAS ALMOST 119,000 MILES IT NOW.& I FOUND A STEERING COUPLING RECALL FOR THIS FOR MY VEHICLE,BUT I NEVER RECEIVED ONE, & THE RECALL I FOUND WAS FOR 100,000 MILES. FROM WHAT I READ THIS IS A $5.00 PART & THEY ARE CHARGING $300.00 - $700.00 TO FIX? TO MY KNOWLEDGE I'VE ONLY RECEIVED 4/5 RECALL NOTICES #123, #132 ,#136, #160 & #169. I FOUND A SONATA STEERING COUPLING EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 10 YRS OR 100,00 MILES TXX7 ISSUED ON FEB 27,2017 THAT I NEVER RECEIVED, & SINCE MINE NOW HAS ALMOST 119,000 MILES, IT SHOULD STILL BE COVERED. THEY SAY THIS DEFECT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT IT'S PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE, BUT WHEN THE TY-ROD OR RACK & PINION BREAKS & CAUSES A CRASH..TO ME THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHEN THE CONTACT ENTERED THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS OPEN. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE DOOR, AND CLOSED THE DOOR. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN, THE DOOR REMAINED LOCKED AND THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. IN ADDITION, THE TRACTION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GETTEL HYUNDAI OF SARASOTA (3500 BEE RIDGE RD, SARASOTA, FL 34239, (941) 923-1411) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW DOOR LOCK NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,988.
LIGHTS CONTINUING TO BURN OUT.

THE CONTACT CALLED PEACOCK HYUNDAI HILTON HEAD AT 843-208-1234 (LOCATED AT 51 AUTO MALL BLVD SUITE A, HARDEEVILLE, SC 29927) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.
VERY LOUD CLICKING / POPING NOISE COMING FROM STEERING COLUMN, WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION
STEERING WHEEL MAKES CLICKING SOUND WHEN TURNING AND HAS SLIGHT RESISTANCE.
ABOUT A YEAR AGO I STARTED NOTICING THAT THE STEERING WAS VERY STICKY AND HARD TO TURN ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING WHEELS IN THE SONATA STICK A LITTLE. ABOUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO I STARTED HEARING A CLICKING/POPPING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT. ON SEP 1, 2018 I NOTICED THAT WHEN MY CAR WAS PARKED AND STILL RUNNING THAT MY STEERING WHEEL WAS STICKY AND MAKING A CLICKING/POPPING NOISE. WE BROUGHT IT TO OUR MECHANIC WHICH CHECKED THE FRONT END AND SAID EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD. HE NOTICED THE CLICKING/POPPING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND SAID THIS WAS A SERIOUS ISSUE.. I HAVE HAD MY HYUNDAI FOR 5 YEARS AND IT'S BEEN ONE RECALL AFTER ANOTHER OR THEY ARE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY BECAUSE OF AN ISSUE THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE A RESOLUTION FOR. HYUNDAI SHOULD START TO RECALL THE SONATA'S FOR THIS STEERING WHEEL ISSUE AS I KNOW THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND IT COULD BE SERIOUS.
THE FUEL GAGE DOES NOT REGISTER THEN IT ACTS ERRATICALLY - GOING FROM FULL TO EMPYT TO 1/2 TANK THEN REMAINS ON EMPTY - ALL THIS WITHIN 20 MIN. OF FILLING UP THE TANK. I HAVE READ FORUMS IT IS NOT LIMITED TO MY CAR. THERE ARE MANY HYUNDAI OWNERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS - ITS NOT LIMITED TO SONATA - SANTA FE MODELS REPORTED IT TOO.
CLICKING NOISE IN STEERING COLUMN AND SHAKING STRERING COLUMN AT ALL TIMES
I PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET AND MY CAR REVVED UP BETWEEN 4 AND 5, AND THAN ALL LIGHTS ON DASH LIT UP AND MY CAR DIED. I COASTED INTO PARKING LOT (SAFELY THANKFULLY) AND CAR STARTED SMOKING SO GOT OUT IMMEDIATELY. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHO REPLACED STARTER WHICH WAS WHAT THEY BELIEVED IT TO BE. TURNS OUT IT WAS NOT STARTER IT IS ENGINE THAT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. I LOOKED INTO RECALLS AND CONTACTED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO INFORMED ME THIS ENGINE RECALL HAD BEEN COMPLETED ALREADY. I WAS DIRECTED TO DEALERSHIP TO FOLLOW UP ON WHAT OPTIONS THERE ARE AS 'EXTENDED WARRANTY' ONLY COVERS UP TO 120000 MILES WHICH MY CAR IS OVER. THE REPAIR SHOP I WENT TO MENTIONED THERE WAS NO OIL ON DIPSTICK WHEN CHECKED WHICH IS CONCERNING TO ME AS THAT SEEMS TO BE WHAT RESULT OF RECALL THAT WAS COMPLETED WOULD RESULT IN, ALONG WITH OTHER SYMPTOMS LIKE DASH LIGHTING UP WHICH I READ FROM OTHER REPORTS. I AM ALWAYS UP TO DATE ON GETTING REGULAR OIL CHANGES AT 5000 MILES THEY NOW RECOMMEND INSTEAD OF 3000 MILES (WHICH DEALERSHIP RECORDS WILL SHOW), AND WAS NOT AT 5000 MILE POINT SO THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE. I ALSO DO NOT RECALL BEING INFORMED OF ANY OIL LEAKS OR CONCERNS FOR THIS VEHICLE THAT I WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO KEEP AN EYE ON. I HAVE YET TO FOLLOW UP WITH DEALERSHIP AS IT IS HOLIDAY WEEKEND SO WILL SEE WHAT THEY ARE ABLE TO DO. I WANT TO KNOW WHO TO CONTACT IF A RECALL DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND WHAT NEXT STEPS ARE TO HELP ME AS A CONSUMER WHO ALWAYS TAKES CARE OF CAR. A CARS ENGINE SHOULD NOT BE BAD AT UNDER 130000 MILES AND TOO MANY SIMILAR SYMPTOMS TO NOT HAVE IT FOLLOWED UP ON AND MANUFACTURER TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE REPAIR SHOP FIX IT AND GET REIMBURSED UNLESS HYUNDAI DEALER IS WILLING TO HAVE IT TOWED SO THEY BE RESPONSIBLE AND STRIVE TO PROVIDE HONEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND STAND BEHIND THEIR CAR.
STEERING MAKES A CLICKING NOISE WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, POTHOLES, ETC. DEPENDING ON THE CONDITION OF THE ROAD, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL SHAKE. OCCURS AT ALMOST ANY SPEED (BUT OCCURS LESS DUE TO THE STABILITY AT LOW SPEEDS)
2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. CONSUMER STATES THAT VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING. *LD CONSUMER SENT ADDITIONAL CORRESPONDENCE. *LD *JS
I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 HYUNDIA SONATA DOWN THE ROAD, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE WHOLE CAR SHUT OFF. THIS CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE BRAKES TO FAIL. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND I SMELLED SMOKE. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING, SO I OPENED THE HOOD TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. I SAW A BALL OF FIRE, AND QUICKLY GRABBED MY 4 YEAR OLD AND 10 YEAR OLD OUT OF THE CAR. BY THE TIME I GOT THEM OUT OF THE CAR, THE WHOLE ENGINE BAY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. AFTER TELLING MY STORY, I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PEOPLE REACH OUT TO ME WITH SIMILAR STORIES.

LEE HYUNDAI (1960 SKIBO RD, FAYETTEVILLE, NC 28314, (910) 864-7100) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. WHILE DRIVING, THE ODOR OF FUEL ENTERED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WAS ENGULFED IN A THICK, DARK CLOUD OF SMOKE AND FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. KEFFER HYUNDAI (9010 EAST INDEPENDENCE BLVD, MATTHEWS, NORTH CAROLINA 28105, (704) 343-8238) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 115-743-89. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 103,000.
AFTER MY ENGINE SHORT BLOCK WAS REPLACED THE CAR STARTED TO HAVE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS AND NEXT IS STARTING TO SMELL LIKE ROTTEN EGGS. THE SMELL STARTS WHEN YOU START UP THE CAR COMES THROUGH THE AIR VENTS AND AFTER YOU PARK THE CAR TO STAY AT SMELL STAYS IN THE CAR FOR LEAST 5 HOURS LATER. ALSO THE GAS GAUGE AND THE MILEAGE ARE NOT COINCIDE WITH EACH OTHER ONE SAYS ONE THING AND THE OTHER SAYS ANOTHER MY GAS LIGHT COMES ON AT 56 MILES LEFT TO EMPTY SOMETIMES IT COMES ON THAT 40 SOMETIMES IT COMES ON AT 50
THERE IS A "POPPING" NOISE HEARD IN THE STEERING COLUMN WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT. THIS IS A WELL KNOW ISSUE WITH A PLASTIC BUSHING LOCATED WITHIN THE STEERING COLUMN. THERE ARE NUMEROUS VIDEOS ON THE INTERNET ADDRESSING THIS PROBLEM. THEY ALL DEAL WITH THE SAME PART BEING "CHEWED UP" WITHIN THE STEERING COLUMN.
WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION OR AFTER DRIVING BRIEFLY AFTER A COMPLETE STOP. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT MAY COME ON, OR THE ACTUAL BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD START TO FLICKER FOR NO REASON. THE RPMS ON THE CAR WOULD DROP VERY LOW AND THEN RISE OVER 3000. THE VEHICLE WOULD THEN DECELERATE AND NOT ALLOW TO GO HIGHER THAN 25 MPH. THE ENGINE ALSO MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE. THIS HAS CAUSED TWO NEAR ACCIDENTS ,ONE BEING T-BONED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND ANOTHER ALMOST BEING HIT IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN STATED TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AT LEAST TWICE AND THEY STATE THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG THAT WOULD CAUSE THESE ISSUES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO TAYLOR HYUNDAI OF AUGUSTA EACH TIME TO BE INSPECTED.
THE CAR WILL FREQUENTLY AND RANDOMLY REFUSE TO START RENDERING THE VEHICLE IMOBILE.
TAKATA RECALL. ENGINE LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR HASN'T BEEN WORKING PROPERLY IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS SO I PULLED UP THE VIN NUMBER AND NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAD A FEW RECALLS WENT TO SONATA CFL IN CLERMONT THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIX ANYTHING BECAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON BUT THAT THEY FIXED THE AIRBAG RECALL. SO I'M STILL RUNNING MY CAR, WHICH IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION WITH AN AIRBAG AND ENGINE LIGHT ON. I'M SCARED FOR ME AND MY CHILDREN. I CALLED TODAY AGAIN TO SEEK ASSISTANCE OR SOMEWHAT OF ANSWERS OF WHATS GOING ON. THEY SHARED WITH ME LAST TIME THAT MY CAR HAD TO MANY MILEAGE THAT AT THE TIME HAD ABOUT 120436
HAD BACK LIGHT ISSUES FOR TWO YRS NOW LIGHTS GOING OUT HARNESS BURNING UP HAD ONE RECALL FOR WIRING HARNESS . LIGHTS STILL BURNING OUT DIFFERENT SIDE I BELIEVE I FIXED THE OTHER SIDE NOW HAVING TO REPLACE BULBS ON AND OFF NOW IT'S A MELTED BULB SOCKET THEY REPLACED THE BULBS WITH YOUR BULBS BEEN GOING ON FOR 2 YRS: WAS TOLD THAT MY MECHANIC CAN HEAR A ROD KNOCKING WHEN I WAS GETTING IT SERVICED WROTE IT SHOULD BE FIXED TOOK TO YOUR DEALERSHIP TOLD NOT LOUD ENOUGH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NOT ON TO WAIT TILL IT GOES ON OR IT THROWS A ROD!!!!!! HMM THAT'S SAFE FOR 18 YR OLD,, THEN WHO WILL PAY FOR THE TOWING I LIVE OVER 60 MILES FROM DEALER HOPE IT DOESN'T CATCH ON FIRE WHILE I'M IN IT OR CAUSE A ACCIDENT AND REALLY HURT SOMEONE! CAN'T BELIEVE WE CAN'T DO PREVENTATIVE CARE THIS TO ME IS SO UNSAFE !!! WANT TO KNOW CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK ON THE LIGHT REPAIRS THAT I HAD TO FIX ?
'ENGINE SEIZURE'I WAS DRVING MY 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA (105,000 MILES) ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, AND SUDDENLY AFTER A QUICK PASSING EFFORT BY ME RENDERED THE CAR DEAD, ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND WHILE I WAS MID WAY PASSING THE CAR I HAD TO BREAK A LITTLE AND PULL UP ON THE SIDE (STILL ON THE MAIN ROAD). TURNED OFF THE CAR COMPLETELY AND TRIED TURNING ON, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. GOT IT TOWED TO AN AUTO SHOP AND THE MECHANIC SAID ALL THE ENGINE OIL HAD DRAINED OUT AND THE ENGINE WAS LOCKED OUT. NOW AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE ABOUT 4K MILES/3MONTHS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, AN OIL CHANGE WAS IMMINENTLY NEAR BUT THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AFTER 4K MILES OF AN OIL CHANGE. AFTER READING UP, SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS SONATA, AND MY CAR HAD GONE THROUGH AN ENGINE RECALL AT A DEALERSHIP 9 MONTHS AGO, AND NOTHING GOT PICKED UP THERE. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP. SCARIEST THING IS THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY/VACATION/WITH MY FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE CAR, IT IS NOT A SMALL ISSUE AS IT MIGHT SOUND
I ALWAYS BEEN UP TO DATE WITH MY OIL CHANGE TUNE UP AND EVERYTHING TO TAKE CARE OF MY CAR. ONE DAY MY ENGINE WENT DOES NOT HAVE HIGH MILEAGE. DON'T DRIVE IT FAR. I WAS READING A ARTICULA ABOUT A RECALL BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURING FIX ENGINE PROBLEM. I THINK THAT MY CAR HAS THAT PROBLEM. CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM MY 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. STARTED OFF VERY SOFT POPPING/CLICKING SOUND FEW MONTHS IN IT IS VERY LOUD AND NOW GOING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD IT HAS GOTTEN VERY LOUD. ALSO MAKES SOUND WHEN SITTING AND JUST TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.SOUNDS LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL COULD GIVE OUT AT ANY MOMENT.

STEERING COUPLING WORN OUT CLICKING NOISE AND EXCESS PLAY WHILE TURNING STEERING WHEEL
WHILE DRIVING ON TWO LANE HIGHWAY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAR SMELLED OF BURNING PLASTIC AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM PASSENGER SIDE UNDER HOOD. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER AND MOTOR WAS REPLACED THRU RECALL. ON 8/20 I WAS SCHEDULED TO PICK UP AND WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS HAD MELTED BADLY AND THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. I FILED CASE #11538113 WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE ON 8/20, CITING THAT IT APPEARED TO BE RELATED TO THE MOTOR SEIZING, AND/OR A SAFETY DEFECT. I WAS DENIED ASSISTANCE ON 9/20 AND CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO BEGIN WORK AT MY COSTS. THE CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP AS THEY ARE STATING HYUNDAI CANNOT RELEASE THE WIRING HARNESS. RESEARCH ON WHY BROUGHT ME TO SIMILAR COMPAINTS THE APPEAR TO WARRANT A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS BLOWN AT LESS THEN 60,000 MILES. HYUNDAI OF BEDFORD (18300 ROCKSIDE RD, BEDFORD, OH 44146, (440) 439-0700) STATED THAT THEY WOULD COVER ONLY PART OF THE ENGINE FAILURE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE THAT SHOULD COVER THE ENGINE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

MY SON WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR STATE ROUTE AT 9:30PM WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER, SHORTLY THERE AFTER, IT STALLED OUT, ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WENT ON AND WITHIN 2-3 MINS, SMOKE POURED FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND WITHIN 2 MINS THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS ONE HUGE BLAZE OF FIRE. HE WAS LUCKY TO GET OUT IN TIME. IT WAS VERY TRAUMATIC FOR HIM TO SAY THE LEAST, NOT TO MENTION AS HIS PARENTS, WE WERE ON FACE TIME WITH HIM AFTER HE PULLED OVER AND SAW THIS AS IT WAS HAPPENING AND COULDN'T BE THERE TO ASSIST HIM.

IN THE TWO YEARS IVE HAD THIS CAR THERE HAVE BEEN 3 RECALLS THAT I HAVE GOTTEN TAKEN CARE OF AT SOUTH CHARLOTTE HYUNDAI HERE IN CHARLOTTE, NC. THE DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OUT I CHANGED THE BULBS 4 TIMES IN 6 MONTHS BECAUSE THE TAIL LIGHT WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. I HAVE HAD AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE 3 DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR IN JUNE OF 2016 WHERE MY RADIO FREEZES AND I CANT USE ANY OF THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL OR DASHBOARD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES THEY DONT KNOW THE PROBLEM SO NOW IVE BEEN JUS UNPLUGGING THE FUSE FOR THE RADIO FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS THEN PLUG IT BACK IN AND IT WORKS I GO THROUGH THIS ONCE EVERY OTHER MONTH. THEN MY LEFT HEAD LIGHT HAS GONE OUT, MY LEFT FOG LIGHT WENT OUT, AND NOW MY RIGHT FOG LIGHT HAS WENT OUT. I CHECKED THE BULBS ALL BULBS ARE STILL GOOD THEY JUST DONT WANT TO LIGHT UP. ALSO WHEN I CLOSE MY DOORS MY INTERIOR LIGHTS BLINK LIKE A STROBE LIGHT SO I HAVE TO LEAVE THE SWITCH IN OFF SO THEY DONT COME ON AT ALL. AS I RIDE AROUND THEY CITY EVERY SONATA I SEE HAS A HEAD LIGHT(S) OUT AND TAIL OR BRAKE LIGHTS OUT. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO GET ON THIS ASAP
THERE IS A RECALL ON MY CAR RECALLS ARE #174 AND 160 AND I AM DEALING WITH THESE ISSUES UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE A PROBLEM BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS CAN'T BE FIXED BECAUSE THERE HASN'T BEEN A WAY TO FIX THEM. BUT I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE IS A REAL HARD SHAKING IN AND LOUD AND AGGRESSIVE TAPPING IN THE WHEEL COLUMN MAKES THIS SOUND WHEN U GO TO A CERTAIN SPEED.FOR OVER 60 MPH. THE KNOCKING GOES FAST AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO STEER THE WHEEL ESPECIALLY, ON THE HIGHWAY. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT ALL OF THESE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. GOING TO MEET WITH THE DEALER IN TOMORROW TO SEE HOW I CAN BE ASSISTED WITH THIS ISSUE.

My tail and brake lights sometimes work sometimes doesn't. Rear window brake light stays illuminated when car is turned off causing battery to drain. This problem has been on going for years. I can sometimes wiggle bulbs and make them work for a while but problem has been persistent for too many years. Tired of replacing bulbs.

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO INITIATE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY ONLY THE ON/OFF BUTTON WILL WORK, SHOW WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CRUISE LIGHT ON THE DASH CONSOLE. THE SET AND RESUME BUTTONS WILL ONLY WORK APPROXIMATELY 30% OF THE TIME AND THE CANCEL BUTTON NEVER WORKS. WHEN THE SYSTEM IS ALLOWING ME TO SET IT THE ONLY WAY TO DISENGAGE IT IS VIA THE BRAKE.

I BOUGHT MY SONATA IN JAN 2013. I WENT TO START MY CAR A FEW DAYS AGO AND MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG CAME ON AND WENT OUT LIKE NORMAL BUT THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON MY DASH CAME BACK ON AND IT STAYS LIT WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO WHILE THE CAR IS ON IN A STATIONARY POSITION. BELOW IS A LIST OF ISSUES I'VE HAD WITH MY VEHICLE PERTAINING TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT HAVE ME CONCERNED WITH THE OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THE CAR IS NOT COOLING ITSELF. I HAD FREON PUT IN IT AND IN A DAY'S TIME IT HAD STARTED TO SHOW NO SIGNS THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING IN CAR WAS WORKING.
