THE MASTERCYLINDER LEAKED OUT ALL THE BRAKE FLUID OUT THRU BAD SEAL. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THE LAST THREE TIMES IT WAS DONE BY THE NISSAN TWIN CITY NISSAN DEALER. THIS TIME IT FAILE DWITHIN A YEAR SO IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CAR PUT IN SHOP 02/28/2025 WEDNESDAY. SERVICE REP NISSAN HAS NO IDEA WHY IT HAS FAILED 4 TIMES.
WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN LOST BRAKES, BRAKE LIGHTS CAM ON. WAS ABLE TO STOP BU PUMPING THE BRAKES. FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE MASTER CYLINDER. TOOK TO LOCALNISSAN DEALER TWIN CITY NISSAN PORT ARTHUR. THEY SAID THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS BAD. THIS IS THE THIRD ONE TO GO BAD. THEY REPAIRED ON 09/25/2024 WITH 121,178 MILES. THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY FROM THE TEXARKANA DEALER AS THEY DIDNT DO THE WORK. HAD TO PAY AGIN.

BRAKE PEDDLE RANDOMLY GOES TO FLOOR AND ENGAGES SEATBELT VIOLENTLY WHEN STOPPING.
ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR- WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL CONTINUE TO DEPRESS. WHEN THE BREAK IS RELEASED A CHIRPING SOUND IS MADE. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE ON THE 2017 MODEL. THE DEALER AND SEVERAL CHAT GROUPS ONLINE ALL POINT TO THIS BEING A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE MODEL. THERE IS A 2017 RECALL FOR THIS PART. THE RECALL SAYS IT IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. I BELIEVES THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. THE ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR SHOULD NOT FAIL ON A VEHICLE WITH 77,000 MILES. I HAD THE CAR AT THE DEALER FOR THE ISSUE PREVIOUSLY AND THEY "COULD NOT FIND" THE ISSUE. A THIRD TRIP AND THE ISSUE IS FOUND.
INTERMITTENT ISSUES INVOLVING THE BRAKING SYSTEM. MOST DAYS THE ISSUE IS NOT PRESENT. SOME DAYS THE ISSUE OCCURS THE ENTIRE DAY. SOME DAYS THE ISSUE ONLY OCCURS ONCE OUT OF 4-5 TIMES THE VEHICLE IS USED. 1. BRAKE PEDAL SINKS TO FLOOR WHEN AT A STOP. WHEEZING SOUND WHEN RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL. 2. WHEN BRAKING SOFTLY, BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS ABOUT 50% BEFORE THE VEHICLE BEGINS SLOWING. 3. ISSUE PERSISTS THE ENTIRE TIME THE CAR IS IN USE. RESTARTING THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES RESTORES FUNCTIONALITY.
2014 QX 60 ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS (DEC 18, 2015 AND JAN 2ND,2016, ROUGHLY 2 WEEKS APART ) THE TOP BOLTS ON THE FRONT BREAK CALIPERS FELL OFF CAUSING THE CALIPER TO TILT OFF THE ROTOR. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL STARTED MAKING SOME GRINDING NOISES WHILE DRIVING, AS IF THE BREAK PADS WERE LOW. THE NOISE STARTED OFF A BEING VERY LIGHT WHEN BREAKING, THEN CONTINUOUS GRINDING. IT WAS NOT UNTIL FURTHER INSPECTION THAT WE REALIZED THAT THE ENTIRE CALIPER FALLEN FORWARD AND WAS RUBBING ONTO THE INTERIOR OF THE WHEEL RIM. WE MADE THE REPAIR AND REPLACED THE BOLT AND ASSUMED IT WAS A FLUKE AND JUST ONE OF THOSE RANDOM THINGS. TWO WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN SAN DIEGO, WE STARTED TO HEAR THE SAME NOISE AGAIN. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION WE DISCOVERED THAT THE OTHER FRONT CALIPER HAD ALSO BECOME DISENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST INIFINTI DEALER FOR INSPECTION. IT WAS A SATURDAY EVENING AND WAS NOT TILL TUESDAY MORNING WHEN THEIR SERVICE DEPT REPLACED THE MISSING BOLT AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT, I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE TO DISCOVER THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ON THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WE EXPERIENCED, WITH THE CALIPER BOLTS NOT BEING TORQUED ON DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. HOWEVER AFTER DISCUSSING WITH THE DEALER AND INFINITI, I WAS TOLD THE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE THE MANUFACTURING DATE OF MY VEHICLE. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE THE BREAK PADS WERE STILL INTACT WITH THE CALIPER WHEN IT SHIFTED FORWARD OFF THE ROTOR. IN THE SECOND INSTANCE THE BREAK PADS ACTUALLY SLIPPED OFF THE CALIPER. PHOTO ATTACHED.
