SO I WENT TO HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN MCKINNEY TX (HUFFINES HYUNDAI MCKINNEY) AND SHOWED THEM THE RECALL THAT I RECEIVED FROM YOUR WEBSITE, THAT SAYS THE CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT WAS REQUESTED BY MANUFACTURER, AND IF I DON'T REPLACE THEM THE ENGINE MAY GET DAMAGE AND THIS IS SAFETY RISK, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO FIX THIS RECALL AND SAID THAT RECALL NOT READY TO BE REPAIRED AS IT IS NOT LISTED IN HYUNDAI WEBSITE!! CAN YOU PLEASE HELP TO FIND A DEALERSHIP TO FIX THIS RECALL AS IT IS VERY RISK AND I DON'T WANT MY ENGINE TO BE DAMAGED!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EMITTING A FUEL ODOR. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PATRICK HYUNDAI (1020 E. GOLF RD, SCHAUMBURG, IL 60173, (847)230-8294) WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK TO THE RESIDENCE IN MANUAL STEERING MODE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO UNIVERSAL HYUNDAI (12801 SOUTH, ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL, ORLANDO, FL 32837) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000

THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED BACK TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER NOR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT RELATED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 117,000.
A WARNING KEEPS HAPPENING WITH NO CODES IT SAYS TO CHECK BRAKES AND PULL OVER I CAN ONLY GO ABOUT 15 MILES AN HOUR AND THE BRAKES PEDAL HAS A WEIRD GRINDING NOISE LIKE IT'S SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ABS SYSTEM IT IS VERY SCARY AND IT DOES IT INTERMITTENTLY
WENT TO START CAR ON WED AN WAS MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE. SHUT IT OFF AND CHECK FLUIDS AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER AND THE INSPECTED IT. TOLD ME IT WAS METAL IN THE ENGINE AND MOTOR WAS SHOT. WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE $14000 FOR A NEW ENGINE OUT OF MY POCKET. THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE RECALL AND NOW MY CAR IS DISABLED. I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE UNTIL THIS MATTER IS RESOLVED. I HAVE VIDEO FROM THE DEALER BUT IT WONT LET ME SEND IT FOR MY REPORT.
BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH PLUNGER DOES NOT RETRACT AS IT SHOULD WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT BEING PRESSED, CAR LOOSES ACCELERATION AND LOOSES POWER. WHEN DRIVING ON CRUISE CONTROL, BREAK WILL DEPRESS AND TURN CRUISE OFF AND ON IN DASH.
THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN ON ITS OWN AND WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO REV UP EVEN WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL DOWN. ALSO THE LIGHT FOR TRACTION CONTROL TURNS ON AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT WHETHER THE CAR IS ON OR OFF.
I HAVE DONE AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WITH HYUNDAI THAT PROVES MY OIL IS BURNING EXTREMELY FAST. IT ALSO STALLS AND THE ACCELERATION HAS SLOWED DOWN. WHEN COSTARRING UP THE CAR IT SOUNDS LOUD. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2020. AS OF FEB. 2021 HYUNDAI STATED THAT MY PROBLEM WITH MY ENGINE WILL NOT BE SOLVED BECAUSE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION.
STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, GEAR IN DRIVE AND THE BRAKE DEPRESSED, BUT THE ENGINE STARTED TO REV AND LURCH FORWARD--WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE. MOVED FORWARD A COUPLE OF FEET WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE FOOT BRAKE BUT FINALLY CAME TO A STOP ON ITS OWN.
MY CAR ENGINE JUST STOPPED WORKING ON ME. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN MY OIL LIGHT AND THE CAR WOULDN'T TURN ON. CAR WAS STATIONARY
THIS CAR HAS HAD EPISODES OF THE ENGINE DYING WHILE DRIVING AT LEAST SINCE 2014. MY FATHER, THE PRIMARY DRIVER AND CARETAKER OF THE CAR HAS NEVER RECEIVED ANY MENTION OF A HYUNDAI RECALL FOR THIS. THIS SAME EVENT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AGAIN, AND EVERY MECHANIC WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO FOR REPAIR CONCLUDES THAT THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE IT. THIS IS ALSO THE CONSENSUS FROM OUR LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALSHIP MECHANICS.THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE!!! IT HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE SHOP AT THE HYUNDAI DEALSHIP FOR OVER A WEEK NOW. HYUNDA CUSTOMER CUSTOMER CARE HAS TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING, BECAUSE THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM IS DOWN. SO, HERE WE ARE, WITHOUT THE CAR,AND NO ANSWERS. MY FATHER DIED IN 2019, BUT HE KEPT EVERY PIECE OF PAPERWORK FOR THAT CAR, INCLUDING RECALLS FOR THE AIR BAG, SEAT BELTS, ETC. HE HAD EVERYTHING FIXED THAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED ON THAT CAR, AND THERE IS NO RECORD OF A RECALL SENT TO HIM REGARDING THE RECALL I MENTIONED.
ON THUR FEB 11TH ON MY WAY TO WORK MY VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED. I CALLED OIT OF WORK BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE CODE FOR MISFIRE IN CILINDER 4 CAME.UP. TAKEN TO A MECHANIC HE CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND COIL, SAID THERE IS NO COMPRESSION COMING FROM THE 4TH CYLINDER TELLS ME THIS HAS BEEN COMON FOR THE 2.0 TOLD ME ILL NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT SUDDENLY PUTTED AND STARTED TO LOSE POWER. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE DUE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE.
VEHICLE IN MOTION, LESS THAN 40 MPH ON A CITY STREET WITH A SLIGHT INCLINE, LESS THAN THREE MILES FROM HOME. VEHICLE STARTED TO OPERATE SLUGGISHLY WITHOUT WARNING, WITH LACK OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, ACCELERATION SEVERELY DECREASED AND WAS UNABLE TO GO OVER 20 MPH (CAR WAS PLACED IN LIMP/ENGINE PROTECTION MODE). I SLOWLY DROVE THE CAR HOME AND WAS ABLE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE. CONNECTED ON OBD2 SCANNER AND IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED A DTC P1326; INDICATING THE KNOCK SENSOR DETECTION SYSTEM PLACED THE CAR IN LIMP MODE DUE TO A DETECTED KNOCK/VIBRATION IN THE MOTOR. FURTHER RESEARCH PROVED SERVICE CAMPAIGN 953 (TSB 19-01-002H-1) WAS ALREADY OPENED IN LATE 2018 TO HELP RESOLVE THE P1326 ISSUE AND MANY 2011-2018 SONATAS WERE RECALLED TO GET A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE KSDS; AS AN EARLY PREVENTIVE MEASURE FOR POSSIBLE FAULTY BEARINGS/RODS IN THE MOTOR. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO GET THE KSDS SOFTWARE UPDATE AFTER RECEIVING THE P1326 DTC. THE SERVICE TECH SAID MY VIN WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL OR CAMPAIGN AND CHARGED ME $173 TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AND CLEAR LIMP MODE. THE HYUNDAI TSB CLEARLY STATES THIS UPDATE IS FREE TO THE CUSTOMER AND APPLIES TO ALL SONATAS FROM 2011-2018; REGARDLESS IF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL.
FOR 6 MONTHS I HAVE RECEIVED EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION "HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING! SAFELY STOP AND DO NOT DRIVE" ALSO "CHECK BRAKES" MOST RECENTLY THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE DRIVING 65MPH AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. MOST OFTEN THIS OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS LOOKED AT IT TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE SECOND TIME THEY WERE "UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM" AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AS THE CAR LOST POWER WHILE ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WHEN THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON THE BRAKES MUST BE FULLY PRESSED DOWN TO ENGAGE. I FILED A CASE WITH HYUNDAI BUT HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE IN TWO WEEKS
2012 HYUNDAI SONATA ON MAY 8,2020 HYUNDAI REPLACED MY ENGINE DUE TO A RECALL .ON AUGUST 18,2020 I HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SMELL OF GAS THAT I SMELLED IN MY CAR . THEY INSPECTED MY VEHICLE AND SAID IT WAS FINE . BUT EVERY SO OFTEN I KEPT SMELLING GAS INSIDE MY CAR BUT NO ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY LIGHT TURNED ON AND PLUS I THOUGHT IT WAS FINE SINCE HYUNDAI INSPECTED MY CAR BUT FEBRUARY 4, 2021 I WAS PARKED WITH MY VEHICLE RUNNING AND THE FUEL SMELL STARTED GETTING WORSE , ENTERING MY VEHICLE THROUGH THE AIR VENT. MY VEHICLE WOULD SMELL LIKE GAS EVEN WHEN IT WAS TURNED OFF . SO I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND I HEARD LOUD BOILING BUBBLE NOISES INSIDE MY CAR WHICH IS STRANGE. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES TURNED MY CAR ON AND THEN MY THERMOSTAT MAXED OUT ALL THE WAY TO HOT SO I SHUT MY CAR OFF . I CALLLED HYUNDAI & TOOK MY CAR TO THE PALM SPRINGS DEALERSHIP AND THEY INSPECTED IT AND TOLD ME THAT IT'S THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE . MY VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD $1000.00 TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT'S A RECALL. ESPECIALLY SINCE I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE GAS SMELL ON AUGUST 2020 . ALSO MY RIGHT TAIL LIGHT IS COMPLETELY OUT . I REPLACED THE BULBS MULTIPLE TIMES BUT IT ENDED UP BURNING OUT . THE WIRES ARE BURNT AND MELTED. THIS IS CAR IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS .
AS I WAS PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, THE THROTTLE WENT UNRESPONSIVE. I PUMPED THE ACCELERATOR THREE OR FOUR TIMES AND THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD THEN BEGIN DRIVING NORMALLY. THERE WAS NO "CHECK ENGINE " OR OTHER WARNING. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND THEY HOOKED IT TO A OBD AND DROVE IT, TO NO AVAIL. HAS THEREIN A ANY REPORT OF THIS PROBLEM BY OTHER OWENERS???
DRIVER'S SEATBELT WOULD NOT LATCH. QUOTED REPAIR COST (FOR REPLACEMENT) AT THE DEALERSHIP OF $337.58. IT WOULD TAKE OFTEN MORE THAN A DOZEN ATTEMPTS TO GET THE LATCH TO ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME.
I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THIS RECALL DUE TO THE FACT THAT I CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN MY CAR AND I'M JUST TRYING TO BE SAFER WHILE DRIVING SO IF I CAN GET ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS THAT WOULD BE GREAT

I keep getting this error message Hybrid System Warning! Safely Stop and Do not Drive with the caution symbol. I have take it to the dealership 5 times and they do not see anything wrong. Usually the message flash for a few seconds and then go away. Today it did something different. The display keep alternating with Check charging system and Hybrid System Warning! Safely Stop and Do not Drive along with a beeping sound. I had to pull over and restart the car. I travel in rural areas for work, and I am so afraid my car is going to stop in the middle on nowhere. When I googled the error message it appears so many other Sonata owners from 2011-2014 are experiencing the same problem. I have reported this to Hyundai warranty, but when they contact the dealership, they tell them nothing is wrong with my car. Please advise of what to do.
COULD NOT START CAR PARKED IN THE GARAGE, AND FAULT DRAINED BATTERY. WARNING LIGHTS SAID DO NOT OPERATE CAR HYBRID SYSTEM NOT FUNCTIONING. HAVE CAR TOWED. ALSO HAD BRAKE WARING LIGHT LIGHT UP ON DASH. HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED. GOOD THING THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING BUT WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR. DEALER REPORTED THAT ABS MODULE FAILED. 57,200 MILES ON VEHICLE. REPAIR COST ESTIMATE IS OVER $3,200.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR MAKES AN AWFUL BEEPING NOISE AND SAYS HYBRID SYSTEM MALFUNCTION SAFELY STOP AND DO NOT DRIVE AND THE BRAKE LIGHT IS ON IN THE DASH. WHILE ALL BRAKE FUNCTION IS SUDDENLY GONE AND I HAVE TO STOP WITH THE E-BRAKE. THIS HAPPENED BOTH ON THE CITY STREETS COUNTRY HIGHWAYS AND FREEWAYS AT RANDOM TIMES. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE HYDROLIC BRAKE PUMP. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE NOVEMBER.
The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that after fully refilling the gas tank at the gas station, and driving at 40-55 MPH, he smelled a strong gasoline odor inside the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle. Upon investigating the failure, the contact noticed that each time he fully refilled the gas tank, in addition to the smell, the vehicle would shudder for 3-5 min while driving. Additionally, the contact noticed that gas was leaking onto the driver's side rear wheel well whenever the gas tank was fully refilled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with evap failure. The dealer informed the contact to check his gas cap; however, the contact stated that the fuel cap was new and was a manufacturer-approved gas cap. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V121000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 94,750.
MY CAR HAS AND WAS SERVICED ON THE AIR BAG BEFORE AND ONCE AGAIN OUT OF THE BLUE THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON , NO CHANGES HAVE OCCURED WITH THE VEHICLE , NO ACCIDENTS NOTHING NEW AND I HAVE CHECK THE WEBSITE PERIODICALLY TO SEE IF ANYTHING CHANGE

THEN CONTINUED WHEN GOT OFF EXIT AND REDUCED SPEED THEN STOP CAR WARNING LIGHT APPEARS. TURNED CAR OFF WAITED THEN PROBLEM WENT AWAY AFTER TAKING TO DEALERSHIP THEY SAID COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. SAME ISSUE THIS TIME WAS WITH MY WIFE AND KID ON WEDDING DAY. PLEASE HELP US!!!
BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHTS GO OUT A LOT AND NEED TO BE REPLACED TO OFTEN. THE DRIVER SIDE BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHT ARE OUT NOW AND WHEN THE BULB BLEW, IT MELTED THE HOUSING ELEMENT AND CAN'T GET A NEW BULB IN IT. SO NOW THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED WITH ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHTS.

WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY TO SEE IF THEY WILL COVER IT. WE HAVE MAINTAINED THE ENGINE WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES

I HAD A VERY SCARY INCIDENT FRIDAY NIGHT, 12/18/20 ABOUT 8:30PM. I WAS ABOUT TO MERGE ONTO THE 5 FWY NORTH TO GO HOME, AND AS I AM COMING OUT OF THE TURN, AND ACCELERATING TO ANTICIPATE THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, I SEE A BIG RIG IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR IN THE DISTANCE. NATURALLY, I STEP ON THE GAS TO PUNCH IT, TO GIVE MYSELF AND THE RIG PLENTY OF DISTANCE AS TO NOT COLLIDE. MY CAR REVVED UP AND DECELERATES TO ABOUT 2MPH . I PANICKED AND MANAGED TO COAST THE CAR TO THE SHOULDER AS FAR RIGHT AS I COULD AND THE RIG BARRELS DOWN PAST ME. I WAS AFRAID TO COMPLETELY STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE FWY, AND THE CAR LASTED LONG ENOUGH TO COAST TO THE NEXT EXIT. I AM ABLE TO CONTINUE STEERING MY CAR CLOSE TO THE SHOULDER AT A CRAWLING PACE, AND TURNED ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. I HAD PEOPLE MAD BEHIND ME, BUT I COULD NOT SPEED UP. I MANAGED TO COAST TO THE NEAREST EXIT, COME DOWN THE RAMP, AND STOP BRIEFLY WITH JUST ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO STEER LEFT ONTO TELEGRAPH IN COMMERCE, AND MY CAR COMPLETELY DIES IN THE FIRST LANE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY CAR JUST DIES ON ME WHILE I AM DRIVING! FIRST TIME WAS THREE YEARS AGO IN DECEMBER 2017 . THE CAR HAD INITIALLY DIED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE AROUND IN A CAR THAT HAS REPEATED RECALLS FOR VARIOUS ISSUES. I ALSO DON'T WANT TO WORRY OF MY CAR DYING ON ME A THIRD TIME. MY SONATA IS CURRENTLY AT DOWNEY HYUNDAI AND THEY HAVE STARTED DIAGNOSTICS AND WILL HAVE A BETTER READING AS TO WHAT HAPPENED. I HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLE AND WORRIED FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF ANY PASSENGERS I MAY HAVE WITH ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH OR HIGHER, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE AND MAKE LOUD NOISES WHILE TURNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FAULKNER HYUNDAI PHILADELPHIA (11500 ROOSEVELT BLVD, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19116) WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER BEING INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V934000 (ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE DEALER DECLINED TO REPAIR THE RECALL BECAUSE THE CONTACT DID NOT WANT TO PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.*DT*JB
12/12/2020 AT 7:00AM LESS THAN A MILE FROM HOME MY CAR STALLED ON A COUNTRY ROAD. AS I WAS GOING UP THE HILL I HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE. WHEN I REACHED TO THE TOP OF THE HILL THE CAR LOST POWER AND ALL OF THE LIGHTS/SYMBOLS ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON. THE CAR COASTED AND THEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR, TESTED THE BATTERY AND CHECK THE OIL DIP STICK. THERE WAS NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK. SOON AFTER SOMEONE SAID THE COULD SEE SMOKE AND SMELL AN ACRID ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE AUTHORIZED HYUNDAI DEALER. THIS DEALER DOES MY VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGES.THEY TOLD ME THE VEHICLE NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THE RECALL OR GIVING ME A LOANER/RENTAL CAR. I WAS TOLD IT COULD TAKE WEEKS OR MONTHS FOR A NEW ENGINE TO COME FROM PR, USA OR KOREA. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER HAS NOT TOLD ME HOW THE PROCESS WORKS. ONLY THAT THE REPAIR WILL BE COVERED AT NO COST TO ME.
MY CAR STOPPED IN DECEMBER 2020. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE UNDER A RECALL CAMPAIGN. EIGHT MONTHS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE COUNTLESS DIAGNOSIS OF THE ISSUES AND STILL CANNOT RESOLVE IT. THE LATEST ERROR MESSAGE IS ENGINE ERROR CODE P0076. I AM STILL AWAITING THE PART TO FIX THE ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. HOWEVER, THE FUEL CONSUMPTION HAS INCREASED. I DRIVE SHORT DISTANCES AND NOW THE FUEL INDICATOR MOVES EACH DAY I DRIVE THE CAR. WON'T BUY THIS BRAND AGAIN.
My vehicle stopped in December 2020. The dealer, Hyundai of PR, did not issue a recall for this issue. I could have been driving on the highway and loss power. THIS IS DANGEROUS. The manufacturer should be Required to notify all affected Hyundai Sonata owners via all types of media. If I hadn't known about this recall I would have paid for an engine out of my pocket.

I HAVE TAKE IT TO MIKE MORGAN HYUANDI IN LOUISIANA WHERE THE MECHANIC CLEARLY TELLS ME THEY FEEL THE MISFIRE AND SMELL THE EXHAUST BUT NO ENGINE LIGHTS ARE ON SO NO CODES CAN BE READ AND THEY CANT DO ANYTHING. HE EVEN TOLD ME IF I'M DRIVING AND THE CAR STALLS TRY TO GET A VIDEO OF THE RPMS OF WHAT THE CAR IS DOING AND READING DURING THAT TIME SO HE CAN HAVE SOMETHING TO GO OFF OF, BOY HOW UNSAFE WAS THAT ADVICE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO GATEWAY AS WELL AS A LOCAL MECHANIC ALL WHO HAS PUT IT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE YET STILL NOONE CAN FIND THE ISSUE BECAUSE AGAIN IT HAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON SO WHAT DO I DO. I DONT HAVE MONEY TO JUST BUY PARTS AND HOPE THAT FIXES IT. THE CAR DRINKS OIL BUT THERE IS NO VISIBLE OIL LEAKS. NO DROPPINGS IN MY DRIVE WAY. SOME ONE TOLD ME THE PCV VALVE MAY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED BUT AGAIN I DONT HAVE MONEY TO KEEP CHANGING OUT PARTS HOPING THATS IT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND I FEEL HYUANDI NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING BECAUSE IT'S NOTHING THAT ALL CONSUMERS ARE DOING WRONG THE MOTORS ARE JUST NO GOOD
LOUD BEEPING ALARM GOES OFF, THE POWER BEHIND THE GAS PEDAL STARTS TO DECREASE AND BREAKS START TO MAKE A TERRIBLE GRINDING SOUND. THE SCREEN SAYS TO STOP SO I HAVE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. EVEN AFTER I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON THE YELLOW '(!)' SIGN WAS STILL FLASHING AND THE BEEPING ALARM STARTED AGAIN. THE SCREEN SAYS 'HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING...' THEN CHANGES TO 'CHECK BRAKES'. THE RED EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY. IT HAS DONE THIS 3 TIMES IN PAST 4 DAYS.

THE CAR IS UNDER RECALL FOR ROD BEARINGS BUT THE HYUNDAI CORPORATION HAS NOT AUTHORIZED THE FIX. THE PAPER THAT I RECEIVED FROM HYUNDAI STATES WHAT THE FIX IS (KNOW SENSOR). IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE TO THE CAR BUT NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN TO PROCEED WITH THE KNOWN FIX. THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED IS DEC 2020. I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF INCIDENTS WHERE THE CHECK ENGINE HAS BEEN ACTIVATED WHEN DRIVING. WHEN I TAKE TO THE DEALER, THEY ALWAYS FIND AN UNRELATED PROBLEM WHICH TO ME SEEMS SUSPICIOUS. I DO NOT WHETHER TO SELL THE CAR OR KEEP WAITING FOR THE ALREADY KNOWN FIX. MY CAR HAS BEEN SERVICES AT MISSION HILLS, HYUNDAI.

THE CATALYST CONVERSION IS NOT WORKING RIGHT I HAVE CHANGE IT AND IT STILL HAVE GAS SMELLS COME INTO THE CAR.
AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON UNEXPECTEDLY DUE TO A SENSOR HAVING GONE BAD. VEHICLE WAS NEVER IN A CRASH.
ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO CONNECTING ROD COMING LOSE AND CAUSING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
I NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE STILL ON AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF IN THE GARAGE. ON FURTHER INSPECTION THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH STOPPER HAD DISINTEGRATED AND WAS NO LONGER DEPRESSING THE SWITCH. THE VEHICLE COULD SHIFT OUT OF GEAR WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNTIL THIS WAS REPAIRED. THIS WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED IN 2016 UNDER A RECALL FOR A SIMILAR FAILURE. I DROVE A SEPARATE VEHICLE TO OBTAIN A REPLACEMENT PART AND THE PROBLEM IS NOW FIXED. THERE WAS NO WARNING BEFORE FAILURE.
SOMETIMES WHEN I PRESS THE GAS, THE CAR WILL BASICALLY TAKE AN EXTRA SECOND TO SPEED UP, AND PROBABLY 70% OF THE TIMES THAT I PRESS THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN OR COME TO A STOP, ITLL (ALSO) TAKE AN EXTRA SECOND AND ITLL STALL/JERK 1 TIME, THEN FINISH SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING....ITS GRADUALLY BEEN GETTING WORSE AS TIME PASSES...THE ENGINE NEEDS SOME WORK DEFINITELY! (I'LL FEEL MUCH MORE SAFE AFTER THIS ENGINE RECALL IS FIXED!)
