There are 1 owner-reported electrical system complaints for the 2013 Jaguar XJin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
IN WEATHER BELOW 30 DEGREES F, PARKED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME ON THE STREET, AND USUALLY IN FROST CONDITIONS, DOORS WILL NOT OPEN ON CAR. ONCE YOU GET DOOR TO OPEN, USUALLY BY LOWERING WINDOW AND UNLOCKING FROM INSIDE, DOORS WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED. ONCE CAR WARMS UP, DOORS LATCH CLOSED. DOORS NEED TO BE HELD BY HAND OR BY BUNGEE CORD TO KEEP CLOSED UNTIL CAR WARMS UP AND DOOR LATCHES CLOSED. AT TIMES, YOU ARE ABLE TO ENTER THE CAR, BUT ONCE INSIDE THE DRIVERS SEAT, YOU CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. DURING THIS INCIDENT, THE DRIVERS WINDOW WAS LOWERED AND DOOR OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS USUALLY OCCURS TO ALL DOORS, AND IF FORTUNATE, ONE DOOR WILL OPEN. AS A FURTHER NOTE, DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM IS ELECTRONIC. JAGUAR SERVICE TECHNICIANS COULD NOT FIND ISSUE.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
