ON SATURDAY 11/7/15 I HAD TO CALL AAA TO TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE FOOT BREAK GOT LOCKED , THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.BRAND NEW CAR , 2015 SONATA , 2 MONTHS LEASE WITH ME.
THE CAR HAS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ERRATICALLY. THERE IS A VERY LOUD CHATTERING COMING FROM THE ENGINE. IT IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF IS CONSTANTLY CREAKING WHENEVER DRIVING ON UNEVEN PAVEMENT. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR CHECK ENGINE ISSUES SINCE IT WAS THREE MONTHS OLD ALL RELATED TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND VCM. AND THE VEHICLE STALLS RANDOMLY AND DOES NOT SET OFF AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. DEALERSHIPS KEEP SAYING NO ISSUE FOUND. ROTORS HAVE WARPED.
ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASSONS THE VEHICLE WAS ON A MAJOR STREET WHEN IT JUST DIED.THE FIRST TIME WAS COMNG OUT OF A STOP AT A RED LIGHT, THE SECOND JUST WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND THE THIRD TIME WHLE I WAS DEACCELARATING. MIRACULALOUSLY I WAS ABLE TO USE THE LAST BIT OF MOMENTUM AND PULL OVER. THE CAR STARTED UP AGAIN EACH TME. THE DEALER HAD NO SUGGESTIONS THE FIRST 2 TIMES EXCEPT FOR POSSBLE COMPUTER MISFIRE.THEY RELEASED THE CAR STAITNG IT SHOULD BE FINE AND THEY COULD NOT REPLCATE THE EVENT.AFTER STARTING A CASE WITH HYUNDAI THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE IGNITION COILS AND THEN THE FUEL PUMP. AFTER MUCH QUESTIONINGAND LITTLE COOPERAION FROM HYUNDAI OR THE DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT 1500 PEOPLE REPRTED THE SAME LIFE THREATENENING EVENT ONN THIER CAR. NOT ENOUGH FOR A RECALL!!!SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED. NEITHER THE DEALER OR HYUNDAI THINKS THIS IS AN ISSUE.CASE NUMBER 8479377.I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE CASE ENGINEER FROM HYUNDAI EXPLAINING ANY REPAIRS AS PROMISED. HYUNDAI IS UNRESPONSIVE. 1. THE OVERHEAD LIGHTING WILL NOT TURN OFF. THIS CAUSES SIGNIFICANT AND DETRIMENTAL DRIVING CONDITIONS AS IT IMPAIRS DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS IS JUST LIKE A PASSENGER HOLDING A FLASHLIGHT AT THE DRIVERS EYE AT NIGHT. THIS IS CLEARLY UNSAFE AND AFFECTS PERIPHERAL VISION. 2. THE WIPERS DO NOT OSCILLATE FAST ENOUGH. I AM NOT REFERRING TO THE QUALITY OF THE WIPERS BUT THE SPEED AT WHICH THEY MOVE. I HAVE HAD MANY VEHICLES AND THIS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WHEN OUR NORMAL RAINS IN GEORGIA OCCUR THE SPEED OF THE WIPER OSCILLATION IS NOT ABLE TO OVERCOME THE TYPICAL RAINFALL.
I WISH TO CALL ATTENTION TO A TERRIBLY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT SEEMS TO BE INHERENT ON AUTOS EQUIPPED WITH PROJECTOR TYPE HEADLIGHTS. AN OVERLY TECHNICAL EXPLANATION OF THE PHENOMENA IS: 'WHILE GOING DOWN A SLOPE THE PROJECTOR'S CUT-OFF OF LIGHT SHIFTS DOWNWARD AND THE HEADLIGHT'S BEAM DISTANCE IS SIGNIFICANTLY DIMINISHED OUT IN FRONT OF THE CAR (HEADLIGHTS APPEAR TO BE DRIVEN DOWN INTO THE ROAD SURFACE). OBVIOUSLY, THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE DRIVER CANNOT SEE PEDESTRIANS AND ANIMALS OUT IN FRONT OF THE CAR TO ALLOW ADEQUATE AND SAFE STOPPING DISTANCES. ADDITIONALLY, ROAD SAFETY SIGNS CANNOT BE READ ON UNDULATING ROADS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ILLUMINATED ON THE DOWN-SLOPES.' IN MUCH SIMPLER LANGUAGE, IF YOU ARE DRIVING ON A VERY DARK AND HILLY ROAD AND GO DOWN A HILL, YOU WILL SWEAR THAT SOMEONE HAS SUDDENLY PUT A BLACK SHEET OVER THE UPPER PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD; THE ENTIRE UPPER PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD APPEARS TO HAVE INSTANTLY TAKEN ON A VERY DARK TINT AND THE FIELD OF VISION HAS DIMINISHED TO JUST A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF THE AUTO. IT IS A TERRIFYING, VERY CONFUSING AND DANGEROUS CONDITION THE FIRST TIME YOU EXPERIENCE IT; UNDERSTANDING THE MECHANICS OF THE PROBLEM AND KNOWING THAT IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN EVERY TIME YOU EXPERIENCE SIMILAR CONDITIONS DOES LITTLE BEYOND MAKING YOU DREAD HAVING IT HAPPEN AGAIN. ANOTHER DISTURBING CONDITION THAT IS ALSO VERY DANGEROUS THAT IS CAUSED BY THE HIGHLY FOCUSED BEAM OF THE PROJECTOR TYPE LIGHT AT VERY DARK INTERSECTIONS IS THAT THE VISIBILITY AROUND CORNERS IS VERY POOR AND ONLY EXTREME CAUTION BY DRIVERS OF CARS EQUIPPED WITH PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS WILL PREVENT PEDESTRIANS FROM FALLING VICTIM TO THIS HAZARD. OBVIOUSLY, ACCIDENTS AND DEATH WITH BE CAUSED BY THE ISSUES I'VE DESCRIBED AND AN IMPROVEMENT IN DESIGN AND REPLACEMENT OF THIS INHERENTLY DANGEROUS COMPONENT IS NEEDED AT ONCE.
WE HAD A LIFE-THREATENING INCIDENT WHEN THE ENGINE REMAINED RUNNING IN OUR ATTACHED GARAGE WHEN THE DRIVER FORGOT TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND WENT IN THE HOUSE WITH THE KEY FOB IN HIS POCKET. EVENTUALLY WE SMELLED FUMES AND RESOLVED THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND DID NOT ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JIM CLICK AUTOMOTIVE IN TUCSON AZ, 85710), BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT A KNOWN ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,012. ...UPDATED 07/20/17 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. USUALLY WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRUNK LID OPENED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THERE WAS AN ENGINE MISFIRE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TURBO CHARGER, INTAKE AND GASKET WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAN TAN HYUNDAI (3252 S AUTO WAY, GILBERT, AZ 85297) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED THAT CYLINDER NUMBER FOUR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC WASTEGATE ACTUATOR WAS ALSO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
I WAS ADMITTED INTO THE HOSPITAL, WHERE I HAD SURGERY AND WAS TOLD I HAD A HEMORRHAGIC STROKE. OCTOBER 2015, I HAD 2 MORE STROKES AND SURGERIES. I NEVER HAD A HISTORY OF STROKES, AND WAS WONDERING COULD THIS BE A PART OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE WITH THE CHEMICAL EXPOSURE FROM THE NEW VEHICLE? ANY USEFUL INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATE.
THIS HYUNDAI SONATA CAME EQUIPPED WITH THE HYUNDAI PANORAMIC SUNROOF. THIS SUNROOF WHEN YOU LOOK AT YOU CAN SEE IS MISALIGNED. WHEN THE SUNROOF IS IN THE OPEN POSITION THE RUBBER MOLDING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FAILS TO STAY ATTACHED AND WHEN THE SUNROOF S CLOSED THAT RUBBER MOLDING IS SUCKED INTO THE CAR LEAVING A GAP BETWEEN THE ALIGNING PARTS. I 'V HAD THIS PROBLEM ADDRESSED BY HYUNDAI AND LOCAL AUTO GLASS COMPANIES WITH NO POSSIBLE EXPLANATION. WHEN THE SUNROOF IS CLOSE A RATTLING NOISE IS EMANATING FROM THE SUNROOF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE NOISE IS DISCONCERTING AND HAS CREATED A SAFETY ISSUE AND I KEEP THE SUNROOF AND ROOF COVER CLOSED AT ALL TIMES. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT NOT ONLY THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED BY ME S AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH OTHER HYUNDAI OWNERS. BUT THAT PROBLEM IS SUSPECTED AND ALLEGES THAT THESE PARTICULAR PANORAMIC SUNROOFS SHATTER WITHOUT WARNING. SO MY SAFETY CONCERNS ARE NOW JUSTIFIED. A LAWSUIT HAS BEEN FILED. THE HYUNDAI PANORAMIC SUNROOF LAWSUIT WAS FILED IN THE U.S. DISTRICT COURT FOR THE CENTRAL DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA - BILLY GLENN V. HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA ET AL. I AM STILL TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH THE LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERS. (I HAVE BEEN TO TWO HYUNDAI SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AND BOTH DEPARTMENTS HAVE NO IDEA AS TO HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. AND WHEN ASKED IF THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PANORAMIC COMPLAINTS HAVE HAD NO RESOLVING ANSWER.) ANYWAY I AM REACHING A POINT WHERE POSSIBLE LEGAL ACTION WOULD BE THE STEP TOWARD A REMEDY.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AS THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. CAM POSITIONING SENSOR INTAKE/ EXHAUST FAULTY INNER SEAL. OR FAULTY VVTS FAULTY BEFORE FIRST OIL CHANGE. NEED ADDRESSED.
DURING LABOR DAY WEEKEND, I WAS ALERTED ON DISPLAY THAT THE "TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE IS HIGH". I STOPPED FOR 40 MINUTES IN A TURNOUT AREA (THE MANUAL STATES THAT YOU NEED TO WAIT 20 MINUTES IN THIS CASE). I CONTINUED THE TRIP, BUT THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT SHIFTING GEAR. I PUSHED THE ACCELEROMETER AND RPMS WERE AT 5000 AND GEAR WAS NOT SHIFTED (THE SPEED WAS AROUND 10-20 M/H). AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS TO INCREASE RPMS THE GEAR SHIFTED. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. I PARKED THE CAR FOR 5-6 HOURS. ON MY WAY BACK THE ISSUE APPEARED AFTER 20-30 MINUTES OF DRIVING. IN MY GARAGE, I NOTICED THAT I'M NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IN THE REVERSE DIRECTION. THE REVERSE GEAR WAS NOT SHIFTING. I FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL POSITION. I WAS NOT ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO PUSH THE CAR INTO THE PARKING SPOT. THE NEXT DAY THE LIGHT "CHECK ENGINE" TURNED OFF AND THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTING OK. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A HYUNDAI DEALER. THE SERVICE MAN WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE WAS P191464. THE SERVICE MAN CONTACTED HYUNDAI FSE. FSE ADVISED REPLACING THE SHIFT MOTOR ACTUATOR. THE SHIFT MOTOR ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED. I PICKED THE CAR UP FROM THE SERVICE TODAY ON SEPTEMBER 25TH. I DROVE FROM SERVICE TO HOME WITHOUT ANY ISSUE ( APPROXIMATELY 6 MILES).
ME AND MY WIFE WERE OUT DRIVING IN TRAFFIC WHEN I HAD TO STOP ABRUPTLY. HER SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK IN PLACE AND SHE INJURED HER NECK. WE DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION, DUE TO HER NOT WANTING TO. THIS POSES A SERIOUS HEALTH AND SAFETY RISK FOR ANYONE IN MY PASSENGER SEAT. AFTER THIS EVENT, WE DROVE TO AN ISOLATED AREA TO TEST IF THE SEATBELT WOULD LOCK AT SPEEDS OF 30, 25, 15, AND 10. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK INTO PLACE CAUSING MY WIFE BODY TO MOVE FORWARD.
THIS HYUNDAI SONOTA HAS A PUSH BUTTON IGNITION. ONCE THE ENGINE IS STARTED, A PERSON CAN LEAVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB IN THEIR POCKET AND THE ENGINE STAYS RUNNING AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF. THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD 114. ONCE THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE SHOULD SHUT OFF. THIS ENGINE IS SO QUIET YOU CANNOT EVEN HEAR IT RUNNING WHILE IN THE VEHICLE AND IF SOMEONE IS PARTIALLY COLOR BLIND YOU CAN BARELY SEE THE RED AND GREEN INDICATOR. THIS ENGINE WILL RUN IN AN IDLE STATE NO MATTER WHERE THE KEY CAUSING RISK OF FIRE, CARBON MONOXIDE POISINING AND DEATH AND INJURY TO ANYONE NEAR THIS VEHICLE IF LEFT RUNNING AND SINCE THE CAR STAYS RUNNING ONCE IT IS STARTED ANYONE CAN WALK AWAY WITH THE KEY FOB IN THEIR POCKET AND THE CAR STAYS RUNNING NO MATTER WHAT. THERE ARE NO REMINDERS WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE THAT THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF IN THE VEHICLE, THERE ARE NO REMINDERS IN THE VEHICLE THAT THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THE PUSH BUTTON STARTS ARE NOT ONLY A SAFETY THREAT BUT ALSO CAN BE HAZARD IN A PARKING GARAGE IF THE ENGINE CATCHES FIRE DUE TO OVER HEATING IT CAN AFFECT ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES IN A PARKING GARAGE AND CAUSE EVEN WORSE DAMAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
I PURCHASED A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED W/ TECH PKG. I HAVE THE CAR WITH ME IN QUEBEC CANADA FOR A JOB. TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN CANADA, IT MUST UNDERGO AN INSPECTION ACCORDING TO CANADIAN STANDARDS.DURING VEHICLE STARTUP, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH MUST ILLUMINATE FOR 3 SECONDS AND THEN GO OUT TO SIGNIFY NORMAL OPERATION OF THE ABS. MY ABS LIGHT DID NOT DO THIS, SO IT FAILED. A DIAGNOSTIC AT A CANADIAN HYUNDAI DEALER CAME BACK WITH NO ERROR CODES, THE ABS MODULE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY, AND AN EMERGENCY STOP ROAD TEST ACTIVATED THE ABS SYSTEM. I'D LIKE TO SAY I WAS ABLE TO CONVINCE THEM BY OPENING MY OWNER'S MANUAL, BUT TO MY SURPRISE THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES THAT THE ABS LIGHT SHOULD ILLUMINATE FOR 3 SECONDS AND THEN EXTINGUISH. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE CAR AND THEY WERE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE SAME CONDITION (NO ABS LIGHT AT START UP) ON AN IDENTICAL 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED VEHICLE AND STATED THERE WERE NO PENDING RECALLS. THUS, I DO NOT THINK THIS IS NOT A MANUFACTURER DEFECT (ABLE TO REPLICATE ON IDENTICAL VEHICLE AND HAVE SEEN SEVERAL ONLINE VIDEOS TO SUPPORT NO ABS LIGHT ON START UP IN LIMITED EDITION SONATA), THERE IS NO MALFUNCTION IN THE ABS SYSTEM (CANADA DIAGNOSTIC), AND THERE IS A DISCREPANCY IN THE OWNERS MANUAL THAT IS MODEL-SPECIFIC. I AM UNABLE TO REFERENCE ABS LIGHTING CONDITIONS SPECIFIC TO THE LIMITED EDITION DURING THE INSPECTION PROCESS. HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA, WHO HAD NO OTHER REFERENCE THAN THE MANUAL, SUGGESTED ANOTHER INSPECTION. IM AM REACHING OUT TO YOU IN DESPERATION TO ASSIST WITH INFORMATION ON THIS ISSUE SO I CAN SATISFY MY CANADIAN INSPECTORS AND THE CAR CAN STAY IN CANADA! PLEASE HELP!!
MY CONCERN IS WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED MANUFACTURED IN THE UNITED STATES (AND POTENTIALLY OTHER MODELS AS WELL). MY OWNER'S MANUAL CLEARLY STATES (PAGE 5-41) THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH SHOULD ILLUMINATE FOR 3 SECONDS DURING START UP AS THE ABS SYSTEM RUN A SELF-TEST, THEN EXTINGUISH. THE ABS LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD DOES NOT ILLUMINATE DURING STARTUP AS DESCRIBED IN MY OWNER'S MANUAL. DESPITE NUMEROUS DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AT CERTIFIED HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS, THE ABS SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY ELECTRICALLY AND MECHANICALLY. I AM MAKING THE FOLLOWING INQUIRIES: 1. IS THE 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED DESIGNED TO HAVE THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATE DURING STARTUP (TO CONFIRM OR DENY WHAT IS PUBLISHED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL)? 2. IS THIS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT REQUIRES A RECALL/REPLACEMENT? 3. IF THIS IS NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, CAN HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA PROVIDE EVIDENCE (E.G., LETTER, UPDATED MANUAL PUBLICATION OF LIMITED MODES) THAT THIS IS, IN FACT, NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. 4. I AM WRITING IN REGARDS TO MY NEW 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA ECO THAT I PURCHASED IN MAY 2015 FROM MCCARTHY HYUNDAI AUTOMOTIVE IN OLATHE, KANSAS. SHORTLY AFTER BRINGING IT HOME, I NOTICED THAT EACH TIME THE CAR WAS STARTED ON A COLD START, IT WOULD HESITATE AND PAUSE UPON ACCELERATION WHEN I WOULD TAKE OFF. AFTER THE CAR WARMED UP, IT WAS MUCH BETTER BUT STILL WOULD PAUSE AND HESITATE SOMETIMES WHEN I WAS NEEDING TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY. I TOOK THE CAR 4 SEPARATE TIMES TO MCCARTHY HYUNDAI SERVICE DEPT. IN OLATHE. EACH TIME, THEY WOULD ONLY SAY THAT THE CAR IS 'OPERATING AS DESIGNED' AND THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NEW ECO'S SINCE THEY HAVE THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. WE DROVE 4 OTHER ECO'S AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THEY DID ADMIT THAT IT SEEMED ABNORMAL AND POSSIBLY A PATCH/UPDATE WILL COME OUT IN THE FUTURE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS COULD TAKE MANY YEARS OR NOT AT ALL. THERE IS NO WAY OF KNOWING. ONE OF THE TIMES THAT THE CAR WAS AT THEIR SERVICE CENTER, THEY DID FIND A FAULTY FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED IT. THIS ALONE DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE THAT I AM EXPERIENCING WITH THE CAR. MY MAIN CONCERN AT THIS POINT IS THE SAFETY ISSUE. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE CAR WILL OR WON'T HESITATE AND PAUSE UPON ACCELERATION. I LIVE IN A METROPOLITAN AREA AND DRIVE IN A LOT OF TRAFFIC. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICES MY VEHICLE EVERY 3 TO 5 THOUSAND MILES. THEY ALWAYS INFLATED THE TIRES TO 32 PSI. VEHICLE PLACARD RECOMMENDS 34 PSI. THE TIRE ITSELF READS 51 PSI MAX. AFTER THE SECOND 'BLISTER' INCIDENT, I INCREASED THE TIRE PRESSURE TO 40 PSI. NO ISSUES WITH TIRES SINCE.

THE TURBO IS DESIGNED BY MITSUBISHI AND I KNEW SOMEONE WHO WORKS THERE. AFTER LISTENING THE SOUND, HE INDICATED IT IS A CASE OF TURBOCHARGER IMBALANCE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL AND REQUIRED THE GAS PEDAL TO BE PRESSED DUE TO LOW RPMS AT IDLE. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, WITH NO WARNING TO THE OPERATOR, AND POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK ON ROADWAYS WITH SPEED LIMITS ABOVE 40 MPH. NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON TO WARN THE OPERATOR. AFTER THREE OCCURRENCES OF THIS PROBLEM, IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS, THE VEHICLE, WITH ONLY 1,351 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ON 4/7/2015. AFTER REPLACING, THE FUEL PUMP, THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE OWNER ON 04/10/2015. LESS THAN 2 MILES AFTER PICKING THE VEHICLE UP FROM SERVICE, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN, ON A 50 MPH ROADWAY. THE OPERATOR WAS VERY CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY AS OTHER MOTORISTS WERE SWERVING AROUND THE VEHICLE AND HONKING THEIR HORNS. AGAIN, NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON TO WARN THE OPERATOR. ONCE AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITHIN 20 MINUTES OF INITIAL PICK-UP, FOR FURTHER REPAIRS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE EVER SINCE, CHANGING MULTIPLE PARTS DEALING WIT THE FUEL SYSTEMS, AND HAS YET TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM TO DATE (04/16/2015). *TR
SONATA COMES WITH A 18.5 GAL GAS TANK. UPON FILL UP CAR WILL ONLY TAKE A MAXIMUM OF 12 GALLONS. THE SUPPOSED "RANGE" OF THE CARS COMPUTER SHOW MAYBE 50 MILES WHEN REGISTERING NEAR EMPTY. EVEN SO, ONLY 12 GALLONS CAN BE PUT INTO TANK. WITH APPROXIMATELY 6 GALLONS THAT HAVE TO BE STILL IN TANK, I SHOULD HAVE A RANGE OF 180 MILES AT 30 MILES PER GALLON. GAUGE IS IN NEED OF CALIBRATION APPARENTLY. DEALER CLAIMS TO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT HAPPENS UPON EVERY FILL UP. *TR

THE RED PARKING BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH DOES NOT ALWAYS COME ON WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE IS ENGAGED. AT THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT ( SEPT. 2016) IT CAME ON 3 OUT OF 9 TRIES WHEN THEY CHECKED IT. CURRENTLY IT IS NOT WORKING. IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE CAR WAS NEW, BUT EACH TIME I BROUGHT IT IN, IT WOULD WORK.
I BOUGHT THIS NEW CAR A FEW MONTHS AGO. AT 1089 MILES ENGINE OVERHEATED WHILE IN TRAFFIC. I MANAGE TO STOP SAFELY AND I CALLED ROADSIDE TO TOW THE CAR TO SERVICE. SECOND DAY THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE ACCORDING TO HYUNDAI TECH LINE. THIS FOR ME WAS A RED FLAG THAT SOMETHING IS REALLY WRONG WITH THAT CAR. THEY FOUND COOLANT INSIDE THE ENGINE AND THIS WAS THEIR DIAGNOSIS, JSUT LIKE THIS. THE REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A REMANUFACTURED ONE AND FEW WEEKS LATER I ENDED UP IN SERVICE AGAIN FOR COOLANT LEAKS. THEY REPLACED 2 BIG HOUSES. NOT LONG AFTER THIS I ENDED UP AGAIN IN SERVICE CAUSE COOLANT LEVEL IS LOW ON THE OVERFILL COMPARTMENT. THEY SAID IS NOTHING WRONG AND ALL THE TESTS ARE GOOD. SO I TOOK THE CAR AND A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER THE SAME. THEY TOLD ME THE SAME STORY. WELL THE CAR OVERHEATED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN TILL EVERYTHING STARTED TO SMELL LIKE SOMETHING MELTED AND SOME KIND OF SMOKE CAME OUT FROM INSIDE THE ENGINE WHEN YOU OPEN THE OIL CAP. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR MORE THAN 3 WEEKS WITH NO RESOLUTION SO FAR. I REPORTED COOLANT ISSUES FROM THE BEGINNING BUT HYUNDAI REFUSE TO LISTED AND KEPT SAYING IS NOTHING WRONG. I CONSIDER THIS S HUGE ISSUES AND CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO GET ON FIRE OR ENGINE TO EXPLODE. I HOPE TO GET THIS DONE UNDER LEMON LAW BUT HYUNDAI IS STUBBORN AND WE MIGHT END UP IN COURT. THIS DEALERSHIP DID ALL MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS & HAD CAR A TOTAL OF 7 TIMES FOR THE SAME COMPLAINT OF THE CAR 'BUCKING,' LIKE IT IS HARD TO SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR.I WAS TOLD IT WAS A COMPUTER PART & IT HAD BEEN REPLACED, YET THE PROBLEM CONTINUED, OTHER TIMES I WAS TOLD THERE NOTHING COULD BE DETECTED AS WRONG. MY 7TH TRIP, THE DEALERSHIP KEPT IT FOR 6-7 WEEKS WHEN THEY DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAS DEFECTIVE, THEN THEY 'LOST' THE NEW TRANSMISSION, BEFORE FINALLY FIXED IT. I DRIVE 100 MILES DAILY TO & FROM WORK AM FEARFUL THAT SOMETHING WOULD BE WRONG. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A FAR AWAY 18 WHEELER WHEN THE CAR WOULD NOT FORWARD. I REPORTED ALL OF THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP. I REQUESTED TO SPEAK WITH GENERAL MANAGER AT LEAST 3 TIMES & WAS ALWAYS TOLD HE WAS OUT, THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM LEAVE AFTER SAYING HE WAS NOT THERE. SO, AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS 'FIXED' IN FEBRUARY. I CALLED CORPORATE & WAS TOLD THIS IS THE WAY THIS VEHICLE DRIVES AS IT HAS A SEMI-AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I AM DRIVING A RENTAL WITH SAME ENGINE & DOES NOT BEHAVE LIKE MY MINE. WITHIN A FEW DAYS, THE CAR BEGAN STALLING WHEN TRYING TO EXCEL AND THE 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' CAME ON. THE SECOND PICKED UP IN DEC 2014 CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 2900MILES WITH THE SAME BASIC COMPUTER ISSUES. BOTH VEHICLES WHEN TRAVELING FROM ABOUT 40 TO 65MPH THE ENGINE'S COMPUTER SYSTEM WOULD CUT THE SPEED DOWN AND LOSE COMPRESSION TO APPROXIMATELY 20MPH TO PROTECT THE VEHICLE FROM SOME KIND OF ENGINE DAMAGE. YOU WOULD BE FORCED TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. ONCE THE ENGINE WAS OFF 5 MINUTES THE ENGINE WOULD START UP, THE CHECK ENGINE/ANTI SKID LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON SO THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD SEE WHAT CODES WERE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THE FIRST VEHICLE WAS ASSIGNED A CASE# BY HYUNDAI -CASE# 6788232 AND WAS FINALLY TAKEN BACK BY HYUNDAI IN DEC 2014 AFTER BEING OUT OF SERVICE FOR WELL OVER 35 DAYS DUE TO THE CONTINUED COMPUTER PROBLEMS. THE REPLACEMENT VEHICLE RECENTLY HAD 3 INCIDENTS WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROX. 65MPH THE ENGINE WOULD GO TO 20MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE ONLY EXCEPTION WAS THAT WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ON UNTIL I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF LEAVING ME IN A DIFFICULT POSITION WHEN BRINGING THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, THE COMPUTER DIDN'T STORE THE EVENT TO VERIFY THE PROBLEM. ENGINE MONITOR WARNED OF PROBLEM AND RECOMMENDED FULL SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC WHICH POINTED TO CAM SENSOR ISSUE. SUPPLY OF SENSORS WAS BACKLOGGED DUE TO MULTIPLE FAILURES NATIONALLY. THIS IS ALSO EVIDENCED BY THE NUMBER OF ONLINE OWNER COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE MANY STATING LONG DELAYS IN OBTAINING THE PART AND MULTIPLE PART FAILURES. IN MY CASE, AFTER 200 MILES WITH THE NEW SENSOR IF FAILED A SECOND TIME AND I AM AGAIN WAITING FOR PARTS. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 1700 MILES ON IT SINCE NEW. FOR A NEW VEHICLE THIS IS A TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF QUALITY. WHILE I WAS TOLD THE O-RING SEAL FAILS CAUSING OIL TO SATURATE THE SENSOR I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE FULL REASON FOR THE FAILURES, I.E. POOR SENSOR MANUFACTURING, MATERIALS ISSUE, O-RING ISSUE ETC. IN SPEAKING WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE PERSONNEL IT BECAME OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO AVOID A NATIONAL RECALL BY UNDERSTATING THE SCOPE OF THIS PROBLEM NATIONALLY AND TRYING TO MINIMALIZE THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM IN OUR CONVERSATIONS. I SUGGEST AN INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF THE ISSUE AND SEE IF IT WARRANTS A RECALL. FOR OTHER OWNERS OR POTENTIAL BUYERS, WHILE THIS FAILURE HAS BEEN MY PRIMARY COMPLAINT I HAVE NOTED OTHER ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRONIC WARNING SENSOR INCONSISTENCY AND CABIN ELECTRONICS SYSTEMS WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED. CAR WOULD GO FORWARD AT IDLE SPEED ONLY. RECEIVED A MESSAGE ON NAVIGATION SCREEN AND AN EMAIL SAYING ?A POSSIBLE CONDITION WITH YOUR ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM HAS BEEN DETECTED. HYUNDAI RECOMMENDS A FULL SYSTEM CHECK SOON. TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A HYUNDAI DEALER, SAY SERVICE LINK WHEN ASKED TO SAY THE NAME OF A SERVICE. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD, TURNED OFF ENGINE. RESTARTED ENGINE, ONLY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON, BUT ACCELERATION STILL ROUGH.

2015 HYUNDAI SONATA 2T - SLOW ACCELERATION; CAR WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE WHEN FOOT ON BREAK; LOUD ENGINE NOISE; ENGINE LIGHT ALWAYS ON. TOOK CAR TO DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS A RECALL ISSUE THAT THEY REPAIRED. DROVE CAR TWO DAYS ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. NOW DEALER STATES THEY ARE WAITING FOR PARTS TO COME IN TO FIX.
SINCE LEASING THE VEHICLE ON AUGUST 1 I CONSTANTLY COMPLAINED ABOUT THE GAS MILEAGE WHICH HYUNDAI INDICATED WOULD BE RESOLVED ON THE FOLLOWING OIL CHANGE. THE OIL CHANGE BARELY EFFECTED THE MILEAGE EFFICIENCY WHICH LEADS TO THE SECOND ISSUE WHEN THE GAS GAUGE SHOWS BELOW A QUARTER ON THE TANK THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK AND IS ALSO AFFECTED IN HIGH MOUNTAIN AREAS. WHEN I EXPLAINED THESE ISSUES TO HYUNDAI THEY SAID THEY NEVER HEARD OF IT AND WOULD SENT TO THE COMPANY FOR FURTHER REVIEW IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE A CAR WITH THE GAS GAUGE THAT DOES NOT SHOW EXACT AMOUNTS FROM FILL UP TO EMPTY MAKES THIS CAR A SAFETY RISK THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE NOT TO MENTION THE CAR IS RUNNING HORRIBLE WHICH SUGGEST OTHER SAFETY FEATURES ARE NOT WORKING ACCURATELY. THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF FILING THIS REPORT IS TO PREVENT A CHILD FROM DYING IN A LOCKED TRUNK. AS I PACKED MY RENTAL CAR FOR A TRIP I STUPIDLY LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR. AN UNLOCKING SERVICE CAME AND POPPED MY DOOR LOCK BUT BECAUSE THE ALARM SYSTEM WAS ON THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO ACCESS TO THE TRUCK AT ALL. THIS MODEL HAS DROP DOWN SEATS BUT ARE LOCKED FROM IN THE TRUNK. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO CORRECTLY TELL ME TO OPEN THE TRUNK I HAD TO VISIT A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR A KEY....NO OTHER WAY TO ENTER THE TRUNK. I OFTEN DRIVE ACROSS THE DESERT...NO DEALERSHIP AND NO UNLOCKING SERVICES. IF MY GRANDSON HAD PLAYED IN THE TRUNK AND LOCKED HIMSELF IN HE WOULD HAVE DIED OF HEAT EXPOSURE BEFORE IT COULD HAVE BEEN UNLOCKED. THIS IS UNNECESSARY. THERE ARE RELEASE LEVERS IN THE TRUNK BUT A YOUNG CHILD WOULD BE UNABLE TO PULL THEM. THIS IS A TRAGEDY WAITING TO HAPPEN. I WAS SAVED ONLY BY THE FACT I WAS IN A VERY LARGE CITY. *TR
I WENT TO ACCELERATE, BY DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, AND THE ENGINE REVVED HIGH, BUT, THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE AND THERE DIDN'T APPEAR TO BE POWER AT THE WHEELS. IT ACTED AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. I LET OFF OF THE PEDAL AND IT DOWNSHIFTED AND POWER TO THE WHEELS WAS RESTORED. I REPEATED THIS PROCESS 3 TIMES AFTER AND I COULD REPLICATE IT EVERY TIME. DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT IT FOR SERVICE. THEY DROVE IT THE NEXT DAY AND COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE SINCE THAT DAY EITHER. *TR
I PURCHASED MY HYUNDAI SONATA ON 1/05/2015 WITH ONLY 6 MILES FROM SHEEHY HYUNDAI OF WALDOR IN MARYLAND AFTER 11 DAYS OF PURCHASE ON JANUARY 16 2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:45 PM (RUSH HOUR IN THE DC METRO AREA) MY SONATA CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNS ON THE HIGHWAY IN MIDDLE LANE WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS AND VERY SCARY AND PUT ME IN A VERY VULNERABLE POSITION. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, I WAS UNABLE TO STEER OUT THE WAY OF TRAFFIC AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND I WAS UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I WAS A SITTING DUCK WAITING TO GET SMASHED BY A PICKUP TRUCK DIRECTLY IN THE BACK OF ME.THANK MY GOD NOTHING HAPPENED. I WAS UNABLE TO USE THE SOS AND BLUELINK EMERGENCY FEATURES THAT IS EQUIPPED CAME WITH 3 MONTHS FREE ACTIVATION IN THIS VEHICLE. I HAD TO PERSONALLY CALL VIA MY CELL PHONE AND AWAIT POLICE ASSISTANCE WHICH WAS 10 MINUTES STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND AFTER THE ASSISTANCE OF THE POLICE WE WERE ONLY THEN ABLE TO PUSH THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. THE BLUELINK CUSTOMER SERVICE DID VERY POORLY IN RESPONDING AFTER ALL THIS EMERGENCY SITUATION AND TO MAKE IT WORSE THEY DID NOT PROVIDE A TOW UNTIL 1.45 MINUTES AFTER, THEN COMMENCE TO JUSTIFY THIS LONG PERIOD BY STATING ITS "FRIDAY AND THE NORMAL TIME IS 2 HOURS OR MORE". THEREFORE, I AM PLEADING TO SHEEHY DEALERSHIP AND HYUNDAI CORPORATION ALONG WITH ANYONE ELSE THAT CAN ASSIST ME TO ENSURE THAT I HAVE A NEW REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. I AM GETTING NOWHERE WITH SHEEHY DEALERSHIP IN REFERENCE TO A NEW REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT SHEEHY SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY ARE STILL NOT ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. POWER STEERING MOTOR FAILED. LUCKILY, IT FAILED SOMETIME BETWEEN WHEN I LAST DROVE IT AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT THE NEXT DAY. THE STEERING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANAGE, DUE TO THE FAILED MOTOR. *TR
THERE ARE MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR, STEERING IS #1 AT LOW SPEED IS MAKES A POPPING NOISE, AT SPEED IS HAS DEAD SPOTS, ENTIRE STEERING ASSEMBLY COULD BE MOVED. THE TRANSMISSION IS ROUGH AND FEELS LIKE IT IS HUNTING AND STUMBLING BETWEEN 1/2,2/3 SHIFTS, DOWNSHIFTS 1 OR 2 RANGES AT THE SLIGHTEST HILL. BACK UP CAMERA COMES ON AND THEN GOES BLACK IN THE MIDDLE OF BACKING UP. BRAKES FEEL LIKE THEY ARE SLIPPING IF YOU ARE BRAKING AT LOW SPEED ON A HILL, AS IN PARKING. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER 3 OR 4 TIMES, THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS, THOUGH THEY DID MANAGE TO FIX THE MOVING STEERING ASSEMBLY THE 2ND VISIT WILE DENYING THEY DID ANY WORK. WE PURCHASED A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA SPORT/L1 ON 26 DEC 2014. MY WIFE REQUIRES AN EXTRA CUSHION TO SIT ON DUE LOWER BACK PROBLEMS. OUR PREVIOUS CAR (2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA) HAS SENSORS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT THAT CONTROL THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. WITH MY WIFE SITTING ON THE EXTRA CUSHION, THE SENSORS CORRECTLY DETERMINED SHE WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND SET THE AIRBAG TO OPERATE IF WE WERE TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. NOT REALIZING WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE NEW HYUNDAI SONATA AIRBAG SENSORS, WE DID NOT TAKE THE EXTRA CUSHION ALONG WITH US ON THE TEST DRIVE. THREE DAYS LATER WE DISCOVERED THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DID NOT RECOGNIZE MY WIFE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE USING HER EXTRA CUSHION FOR SUPPORT. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE HYUNDAI SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WERE UNSUCCESSFUL, AND I FINALLY CONVINCED THE GENERAL MANAGER TO HAVE THE OCS SYSTEM CONNECTED TO THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND CHECK THE OPERATING SPECIFICATIONS. THE GENERAL MANAGER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT THE SENSORS WERE WORKING PROPERLY, BUT THEY STATED THAT HYUNDAI IS NOW USING A "GEL PACK" IN THE SEAT TO SENSE IF SOMEONE IS SITTING THERE. IN THE OWNERS MANUAL THERE IS A NOTE SAYING THAT A THICK COAT OR EXTRA CUSHION WILL NOT ALLOW THE SENSORS TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY PROBLEM SINCE ANYONE WEARING A THICK COAT AND SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF THE 2015 SONATA WOULD NOT BE PROTECTED BY THE AIRBAG. ALSO, MY WIFE IS NOT THE ONLY PERSON USING AN EXTRA CUSHION FOR SUPPORT WHILE RIDING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF A VEHICLE. WE ARE NOW STUCK WITH A NEW CAR THAT IS UNSAFE FOR MY WIFE TO RIDE IN "COMFORTABLY". WE HAVE EXPERIMENTED WITH "OTHER" VEHICLES, AND THE EXTRA CUSHION DOES NOT EFFECT THE SENSORS IN THEM.

THE VEHICLE BECAME SLOW TO RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER MORE THAN FIVE TIMES, BUT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.

ON SEPTEMBER 21 I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY CAR JUST DIED IT STARTED JERKING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT AND SKID LIGHT CAME ON I WAITED AND IT RESTARTED IT MOVED MAYBE ABOUT AN INCH OR SO AND SHUT DOWN AGAIN, I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET IT SIT AND IT RESTARTED I PROCEED TO TAKE IT TO COCOA HYUNDAI AND TOLD THEM THAT THIS IS THE (2) SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM THEY KEPT THE CAR RAN EVERY TEST CALLED THE HYUNDAI TECH AND THEY PROCEEDED TO INFORM ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS CAR.
