The contact pulled over and noticed fire emerging from the engine compartment. The vehicle continued to burn down. The battery warning light was illuminated before the failure. There were no reported crashes or injuries. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The fire department extinguished the fire and determined the failure was due to an electrical fire. The vehicle was towed to the towing lot. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who opened a case and referred him to the dealer.
