There are 5 owner-reported body & structure complaints for the 2013 Infiniti G37in NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
Sunroof drain tube leaks water down passenger side A-pillar onto body control module above glovebox causing damage to system, electrical connections, air bag, engine light to activate, vehicle going into limp mode. Drain is functioning and not stopped up. Dealer unable to correct long term using OEM parts available for replacement. Vehicle and invoices available for inspection. When leaking, water runs down A-pillar, onto computer module above glove box, and into passenger foot well.
2013 G37 with only 58K in miles. The passenger interior was flooded after some rainstorms. The dealer has provided me an estimate of $3,000 to repair the sunroof drain and the water damage to the body control module (BCM). Infiniti Consumer Affairs has been zero help. They just gave me the run around. There are tons of videos and posts regarding the defect with the sunroof drain.
WATER LEAKING INTO THE CABIN OF THE G SERIES VEHICLES , LIKELY FROM THE WEARING GASKET OF THE PART KNOWN AS 'PLUG-SIDE TRIM'. SOAKS THE CARPET AND MAY POSSIBLY DAMAGE WIRING UNDER CARPET (WHICH MAY DAMAGE ELECTRONICS AND IN THE CASE OF OTHER MANUFACTURERS, CAUSE FIRES), AS WELL AS CREATE A MOLD\MILDEW HAZARD AND CONDENSATION THAT CAN CLOUD ROAD VISIBILITY.
MY DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT OPEN WITH EITHER THE REMOTE OR THE KEY AT TIMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT GETS COLD. OTHER TIMES IF I GET IN, THE DOOR MECHANISM WILL NOT LATCH. AGAIN, THE REMOTE DOES NOT FIX THIS SO I TRIED THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE ARM REST. THAT WORKED BUT THEN I COULD NOT GET OUT. NOT SAFE IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE, FLOOD, OR ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND. I HAVE HAD TO CLIMB OVER MY CONSOLE AND I DO NOT THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO WITH A CAR THE CALIBER OF AN INFINITY. NO OTHER CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM.
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND BRAKING GOING 1 OR 2 MPH THE CAR SURGED FORWARD WITH THE ENGINE REVVING LOUDLY, CAUSING THE CAR TO CRASH THROUGH A BRICK WALL AND INTO A RESTAURANT ENDING IN THE CAR BEING TOTALED WITH OVER $15,000 OF DAMAGE JUST TO THE CAR. THE CAR ONLY HAD 20,000 MILES. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH FOR "G37 SURGE WHILE BRAKING" RESULTS IN NUMEROUS DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS IN WHICH THIS HAS HAPPENED AS WELL AS ON THIS WEBSITE UNDER INFINITI G37.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
