TRANSMISSION (AUTOMATIC) FAILED AT 3,500 MILES. CAR WOULD NO LONGER GO INTO GEAR AND ENGAGE IN ANY GEAR (DRIVE, REVERSE, ETC).

VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD WHISTLING NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTS UP, IS IDLE, AND WHEN IT ACCELERATES VEHICLE ALSO JERKS WHEN IT SHIFTS GEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED BEFORE MOVING FORWARD. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIFTGATE WAS ACTIVATED AND FAILED TO FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A MODULAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V393000 (STRUCTURE) AND 15V509000 (VISIBILITY) HOWEVER,THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FRAME WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY WOBBLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

LOSS OF AUTOMOTIVE POWER THE VEHICLE STALLED FAULTY TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SENSOR THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE BEFORE SUDDENLY ACCELERATING VERY FAST. THE "CHECK ENGINE" WARNING LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED AND THE MESSAGE "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" WAS PRESENT. ON OCCASIONS THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND WOULD NOT PROPERLY SHIFT GEARS WHILE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE HAD STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER LEE JEEP/CHRYSLER(777 CENTER ST. AUBURN MAINE) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SENSOR WAS FAULTY. THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SENSOR HAD BEEN REPROGRAMMED AND REPLACED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
The parking brake comes or activates for no known reason. I tow this Jeep behind my RV and have had the parking brakes come on while on the highway and streets. It is very dangerous because it causes the jeep to sway left and right making it hard to control the RV. You literally have to stop where ever you are and exit the RV, go to the Jeep and manually unlock the parking brakes. VERY DANGEROUS!!! It has happened numerous times.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED BEFORE MOVING FORWARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V393000 (STRUCTURE) AND 15V509000 (VISIBILITY) HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE UNAVAILABLE. ON 1/30/15 WHILE CLEARING SNOW OFF MY 2014 CHEROKEE, THE WIPER SNAPPED BACK AND LEFT A MAJOR CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD THAT GOES FROM EDGE TO EDGE, AND ALMOST ALL THE WAY UP AS WELL. THE IMPACT WAS NOT THAT FORCEFUL AT ALL. I HAVE NOW BEEN WAITING 26 DAYS FOR A REPLACEMENT AS OF TODAY. ON SATURDAY 2/21/15 I SPOKE WITH SOMEBODY AT A CHRYSLER FACTORY IN DETROIT AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE OVER 900 OF THESE PARTICULAR WINDSHIELDS ON BACKORDER AND MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE TILL APRIL. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE IF THEY HAVE THAT MANY BACKED UP, THERE MUST BE A FAULT OR DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OR MANUFACTURE OF THIS PARTICULAR WINDSHIELD. IT HAS A BUILT IN WIPER DE-ICER. ONLY THAT ONE IS NOT AVAILABLE, THE WINDSHIELD WITHOUT THAT OPTION IS AVAILABLE. BUT SINCE THIS AN OPTION I PAID EXTRA FOR, I WANT IT BACK. AGAIN, IS THERE ANY WORD ON THIS BEING AN ONGOING ISSUE? ON OR AROUND JANUARY 29, 2015, WHEN I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE IT LUNGED FORWARD EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK AND THE PARKING BRAKE WAS SET. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REFLASHED BY THE JEEP DEALERSHIP ON FEBRUARY 3, 2015. ON THE DRIVE HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND BEGAN MAKING A LOUD WHINE/CHATTER/CHIRPING/METAL SEQUEL NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER JEEP DEALERSHIP WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. STARTING ON OR AROUND MARCH 12, 2015, THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING THE WHINE/CHATTER/CHIRPING/METAL SEQUEL NOISE AGAIN WHEN ACCELERATING. I REPORTED THE DEFECT OR CONDITION ON WISCONSIN DOT FORM MV2692 AND MADE MY VEHICLE AVAILABLE FOR REPAIR 4 TIMES (3/16/15, 3/18/15, 3/24/15, & 4/8/15). FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES (JEEP) AND/OR DEALER IS REFUSING, UNWILLING, OR UNABLE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. ANOTHER PROBLEM RELATED TO THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION OCCURRED ON APRIL 30, 2015. I WAS AT AN INTERSECTION WAITING TO TURN LEFT. WHEN PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO PROCEED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION ONCE THE TRAFFIC CLEARED THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO MOVE AND WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY CONNECTED IT LUNGED CAUSING THE WHEELS SPIN. SINCE JANUARY 5, 2015, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR 46 DAYS. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ALONG WITH THE OTHER 4 CURRENT DEFECTS OR CONDITIONS WERE REPORTED TO CHRYSLER'S ENHANCED CUSTOMER SATISFACTION TEAM OVER A MONTH AGO. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, CHRYSLER HAS NOT REPLIED WITH A RESOLUTION. FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES (JEEP) AND/OR DEALER IS REFUSING, UNWILLING, OR UNABLE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE SINCE 1500 MILES OFF THE LOT BRAND NEW JEEP. AND THEN AT 2800 AND THEN AT 3000 MILES THEY REPLACED THE POWER CONTROL MODULE THEN TWO MORE TIMES FOR SOFTWARE UPDATE. THEN AT 10250 THEY TELL ME THE TRANSMISSION HAS GONE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AS IF ANYTHING ELSE CAN GO WRONG WITH THIS CAR THE TIRES THEY PUT ON FROM THE DEALERSHIP FIRESTONE MY AFT RIGHT TIRE SPLIT ON THE SIDEWALL FOR NO REASON AT ALL THE ONLY DAMAGE ON THE TIRE WAS THE CRACK ON THE TIRE. SO NOT ONLY IS THE CAR DEFECTIVE BUT THE WHEELS FROM FIRESTONE AS WELL. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED MY HORRIBLE LUCK. *TR
IN JANUARY I WAS TRAVELING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE IN ORDER TO PASS ANOTHER CAR. INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING, THE JEEP ACTED AS THOUGH IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE RPM'S WENT UP BUT THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE, FORCING ME TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THEN, IN APRIL, I WAS TAKING A LEFT ONTO A VERY BUSY MAIN ROAD, WITH JUST ENOUGH TIME TO GET OUT IN FRONT OF AN 18-WHEELER. WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE IT DID THE SAME THING; ACTED AS THOUGH IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND ROLLED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE TRUCK GOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO SLAM ON ITS BRAKES AND HONK, AND THE CAR ROUGHLY SLAMMED INTO FIRST GEAR JUST IN TIME. WHEN I TRIED TO DRIVE IT INTO A PARKING LOT IT DID THE SAME THING, AND I WAS FORCED TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALL A TOW TRUCK. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN SHUT OFF. THE "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER SENDING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP, TWO DAYS LATER I EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. THE TRUCK SHUT OFF WHEN I WAS TURNING INTO THE INTERSECTION WHILE TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL. SAME MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH. I'VE READ ONLINE THAT MANY JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2014, 37,688 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS STILL IN THE SHOP, BUT I AM HONESTLY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE A VEHICLE AND TO HAVE IT JUST SHUT OFF ALL OF A SUDDEN DUE TO A FAULTY TRANSMISSION BY THE MANUFACTURER.
CAR BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER AND STARTED BUCKING WAS TRAVELING AT 70 MPH...THEN IT STARTED THRASHING NUMEROUS CODES AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH STARTED FLASHING THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY A BIG DOWNSHIFT AND THEN A BANG TOTAL LOSS OF POWER ON A MAJOR FREEWAY. WHEN THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IT WOULD NOT DISENGAGE FROM DRIVE THEN AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN PARK. AFTER RESTARTING IT ALL THE STRONG MESSAGE LIGHTS WERE ON AS WELL AS DIFFERENT COMPUTER MESSAGES LIKE CHECK BRAKE, CHECK ENGINE. IF YOU PUT IT IN GEAR IT WOULD MAKE A BIG CLUCK BUT NO POWER WOULD ONLY IDLE. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE AT CAR LOOSES POWER AND STARTS TO BUCK AND DOWNSHIFT TO A LOWER GEAR THEN TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES. ENGINE STAY RUNNING BUT THERE IS NO POWER AND NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN YOU DEPRESS GAS PEDAL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENS CONSISTENTLY. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION MANY TIME KEEPS RANDOMLY SWITCHING BETWEEN GEARS. DEALER AGAIN SAYS ITS A SOFTWARE ISSUE IN THE TRANSMISSION. SOFTWARE RECODES HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM.
FROM STOP ACCELERATING TO MERGE WITH HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND PULLING OUT OF A STREET THE CAR WON'T MOVE. IT'S LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. VERY DANGEROUS, HAVE BEEN ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES. OTHER TIMES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS IRREGULARLY. HAVE TAKEN IT TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP TWICE AND HAVE A THIRD SCHEDULED

THE TRANSMISSION OF MY JEEP DOES WORK PROPERLY. IT FAILS TO SHIFT PROPERLY, SOMETIMES IT IS SLUGGISH/ FAILS TO GO INTO GEAR AS IT SHOULD. IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM JUST STARTING FROM A STOP AND WHEN I AM GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE BEEN TO MY JEEP DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES TO HAVE THEM REPAIR THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE UPDATED THE SOFTWARE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE TRANSMISSION WAS FLASHED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
ON 3 OCCASIONS NOW, MY JEEP CHEROKEE HAS SHUT DOWN/STALLED AS I WAS DRIVING. IT HAPPENED AS I WAS ACCELERATING BETWEEN 50 AND 55 MPH. ALL THE GAGES DROPPED AND EVERYTHING SHUT DOWN. IT LASTED FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS ONLY AND THEN EVERYTHING CAME BACK UP. ON THESE OCCASIONS, I STARTED TO TRY TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, BUT DID NOT HAVE TO. I'VE SEEN SIMILAR POSTS. I HAVE THE VEHICLE SCHEDULED FOR WORK NEXT WEEK, BUT THE DEALERSHIP SEEMS DISINTERESTED ALREADY. I HAVE 3 OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE VEHICLE AS WELL. THREE OTHER ISSUES: 1. THE VEHICLE SHIFTS HARD BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND OR 2ND AND 3RD. IT IS SPORADIC AND DOESN'T ALWAYS HAPPEN. 2. A REAR SHOCK HAS LOST ALL OF IT'S FLUID. I'VE SEEN POSTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. 3. THE AIRBAG RECALL. SO DISAPPOINTING.
DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY. HEARD LOUD BANG THEN "SERVICE TRANSMISSION INDICATION AND LOSS OF TRACTION" CAME ON. I LOST ALL POWER WITH NO WAY TO KEEP UP MY SPEED. I HIT MY 4 WAY FLASHERS AND THE TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK BEHIND ME HAD TO BRAKE HARD AND WENT INTO THE GRASS MEDIAN. I FINALLY COASTED TO THE BERM AND WE GOT OUT TO MAKE SURE EVERYBODY WAS OK. THIS COULD HAVE ENDED IN A VERY DIFFERENT WAY. I FEEL IT IS NOT SAFE FOR ME OR MY FAMILY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. IF THE TRACTOR TRAILER DRIVER WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. *TR

WE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE STEERING COLUMN CONTROL MODULE AND BROUGHT IT IN TO BE FIXED. THIS RECALL DIRECTLY AFFECTS THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. MY WIFE DROVE THE VEHICLE, A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SNOW LAST FRIDAY 1/9/15. AS SOON AS SHE LEFT OUR DRIVEWAY, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND STAYED ON AS THE VEHICLE WAS UNCONTROLLABLE. APPROXIMATELY 1/4 MILE FROM OUR HOUSE SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE STRIKING THE CURB WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO THROW OFF THE ALIGNMENT AND DAMAGE BOTH PASSENGER SIDE RIMS. JEEP CUSTOMER HELP COULDN'T HELP. ENGINE STOPPED THREE TIMES AT ABOUT 40 MPH, VERY DANGEROUS ALMOST LEMONED THE CAR OVER THIS SAFETY PROBLEM AND MY WIFE ALMOST DIVORCED ME ON THIS ONE...BUT JEEP CAME THOUGH AND GOT A FIX ON THIS. I TOOK MY JEEP INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION LOOKED AT AFTER THE LATEST SOFTWARE UPDATE. IT HAS WORSENED IN ITS POOR PERFORMANCE. IT HAS HUGE DELAYS SHIFTING AND LUNGES. IT ALSO DISENGAGES MOMENTARILY WHEN BRAKING. THE FUEL PERFORMANCE HAS GONE DOWN ABOUT 3 MPG SINCE THE UPDATE FROM 26MPG TO 22.5MPG. THERE IS A SERIOUS SHAKE IN THE SYSTEM AT ANY SPEED ABOVE 60MPH. IT VIBRATES WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE TO THE WHEELS. COSTING DOWNHILL IT SEEMS FINE. I REPLACED THE TIRES AND HAVE HAD THEM BALANCED AND ROTATED TWICE THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER SAID THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM AND DID NOT DO ANY REPAIR OR CORRECTION. IT IS NOT RIGHT AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WITH IT. UPON VEHICULAR RESPONSE THE ENGINE WILL REV EXTREEMLY HIGH, THEN RESUME REGULAR OPERATION. THIS HAS OCCURED ON EVERY ROAD IN EVERY CONDITION. THE AFORMENTIONED PROBLEM HAS PUT MY VEHICLE AT HIGH RISK OF COLLISION ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. AN EXAMPLE OF THIS INCLUDES PULLING OUT OF A PARKINGLOT ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY. PASSING A VEHICLE ON A ONE LANE HIGHWAY ALSO PRESENTS PROBLEMS. PULLING OUT INTO THE ONCOMING LANE, DEPRESSING THE PEDAL, AND NOT ACCELERATING RIGHT AWAY PUTS THE OPERATOR AT RISK FOR A HEAD ON COLLISION. DEALERSHIPS HAVE TOLD ME THERE IS NO FAULT AND IT OPERATES NORMALLY WHEN RUNNING THE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS. THERE IS A LEGITIMATE PROBLEM, AND I HOPE IT CAN BE RECTIFIED IN THE NEAR FUTURE. AFTER WE GOT THE VEHICLE BACK IT RAN OK FOR A FEW DAYS BUT THEN ON 1/3/2015 IT CUT OUT AGAIN ABOUT TWO BLOCKS FROM OUR HOUSE IN THE OTHER DIRECTION.. IT WAS AGAIN RAINY OUTSIDE. SHE AGAIN SAW THE SAME MESSAGE. I MET HER AND GOT IT STARTED AGAIN BUT ALSO AGAIN NOTICED NO REACTION TO STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. WHEN I SHIFTED IT INTO REVERSE IT THEN SEEMED TO REACT TO GIVING IT GAS FINE AND DROVE HOME OK. WE TOOK IT TO CHURCH AND AROUND TOWN THE NEXT DAY AND IT SEEMED FAIRLY NORMAL. HAVING GONE THROUGH ROUGH SHIFTING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE EARLY AND TWO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH CHRYSLER GRAND VOYAGERS AND THEN THIS JEEP AND THE ARTICLES ON THIS SITE THAT SEEM TO BE POINTING TO JEEP TRANSMISSIONS I THINK CHRYSLER BETTER COME UP WITH THE RIGHT FIX VERY SOON BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTING RUNNING A CHECK SYSTEM CYCLE, IE. TRANSMISSION SERVICE NEEDED, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE NEED SERVICE, BATTERY NEEDED TO BE CHECKED, MIL WAS ON, ETC. (I HAVE VIDEO OF ONE OCCURRENCE) AND I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCELERATE THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED AND I COULD NOT DISENGAGE IT. AFTER THE CAR SLOWED DOWN I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND ON SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE THE CAR. THE MIL WAS NOW ON STEADILY. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES NOW. *TR
IN DECEMBER 2014, THE 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE SHUT OFF TWICE IN ONE EVENING DUE TO TRANSMISSION RELATED ISSUES: 1) THE FIRST OCCURRENCE, THE JEEP WAS AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED & THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED THE CAR LURCHED AND MADE A LOUD THUMP SOUND AND THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) WAS ILLUMINATED AND AN ERROR MESSAGE RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION CAME ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE & I WAS FORCED TO COAST INTO DARK PARKING LOT ALONE. THE MANUAL SAID THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE SERVICED IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON THROUGH SEVERAL DRIVING CYCLES AND THAT THE VEHICLE MOST LIKELY DID NOT REQUIRE TOWING. 2) AFTER FOLLOWING THE MANUAL, I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE TO A SAFE LOCATION UNTIL THE CAR COULD BE TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE (IT WAS NOW AROUND 11:00PM). THE CAR DROVE NORMALLY FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES UNTIL I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY (SPEED LIMIT 55 MPH) & THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO PULL & IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY THUMPED AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF FORCING ME TO RAPIDLY PULL OVER INTO A DANGEROUS EXIT RAMP AT AROUND MIDNIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ICY WINTER. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON & I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE CAR FOR ABOUT A WEEK & SAID THE ISSUE WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (WHICH THEY REPLACED & UPDATED THE SOFTWARE). IN MAY 2015, I HAD BEEN HAVING SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE CAR INCLUDING ANOTHER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SO I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN FOR SERVICE (THIS IS NOW THE 4TH TIME I HAD BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A VARIETY OF ISSUES). THE TRANSMISSION WAS PULLING, JERKING, & OVERALL HAVING ISSUES SHIFTING SO I REQUESTED THEY SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO PREFORM A TRANSMISSION RE-LEARN TO IMPROVE THE SHIFTING. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS, THE TRANSMISSION WAS JERKING AGAIN & I AM GOING TO BE TAKING THE CAR BACK IN AGAIN FOR SERVICE (NOW THE 5TH VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP).
