NOTHING WAS FOUND SO I TOOK THE CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE. AND WHEN I SLOWED ON MY STREET PRIOR TO TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY THE CAR TOOK OFF ON IT'S OWN AGAIN. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO STOP IT. WHEN I DID THE ENGINE REDLINED BY ITSELF. *TR
THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM MODULE (ABS) HAS BURNED OUT AND IS HAPPENING SO OFTEN, INFINITY IS UNABLE TO SUPPLY THE DEMAND AND THERE IS A NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER FOR THE PART. AFTER WAITING 2 WEEKS FOR THE PART BEGINNING 10/31/13, MY MECHANIC DISCONNECTED THE ABS MODULE, SO THAT I CAN HAVE TRANSPORTATION BECAUSE HE DOES NOT KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. I NO LONGER HAVE USE OF ABS AND THIS ALSO KEEPS VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL FROM FUNCTIONING. AS OF TODAY'S DATE 12/09/13, I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE PART AND DRIVING WITHOUT THE USE OF SAFETY FEATURES DURING THIS WET WINTER MONTHS. IT MAY BE WORTH NOTING THAT THE LOW END OF THIS REPAIR AT AN INDEPENDENT SHOP IS $1400 AND HIGH END $2100. A COST MANY PEOPLE MAY NOT BE ABLE AFFORD LEADING TO MORE DISCONNECTED ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEMS ON THE ROAD. *TR
WHEN EMERGENCY BRAKING, MY VEHICLE'S ABS SYSTEM DIPS HARD AND PULLS HEAVILY TO THE FRONT RIGHT OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING A HARSH RIGHT SIDE PULL TO THE STEERING WHEEL. HAS OCCURRED AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 60-65 MPH AND 30-35 MPH, DRY AND WET ROADS, HIGHWAY AND SURFACE STREETS. TIRES WERE NEARLY NEW AND PROPERLY INFLATED DURING ONE OCCURRENCE. HAVE REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES BUT REFUSE TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER AS THEY ARE UNABLE TO "DUPLICATE" THE ISSUE. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS VEHICLE IS "TOO SOPHISTICATED" TO DO ANY FURTHER INSPECTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 INIFINTI G35 COUPE. WHEN HE APPLIES PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, HE HEARS A SQUEAKING NOISE. SOMETIMES WHEN BRAKING HE FEELS GRINDING. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. HE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH INFINITE CONSUMER AFFAIRS, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. HE WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TRADED IN FOR A 2009 INFINITI. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52000.
MY SERVICE STATION NOTIFIED ME THAT I NEEDED NEW BRAKES ON MY 2006 INFINITI G35X AT 9,000 MILES. HAVING BEEN THROUGH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY LAST G35, I FEEL THAT THIS IS UNUSUAL. INFINITI CLAIMS USUAL REPLACEMENT AT ABOUT 20,000 MILES. *TR
ROUTINE SERVICE OF THE 2006 INFINITI G35X SEDAN AT 18,000 MILES REQUIRED NEW FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS AT A COST OF ALMOST $600. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BRAKES, ESPECIALLY THE ROTORS, AT THIS EARLY STAGE I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THIS WAS NORMAL FOR THIS MODEL AT ABOUT 20,000 MILES. MY RESEARCH SHOWED THAT THIS WAS A HISTORICAL PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL, THE COMPANY EVEN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO COVER FRONT BRAKES ON THE 2003-2005 MODELS. COMPLAINT FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS TOLD THIS WAS CONSIDERED NORMAL MAINTENANCE, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD/WOULD DO. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 INFINITY G35 COUPE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED, THIS MADE IT HARD TO CONTROL THE STEERING. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
