The contact's brother-in-law was seated in the rear seat and the seat belt failed to retract afterwards. The vehicle was taken to a non-Jaguar dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the seat belt automatic locking retractors had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V667000 (SEAT BELTS). The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
The rear seat belts do not retract back nor do they lock in place. You either have to pull and play with them to get them to work properly or they will not work at all!
