SCC REFUSES TO COME ON SAYING SCC CONDITIONS NOT MET. WHEN IT DOES COME ON IT TURNS OFF BY ITSELF SAYING SCC CONDITIONS NOT MET OR CHECK SCC RADAR. SOMETIMES DOES NOT DETECT VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. GOES IN AND OUT BETWEEN DETECTING VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND NOT DETECTING IT. RANDOMLY SAYS CHECK SCC RADAR. DOES NOT STAY ENGAGE, TURNS OFF BY ITSELF, WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ONTO INTERSTATE 85 IN ATLANTA, THE CAR HESITATED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AT THE SAME TIME, AN ALARM BEGAN TO CHIME AND ONCE I AVOIDED A COLLISION, I NOTICED A FLASHING ENGINE SYMBOL ON THE DASH. AT THIS CRITICAL TIME I WAS "LUCKY" TO HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN A FATAL CAR ACCIDENT. THE CAR LIMPED TO THE AUTOZONE AND P01326 WAS DISCOVERED. THE AZ EMPLOYEE AND THE LONGTIME MANAGER SAID THEY WERE SURPRISED WHEN THE CODE DID NOT PULL UP ANY INFO IN THE DATABASE. I RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND SOME INFORMATION AND THE 2 MINUTE HYUNDAI VIDEO ON THE BEARINGS, CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE, POTENTIAL FIRE AND THE KNOCK SENSOR. SOUTHTOWNE HYUNDAI SAID IT WAS A WIRING PROBLEM AND RESET THE CODE. I ASKED IF THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID YES BUT WITHIN 5 MILES OF LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I HAVE SENT SEVERAL EMAILS TO THE SE REGIONAL MANAGER, STEVE FLOOD, AND SOUTHTOWNE'S GM, CHARLIE SIMMONS, BUT THEY HAVE NOT REPLIED. THEIR UNDERLINGS HAVE. I HAVE LOST FAITH IN THE VEHICLE AND BELIEVE IT (AND OTHER HYUNDAI CARS) IS UNSAFE.
ON A SUNDAY MORNING I HAD TETHERED MY DOG IN THE BACK SEAT TO TAKE HIM TO THE GROOMERS. I CRANKED THE CAR AND REALIZED I LEFT SOMETHING IN THE HOUSE. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND WE STRAIGHT IN AND GO THE ITEM I NEEDED AND EXITED MY PATIO DOORS, TURNED AROUND TO PULL BLINDS CLOSED AND TO MY AMAZEMENT SAW THAT VEHICLE WAS MISSING. AS I TURNED AROUND, I SAW MY VEHICLE TRAVELING BACKWARDS WITH MY DOG SEATED IN THE BACKSEAT 100 FT OR MORE AWAY FROM ME. THERE WAS NO RUNNING TO GET TO IT TO STOP IT. THE DRIVERS DOOR WAS OPEN AND THE CAR WAS HEADED TO THE MAIN ROAD. THE DOOR OF THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THE POSITION I LEFT IT WHEN I HAD EXITED THE CAR HOWEVER WAS STRIPPED OFF THE CAR BY THE CEDAR TREE, THE CAR WENT INTO THE DITCH WITH MY DOG AND STOPPED THERE. THE GEAR SHIFT SEEMED TO BE IN AN ODD POSITION BEST I CAN REMEMBER AND IT WAS NOT IN THE PARK POSITION NOR DO I BELIEVE IT WAS IN REVERSE POSITION EITHER. I WAS STUNNED AND ALARMED SO I CANNOT SAY MY MEMORY IS EXACT ON THIS AS I WAS FOCUSED ON ENSURING THE CAR WOULD NOT FURTHER. I WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE BACK DOOR AND TOOK MY DOG OFF THE TETHER. HAD A WRECKER GET IT OUT OF THE DITCH AND TAKE IT TO THE COLLISION CENTER WHERE THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE INTERIOR PANEL OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR, THE WHOLE DOOR AS IT WAS RIPPED FROM THE HINGES AND REPLACED THE FRONT FENDER AS WELL. THANKFUL THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN IN A PARKING LOT WHERE A CHILD OR ELDERLY PERSON, OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER COULD HAVE BEEN RUN OVER. I HOPE THIS COMPAINT GETS SOME ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING ON LEVEL GROUND WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO MOTION TO INDICATE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. MY CAR WHEN PUT IN REVERSE WILL NOT GET YOU TIME TO GET OUT. YOU MUST HIT THE BRAKE. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED. I WILL UPLOAD PICTURES OF THE CRASH WHEN I GET INTERNET SERVICE TO MY PHONE.

THE CONTACT HAD TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT TRIED TO CALL THE LOCAL DEALER (GETTEL HYUNDAI OF CHARLOTTE COUNTY LOCATED AT 1950 TAMIAMI TRAIL, PUNTA GORDA, FL 33950, (941) 347-6626) BUT HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED BACK AFTER LEAVING A VOICEMAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
2015 HYUNDAI SONATA SPORT 2.0T LIMITED LEAKING OIL FROM THE THETA 2.0 TURBO OIL FEED HOSE. HYUNDAI ISSUED A SERVICE CAMPAIGN T1N FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM FOR THEIR 2011-2014 SONATA 2.0T MODELS. I AM HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH MY 2015 AND THEIR IS NO RECALL. THE DEALER SAID IT WILL COST CLOSE TO $3000 TO FIX IT.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE BSD SYSIEM STARTED BLINKING ON AND OFF. THE NEXT MORNING IT STAYED ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND AFTER TWO HOURS THE SERVICE MAN CAME IN AND TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM BUT THEY THOUGHT IT WOULD BE BEHIND THE REAR BUMPER. THEY WANTED ME TO PAY $150 TO REMOVE THE REAR BUMPER TO CHECK IT. HE SAID IF IT WAS A PROBLEM THERE I WOULD MOST LIKELY HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AS IT WAS LIKELY MY FAULT. I REFUSED TO DO SO AS I FELT IT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE WARANTY. I NO LONGER HAVE A FUNCTIONAL BLIND SIDE DETECTER. TO DETECT TRAFFIC IN MY DRIVER SIDE BLIND SPOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHEN THE CONTACT'S SON ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, HE COULD NOT GET THE GEAR OUT OF PARK. ALSO, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND WOULD NOT MOVE. MOST OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HYUNDAI OF GRIER (14435 E WADE HAMPTON BLVD, GREER, SC 29651, (864) 334-4347) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE CLUSTER OR POWER STEERING MAY NEED TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
I WAS IN MOTION (JUST COMING OUT OF A STEEP CANYON ON AN INTERSTATE/HIGHWAY) AND SUDDENLY THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED. THE CHECK OIL, CHECK ENGINE, AND CHECK BATTERY LIGHTS FLASHED BECAUSE MY IGNITION WAS STILL ON, BUT I HAD TO TRY TO COAST TO A SAFE STOP. NO WARNING, NO OVERHEATING, NO ISSUES WITH BATTERY OR OIL OR OTHER FLUIDS. THE ENGINE JUST SQUEAKS FAINTLY WHEN I TURN THE KEY AND WON'T TURN OVER.
ON OR ABOUT 3/15/2015, PURCHASED A NEW 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. MAINTAINED OIL CHANGES IN ACCORDANCE WITH "NORMAL MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE" AS DESCRIBED IN OWNER'S MANUAL. IN 5/2019, WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, VEHICLE BEGAN SPUTTERING, KNOCKING AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS TOLD ENGINE "THREW A ROD" AND PUNCHED A HOLE IN THE ENGINE AND NOW ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL ODOR OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO RESIDENCE WITH THE WINDOW ROLLED DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HYUNDAI OF LAS VEGAS LOCATED AT 7150 W. SAHARA AVE, LAS VEGAS, NV 89117, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS AND FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CAR BEGAN SHAKING AND ENGINE SHUT OFF. THIS HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER POWERING ENGINE ON AFTER FUELING UP. PRESSED GAS TO ACCELERATE TO LEAVE GAS AREA AND CAR SHOOK AND TURNED OFF. PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL POWERED THE CAR ON AND CAR STARTED.
I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE MAY HAVE A FAULTY HEADLIGHT/SIGNALING SWITCH. WHENEVER I AM DRIVING IT WILL RANDOMLY SWITCH BETWEEN THE MODES OF DRL, HEADLIGHTS OR JUST OFF COMPLETELY. ANOTHER ISSUE I HAVE MORE OFTEN THEN NOT IS WHEN I AM TRYING TO SIGNAL THE BLINKERS WILL NOT TURN ON AT ALL, AND WHEN THEY DO ITS ABOUT 30SEC TO A MINUTE AFTER I INITIALLY MOVED THE SWITCH MYSELF. ALL THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION, LASTLY THEIR HAVE BEEN THREE OCCASIONS WHERE I HAVE TURNED MY CAR OFF COMPLETELY AND THEN CAME BACK HOURS LATER TO FIND THAT THE DRL LIGHTS HAD TURNED ON ON THEIR OWN, 1 OUT OF THE 3 TIMES SO FAR THIS ISSUE HAS DRAINED MY BATTERY. I FEEL LIKE THIS MIGHT BE A ISSUE WITH THE WIRING INSIDE THE SWITCH.
WHILE COMING TO A RED LIGHT CAR ENGINE REVVED VERY HIGH AND I HAD A HARD TIME BRAKING. AT RED LIGHT I PUT CAR INTO NEUTRAL BUT THE ENGINE STILL WAS REVVING HIGH. I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE AND DROVE IT BACK HOME LESS THAN HALF A MILE AWAY.
ON A 2-WAY CITY STREET, VEHICLE IN STRAIGHT FORWARD MOTION WHEN IT ABRUPTLY STOPPED WORKING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR WAS TOWED. RESULT WAS SERVICE CAMPAIGN #18-01-032, T3G, ENGINE DTC - P1326. CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE 5/7/19, FOR OVER 3 WEEKS WITH NO REPAIRS MADE.
SHORTLY AFTER BUYING THIS CAR CAR AT 32.000, I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING. THE STEERING HAS DEAD SPOTS AND FEELS EXTREMELY LOOSE, IT IS VERY STRESSFUL KEEPING THE CAR STRAIT ON THE HIGHWAY AS IT IS ALL OVER THE ROAD. THE STEERING LIGHT COMES ON BUT THE DEALERS ALWAYS TELL ME "WE CAN'T FIND ANY CODES". THERE WAS A LOUD WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS AN "ELECTRICAL" SOUND IN THE FRONT END WHILE STEERING AS SERVICE MANAGER AT TAMERON HYUNDAI PUT, WITH THE STEERING LIGHT COMING ON ONE WOULD THINK TO CHECK THAT BUT THEY PUT NEW STRUTS ON IT, WHICH HAS MADE THE PROBLEM 1000X WORSE NOW THE ALIGNMENT IS OFF WHICH WITH THE STEERING MAKE IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. I PUT NEW TIRES ON IT LESS THAN A YEAR AGO THAT HAVE LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON THEM AND HAVE ROTATED THEM TWICE AT 5,000 MILES THE ALIGNMENT IS SO BAD THAT ONE TIRE IS NOW BALD! EVERY TIME I GO TO A DEALER THEY REFUSE TO HELP. I'M PUTTING THIS HERE IN CASE I DIE IN THIS CAR! ALSO THE ENGINE HESITATES AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN STARTING. THE SHAKING IS WHEN IT IDEALS, BUT ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS IT "PULSES" AND HESITATE WHILE ACCELERATING (I HARDLY GET A CHANCE TO TEST TO SEE HOW BAD THE HESITATION IS BECAUSE THE STEERING IS SO LOSE) I AM NOW FINDING OUT THE 2015 SONATA ENGINE IS EFFECTED BY THE MASSIVE DEFECT THEY HAVE HAD IN 2011- 2014 MODELS BUT ARE NOT MAKING IT PUBLICLY KNOWN. ONE WOULD THINK WITH ALL THE STEERING AND ENGINE PROBLEMS HYUNDAI HAS HAD IN THE PAST SONATA'S THEY WOULD TAKE THIS SERIOUS. ALL THEY DO IS BLAME CUSTOMERS, IF YOU CALL THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT LINE THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY CLOSED YOUR CASE IN LESS THAN A DAY WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE CAR. I HOPE THE GOVERNMENT GETS THIS COMPANY UNDER CONTROL FOR CONSUMERS SAKE AND SAFETY SAKE.
MY HEADLIGHTS IN MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. I DO NOT KNOW THE CAUSE. IT BEGAN AROUND 30K MILES. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE SINCE THE ISSUE DOES NOT OCCUR WHILE STATIONARY. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF FOR ABOUT 4 TO 45 SECONDS, ANYWHERE FROM 0 - 6 TIMES IN A 25 MINUTE PERIOD WHILE DRIVING. THIS DOES NOT NECESSARILY AFFECT DAY TIME DRIVING HOWEVER, IS A SERIOUS ISSUE DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING.

WHENEVER IT RAINS THE STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER STOPS RESPONDING OR BECOMES HARD TO STEER. I PUT NEW TIRES ON IT LESS THAN A YEAR AGO THAT HAVE LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON THEM AND HAVE ROTATED THEM TWICE AT 5,000 MILES THE ALIGNMENT IS SO BAD THAT ONE TIRE IS NOW BALD! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HUDSON HYUNDAI (977 COMMUNIPAW AVE, JERSEY CITY, NJ 07304) AND LYNNES HYUNDAI (401 BLOOMFIELD AVE, BLOOMFIELD, NJ 07003) WHERE OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS WERE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL. THE DEALERS INFORMED HIM THAT HE SHOULD ADD OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
BSD ISSUE LIGHT IS ON, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, ABS LIGHT. DEALER SAID RIGHT REAR HUB SENSOR WAS FAULTY. HAD THIS REPLACED AND DIDN'T FIX PROBLEM. WAS CHARGED $136 JUST TO DIAGNOSE ISSUE BUT CHANGING THE RIGHTY REAR SENSOR HUB DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING. DEALER SAYS NEXT REPAIRS WILL BE ALMOST $500. ISSUES WITH WARNING LIGHTS HAPPENED DURING NORMAL WEATHER AND DRIVING CONDITIONS.
2015 SONATA SPORT 2.0T, 23800 ODOMETER. I NOTICED A SOUND THAT SOUNDED LIKE THE BLOWER FAN AT MAX. SPEED SETTING, WHEN I ACCELERATE. INVESTIGATED AND FOUND THE AIR HOSE ASSY. BETWEEN THE AIR FILTER BOX AND THE INLET OF THE TURBO WAS DISCONNECTED FROM THE TURBO INLET. UPON REMOVAL. THE HOSE WAS MELTED THRU. I PURCHASES A REPLACEMENT HOSE FROM ZIMBRICK HYUNDAI EAST IN MADISON WI AND FOUND OUT THAT THE REPLACEMENT WAS OF A DIFFERENT HEAT RESISTANT MATERIAL AND ASK THE SERVICE MANAGER IF THIS COST IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IT WAS NOT BECAUSE I WAS REPLACING IT MYSELF. I CALLED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THERE CONFIRMED THIS. WHY WON'T HYUNDAI WARRANT AN OEM PART THAT WAS CHANGED TO AN ALTERNATIVE MATERIAL, AFTER THE PRODUCT WAS RELEASED TO THE CONSUMER, REGARDLESS WHO INSTALLS THE PART ONTO THE CAR? THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, AND INSIDE A GARAGE DURING THE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE AIR HOSE ASSY.
WHILE DRIVING CAR ON HIGHWAY HEARD KNOCKING SOUND FROM ENGINE AREA. CAR LOST POWER AND THEN ENGINE STOPPED WORKING. SAFETY ISSUE SINCE CAR WILL NOT START AGAIN AND GOT STRANDED ON HIGHWAY AT ODD HRS.
PANORAMIC ROOF WIND DEFLECTOR TORE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DEBRIS SCATTERED ON HIGHWAY AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BEHIND OUR VEHICLE AS OTHERS ATTEMPTED TO AVOID IT. WE WERE ABLE TO CLOSE THE UNIT WHILE HOLDING ALL OF THE COMPONENTS DOWN IN THE TRACK/HOUSING. A HYUNDAI TECHNICIAN REPORTED THE ISSUE WAS A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM AND WE'D BE CHARGED $1200 TO REPAIR IT. I WENT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO ASK THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE AND BEFORE I COULD GET HALFWAY THROUGH EXPLAINING WHAT WAS GOING ON, THE SERVICE ADVISOR FINISHED MY THOUGHT AND SAID HE HAD HEARD OF THAT ISSUE BEFORE AND KNEW ABOUT IT....HE TOLD ME THAT IS WAS PROBABLY A BAD TRANSMISSION. IT SOUNDED LIKE THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE SINCE HE ALREADY KNEW HOW I WAS GOING TO FINISH THE PROBLEMS I'VE BEEN HAVING. AFTER SPEAKING TO OTHER 2015 SONATA OWNERS FROM THE SAME, THEY ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. HYUNDAI KNOWS THAT THESE ISSUES ARE GOING ON, THAT IS A FACT BASED ON THE INFORMATION I RECEIVED FROM THE SERVICE ADVISOR. COULD BE RELATED TO ISSUE WITH 2011-2014 SONATA ENGINE RECALL SINCE MY 2015 SONATA USES ALMOST SAME THETA-II ENGINE.
TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND MENTIONED WHEN MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR THE AIR BAG LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON WHILE SHE IS DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT WILL JUST COME ON, AND GO OFF. NO RHYME OR REASON TO IT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON IN THIS FASHION WHILE I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE. TECHNICIANS LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE AND CHECKED THE CLOCK-SPRING, AND THEN SAID AIR BAG ECM AND SENSOR (SRSCM) MODULES NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECT TO ANY JUMP STARTING, HAS THE ORIGINAL BATTERY, AND NOT INVOLVED IN ANY FRONTAL CRASHES. CAR HAS BEEN WELL-MAINTAINED. BELIEVE THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THESE PARTS.

SO THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS EVER HAPPEN, I RECENTLY GOT GAS TWO DAYS PRIOR TO ME FINDING OUT AT THE GAS STATION THAT MY GAS DOOR WON'T OPEN. I CURRENTLY HAVE UNDER A QUARTER TANK OF GAS AND HAVE TO PICK UP MY SON. MY GAS DOOR IS NOT OPENING, I'VE TRIED THE SWITCH IN THE INSIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND I ALSO TRIED THE MANUAL RELEASE. THE ONLY THING THAT HAPPENS WHEN I TRY EITHER METHODS, IS HEARING THE CLICK OF IT TRYING TO OPEN. I TOOK IT TO GOODYEAR THE TIRE PLACE TO GET SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT, BUT NO ONE COULD FIX THE ISSUE WITHOUT BREAKING INTO IT. THEN I TOOK A GAMBLE GOING TO PEPBOYS, THEY WAS HELPFUL BUT NOT SUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
MY ENGINE IS BURNING OIL. I HAD TO ADD 1.5 QUARTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES WITH ONLY 50,000 MILES ON THE MOTOR. THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP STATES NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY CAR. I FINALLY GOT TIRED OF THIS AT 130K MILES AND TOOK IT TO RELIABLE HYUNDAI IN SPRINGFIELD, MO. THIS DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN COMPLETELY USELESS IN OFFERING ANY HELP, ANSWERS, OR SOLUTIONS. THEY'VE ALREADY CHARGED ME $400 FOR A 'COMBUSTION CHAMBER CLEANING' - TOLD ME I WOULD BE REIMBURSED IF IT DIDN'T WORK, THEN WHEN IT WAS OBVIOUS IT DIDN'T WORK THEY DID NOT REFUND ME. THEY HAVE MADE ME JUMP THROUGH HOOPS IN HOPES I WILL EVENTUALLY GET A NEW ENGINE, BUT REPEATEDLY REMIND ME ULTIMATELY THAT MAY NOT HAPPEN. IN 2 MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO GO TO RELIABLE HYUNDAI, MISSING WORK, 11 TIMES FOR THEIR OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WHEN IT'S OBVIOUS NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE BECAUSE 'THAT'S HYUNDAI'S PROTOCOL. I AM GOING TO LOSE MY JOB FOR ATTENDANCE AND EVEN AFTER THAT, HYUNDAI STILL MIGHT NOT FIX THE ISSUE. HORRIBLE COMPANY, WITH HORRIBLE PRACTICES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. I PURCHASED A NEW HYUNDAI SONATA IN MARCH 2015. IN NOVEMBER 2018 THE ENGINE WAS MAKING SOUNDS WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING ON ROADWAYS DURING HIGHER AND LOWER SPEEDS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR 3.5 YEARS PRIOR. AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE HAD APPROXIMATELY 59K. DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE WAS BAD AND WAS PART OF A RECALL. THREE WEEKS LATER ( END OF NOVEMBER 2018, HYUNDAI / DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ENGINE. IN LATE MARCH 2019 I BEGAN TO HEAR THE SAME NOISES COMING FROM THE REPLACEMENT ENGINE WHICH I HEARD FROM THE ORIGINAL ENGINE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSTICS WERE REPEATED ON THE 2ND NEW ENGINE. HYUNDAI HAS AGREED TO REPLACE THIS ENGINE. THIS WILL BE THE THIRD ENGINE IN THE FOUR YEARS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. CONCERN: THE SECOND ENGINE WAS A REPEAT OF THE FIRST. MY CONCERN IS THAT A 4 YEAR OLD CAR HAS HAD 3 ENGINES. THE MALFUNCTION/ROOT CAUSE OF THE ENGINE POTENTIALLY CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN LOSE ALL POWER WHEN DRIVING. SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH DISASTROUS CONSEQUENCES WHEN DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATES NOT TO MENTION NEIGHBORHOOD ROADWAYS. GREAT POSSIBILITY THAT THE 3RD ENGINE MAY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS TO RESPOND TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WITH A TECHNICAL RESPONSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,500.
I BOUGHT MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA BRAND NEW. TODAY (MAR 22), I MADE A RIGHT TURN TO A RAMP INTO MY COMPANY SITE. SPEED WAS ABOUT 10 TO 15 MPH. ALL THE SUDDEN, I HEARD A LAUD ENGINE REVVING SOUND. I HAVE TO LET GO MY GAS PEDAL, WAITED COUPLE SECONDS AND THEN SLOWLY STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL TO MOVE THE CAR. IT ALMOST LIKE THE GEAR BOX WAS NOT ENGAGING ALL THE SUDDEN AND THE CAR SPEED STALLED. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE SIMILAR CASES AND MAKE THE MANUFACTURER FOR A REPAIR/RECALL.

THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS ELECTRICAL AND THAT IT WAS MY THROTTLE BODY. I PURCHASED THAT CAR NEW AND NOW IT HAS A LITTLE OVER 74,000 MILES ON IT.

I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, BUT THE GAS PADDLE WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THIS A MAJOR HAZARD AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICE IS AWARE (I CALLED AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT), AND IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. NHTSA NEED TO MAKE THE MANUFACTURER ACCOUNTABLE, BY REASON OF THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS CLOSE TO BEING REAR-ENDED, AND IF NOTHING IS RECTIFIED, IT WILL CAUSE AN OWNER TO BE SEVERELY INJURED.

THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT BASED ON THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS BY THE TWO DEALERS, WHICH YIELDED NOTHING, THEY COULD BE ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,917.

NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG OR HELP ME THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THAT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS OR THE COMPUTER READS SOMETHING THEY CAN'T HELP ME! I HAVE WITNESSES WHO HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED IT WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ASIDE FROM THE THREE TIMES I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT MYSELF.

FOR EACH TIME I WENT TO HYUNDAI DEALER SHOP TO FIX IT. BUT IT HAPPENS MORE THAN ONE OR TWICE OF THE YEAR. WHEN IT HAPPENS, IT IS REALLY DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD (CITY STREET).

TOOK VEHICLE FOR A SAFETY RECALL ON FEB 22, 2019. AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THE ENGINE STALLED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. NARROWLY ESCAPED GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT/ CRASH. VEHICLE IS BACK AT DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. I BROWSED THE INTERNET AND SAW THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS OF THE ENGINE STALLING. THE MAIN ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME OF THIS PROBLEM. WILL IT TAKE CRASHES AND PEOPLE DYING BEFORE A RECALL IS ORDERD ON THIS KNOWN PROBLEM.

ENGINE HAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES AND BURNS BETWEEN HALF TO ONE QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES. HYUNDAI DEALER PERFORMED AN "OIL CONSUMPTION TEST" WHERE THEY RECORDED OIL LEVEL AFTER 1,000 MILES THREE TIMES. AFTER THE FIRST 1K MILES IT WAS DOWN ABOUT HALF A QUART OF OIL, SAME ON SECOND 1K MILES, AND ABOUT 1 QUART ON THIRD 1K MILES. HYUNDAI ADVISED THIS IS NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION AND WOULD NOT INVESTIGATE FURTHER UNLESS AVERAGE USE WAS MORE THAN 1 QUART AFTER 1K MILES.
