The contact owns a 2009 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was flashing, with the message "Passenger Air Bag Off 2” displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, there was no electrical failure found with the POD sensors. The dealer stated that the air bag needed to be replaced. The contact researched and found information on the failure of the air bags. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
Our 2009 Infiniti G37x has developed the dreaded sticky dash issue. The materials in the dashboard have broken down, as a result the dashboard has become VERY reflective. It creates a heavy glare on the windshield both day and night which affects our ability to see out of the windshield. The glare makes it very difficult to see a night when street lights and headlights reflect off of the dash. Thankfully there has been no accidents caused by this issue, but this greatly increases the risk of accident when driving this vehicle. This is a common issue among all vehicles from 2009. I had a similar issue with my 2009 Toyota Camry, the dashboard on that vehicle was replaced under recall. Infiniti should be forced to replace the dashboards in these vehicles due to the safety risk they pose. There was a class action lawsuit for owners in Florida to remedy this issue. I attached several pictures of the glare in both day and night conditions. This problem can be easily seen when sitting in the vehicle.
The dealership sold me a car with a rusted subframe without disclosing the condition of the subframe. The car will not pass inspection because of the subframe. I have had two independent inspection stations tell me this car is unsafe to drive. When I contacted the dealership about this, they said it was my problem, not theirs.
Light blinks for (no airbag on passenger side) working. Light also blinks on dashboard showing no airbags. My car has just over 76,000 miles with meticulous maintenance and no crashes, accidents or even bumps. There are countless complaints, inquiries and threads on the internet regarding the above mentioned problem. I don't know if anyone has taken the time to make an official inquiry but it requires your scrutiny. The fix is a new seat and or an old one that the components still work. There are countless people drivng this vehicle without airbags. We need a fix that won't cost $10,000 (estimate from dealership). Also, where can one find a seat??? Inifinity needs to provide a fix that allows the airbags to function properly without the consumer having to find a new/used seat (and none are available nationwide). The modules are a mere $200 but integrating them into a seat is impossible, so the "fix" is a new seat. This problem exists as the cars age. I project that all inifinities with this style seat have, or are going to have, the same problem as they age. If not, what remedy did Infinity offer in its newer models, leaving the rest of us driving death traps, with no means or opportunity for safely find a "fix". Attached is a copy of the scan from an auto body delearship regarding the lights.
Front passenger air bag occupancy sensor failure. Sensor is located on front passages seat and activates or deactivates passenger air bags based on occupancy and or weight. The vehicle has less than 90,000 miles. Passenger airbag/seat belt warning lamp on. Passenger airbag off indicator light remain on even when passenger seated. Repair cost estimated over $5,000. Vehicle will not pass inspection.
I am the original owner of this 2009 G37 sedan with only 12K miles. This car has never been in an accident. It is perfectly maintained and sits in a garage 99% of the time. Last week the airbag light flashed on. The dealer said the error code was B1018 (Occupant Classification Sensor malfunction). The cost of the passenger seat cushion alone is $7,500. This problem was also found on the 2007 & 2008 G37 models and part of a NHTSA recall (#08V521000). I found this problem all over the internet and this NHTSA site for this model year G37. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM. Why isn't this part of the 2007/2008 recall when the sensor is bad in both instances?
Car is parked in open space. Rain occurs throughout the morning and rain water is in the passenger front floor dripping from the A Pillar.
The passenger airbag does not work. The light on the dashboard indicated it needed service. When I took it into the dealer, they said it was $7,000 to fix. (More than the car is worth for resale.) After some research, I’ve come across complaints about this on multiple sites & comment boards. This is a serious safety issue. I can no longer have passengers in my car (such as my children). Something has to be done.
At only 35,500 miles on my 2009 G37 the Passenger Safety Air Bag sensor light continues to blink. Forums are filled with same 2009 passenger safety air bag sensor problems. Infiniti will not cover. Suggested repair is $6,050.00
This vehicle has been in our ownership since July 2011, making us the second owner. Currently there is approximately 92,219 miles on the car. The airbag light began blinking without any incident or accident. We took it to the local dealership this week. We were told the occupant sensor failure code B1018 was the issue. Per their words on our invoice "cannot get sensor from Infiniti. Will need seat bottom to correct the issue." The estimated price for this repair is $6,400. I noticed the same problem was reported in the 2007 and 2008 models, and these models were recalled. So now I have no airbag protection which makes this a safety issue. I have spoke with Infiniti corporate office regarding this issue without any assistance in resolving the problem. In my opinion this is a manufacturing defect just as it was in the 2007 and 2008 models, and should be recalled.
My dad gifted his 2009 infinity G37, which he purchased new, to my daughter. it has ~50,000 miles. One week into driving the car the air bag sign started flashing. Diagnosis indicated a B1018 error. Infinity of Escondido confirmed a failed OCS sensor for front passenger seat. Replacement cost: part $4100 bottom cushion with frame + $650 labor. Since the car has been hardly driven since originally purchased by my dad, it is clearly a case of a defective sensor, also considering that infinity G37 2007 & 2008 model years have been recalled for the same issue (recall # 08V521000). The entire airbag system in the car has been disabled due to this faulty sensor - this should fall under federal safety mandate and Infinity is refusing to assist. Called their consumer affairs department with case elevated to regional manager (case # [XXX]) making a request to at least meet me halfway through cost of parts - Their answer is sorry "NO". such complaints are prevalent across the internet with stories similar to mine and Infinity is not taking responsibility. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Single owner G37 sedan diagnosed with error code B1018 after reporting a flashing passenger air bag light that suddenly came on. Service provider unbolted seat, disconnected occupant sensor component, cleaned all connections, reconnected and secured so that connector couldn't move. Tried to erase code but unable to do do. Was told I would need a new bottom seat cushion and frame at a cost of approx $3-4k (not including labor). Advised to look at NHSTA for recall information for myself as technician indicated there is no recall for my vehicle. My prior car was a G37 sedan which did have a recall for the exact same issue and it's illogical that this one does not. In reviewing this site, more than 50% of the complaints for this vehicle are tied to the air bags and I stopped reading other complaints when the first five I read all had the exact same issue. Namely, that the light came on suddenly without cause and the only way to correct it, was to replace the seat and sensor. Personally, there is rarely a passenger in my car and the only logical conclusion is that this part is faulty and the original G37 issue was not corrected. Subjecting consumers to the significant repair expense and more importantly, the inherent safety issue a faulty air bag can create, the manufacturer ought to bear the responsibility to correct.
WHEN IT RAINS HEAVY WATER GETS INSIDE THE CAR ON BOTH THE DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGERS SIDE LEAVING THE FLOOR EXTREMELY WET. IT IS GETTING THE WIRES WET. MANY INFINITI OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING AND BELIEVE INIFINITI NEEDS TO MAKE A RECALL.
I was driving at about 65 mph on the tail end of a roughly 2 hour trip. The car shut off on me completely. Fortunately there weren't many cars on the road, so I was able to force the steering wheel - since power steering went out as well, I needed to turn the wheel forcefully - to the shoulder. The brakes worked ok, but not well, again because the engine shut off, so I was forcing the brakes and they took a lot longer to work than normally. Had there been normal to heavy traffic, I'd definitely have been in a very bad crash. The vehicle is available for inspection if needed. This is the second time this situation has occurred to me in this vehicle. There was no warning lamp, message, or symptom prior to or after the incident. A dealer, manufacturer, police, insurance, nor anyone else has inspected or reproduced the problem. Various Infiniti online forums reference the same issue.
The contact owns a 2009 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that the sunroof drain was clogged, allowing water to enter the vehicle causing electrical system failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
A recall was issued for a faulty passenger side airbag sensor on the Infinity G37 model year 2007 -2008 (08V521000). I own a 2009 G37 and it would appear this car is experiencing the same safety issue. The airbag off light for the front passenger seat remains illuminated even with a 200 pound adult seated in it. I also have a constantly flashing airbag warning that is displayed on the dashboard. I am extremely concerned that should my vehicle be involved in a crash, passenger side airbag will not deploy even though there is someone seated in that seat. Infiniti has stated that to repair this issue will cost over $5000 which is nearly the entire value of the car. This recall should be extended to additional model years of the G37.
Car got a flashing airbag light after battery replacement. Reset multiple times just for light to come back. Took to Mears Nissan dealership for diagnosis. Diagnosed with bad occupant detection sensor. Dealership quoted me $4,500 for part without labor. Perfectly good car no longer has operating airbags, my personal safety is now at risk because the cost of repair is greater than the cars value, and the part is on back order for an extended unknown period of time. Vehicle is available for inspection. No other lights at time of incident.
On my 2009 Infiniti g37, the supplemental airbag warning light keeps flashing. I was told by the dealer that the problem is the sensors in the seat cushion and the cost of fixing it is $7,050.00. I asked if that was a common problem and they said yes. This light just start flashing one day without any apparent cause. My issue is that there should be a recall on this since this affects so many of the Infiniti g series. This is a problem that so many owners face and it is not caused by wear and tear or accident or any disturbance whatsoever. In my case, my right front seat is seldom used. I searched the internet and visited the infiniti forums and well as facebook and other platforms and the number of infiniti owners with this woe are many. I honestly think this happens due to some manufacturers defect and if there is an accident, the appropriate airbags may not deploy so this is a potentially dangerous situation. Infiniti needs to issue a recall for this item.
MY CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN AND JERKED IN AND OUT OF FIRST GEAR IVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR MOTNTHS I LOOKED ON INFINITI FORUM AND SEEN ITB12-027D AND INFINITI WILL NOT FIX MY CAR I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE CAR DUE TO THE CAR DRIVING REALLY WEIRD ! AND SWERVED AND HIT A CURB INSTEAD THIS IS RIDICULOUS IM ALSO REPORTING THIS TO THE BBB AS WELL BECAUSE PLENTY OF PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THIS AS AN ISSUE WITH THIS YEARS TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE AND THEY ARENT DOING ANYTHING TO FIX IT BUT THROW PRICES AT THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR THE TO FIX TEHE PROBLEM THEMSELVES
The contact owns a 2009 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that the passenger’s side air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the seat needed to be replaced. The passenger’s side seat wiring and sensor were faulty. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. The consumer stated he has taken is vehicle to the dealer and filed a complaint with Infiniti and both parties are stating there is nothing that they can do.
THE PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT SENSOR IS NOT WORKING
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS FLASHING ON MY - I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND ASK THEM TO INVESTIGATE OR IF THERE WAS A RECALL I'M CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG IS IN DEFAULT THEY CLAIMED THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME LOT OF MONEY FOR THEM TO FIX IT .ITS STILL FLASHING AND THAT WAS ABOUT A YR AGO DEALER SHOULD HAVE RECORD KERNEY MESA INF SAN DIEGO
MY INFINITI SUSTAINED FRONT SUBFRAME DAMAGE FROM ROAD DEBRIS ON SEPT 27, 2020.UPON INSPECTION I SAW THE DAMAGE AND FILED A CLAIM WITH ALLSTATE INSURANCE (CLAIM #060646535) ON NOV 11, 2020. DURING THE CLAIM ALLSTATE REFUSED TO PAY FOR A NEW FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER (INFINITY PART NUMBER 54401-JK00B) AND DEMANDED A USED PART, TAKEN OFF A SALVAGED "JUNK YARD" CAR BE USED. I INQUIRED ABOUT THE TESTING DONE TO CONFIRM STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE "RECYCLED" PART AND FOUND ONLY A CURSORY VISUAL INSPECTION WAS DONE. BECAUSE ALLSTATE WOULD NOT PAY FOR A NEW PART I COULD NOT GET THE CAR REPAIRED AT THE DEALER AS THE DEALER ONLY PUTS NEW PARTS ON CARS. SO I TOOK THE CAR TO CALIBER COLLISION, 1203 AVE K, PLANO, TEXAS 75074. CALIBER WAS ABLE TO "WORK THE SYSTEM" TO GET ALLSTATE TO PAY FOR A NEW PART. MY UNDERSTANDING IS BODY SHOPS DELIBERATLY PURCHASE USED PARTS FOR A LOW QUALITY SUPPLIER THEN REJECT THE PART AND THEN ALLSTATE ALLOWS A NEW PART TO BE PURCHASED. JUST A LITTLE "FOOLING" THE INSURANCE COMPANY. SO COMPLIANT #1 IS WHY ALLSTATE IS ALLOWED TO PUT UNTESTED MAJOR STRUCTURAL PARTS FROM JUNK YARD CARS ONTO CARS ON US HIGHWAYS. THIS IS SIMILAR TO THE STATE FARM BONDING VS. SPOT WELDING REPAIR DONE ON CAR ROOFS WHICH CAUSED INJURY AND A MAJOR LAWSUIT. MY COMPAINT #2 IS THAT CALIBER RE-USED THE SINGLE USE "CRUSH NUTS" WHICH SECURE THE SUSPENSION TO THE UNIBODY DESPITE BEING SHOWN THAT INFINITY LISTS THESE AS 1 TIME USE PARTS WHICH MUST BE REPLACED. I FOUND THIS OUT WAS WAS TOLD THAT IF I PURCHASED THE NUTS I WOULD BE REIMBURSED AND IF I INSTALLED THEM MYSELF MY WARRANTY WE REMAIN IN FORCE. NOW I CANNOT GET CALIBER TO REIMBURSE ME THE $17.28 FOR THE NEW CRUSH NUTS. HOW CAN BODY SHOPS BE ALLOWED TO NOT FOLLOW AUTO MANUFACTURES SAFETY DRIVEN REQUIREMENTS AND RE-USE CRUSH NUTS THAT ARE ONE TIME USE ONLY. ANOTHER MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN ON THE SAME REPAIR.
UPON STARTING THE 2009 G37 WITH JUST OVER 73K MILES ON IT, THE AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING.THE FOLLOWING WEEK, ON DECEMBER 28, 2020, I TOOK THE CAR TO SEWELL INFINITI OF FT. WORTH TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. THE FAULT CODE "B1018 OCCUPANT SENSOR UNIT FAIL" WAS FOUND. THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SEAT LOWER CUSHION ASSEMBLY FOR $6575.89. THE UPSHOT IS THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH A PERSON IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY.
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS BLINKING DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR CONTAINED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IF THIS LIGHT DOES NOT TURN OFF, NO AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. INFINITI CHARGES MORE THAN $7000 TO REPLACE THE SENSOR AND THE SEAT TO FIX THIS OUT OF WARRANTY. INFINITI REFUSES TO DO A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE WHICH HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE VERY COMMON IN NISSAN AND INFINITI VEHICLES.
AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE USED, I BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON INDICATOR HAS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD AFTER TWO WEEKS OF THE PURCHASE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO VALVOLINE FOR THE OIL CHANGE SERVICE, AND THE LIGHT WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. NOTIFIED MY PERSONAL MECHANIC OF THE ISSUE AS WELL AS THE DEALER. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AUTOZONE AND USED THEIR FREE DIAGNOSTIC READER, WHICH STATED THE O2 SENSOR FOR BANK 2 SENSOR 1 AS THE ISSUE. PURCHASED THE PART FROM THE DEALER, TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC FOR SERVICE. AFTER I PAID FOR THE SERVICE, THE SAME DAY THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT BACK TO AUTOZONE AND THE DIAGNOSTIC READ BANK 1 SENSOR 1. TOOK IT TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS TO ONLY HAVE THE RUN AROUND OF PAYING THEM TO LOOK AT BUT NOT FIX THE ISSUE. CALLED THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM, AND THEY WAS SUPPOSED TO SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEIR MECHANIC AND DID NOT. I HAD TO RESCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT ON MY OWN. NEVER TOOK IT BECAUSE I WENT BACK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE SENSOR. AGAIN, THE SAME DAY OF SERVICE THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN, THE CAR STALLED VERY BADLY, AND SHUT OFF ON ME. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE, AND DRIVE IT HOME. NOT ONLY AM I MAKING MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON THE VEHICLE, I'M PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS A HAZARD ON THE ROAD. I AM PUTTING MONEY I DON'T HAVE INTO A LEMON, ONLY HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR TWO MONTHS WITH A ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE ISSUE THAT I CAN NOT RESOLVE ON MY OWN.
*THE NISSAN AND INFINITI OIL GALLERY GASKET PROBLEM* IT'S RIDICULOUS HOW NISSAN AND INFINITI HAVE NOT COME FORWARD WITH A STATEMENT ABOUT THIS NOTORIOUS PROBLEM. IT'S AN UTTER SHAME HOW A COMPANY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THEIR FAILURES IN THEIR CARS. SOME NISSAN AND INFINITI VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A PAPER MATERIAL GALLERY GASKET THAT TENDS TO FAIL AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT IT DOES NOT MATTER THE MILEAGE NOR THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE IT'S BOUND TO HAPPEN REGARDLESS. NISSAN/INFINITI SILENTLY CHANGED THE GALLERY GASKET IN SOME PRE-2012 PRODUCTION CARS TO A MORE REINFORCED GALLERY GASKET MADE OUT OF METAL PART # OF GASKET: 13533-JK21B - SMALL LOWER GASKET, 13533-JK21A - LARGE UPPER GASKET. VEHICLES AFFECTED 350Z 370Z G35 G37 FX35 FX45. MOREOVER, THIS PROBLEM IS INEVITABLE!! CARS EQUIPPED WITH THE FAULTY PART CAN PUT MANY AT RISK OF AN ACCIDENT OF ANY SORT. NOT JUST THAT, BUT THE BURDEN OF THE COSTLY LABOR THAT GOES TO REPLACING THE PART. IT'S TIME FOR NISSAN TO PAY THEIR PART AND FIX OUR CARS!
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG WEIGHT SENSOR FAILURE. AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY DUE TO SENSOR FAILURE. REPLACEMENT PART IS AN ENTIRE SEAT AND WORTH APPROXIMATELY THE VALUE OF THE CAR. 67K MILES ON THE VEHICLE, STARTED WHILE PARKED. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.
FOR YEARS NOW MY INFINITI G37 DASHBOARD IS MELTING CAUSING OBSTRUCTION TO MY VISIBILITY. TODAY ON MY WAY FROM WORK THE GLARE WAS SO BAD I WAS SO CLOSE TO GETTING AN ACCIDENT. THE REFLECTION CAN SOMETIMES MAKE IT HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT! NOTHING WORKS I TRIED CLEANING IT WITH A WET RAG AND NOTHING WORKS. INFINITI SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM IT'S ABSURD HOW A 'LUXURY' COMPANY TENDS TO CUT CORNERS TO MAKE CHEAP DASHBOARDS.
I TURNED ON MY CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY ONE DAY AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR HAS GONE BAD IN MY CAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF AND HAS 50,000 MILES. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON AND EXPENSIVE ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. NOT TO MENTION THAT IF YOU'RE IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAVE A PASSENGER SITTING IN YOUR CAR, THEIR AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY.
The contact owns a 2009 Infiniti G37. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the airbag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the passenger’s side airbag sensor was damaged and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the part to fix the vehicle was no longer being manufactured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage is approximately 100,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON A STATE HIGHWAY WITH NO BREAKDOWN LANE, ONLY A 'SOFT SHOULDER' GOING ABOUT 70 MPH IN THE MIDDLE LANE. THERE WAS A VEHICLE IN FRONT OVER ME GOING ABOUT 65 MPH AND THE FURTHEST LEFT LANE WAS MOVING CLOSER TO MY SPEED. WHEN THERE WAS AN OPENING, I SIGNALED AND BEGAN CHANGING LANES WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN JERKING AND LOSING POWER. THERE WAS A CAR APPROACHING FAST IN THAT LEFT LANE AND ALSO THE VEHICLE THAT WAS BEHIND ME IN THE MIDDLE LANE BEGAN CLOSING IN. I NEARLY CAUSED A THREE CAR PILE UP TRYING GET OVER TO THE SOFT SHOULDER. THESE VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A VQ37VHR MOTOR WHICH INFINITI EQUIPPED WITH A PAPER GASKET IN THE DEPTHS OF THE MOTOR CALLED A 'GALLEY GASKET'. ITS CHEAP FRAGILE DESIGN CAUSES LOSS OF POWER AND FOR THE VEHICLE TO NOT EXCEED 2500 RPMS WHICH IS VERY UNSAFE FOR HIGHWAY DRIVING AS MANY TIMES IT IS NECESSARY TO SAFELY NAVIGATE OR EVEN EXIT THE ROADWAY. THE PAPER GASKET CAUSES INEVITABLE DEMISE TO THE MOTOR ALLOWING OIL TO ENTER WHERE IT SHOULD NOT. THIS IS ALL BEFORE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVEN ILLUMINATES. ONCE THE LIGHT COMES ON, IT WILL DISPLAY A CODE 'P0011' AND/OR 'P0021' WHICH CALLS FOR THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING SOLENOID TO BE ADDRESSED. I REPLACED BOTH, CHANGED THE OIL, AND THE CAR DROVE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS THEN THE SAME THING REPEATED. AFTER GOING TO NUMEROUS SHOPS AND THEM EITHER NOT WANTING TO TAKE ON THE JOB OR NOT KNOWING WHAT ELSE THE ISSUE MAY BE, I WENT TO THE INFINITI DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEED A NEW MOTOR. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, I'VE COME ACROSS THOUSANDS OF OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. THE MORE HANDY ONES WITH TIME HAVE DISCOVERED THIS 'NISSAN' CORK PAPER GASKET CAUSING THE ISSUE. INFINITI DESIGNER AND MANUFACTURED THESE MOTORS WITH POOR QUALITY GASKETS THEN CHARGE THE CUSTOMER UPWARDS TO $3000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM THEY CAUSED THROUGH THEIR OWN NEGLIGENCE OR OVER $5000 FOR A NEW MOTOR.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR LOCATED IN BASE OF PASSENGER SEAT IS FAULTY RENDERING THE AIRBAG NOT FUNCTIONAL. THE SENSOR IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT AND THE BOTTOM SEAT UNIT MUST BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF $7,000. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, IT APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD TO THE MODEL AND YEAR. THE AIRBAG LIGHT BLINKS ON THE DASHBOARD INDICATING AN ISSUE. THE ISSUE WAS CONFIRMED AT HE INFINITI DEALER AND ALSO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC.
AIRBAG SENSOR WAS BLINKING ON MY DASH AFTER STARTING IT IN MY DRIVEWAY TO DRIVE TO WORK. I TOOK IT IN TO AN INFINITY DEALERSHIP AND ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS A SEAT SENSOR TO BE REPLACE WITH ONLY 40K MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE PART ALONE COST $6340.00 WHICH ISN'T WORTH FIXING. I WASN'T TOLD OF ANY OTHER OPTION AND SEEMS TO HAVE HAPPENED A LOT WITH OTHER OWNERS AND NO RECALL OF ANY SORT IS TO BE ISSUED.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED BLINKING, I GOT IT CHECKED AND I WAS TOLD THE INFANT SEAT SENSOR WAS BAD AND ALL THE SEAT HAS TO BE CHANGED $6000. I CHECKED A COUPLE OF ONLINE FORUMS AND IT SEEMS LIKE IN THE PAST 2 YEARS PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CAR MODEL HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. BASICALLY THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR IS NOT WORKING SO IT SHUTS OFF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM FOR THE PASSENGER.
NEED TO REPLACE EITHER OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CONTROL UNIT WHICH IS PART OF THE LOWER SEAT ASSEMBLY. COST APPROX. 4000 TO 5000 THOUSAND DOLLARS OR REPLACE AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT WHICH IS UNDER CENTER CONSOLE. COST APPROX. 1700 DOLLARS. CANNOT TELL ME WHICH ONE TO REPLACE. CAR HAS 34000 MILES ON IT. INTERNET TELLS ME THAT THIS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS BLINKING SO TOOK TO DEALERSHIP CHARGED $149.00 AND SAID THEY CLEARED CODES...SERVICE MAN SAID THAT SOMETHING ABOUT PASSENGER SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR AROUND $7000.00...LIGHT HAS COME BACK ON😬
VEHICLE'S ENGINE STALLED (SHUTTERED, ACCELERATION LOST, FELT LIKE CHOKING) AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, ABOUT 50-60 MPH, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I NEEDED TO PULL OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER IMMEDIATELY AS THE CAR DECELERATED TO UNDER 30 WITHIN SECONDS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SOON AFTER. SEARCHED "2009 INFINITI G37 ENGINE SPUTTERING" WITH HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR RESULTS, SOMEHOW INFINITI DEALERSHIPS WERE NEVER ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE DEFECT. THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND INFINITI NEEDS TO START PLACING HUMAN LIVES OVER THEIR SALES.
I HAVE A 2009 INFINITI G37 WITH THE DASHBOARD ALL CRACKED. THIS WAS A PROBLEM AS WELL IN MY 2006 INFINITI M35. WHEN MY PREVIOUS INFINITI HAD THE WHOLE DASHBOARD CRACKED IT WAS A RECALL AND I TOOK IT TO INFINITI AND HAD IT REPLACED. I THOUGHT THE SAME WOULD HAPPEN FOR THIS ONE SINCE IT'S THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM BUT I FIND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS MODEL. I BELIEVE IT HAD TO DO SOMETHING WITH THE AIR BAGS CAUSING THE CRACKING ON THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED IN ALL INFINITI CARS AS THIS IS THEIR ISSUE.
AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY BLINKS AND CANT BE RESET.
PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR BLINKS CONTINUOUSLY. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD ENTIRE SEAT MUST BE REPLACED. PRICE FOR SEAT IS MORE THAN WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH. SO PASSENGER WILL NOT BE PROTECTED IN CASE OF ACCIDENT.
WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SYSTEM THAT IT WAS NOT OPERATIONAL. I RESEARCHED IT AND BELIEVE IT IS A FAULTY SENSOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER G37S OF THE SAME MODEL YEAR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I BELIEVE THE WHOLE SRS SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING.
AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING. PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT ILLUMINATED.DIAGNOSIS CODE B1018 OCCUPANT SENS. DEALER RESET THE AIRBAG LIGHT HOWEVER THE NEXT DAY IT WAS FLASHING AGAIN.
AIR BAG DASHBOARD LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ANYONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. FAULT CODE B1018 SHOWN WHEN CAR TAKEN TO SHOP. NO WAY TO REPAIR OTHER THAN TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SENSOR AND PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION, WHICH IS QUOTED AT $5000-$6000 FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR PARTS. THERE IS NO REASON THAT A DEFECTIVE PASSENGER-SIDE SEAT SENSOR SHOULD DISABLE ALL THE AIRBAGS IN THE VEHICLE. THIS STRONGLY DESERVES A RECALL, AS IT SEEMS TO HAVE SUDDENLY BEEN HAPPENING TO LARGE NUMBERS OF 2009 G37S THIS YEAR. THIS DEFECT PUTS THE DRIVER AT SIGNIFICANT RISK EVEN THOUGH HIS/HER OWN AIRBAG AND ALL OTHER AIRBAG SENSORS SHOULD STILL FUNCTION NORMALLY.
BETWEEN 40-50 MPH, ON A BUSY RURAL HIGHWAY, THE CAR WOULD OCCASIONALLY (ONCE IN 3 MONTHS) GO INTO LIMP MODE. THIS PROBLEM IS NOW OCCURRING WEEKLY! YOU CANNOT ACCELERATE MORE 2,000 RPMS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. YOU CAN MANUALLY SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION TO A HIGHER GEAR TO GET TO A SAFE SPOT TO PULL OVER. HOWEVER, IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION MIGHT FALL OUT OF THE CAR WHEN SHIFTING. MOST OF THE TIME, WHEN YOU CUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT, IT RUNS AS NORMAL. IT'S LIKE THE COMPUTER RESETS. AS OF LATE, I HAVE TO CUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART TWICE. THIS IS BEGINNING TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY, LIKE ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK. WE HAVE CONSULTED WITH A DEALER, AND HAVE TRIED SEVERAL RECOMMENDATIONS. WE HAVE NEW AIR FILTERS AND MAS AIR SENSORS. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, WE FOUND A DEALERSHIP WHO ADMITTED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN OR HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THIS COULD BE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON 12-13-2019 WITH THIS DEALERSHIP.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN FLASHING THE LAST FEW MONTHS I TOOK IT TO A SHOP TO SEE IF THE COULD SCAN IT TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. WELL IT HAPPENS TO BE THE OCCUPANCY SEAT SENSOR, AND INFINITI DOESS NOT SELL JUST THAT PART, THEY WANT YOU TO BUY THE WHOLE LOWER PART OF THE SEAT, WHICH COMES TO LITTLE OVER 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS??!! SERIOUSLY, NOW THAT THIS ISSUE IS ON THE TABLE ANYONE WITH THE SAME ISSUE GET INTO A SERIOUS WRECK AND THE AIRBAGS DO NOT DEPLOY AS THEY SHOULD THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. PLEASE GET THIS RECALLED.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON & BLINKING FOR ABOUT A MONTH. 2009 INFINITI G37. TOOK CAR FOR REPAIR & WAS ADVISED OVER 5K TO REPAIR SENSOR UNDER PASSENGER SEAT. CAR HAS ONLY 35,000 MILES & HADN'T EVEN BEEN DRIVEN ALL SUMMER AND NO ONE EVER SITS IN PASSENGER SEAT! THIS IS DEFINITELY A DEFECT THAT WARRANTS A RECALL BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY, MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM ALL OVER INTERNET. INFINITI NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT.
AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHES SEEMS TO BE COMMON PROBLEM DEALER WANTED CLOSE TO 4K TO REPLACE SEAT SENSOR FOR DRIVER/PASSENGER SHOULD BE A COMPLETE RECALL ON THIS THATA MORS THEN CAR IS WORTH
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON MY 2009 INFINITY G37 CONVERTIBLE WAS FLASHING SO I TOOK THE CAR TO THE INFINITY DEALER ON 8/22/19 AND THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BAD OCCUPANT SENSOR (CODE 1018). DEALER SAID THAT THE SENSOR WAS A PART OF THE LOWER SEAT AND THAT IT HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A GROSSLY EXCESSIVE COST OF $6911.13. DEALER SAID THAT BECAUSE THE SENSOR WAS BAD THE ENTIRE SRS SYSTEM IN MY CAR IS COMPROMISED AND WILL NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT APPEARS THAT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF G37 OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE. I AM RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT NHTSA ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
MY CAR WAS CUTTING OFF AND OVER HEATING BUT IT EVENTUALLY LOCKED UP ON ME WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY
