WHILE THE JEEP IS IN MOTION, THE "SERVICE SHIFTER" MESSAGE BECOMES DISPLAYED ON MY SCREEN, AS WELL AS ALL PRINDL LIGHTS GLOWING RED. THIS HAS HAPPENED SHIFTING THE CAR INTO ANY GEAR, AND HAS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING THE CAR AS WELL AS DRIVING STRAIGHT. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE STREET DRIVING AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. IF YOU PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE CAR OFF, AND TURN IT BACK ON, THE CAR DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY SHOW THE LIGHT, BUT HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY SINCE THE FIRST TIME IT DISPLAYED THE MESSAGE (ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO). THE JEEP HAS 60,000 MILES ON IT, AND THE FIRST TIME IT DISPLAYED THE MESSAGE THE JEEP HAD 50,000 MILES ON IT.
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE SO I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN RESTARTED IT. THIS SEEMED TO REBOOT THE SYSTEM AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A "GLITCH" AND THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE WORKING PROPERLY TO THEM SO NO REPAIR WAS DONE. A FEW MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN EXCEPT TURNING IT OFF AND ON ONLY WORKED FOR A FEW MILES BEFORE HAPPENING AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO A SOFTWARE UPDATE. WHAT KIND OF CAR SHUTS DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO A SOFTWARE UPDATE!!! THIS ISSUE PUT MY FAMILY IN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS AND JEEP REFUSES TO OWN UP TO HAVING A FAULTY TRANSMISSION.
2016 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT, CHECK TRANSMISSION MESSAGE KEEPS COMING ON WHILE DRIVING. SO FAR HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE WHERE THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT BY REPLACING THE TORQUE CONVERTER. BOTH TIMES THE MESSAGE COMES BACK WITHIN 50 MILES OF USE. ONCE IT IS TURNED OFF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON BUT THE CHECK TRANSMITTION MESSAGE GOES AWAY.
STARTED HAVING SERVICE SHIFTER CODES AT APPROXIMATELY 30K. WOULD BE REPAIRED & AFTER ABOUT 8 WKS IT WOULD THROW THE SAME CODE. REPEATED THE SAME CYCLE 2 ADTL TIMES. TOOK A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES TILL THE ENTIRE SHIFTER, MODULE & WIRING WERE REPLACED. AT 40K MILES MY JEEP DIED ON ME GOING DOWN A HILL. HAD TO COAST DOWN HILL & FIND A HALFWAY SAFE AREA OFF THE HIGHWAY. I HAD NO ABILITY TO START THE VEHICLE. THE ELECTRONICS WOULD COME ON WHEN I TURNED THE KEY BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER WOULD BE SOLID & THE SERVICE SHIFTER ALERT CAME ON. IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE ADVISER WALKED ME THRU HOW TO RESET THE CAR. WAIT FOR 5 MINUTES. TURN THE KEY ON & LET IT CYCLE. TURN THE KEY OFF. REPEAT THE PROCESS 3 X'S TILL IT STARTS. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP & WAS TOLD THE THERMOSTAT MODULE & THE RADIATOR. NEITHER OF WHICH WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SAME TIME I ALSO HAD AN OIL CHANGE DONE. 2 1/2 MTHS LATER SAME ISSUE. DIE GOING DOWN A HILL. AGAIN TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. TOLD THAT IT WAS A SENSOR & WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HAD AN OIL CHANGE DONE THIS TIME. I HAVE NOT REPLACED ANY PARTS ON IT YET. THE THERMOSTAT MODULE & THE RADIATOR ARE STILL THE SAME AS THE FIRST TIME I TOOK THEM IN. 8 WEEKS LATER SAME ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL AUTO REPAIR IN TOWN SINCE THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GET ME IN FOR 2 WEEKS & THE JEEP WAS LEAVING ME COASTING FOR A SAFE SPACE TO PULL OVER IN TRAFFIC. WITHIN 2 MINUTES THEY DISCOVERED JEEP WAS 2 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. THE ENGINE WAS LOSING OIL PRESSURE & WAS SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE TO KEEP IT FROM DAMAGING THE MOTOR. SINCE THEN I'VE TRIED TO SCHEDULE SERVICE WITH TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT USING 2-3 QUARTS EXTRA OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES IS NORMAL & THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. NAPLETON NORTH LAKE CHRYSLER (3701 NORTH LAKE BLVD, PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR JUST AFTER BRAKING, THE ENGINE WILL BEEP AND THEN COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE SCREEN SAYS TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK IN ORDER TO RESTART IT. IT TAKES SEVERAL MOMENTS FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESTART. *DT*JB
SHORTLY AFTER I GET GAS THE VEHICLE WILL GO FROM DRIVE TO IDLE AND A WARNING MESSAGE WILL POP UP THAT SAYS I NEED TO SHIFT TO PARK. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE WAITING TO TAKE A LEFT AT LIGHTS AND SOMETIMES AS SOON AS I GO TO PULL OUT OF THE GAS STATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE TRANSMISSION SEIZED, AND THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING LOT AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. AFTER FOUR ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO YARK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (6019 CENTRAL AVE, TOLEDO, OH 43615), BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND RECOMMENDED AN OIL CHANGE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,175.
STALLS FOR NO REASON EMERGENCY BREAK TURNS ON BY ITSELF WON'T ACCELERATE WHILE ORIGINALLY IN MOTION ON FREEWAY TURNS OFF WHILE TURNING ELECTRIC STABILITY CONTROL ICONS GOING BIZERK
WHILE WE WERE DRIVING, A MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASHBOARD TO SERVICE TRANSMISSION, AND THEN WE WERE NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR, AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP AND WE DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT A MINUTE BEFORE THE SAME MESSAGE CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD. AGAIN WE WERE NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH THE GAS PEDAL WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY. IT WASN'T MAKING ANY NOISE. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND ALL I WAS TOLD WAS TO TURN IT OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND TURN IT BACK ON TO SEE IF THE SERVICE LIGHT WOULD RESET. IF NOT TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP, BUT SINCE IT WAS SUNDAY THEY WERE ALL CLOSED. ALL MY FAMILY WAS WITH ME IN THE CAR WHICH WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. I FOLLOWED THE DEALERSHIPS INSTRUCTIONS BUT IT DID NOT WORK. WE STOP AT A STOPLIGHT AND IT DIDN'T WANT TO MOVE FORWARD ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. WE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WENT AGAIN. WE WERE ABOUT 45 MINUTES AWAY FROM HOME SO WE JUST HEADED BACK. THE SERVICE MESSAGE NEVER WENT AWAY AND WERE ONLY ABLE TO TRAVEL AT LOW SPEED. I HAVE CALLED FCA IN THE PAST WHEN A SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE POPPED UP ON THE DASHBOARD BUT IT JUST FLASHED AND DIDN'T STAY. THIS IS A NEW CAR AND I AM VERY UPSET IT HAS ALL THESE ISSUES.
THREE DAYS AFTER BUYING THIS JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED I WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH THE CAR IN PARK RUNNING WHEN I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING, THE CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE TO THE POINT THAT I CALLED 911 AND DISPATCHED MY LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT, THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE LOCATION OF THE SMOKE, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH ALL WINDOWS DOWN IN 18 DEGREE WEATHER, THE DEALER FOUND "BURN MARKS" ON THE CABIN AIR FILTER AND ALL THEY DID WAS TO REMOVE THE CABIN AIR FILTER AND THAT WAS IT? CAR MAKE ME FEEL UNSAFE AS NO REPAIR OR DIAGNOSTIC OF BURNING OR SMOKE HAS BEEN DONE. CAR LOST POWER WITH THE A/C RUNNING LAST WEEK WHILE AT THE CAR WASH, I HAD TO TURN OFF THE A/C TO GET IT UP TO SPEED. ALSO WHILE SITTING IDLING AT MCDONALDS PICKUP WINDOW A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE WAS DETECTED BY THE LADY SERVING MY MEAL, MY GIRLFRIEND AND OTHERS IN LINE WAITING, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND OF COURSE THEY FOUND "NOTHING". GOING TO GET RID OF THIS THING BEFORE IT CATCHES FIRE.
TAKATA RECALL AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND STAYING STATIONARY STARTS TO SHAKE. WHILE DRIVING SHAKES EVEN MORE AND HAS STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING WITH MY TODDLER IN CAR SEAT IN BACK. THEN IT DID IT AGAIN 2 MORE TIMES JUST GLAD MY SON WASN'T IN THE CAR. NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LIT UP TODAY FEB-6-2019. THERE HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS OF THESE TYPE OF ISSUES. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY STILL AS IT IS A LEASE. I WILL NOT BE LEASING JEEP ANYMORE. *DT *DT*JB
TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK MY JEEP HAS JUST STALLED WHILE DRIVING, BOTH ON 2/1/19 AND 2/4/19 I WAS GOING AROUND 35-40 MPH. I AM ABLE TO COAST THE JEEP OFF THE ROAD AND THEN I NEEDED TO WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE IT STARTS UP AGAIN. THE ON BOARD COMPUTER SYSTEM DISPLAY DOES NOT SHOW ANY PROBLEMS. UPON RESEARCH IT SEEMS SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM.*DT*JB
"4X4 UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED "MESSAGE CAME ON AND STAYED ON WHEN I STARTED IT. IT WAS PARKED FOR AROUND 4 HOURS AND WAS STATIONARY. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AFTER A DAY AND A HALF WAS TOLD A WIRE HAD ROTTED AND BROKE.
CAR WAS IN DRIVE/RUN MODE AND CAR CUT OFF. STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. CAR COASTED TO STOP. UNABLE TO CONTROL. *DT*JB
2016 JEEP KL TRAILHAWK (V6) WILL RANDOMLY HAVE NO ELECTRICITY/POWER AT ALL. NOT EVEN TO UNLOCK DOORS OR FOR THE DOME LIGHTS TO COME ON. THIS IS AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS OVERNIGHT, FOR 10 TO 12 HOURS. I HAVE TO USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TO JUMP START IT AND IT WILL RUN FINE FOR DAYS UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE 5 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 WEEKS. THE BATTERY IS NEW. REPLACED 12/18, AND HAS BEEN TESTED SUCCESSFULLY BY 3 DIFFERENT SHOPS ALONG WITH THE JEEP'S CHARGING SYSTEM PASSING ALL TESTS... ALL CABLES/ CONNECTORS ARE TIGHT AND CLEAN. I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL START, OR NOT.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ABERNETHY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1442 E MAIN ST, LINCOLNTON, NC 28092, 704-732-1890) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT HALF SHAFT WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A QUOTE FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V287000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
WHILE IN MOTION: IF THE 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE DRIVES OVER A SLIGHT BUMP, VARIOUS ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL LOSE POWER AND A WARNING LIGHT WILL APPEAR ON DASHBOARD SCREEN -- MOST OF THE TIME THE SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING WILL DISPLAY; AND OTHER TIMES, THE SCREEN POWER WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. IN ADDITION, WHILE IN MOTION, SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY LOSE ALL POWER, THE STEERING LOCKS UP, DECELERATES AND ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO TURN THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY OFF, WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND START IT AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET, MY 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE WITH 45,196 MILES DISPLAYED THE "SERVICE SHIFTER" MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD. THE PRND SHIFTER LIGHTS WERE ALL LIT UP RED. PULLED OVER, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE MESSAGE DID NOT APPEAR. LATER IN THE DAY, THE RADIO DISPLAY STOPPED WORKING. SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP.
THE SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE DISPLAYS ON THE SCREEN AND YOU CAN'T TELL IF THE THE IS IN DPRN BECUASE ALL THE LIGHTS ARE RED. THE CAR SOMETIMES WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF GEAR. OR JERKS WHEN IT FINALLY DOES. THIS CARE HESITATES WHILE IN MOTION AND AS WELL AS WHEN STATIONARY AND TRYING TO MOVE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE RECALL THEY HAD WAS ONLY FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE WITH THE SHIFTER BUT THIS ISSUE SHOULD ALSO BE A RECALL WITH THEM COVERING THE REPAIRS. I HAVE LESS THAN 50K MILES THERE IS NO REASON WHY I SHOULD HAVE TO COVER THE EXPENSE OF REPLACING THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY BECUASE THE SHIFTER IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY THEY SELL YOU.
WHILE DRIVING AT REGULAR SPEED MY CAR HAS STOPPED RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE & WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE IT RESTARTED. MY HEAT HAS STOPPED WORKING - I TOOK IT TO BE LOOKED AT & WAS TOLD THE "HARNESS" IS CORRODED. MY CAR HAS $43K MILES - HOW CAN THIS BE ALREADY? *DT *DT*JB
SERVICE SHIFTER CAME ON IN MY JEEP AND WOULD NOT DRIVE/SHIFT GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN A LOT OF TRAFFIC. MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! CARS WERE SWERVING AROUND ME, BLOWING THEIR HORNS, AND I COULDN'T EVEN STEP ON THE GAS TO TRY TO GET OFF THE ROAD ON TO THE SHOULDER. ABOUT 30 MINUTES BEFORE THAT HAPPENED MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED!!!
THIS IS SAFETY CONCERN! 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE CAR WOULD STOP WHILE YOU DRIVING HIGH SPEED WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGN AND ALL THE LIGHT WILL COME ON CAN NOT SHIFTING OR RESTART THE CAR. IT HAPPENED ON ME TWICE ALREADY. ONE TIME ON HIGHWAY I-95, ONE TIME ON A BUSY LOCAL ROAD AT PA. JEEP DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS COMPUTER UPDATING, I COULD NOT GET IT. AFTER FIRST TIME THEY REPAIRED IT, I DID FEEL SOMETHING WIRED WITH THE CAR. SO I BROUGHT IT BACK TO JEEP DEALERSHIP TWO MORE TIME FOR DIAGNOSE. THEY ALL SAID THE CAR HAD NO PROBLEM. NOT EVEN A MONTH, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SUDDENLY STOP! THIS TIME THEY STILL TRYING TO FIX IT FOR ME, BUT I COULD NOT TRUST JEEP AGAIN. I MEAN IF THEY CAN FIX IT, IT WOULD NOT HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER THREE TIME WHAT EVER FIX OR DIAGNOSE.
OUR 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE (LATITUDE 4WD) HAS BEEN STALLING AFTER A COLD START. THE BATTERY INDICATOR FLASHES AND THEN REGISTERS A MESSAGE TO PLACE THE CAR IN P TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AFTER WAITING 30-60 SEC, SOMETIMES WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 1/14/19 AND I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WASN'T ANY OIL ON THE DIPSTICK. THE ENGINE IS POSSIBLY BURNING OIL BUT THERE ARE NO INDICATORS OR STATUS UPDATES WHEN THE SYSTEM IS CHECKED. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF AN ENGINE ISSUE WITH THE 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE. AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST IS NEEDED BEFORE THE ENGINE CAN BE REPLACED (IF NEEDED). OIL CONSUMPTION TEST INITIATED 1/14/19. CHRYSLER/JEEP IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS NOT ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL. NEGLIGENCE BY CHRYSLER FOR NOT RESPONDING TO THIS SIGNIFICANT DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION RECALL. WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE, 'SERVICE TRANSMISSION' APPEARS ON DASH, AND VEHICLE CEASES TO ACCELERATE. TRANSMISSION ESSENTIALLY DROPS TO FIRST GEAR AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND THAT POINT.
MY JEEP KEEPS BREAKING DOWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERAL WRECKS BECAUSE OF IT. I HAVE NOW DONE MY OWN RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE GOING ON WITH CARS THAT HAVE MY SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL AND HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCE THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AS I AM ALL OVER THE US. I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING WITH SOME OF THESE PEOPLE WHO WERE WRITING THESE COMMENTS ON THE JEEP WEBSITE AND THEY HAVE ALL SAID THEY ARE NOT DEPENDABLE AND HIGHLY UNSAFE AS THEY HAVE ALSO ALMOST GOT INTO WRECKS BECAUSE OF IT. AT THIS POINT ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS GETS HURT DUE TO THE VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN WHILE IN MOTION OR WORSE, DEATH. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO STOP THE SALE OF THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE. I AM STUNNED NOTHING HAS YET TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. MY CAR HAS NOW BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK 3 TIMES AND THE ISSUE IS NOT GETTING FIXED. I HAVE A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A THERMOSTAT ISSUE. MY TOTAL REPAIR COST FOR THIS ONE PROBLEM WAS $866.06 AT THE PARAMUS NJ DEALER. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS UNEXPECTEDLY INTO NEUTRAL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65 MPH). WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED THE ENGINE REVS BUT THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL. THE ONLY WAY TO REMEDY IS COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE FREEWAY AND SHUTTING OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND I'VE TAKEN IT TO DEALER AND THEY'VE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND STATE THAT THERE IS A TRANSMISSION RECALL AFFECTING THE 2014-2015 MODELS, NOT MINE WHICH IS A 2016. THE LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP LOOKED UP THE CODE P0887 (TCM RELAY), BUT STATED THAT HE WOULD NOT WORK ON IT BECAUSE OTHER 2016 JEEP CHEROKEES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM CONTINUE COMING BACK WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, EVEN AFTER GOING SO FAR AS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AND RELAY. HE RESET THE CODE, BUT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED A DAY LATER AT FREEWAY SPEEDS (65MPH) AND I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED AS I STALLED. APPROX 4 DAYS LATER THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN AT FREEWAY SPEEDS (65 MPH). I NOW DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON MAINLY SURFACE STREETS AND AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE OF THE CLOSE CALLS I'VE HAD WITH MY TRANSMISSION SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL AT FREEWAY SPEEDS.
